As of Sept 7th 2025 there will be no 915 am classes on M-W-F-S-S. The current instructor is leaving and no replacements have been made. More than a month notice was given . I have contacted both corp and the manager, Shannon. Shannon stated "it was not her job to find replacement " and even suggested that the members ask around and see if any other instructors will take up the classes. Corporate states that it's the area gym's responsibility to find the instructors. Just be aware, if you are looking for spin classes, there will be no 915 cycle classes on those 5 days. Perhaps look for a gym that looks out for its members !

I really enjoy coming to LA Fitness! The gym is spacious, always clean, and has everything you could need—from a great pool to a full basketball court. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the instructors are all excellent. One of my favorite things is the senior fitness class, which my mom loves and looks forward to every week. It’s such a thoughtful program that makes her feel included and supported. Overall, this is one of the best gyms I’ve been to, and I highly recommend it!

Great gym and amenities, but lack of enforcement to wear masks immediately puts this at 1 star. For people to feel safe and healthy, you’d think there would be more emphasis on having people wear them while casually walking around, breathing heavily.

Edit post Covid- I want to give a shout-out to Dan who is there in the morning (5am). If you go at this time, you know he’s extremely friendly and welcoming which is hard to do every day at this time. I upped my rating from a 1 to 3 to average it out. Dan gets a 5 all day, every day.

I noticed management tends to respond to only the 4/5 star reviews which is odd because the sub four star reviews have feedback provided within them that is valuable to improving rhe operation of the gym. Perfectly fine, but be sure to give Dan whatever you can because he’s the reason for a great start to the morning.

Signed up a few years ago only because I was told the kids club would open up in a few months. A year later that never happened, so I quit. I just joined again a couple months ago because they had finally reopened their kids club. Talked the entire time about coming back with my toddler. The next day, I’m told he’s not in my account and I don’t have access to kids club. Had to have corporate add it to my account, although I was told the $40/month I was paying was for me and him. Two months later, they shut the kids club down and said I would have to go to the Gulf Bay location for it, which is completely out of the way for me and not what I signed up for. I asked for at least guests privileges to make up for the inconvenience or something and they refused. This place has always just been a managerial disaster. But I’m stuck because GTB location is the only gym with a kids club, that I know of.

I’ve been a member for about a month now. This location is smaller but that wasn’t a big deal to me. The gym also lacks some of the amenities that the other locations are known to have (sauna, and recovery) but what primarily attracted myself and my husband was the kids club. We’ve appreciated the kids club staff, and my 4 year old looks forward to coming in to the gym with me so he can visit the kids are.

Walked into the gym the other day with my two littles in tow to see that the kids club is permanently closing at this location. Not a great idea being that this area has many families that would benefit from this offering. The nearest location to me aside from Dunedin is the gulf to bay location which is where they are redirecting anyone who needs the kids club to. It’s pretty inconvenient now because that extends my commute. That matters when you have small kids in tow and a family to work around when trying to focus on your fitness. Instead of a 20 minute commute (both ways) I’ll have about a 40 minute commute (both ways).

To not have a kids club AND some of the amenities the other locations have is pretty lame. It’ll be good for anyone who doesn’t need the childcare or sauna and whatever else.

This is the best gym experience I have had in years. Anthony is a great personal trainer and I am already feeling the effects after only 2 months. Walter and the whole staff are doing a fantastic job maintaining the equipment and facility. Even though it gets busy at times I never have a problem finding a spot to work out as there is plenty of equipment available and Anthony is showing me how to use the equipment to get the right results. I love that the regulars are from all walks of life but everyone is here to improve their fitness by participating in whichever activities motivate them to keep moving. My decision to sign up with this team was the right one !!

Have had some issues with my mobile app tried to re set several times with no luck, have been allowed to check in with my mobile number for a couple years now but Shannon was not having it said no mobile app no entry, explained it has not worked and said well you need to pay $12 dollars to get a key tag. For the love of God, can you please clean the shower area. While taking a shower, there was mold in front of me, the back of me, the floor, the ceiling, the right of me, and to the left of me (which is the moldy shower curtain). Y'all are one of the most expensive clubs and your clients shouldn't have to deal with this. It's flat out disgusting. I go to your gym to get healthy, not to get sick. As a longtime member of LA fitness, I wasn’t getting a lot out of it, just by going myself.
However, in November I decided signed up for a personal trainer, and mine is Yanizet (Yani). She’s personable, fun, and challenging all at the same time. She just doesn’t have me work on legs, arms or core at each session, she combines all in one so I really feel I’m getting a good workout and learning a lot. If I have any areas of pain, she helps me work on that area. She sometimes even stretches me out do the hip issues which helps tremendously.
If you want to trainer at LA fitness in Dunedin, she’s the one to choose.

I've had such a great experience with Anthony as my personal trainer here. He's made working out enjoyable and something I look forward to; something I never expected. He's encouraging, motivating, and pretty hilarious. I have been bringing my two daughters to the swim school that is run out of this gym. The swim school is amazing and gets 5 stars. The gym management however is 1 star. They recently told the swim school that they were not allowed to let the students use the change rooms and private showers anymore. They would rather force my 3 and 5 year old daughters to shower in front of everyone swimming and get changed in a tent. Again the school and the instructors are amazing, especially coach Maddy. LA fitness management should be ashamed of themselves.

Gym used to be one of the best. But now prices have gone up and maintanxe has gone down. The locker rooms and showers are rarely cleaned. They still play "Sherri" in the guys locker room despite me complaining many times they say they can't do anything about it. And they must have lost their music license contract because the music played now is complete trash and is nauseating. "Hits" from 20 years ago. Not worth the price anymore.

Horrible Experience

I decided to stop by this location to use the 3-day guest pass since I’m looking for a local gym and wanted to try it out before signing up. After signing up online and receiving the code, I checked in at the gym and was informed that I needed to meet with a staff member before using the pass. No problem—I was genuinely interested in learning more about membership options.

However, after checking my information, Peter informed me that I wasn’t eligible for the advertised free pass because I had been a member back in 2018, at a completely different LA Fitness location. Instead, I was told I’d need to pay $20 to use the gym. This restriction was never mentioned in the “Try Us for Free” promotion online, and let’s be honest—7 years ago at a different location shouldn’t disqualify anyone.

This was a complete waste of my time. I thought the guest pass was a great way to explore the gym before committing, but I didn’t even get to try it. Still, this experience showed me how they operate, and it helped me decide to steer clear of this gym altogether.

Since 2020, I've been going to the Palm Harbor LA Fitness for personal training about 4 -8 times per month. After being transferred to the Dunedin location, I started with a new trainer but then with a recent time change in schedule, I once again changed by personal trainer to Carla. Before starting with her, I was skeptical because I enjoyed my first two trainers so much that I didn't think anyone was capable of topping them. Carla is exactly what I need. She is highly skilled, informative and results driven (but in a good way). Carla is definitely a 5-star personal trainer!

Totally underwhelmed by this gym. At our old place you always saw members cleaning equipment after use, there were stations with sanitizing spray and paper towels all over the gym, and there was always someone on staff cleaning. LA Fitness is very dirty; they only offer tiny wipes which are of no use for ripping down equipment, I haven’t seen a single person clean the equipment after use, and I’ve never once seen any staff cleaning anything. As far as the equipment goes; there is a lot of it, some if it looks pretty old, dirty and rusted. The place is huge but cramped with so much equipment and so many people. The couple plusses I found was the group exercise room is spacious, they offer free group classes with membership, and the facility has a pool.

I'd like to say that Yeni is the best personal trainer in my opinion. She has relieved the pain I have from past and recent sports injuries with the recovery treatments she provides. The stretching treatments Yeni performs have allowed me to go without pain, especially right after our sessions. I believe she truly cares for her clients' well-being and is a great asset to the health club. Her treatments are incredible. I would recommend her to anyone interested in improving flexibility and circulation in their legs or relieving foot pain. The 5 stars are because of her.

I’ve had a gym pass for what used to be LA Fitness for a couple of years, (now Esporta) and I have to say Darren, (Manager), you have to be dealing with something mentally to be acting this way towards PAYING customers who want to workout and just enjoy the gym. The way you handle sign ups is like a car salesman trying to bag their fat checks. You work at a gym buddy, maybe use the money you’re earning to go to therapy or something because you treat people with such unprofessionalism that it’s honestly shameful. Treat people better and take your job and personal life challenges separately. Been going to Planet Fitness and other gyms, WHOLE different experience. Lady closing at night was so rude. We didn’t even know what time they closed. Not a warning or a “ hey ladies we will be closing soon.” Or a “ sorry ladies but we are closed” nothing. Just attitude. Telling us to hurry up because we are trespassing and she’ll call the cops. saying she already clocked out and that we were wasting her time and money. She told us they closed at 9. It would make sense to be frustrated if we were there for 15 minutes or more but no it was 5 minutes. There were other women trying to finish packing up, but it’s difficult when you have a lady yelling that we are wasting her time as if you’re not a paying guest. I’m paying for a membership not an attitude. There was an older lady who was trying her best to hurry up even though she had some troubles. I’m not sure who was the guy that was with her. I thought he was the manager but I’m guessing not since he didn’t saying anything about her attitude.

This gym has a very nice staff but they need more 7.5lb and 10 lbs weights in the aerobic room also the A/C has not worked in a week it’s extremely hot some people have to leave because if they stay in class the entire time they will pass out

This location is amazing! I’m in town visiting for a couple of weeks, and they set me up with a one month membership. Darren, was amazing, and he got me set up and on to my workout so quickly. Highly recommended!!

This gym is a SCAM!! If you want to cancel your membership you can only do it Monday-Friday 9-5. They tell you to print it out and mail it if you can’t come in but that still requires doing some where to print it and then buying stamps. Not to mention the ladies upfront are super rude and when I told the lady my wife wanted to cancel she kept calling her my mom. Not only that but lied and said she’d send an email so I could cancel it but it was an email for a form to print. Don’t go to esporta. Literally any gym but this is better.

If you ever need to cancel your membership, be prepared to do it only Monday through Friday, and if you have a job from 9-6 good luck! Manager and staff = rude. Literally no one at the front counter when I come in because they are chatting in the back. And when I got upset because I literally don't want to be billed anymore by a gym I don't go to and haven't been in over a year. Also YOU have to print the form and bring it back. Forget email exists. Literally this is why some people hate the gym.

This is the cleanest and well maintained gym. Celeste is often seen cleaning and mops up the floor in the dressing room quickly after aquafit water exercise class. Celeste is always so cheerful. Only four stars because they are only Esporta/ L A fitness club in the area WITHOUT a sauna or whirlpool :(

Great location and AMAZING assistant manager Ty! Made signing up so easy and always takes the time to make sure my needs are being met. This gym is always so clean and stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, wipes, etc! Don't really see the manager Darren doing much other than sitting behind his desk. But Ty is always on the floor, making sure the gym is in top shape and making sure the customers are satisfied!

What a great gym! I recently signed up with Darren. He was able to show me all my options including personal training programs. I had referred my father and step mother to him and they were very pleased not only with Darren but, with how well the gym is maintained and all the staff members offering great customer service. I have to agree with them. I highly recommend this Esporta location.

This weekend they were out of paper towels in both restrooms and all four gym floor sanitizer wipe stations were empty. When I told the maintenance person, his reply was, “ yeah, I know”. When I told a staff member at the front desk, she said, “sorry, we hope to have some on Monday”.

In the post Covid era, this is a disgrace! Any business that actually cared, would have gone to any of a dozen nearby stores to buy Clorox wipes and paper towels. Someone needs to address this ASAP!

Darren, the general manager helped me get signed up today and it was a great experience. He broke everything down for me to get the best deal possible. Very professional, yet down to earth, gentlemen. The club is pretty impressive and has all the equipment that I was looking forward to plus more. I’m very excited to get started and happy that we could find a package deal to fit my needs. One thing I loved when I walked in the door was that you could feel the clean atmosphere, which is so important to me. I definitely give this location five stars.

Don't bother. The general manager Darren seems lazy, rude, and clueless. And wow, what an experience! You can tell the steroids gave this man a high ego and the cupcakes led him to have all these insecurities he tries to hide through the mood swings. After reading the reviews, how does this clown still have a job? He's done more damage to the company than benefiting it.

I was online checking out for a membership, but saw there was a "Free Pass" option, so I thought it would be a good idea to check the place out before purchasing. I had no intentions on freeloading (which is the idea he gave) and simply wanted a tour and was hopeful to walk out with a membership today.

I get a lovely text message from the Darren, "Ya applied for a guest pass however ya been a member several times, $20 fee simply applies". Mind you, I haven't had a membership since 2019 (and over 1000 miles away) and have never applied for a free pass before. I asked for a tour instead since that's what I wanted, no reply.

So I went online and luckily, I saw there is an option to schedule a tour (probably should've done this before but I didn't see that option as big as the free pass icon).
I did get to see the place, but it wasn't presented very well.
I met with the Darren who said "I see you've been to an Esporta before, they all look the same no matter what state you're in, do you still want a tour?"
Of course I said yes. I asked if he's been to the locations in Ohio, he replied he hasn't ever been LOL. Weird. Nice assumption buddy!
Let me tell you, it does NOT look the same at all. It actually looks really nice in there and has options I've never seen before, but it's also missing a lot of great ones as well!

No kid play room (yet),
no sauna,
no steam room,
no hot tub,
and a small pool.

I asked if my wife would be able to swim with our son in the pool, the answer was no and looked at me like I was stupid.
No explanation on why because this was allowed in Ohio. I see things might have changed since 2019?
"Gotcha, well I saw you have a kid room online, he can play in there while we're here"
"It's not open yet" (Here's the chance to tell me WHEN it opens) ....going once, twice, threeee, nope!
*He continues speed walking to get it over with*
"So when does the kid area plan on opening?"
"This is a new facility and one of the best in the area."
"Oh okay, cool. So when do you guys plan on opening the kids area?"
"Maybe by next month"

I got possibly a 2 minute tour, and his presentation was awful. You can tell he's not a people person, which makes it look like he doesn't like his job.
The place has potential, but I'm sure he's lost the company a lot of money from people walking out without a membership after.
I did plan on signing up for 3 memberships today, but not after that.

This place is clean and bigger than it looks from the outside, but doesn't have all the features I was hoping for. Be happy Google makes it mandatory to give a star. So here you go, one star! :)

Why went into this club to get back into body building after a real long time trying to recoup from an accident in life.. The biggest turnoff is when you go in.And the sales people are absolute pushy.Idiots I don't listen. Everybody is unique with their own goals and ambitions and their lives. Darren, the general 6 one of the best.
Receivables that i've ever had taking my membership and giving me the best one fit for me and my company... Helping me.
