They have a man clean the men's room, but he has a woman supervisor. The woman is routinely in the men's room including during the morning rush when guys are getting changed for work. I know from other guys in the locker room that others have spoken to the girl at the front about this, and I have as well. Management says she is his supervisor and needs to check his work. 1. They have both been there for at last the last couple years, and if he needs that close supervision still to do the same job daily, one or both of them probably should be replaced. 2. A lot of the time, she does not appear to be supervising but just standing there talking to him in a foreign language when, for example, she dusts the front of the lockers (which may not need to be done when guys are changing for work?) and 3. On the day the cleaning guy is off, she never comes in to "supervise" the other gentleman who cleans, which obviously calls into question the reasoning of management. It is frustrating they don't seem to care about this easy to fix concern.

I can’t believe how old and dated this LA is for the location. Pretty bad! It’s clean but the machines are old and it definitely needs a renovation. I was shocked to hop on the treadmill upstairs and none of the machines have TVs or anything like other locations I’ve been to.

Edit after 1 year. Some new staff. Constantly walking around, putting weights away and cleaning up. They are making a significant improvement. Members still aren’t great at cleaning up after themselves, but the new staff has been a big improvement. 2stars up to 3stars for this member 👍🏻

It’s not great, but gets the job done. Most of the equipment is pretty beat up. Bench covers with cracks and holes. Dried up wipes all over the floors. And the dispensers are usually empty, so nothing is really getting wiped down after use. Very few people rack their weights, so there are plates and dumbbells scattered everywhere. Or plates are just left on bars which then makes it tough to tell if things are being used. Overall, much of the equipment really needs to be replaced or refurbished. But the mess… members need to clean up after themselves. There’s no way for staff members to keep up.

The sauna here is broken 275/365 days per year. The sign now just says “closed until they figure it out”… buy a new sauna and start banning members for pouring water on it. Give free month memberships to people who tell you who is pouring water. This is rediculous. This gym is an embarrassment to la fitness. As I’m writing this is the locker room a cockroach just crawled across the floor. I did not just make that up.

Been coming here for 5 years and this gym is an absolute embarrassment. More than half of the weight lifting machines have broken components. Pieces that have been broken or missing FOR YEARS. For example, the only two low row cable machines have broken weight selection levers so you can’t pick certain weights. These broken levers have been missing FOR FIVE YEARS. These 5 star reviews are friends of staff. For this gym to be located in Boca Raton, a high wealth, high luxury neighborhood and you have this garbage quality machines is WILD. Really don’t understand how corporate lets this garbage pass as acceptable. Ripped leather seats. Only one matching pair of hand pulls for cable machines IN THE ENTIRE GYM is crazy. That means you’re not going to be able to use two side by side cables if you want to use both arms for your exercise bc the lengths of each hand pull is different from one another. Only ONE paper towel dispenser in the men’s locker room/bathroom is unexplainable. Machines missing palm support pads means your palms are grinding against metal and getting torn apart. Missing pins to select weights on a machine means you’re searching for unsecured pins to steal from another machine to be able to select the weight on your machine. The GM needs to be fired immediately and corporate needs to be notified. How can people allow this garbage to pass is beyond me.

I’ve had an amazing experience at LA Fitness! The facility is always clean, the equipment is top-notch, and the overall vibe is super motivating. "Cookie", the operations manager, has done an outstandingly amazing job of helping me while I was in transition due to mold issues in my apartment. I’m extremely disappointed with how LA Fitness handles cancellations.
Back in November, I asked to cancel my account, and the staff member assured me it was taken care of. Despite that, they kept charging me $10 every month. And now, out of nowhere, they charged $60 from my account again.

Here’s the trick they use: when you ask to cancel, they don’t actually cancel your membership. They “freeze” your account instead, and keep charging you $10 a month — hoping you won’t notice the small amount. That’s exactly what they did to me.

Now I’m trying to fix it over the phone, and they’re telling me it can’t be done unless I go to a location in person. This is clearly a strategy to make it hard for people to cancel so they can keep pulling money from your account.

Be careful when you cancel with LA Fitness. Double-check everything, because they’ll try to keep charging you. They did it to me, and they’ll do it to you too.

In looking for a Sunday class, which is not my usual Yoga day, I found the Yamato Road location and tried it. Brian facilitated a great class and it was great that he encouraged modifications as needed. After leaving, I had some questions about Yoga classes & instructors at this location, and the person at the front desk (Greg Horst) was super friendly and helpful with all my questions. Update- district manager Kim offered to try and fix my membership or to just call her every time I needed guests passes. She acknowledged David the manager who was unskilled in operations and customer resolution. The janitor who barged in on the ladies room has been dealt with.
I signed up during a promo for two free guests for the premium statewide membership and for years never had an issue. Today the staff refused my guests and the David the sales manager on duty just shrugged his shoulders and was blantely rude and escalated the confrontation . I will be calling corporate office . Never mind I have it shown in my VIP passes in my app after we paid 20 for my guest. Shortly after an older woman came out of the locker room staring a man was in the locker room without announcing and refused to leave. The young woman at the desk that gave me a hard time , was useless to help the woman so I went and confronted the La fitness employee who was belligerent and stating that he had work to do. Eventually a young man came to help but honestly, the response was too little too late.
Mediocre equipment in need of repairs, not enough free weights, not enough space in the stretching room and the cardio is on second level, it's hot as can be up there from the lights at 5:15 am. Spend your money elsewhere or drive to Pompano and sign up there.Daycare is closed even though it's stated on the app. No towel service even though that is included(apparently only at premium locations)

Older equipment, but lots of it. Nice pool. Men's locker room is poorly maintained, many lockers need repair and many lockers have permanent locks despite club rules against this practice. Frequently there is a shortage of paper towels for hand drying, and there are no air dryers. Urinals and toilets are often broken, and showers frequently are without soap. I've visited many LA Fitness locations and this, by far, is the most poorly maintained facility I've visited.

There are many people working out in slippers, with socks or bare feet. Men wear sneakers and full clothing in the sauna.

It is unhygienic to wear sneakers inside a sauna, as they can track contaminants from outside. The heat and moisture in the sauna can create an environment where bacteria grow.

The machines are dusty and often rusted. The place needs to be thoroughly cleaned. There are tears in the fabric of some equipment that have been in this condition for months.

I have been going regularly to this gym since 2011 when it opened and have been here through many managers, some good and some bad but the manager we have now at the East Boca gym whose name is Raqelme (I”Cookie), is awesome. I really like this gym's location and facilities, but I prefer the gym at Hillsboro & Fed. Hwy. due to shorter wait times. I miss Pompano Beach Gym for their boxing training and professional boxing athlete who taught classes. I think LA Fitness would be even better if they offered boxing training and good music. I believe they could put Pompano Fitness out of business if they added more diverse classes like boxing or MMA training. The pool is a nice addition, but it needs more frequent cleaning. I've been a member since they opened, and I think they should bring in modern teachers for yoga and maybe even an ice machine for ice baths. Overall, I believe LA Fitness has the potential to become a 5+ star gym in South Florida if they make these additions.

I have never experienced something this bad at any gym I have ever been to. I was using at one of the chairs next to the free weights and some bald headed steroid looking guy came up to me saying I have been done too many workouts, so I should get up since he has been waiting. Mind you there are about 6 other chairs there as well... So he goes up to the people at the front desk and both managers come over and say it's not gym etiquette to do more than 3 sets at whatever station you're working out at. I ended up not getting up because that's ridiculous, and next thing you know he's cursing me out and the managers did not care at all. Once the managers went back to the front, he instantly started threatening me saying I better hope I don't see him outside the gym. The worst part is, they kid 2 kids out of the basketball court the day before for "arguing," but this guy can say whatever he wants to me and nothing happened. Horrible customer service. Was on a cable machine and some roid head cried and called the front desk on me becasuse I was "hogging the machine". Manager comes over and doesnt hear me out, but takes the other guys side because im younger, even though he was being blatantly disrespectful towards me right in front of her. crazy power trip. Oh and the locker rooms smell absolutely awful and are always dirty. I recommend going to a quality gym where the machines actually work and you dont have karen members and staff on you for absolutely nothing.
