Update. Bathroom smells like sewage at all times. Still not one fan on the ceiling. Feels hot in here all the time. No one reracks their weights. People wearing flip flops and then using their nasty bare feet on dumbells! Music on weight floor has been turned up to full blast and you can't even listen to your own no matter which headphones you use. Staff here seems like they could careless about anything. Why do some men wear spandex here? No you do not need to lift up your shirt while you're doing abs. Also some brah is busy rapping while wearing shades during lifting. Also another brah brought in a large Bluetooth speaker for his personal use on the weight floor. You only get a response on here if you leave all stars with positive reviews. Come guys say something. I know you see this.

I've been attending this gym for some time now. I recently signed my wife up for a membership Thanksgiving week. I made it a point to ask if they had any specials for Black Friday and they confirmed they did NOT. So I purchased a membership at their rate. The VERY NEXT DAY they had advertising for Black Friday rates which were significantly lower. I feel like ive been taken advantage of and would advise against getting a membership here. There are a lot of much more affordable local options. The gym in general is not kept up very well. A dozen lights out at any given time and no sanitizing wipes available on a given day at least once a week.

Dirty pool floor, dirty edges of the pool covered with algae already and mold on the corners of the hot tub. Cockroach in the pool. Sauna is a disaster too, dirt can be seen with a naked eye. I saw a cockroach in the sauna 3+ weeks ago. The cone in the shower has been there for at least 3+ weeks.

Ive been to many LA Fitness / Esporta gyms in the US, from California to Delaware and this gym’s hygiene is the worst by far.

This is for the “initiation fee”, the yearly fee “to keep the gym clean and operational” as one employee said from another LA Fitness (on Gulf to Bay). The staff and corporate are WAY TOO LAZY, do your job or get lost

If I could give negative reviews I would. I saw a membership coordinator at this location and said I'd like to take a day to think about signing up. The coordinator called to check in and I had him text me the membership fees and rates just to be sure of the prices and signed up over the phone. When I received the credit card charge it was significantly higher than the text message prices or what we discussed. I called to inquire why and he said oh, the prices went up. I went in to get a copy of the signed contract and found out this dishonest piece of garbage scribbled a signature under my name that essentially agreed to the higher price. This is actually a crime! I called repeatedly and asked for managers, nobody called me back. I went in to different LA Fitness to ask to speak to a manager there, nobody called me back. I called corporate, nobody called me back. If you want a total bait and switch experience, go into this club. I have no idea how they're still in business. They should've given that membership to me to make up for illegally scribbling a name underneath mine that agreed to some ridiculous pricing that wasn't discussed. That guy should be fired.

This is extremely ridiculous, AC unit on Spin/cycle room has been broken for an entire year and no one has done anything about it, even the spin class trainer agrees with it. First it was a leak that damaged the ceiling panels, wet floors, unpleasant odor and today July 17, 2025, still the same way. I have been going to this gym for many many years. A lot of the people that work here have really surprised me because they truly care about the guests. There’s always an incentive to bring your friends in and I’ve brought guests in so I could occasionally have a workout partner. If you put in the effort and they see you coming in the trainers might even come up to you and introduce themselves, and ask you how you are doing. I’ve done some of the classes, my favorite is step.

I never feel like I’m being judged or I have to fit into some kind of box to be there. I see people of all ages and sizes all the time. I have gotten to know Wendy, one of the trainers, and Michael, and they have truly taken interest in helping me and I appreciate them so much! When I go in I know they’re watching haha! Makes me work harder. I love the hot tub and the pool too!

The LA Fitness at this location has been my go-to gym for several years. It has more than enough equipment for a good workout plus other nice amenities like a sauna, pool and hot tub. I’ve also worked with Michael, an amazing personal trainer here and have taken fun classes like HIIT, yoga and Zumba. On top of all that, I appreciate all the staff, especially Jay, for always being welcoming, friendly and encouraging!

This gym kept billing me for a year after I had physically gone in to quit and was told my account was successfully closed. Once I discovered they were billing me the whole time a year later they refused to refund my money and were rude. They told me I had to talk to the operations manager to quit but ONLY after I had complained about being billed incorrectly for a year. They do not train their employees and they just tell you BS in order to keep billing you even after you quit. Its a scam.

I feel like this gym has a great selection when it comes to machines, cardio, calestenics on the turf, group fitness (altho i would love to see more types of classes on the calendar like les mills or more times available.) Access to the pool and Sauna that isnt in most commerical gyms. Free weights that are not at a planet fitness type of gym. The staff here are super nice, the cleaners work their ass off to keep up. There are at least 2 of every machine you could want.

Jay the manager called me and addressed many of my concerns with the quality of the facility. Told me that they have several improvments in terms of cleaning and replacing and painting things on the calendar.

As far as price goes, I got in at a great rate with great benifits because ive been a memeber for a long time. Its a little frusterating when i recommend my friends join the gym and the prices are much higher and less benifits than i have. They can ask what im paying and what i get for it, but that is not the case if they signed up today. Prices go up and we get that but its hard to recommend when there are other gyms not super far for at or less than the same price.

This location is perfect for me, and i love the sauna and not many gyms offer a sauna so this place is my happy zone. Some days i come in just for a good sweat, otherdays i come in and go hard in the weights. I can get a lot done here even if im not feeling it.

When i talk about the machine quality I not only compare it to the gyms in the area, but i also compair it to Esporta/ LA fitness gyms in the area i have visited. My local gym seems to always have a handful of machines down. The Screens on the cardio equipment are basically useless. They either get static or FOX news in which case i wish it was just static. I dont go to the gym to watch tv, but its also a shame that on the cardio machines your only entertainment focus is your phone on a ledge that makes you crane your neck. some days i bring a suction cup magsafe thing to stick my phone up higher. Easier to go longer and harder if i can focus on something like a interesting show.

Jay says that they are renovating the sauna coming up with new wood and im stoked about that. I spend a lot of time in the sauna and look forward to a refresh.

An improvement i would love to see besides machines would be another water fountain somewhere else in the gym maybe near the pool or front desk by the cardio machines. Maybe one of those nice ones that have a protected waterbottle refill station so that sweaty heads are not coming in contact with the spout. Would also love a water fountain in the locker room. If i am half naked and soaked in sweat in the sauna and need water, i have to put clothes on and then track my sweaty self out into the common area to stand in line to get a sip of water. Would be nice if there was one in the locker room we could refresh or even fill our water bottles with.

Do i recommend this gym to my friends..... Definately. But I find they often end up going somewhere else because they cannot afford the current prices reasonably when there are other options. I get it. I got in a while ago and got a great deal, i wish i could give that deal to my friends. I can get them in as my guest, but if they want to come back without me..... i think its 30$ a month now....

I moved down to Florida from Philadelphia in November and was pleased to see so many locations near me. This one is closest to me and I have continued my workout schedule. The manager, Britteny noticed my workouts and using the Pro Result booklet. She recommended working with a trainer and I signed up with Jason. He listened to my goals and reviewed the work I have done previously. Now I'm ready to meet new goals and continue on my weight loss journey. I have lost a total of 45 lbs over 1.5 years , endurance levels increased. Best of all my lab results are in the normal range, total lipids are normal and A1C decreased.
This facility has more than enough equipment, clean and good upkeep. I'm a Silver Sneakers member as well. There are numerous classes to sign up for as well.

I hope the gym manager Brian sees this. The women’s showers are in need of desperate cleaning. The smell is overwhelming when you walk in there, due to negligence and there are drain gnats all over the shower walls. Great atmosphere and personnel. The staff does a good job keeping it clean from day to day. The average age is a little bit older compared to other gyms. Not as many high school or college aged young people. Plenty of equipment options to get a quality workout but space is limited for squat racks with only 3. I really like this club, however the hot tub Jacuzzi is often broken, so that's really all I like to do so I would say it happens about half the time I show up to the club. The pool is sometimes off-limits as well. Other than that, the sauna is the hottest one I've ever experienced and the pool is usually really cold when it's open. It's great to get in the jacuzzi or sauna then shower off and treat the pool like a cold plunge.

I have been going to this gym for about 3 years. The locker room is dirty and stinks really bad. The attachments for the cable machines are old and worn out. The trainers don't speak to anyone else but their clients even to acknowledge them. The gym is always hot and the TVs on the cardio machines only get 3 maybe 4 channels if they work at all. There are always wipes and weights laying around all over the place. I have started going to the LA Fitness on Gulf to Bay and it is so much cleaner and the AC is actually turned on there.
The management needs to get out from behind the front desk and see what's going on in the gym. And they can't decide if they are ESporta or LA Fitness.
Just my opinion.

Update*** they have done a better job of cleaning up the wipes so the gym is cleaner than it used to be. Sadly a bad review has to be written before something is done. It would be nice to have ceiling fans to circulate the air especially in the weight area of the gym. The pool and whirlpool have been down the last few times I have been in. I don't use them but noticed the cones.
For this being a busy gym they do a decent job but could use some improvements.

I started working out when I was 12 yrs/old. I'm now 66. I do Zumba classes 5 times per week and the ole Franco Columbo push/pull routine weight trading 4 times per week. Best shape of my life!

Why does no one answer the damn phone @ this location? Its ridiculous to have to drive up there just to ask a question. The last time there was a chick w/her feet on the desk scrolling her phone vs actually assisting people or answering calls and just ignoring people walking in without even greeting us. Also your location was opened that Monday Oct 7th until 9pm(had to drive there to find this out) and instead of answering calls they ignore it when you could at least use an automated service with a recorded notice of location closing early if your staff is not going to answer calls. This location then again fails to answer the phones again even a week later as I drove up there last night and seen the same exact chick doing the same exact thing. So I didn't even go inside because I probably would have been rude. Besides that I do really like going to the gym as its usually very clean.

Wanted to use a three day pass for your pass, but we’re told we have to come in before 8 PM. Me and my partner both work all day to 8 PM. We can’t come in because we’re working and they have no sales staff after that we said hey, can we purchase online without the sales staff, we were told that’s a bad idea. As a member of several gyms in Pinellas County, I have to say this particular gym is the worst I've encountered. The facility is extremely unsanitary, starting with the locker rooms, sauna, and pool area. There's a severe lack of equipment, and I've witnessed unacceptable behavior, such as people wearing jogging pants in the pool and smoking weed in the sauna, gym, and on the basketball court. The staff's attitude varies depending on their mood, which adds to the inconsistency of the experience.

I hope these issues can be addressed, but at this point, even Planet Fitness is much cleaner and better maintained. It's disappointing to see people working out in their pajamas. Used to love this place years ago. But over the last ten years it’s going down hill. It’s getting smelly and not very clean. After 8:00 people start smoking weed in the gym. I told the attendant but he just gave me a deer in the headlights look and nodded. He never got up and looked to see who was doing it and ask them to stop. I have been coming to this gym for over 7 years. What I like: the exercise equipment, group classes, most of the time it is clean, and close to my house. What I don't like: bugs in the pool/shower area, jacuzzi smells of chlorine, air conditioning is iffy, and the esporta policy of personal training sessions after cancelation of personal training contract because they only allow you to use your sessions up to 30 days after your last billing. If I cancel my personal training session but still have a membership for the gym I should at least have 3 months or more to use my sessions. I would not recommend Esporta for personal training contract!!!

Emily was useless.

Originally they refused to waive a late fee when I got a new card and missed a payment for the first time after being a member for nearly a year.

Shows pretty poor business IQ because this is a subscription based service business not a one time purchase goods type of business. Totally understandable if you miss multiple payments for tires you already purchased and are driving around with, but makes zero sense that they’d rather charge a $25 late fee and lose not only the late fee when I cancel, but future recurring revenue because I canceled.

Their corporate team should learn more about what “opportunity cost” is before making policy.

Excellent gym in relation to the men's locker room overall cleanliness. I have seen staff deep clean in there and it shows. Location is good too for those who have multi-club membership. Whirlpool and sauna always work too properly.

Great place to work out. And they stay open till midnight Monday through Thursday .
They still have pandemic shortened hours On Fridays Closing at 9 pm which sucks. And You better be out on time or they scream and yell.

I had the privilege of doing an intake with Brittney who was informative, educational and patient with all my questions.
Brittney also put me thru some equipment exercises to test my ability and stamina. She again was knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions.
So happy to have had her be my orientation to this clean, complete Gym.
I highly recommend Brittney !! And, I highly recommend this Gym.

I come here everyday on my lunch break and it’s the best gym I’ve been too by far. Esporta is clean, not too crowded, has tons of free weights, cardio equipment, pool, basketball court, and so much more that they offer their members for a great price. I would highly recommend coming here to check out this amazing gym in the Clearwater/ Largo area.

I’m extremely disappointed my first time using the child care this facility has to offer. I dropped off my child and met the chaperone. 45 minutes later I picked up my child who was hiding and crying. I asked her what happened and she said “I have no idea” my child is 2 and was not being supervised. Considering this is the only reason I chose to have a membership at this facility I’m extremely disappointed that my child stated “the other kids pushed me to the ground so I hid.” The gym its self was fine and clean but if you are coming with children i would be hesitant.

Esporta at Tri City Plaza is a modern and well equipped gym. Their classes are very popular, especially body building class on Tuesdays. Often, it's packed. They need to add more classes like that. This is why I took off one star.

The facility is really awesome in itself, but I joined for the classes and then realized they are pretty much tailored to people over 65. If they got some young people teaching Zumba and other classes with relevant music, this gym would be stellar.
