They sent me an email telling me I have a 3 day pass I went there and a rude lady told me no is only for new people.
And because I had a membership before she was not going to give not even one pass.
What happened is that in the past I had a bad experience with LA fitness they are always in construction or they have closed the Jacuzzi or the pool.
For so many months. That’s why I canceled.
I went to this location to verify if everything was working fine before I get enrolled again
And I found out they lied to bring you there , then they push you to sell you a membership and third they are rude and un polite!
Go to other gym this place is always bad.

Veronica is a great teacher. She takes her time with warm ups and cool downs, she cares about her students posture and form. And her class is totally worth it!!! Every coach should be like her.

However, what makes LA fitness lose its value is teachers like Caridad showing up 10mins late and wasting people’s time. The women in her class who put up with this are not being taught discipline. Your teacher is NOT in your side, nor does she want you to succeed you not investing money in yourself if you put up with that. Your time is valuable and that teacher should be replaced. La fitness managers need to have standards for their classes if they’re going to charge what they charge now.

Horrible experience with this location. From entering to speaking with guest services was crappy interaction. The front desk gestapo wanted an ID for a guest pass. Said okay and stepped to side for locating my ID. Decided it be better to ask for a tour of the locations so I could check out the boxing bags. Since that was reason for wanting guest pass. This employee interrupted conversation between another employee to jump into the conversation. If I could figure out why this employee decided it be imperative to interrupt guest services from doing their job, it would be comforting... The previous la fitness I was a member of had friendly staff. I know you don't need show an Id to receive a tour of a gym.... Why are your employees taking upon themselves to interrupt an established method of communicating with customers trying create clients. A pleasant experience is supposed be welcome at location. I wanted rejoin an la fitness as I moved closer from the one off university. Y'all need a new manager....

I’m really disappointed with this gym. The manager doesn’t allow entry without any valid reason. I’m paying $70 a month to be able to bring guests with me, yet I’m not allowed to. There’s never any available equipment, and the place itself is not clean at all. It’s a shame – I expected professional service and at least basic maintenance from a place that claims to be a fitness center. Probably one of the dirtiest LA Fitness gyms I have ever been too. I’ve been coming to this gym for a year and I feel like it’s getting worse over time. The bathrooms are always dirty with an awful smell. It is also hard to wipe down equipment as you work out. They have wipe stations that don’t always have wipe. If someone needs to walk across the entire gym for a wipe, they aren’t going to clean the equipment.

Avoid this gym. Management is absent or incompetent because this place is nasty. Overcrowded because the front desk people are too busy on their phones. Why is it constant problems with the dumbbells at this gym it’s been this way for years and they refuse to address the problem. It’s a crazy safety hazard, tripping over dumbbells and plates everywhere they refuse to monitor and make people put the weights back. My husband has been going to this gym since 2014, and yesterday he took me to enroll too. However, the attitude of the staff who assists me when I register is the worst. There's a woman with a very robust build... she's very clumsy. Now we decided to go to Planet Fitness, where they treated us cordially.

I have been a member of la fitness since 2002. I have been going to this hollywood location for over 10 years. This gym has everything you need to workout and advance your fitness goals. If its your first time working out or if you have been doing it for 20 years you can achieve your goals here. It is clean, modern and fairly priced. The gym has a good vibe and a friendly atmosphere. A big part of working out and seeing results is you get out of it what you put in. Here it feels effortless to get the job done.

I am the type of person that notices everything. There are a couple of employees that have really impressed me. Like, if I had a business....I would say name your price i Want you to work with me.

Mark, a young man that works at the front desk. This guy is something special. Always smiling, always in a good mood. It's like his happiness and positive attitude is contagious. He really enjoys his job and is helpful and polite and people enjoy being around him and its like he sets the tone as soon as you walk in.

Maria, a young lady in sales. I normally dont go back in that area often but she caught my attention when 2 male members were having a disagreement (it happens at every gym). I see Maria come in and de escalate the situation calm the guys down. They shook hands and it was over. I was just so impressed how she handled that. So I paid attention to her because she had impressed me in that moment. Maria is always positive and hustling trying to encourage members to bring people to start their fitness journey. It's not easy because she gets a lot of no thanks but she still stays persistent. Always has a friendly smile and is helpful polite and a pleasure. She cares and today a lot people dont care. So it's a fresh of breath air when I see young people doing the right thing, making customers happy and their positivity spreads.

I would suggest this gym to anyone. Employees like the ones they have here make the gym an enjoyable place to go.

Lousy management and inexcusable maintenance. This year alone, the pool and Jacuzzi were down due to the heater being broken for over a month. Both were too cold to get in. All the soap dispensers in the men's showers have been pulled off the wall for weeks. Management has been saying "they're on their way," but if you were a smart managers, you would have replacement spares on hand. Now the sauna is broken for god-knows-how long, and the showers need to be either pressure washed or re-tiled, because the grout is covered in mildew. This used to be a decent gym, and maybe the weights and strength equipment are maintained, but for those of us who just use the pool for lap swimming, this place has become a disgrace.

I posted the above a few years ago. Things got better for a while, but they are sliding down to the same level of mismanagement that they had a few years ago. Four out of 8 of the men’s shower soap dispensers had been broken off. Today there was no hot water in the showers, and they have still done nothing with the 20+ year old shower heads that only spray a fine mist, and the tiles and grout are in worse condition than they were a few years ago and need to be stripped and replaced. You register a complaint and it just goes in one ear and out the other. Keep your expectations low if you sign up with this gym.

The most unusual and unpleasant thing in this gym La Fitness, I was training on the elliptical for 8 minutes and an external worker who subcontracts the gym to do maintenance on the machines arrives and asks me to get off the machine in an aggressive and despotic manner, I tell him that I have 7 minutes left to finish and he tells me I have 10 seconds to get off or he will smash my face in, then he pushes the machine at me and knocks down my phone, I call the person at the front desk who is useless and tells me that I have to get off because the machine is supposedly damaged and I say it has no sign of maintenance and I move to another machine to finish my workout and the external worker practically steals my phone and that if I want it I have to fight for it outside the gym, La Fitness only called the police and they returned my phone to me and that I had to train for three days away from the external employee, what a garbage gym today canceled my 9 year membership

I recently visited the LA Fitness location in Hollywood with a friend to try out their yoga class, even though it’s not our usual home gym. We didn’t have our yoga mats with us, but the front desk attendant, Marc, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Not only did he find two mats for us, but he also took the time to clean them thoroughly before handing them over. His kindness, professionalism, and welcoming attitude truly stood out.

Marc’s customer service was exceptional, and it made our experience incredibly enjoyable from the moment we walked in. It’s not often you come across staff who go out of their way with such genuine care, and Marc absolutely did.

I also want to extend a big thank you to his operational manager, Joel, for clearly leading by example and fostering such a supportive team.

It’s nearly impossible to find an available machine, and when you do, chances are it’s broken or in poor condition. Maintenance seems like a low priority here.

Worst LA fitness in the area. The people who go here have little to no gym etiquette. They leave their weights everywhere and the staff doesn’t really do much about it but put signs up. Everyone leaves weights everywhere. Dumbbells can be found in the saunas if you really want to hunt for them. My first time at this location, equipment was ok, but if a customer is coming to the front desk and is asking the clerk for a question she can't just turn around and continue talking with someone who was not an staff member, still if the guy that was there talking with the receptionist she should put always first a customer, at the end after a while it was like I wasn't there even though I said to her that I had a question, u can check your cameras July 3 around 5:50. This is the only location where I hate working out because the people that come here are very disrespectful and dirty. They never listen to the employees telling people to rack the weights or the signs posted. They leave trash all over the restroom right after the staff cleaned.
The staff can’t keep up. I feel sorry for them. I’ve been to so many locations that are always organized and clean. This one for years has been a hazard just walking around trying not to trip on a dumbbell.

This LA Fitness has one of the biggest swimming pools and hot tubs of any I've seen in Broward County. And they keep it nice and warm. But the level of maintenance is terrible. The sauna has been out of use for six weeks. They are constantly running out of paper towels (why?). The mens' showers are missing curtains for the last 3-4 weeks. The showers themselves need total refurbishment. I have often complained about little blue flies in showers. Showers are not properly cleaned., always dirt and hair. maintenance staff don't seem to care about their jobs, constant turnover. Hot tub fails and takes weeks for repair. There is something fundamentally wrong with LA Fitness maintenance management. As a huge company they should have a warehouse of supplies spare parts waiting to be shipped.

This gym is one of the worst ones. I just use this gym for location convenience. I have visited at least five LA Fitness Gyms in the south Florida area and every last one of them have hand wipes. This gym has taken out their hand wipe stations (or the wipe dispensers are just sitting there empty and taped up); you have to use spray bottles to spray down the equipment. This is a huge inconvenience because you have to continue going to the counter or looking around for a spray bottle to spray off the equipment with. The customers take the spray bottles with them, so sometimes there aren't any left. Everyone's touching the same spray bottle and paper towel roll at the front counter. They have also taken out most of the garbage cans. There's like 2 garbage cans for the entire gym. If you want to throw your trash away you have to walk across the gym to toss it, so now there's trash everywhere because no one wants to walk across the gym just to throw away trash. Who is in charge? The floors do not look swept compared to the other gyms. There's always a lot of dirt and hair and all types of germy things around and underneath the equipment. I do not see anyone wiping down the equipment like they do at other gyms. It's a shame that I have to go out and purchase my own cleaning supplies. I honestly do not want to touch the same spray bottles that the whole gym has touched. Covid is still a thing. I just believe the people who manage this particular health studio is just lazy. Members beware! ( Some of the equipment needs to be changed out as well.) And hopefully noone gets sick while trying to maintain good health.

Having been to many LA fitness locations I think this one could definitely use some work. About 50% of the lockers are broken and literally hanging by one hinge. Not a very clean environment, on the gym floor and in the locker rooms. No one racks their weights when finished so it is difficult to tell what is being used and what is not. I will continue to go only because it’s the most convenient location for me but have been considering driving to a further location because I have heard it is better taken care of.

Be careful of the management of this place . Deceitful misrepresentation of facts, straightforward lying and misleading of members . Rarely I encountered such low work ethics. Personal training is a joke . Keep in mind it’s 25 minutes of training with half of it little bike cardio. Some of my sessions were limited to total of 10 minutes of actual training . After they got your money they don’t respond to any texts, Joel just hang up on me . They require you to cancel in person , another low trick they use and when you get there ussualy this person “will be back in 2 hours”. They have their tricks on how to give you runarounds and not cancel . Unfortunately no complains will work with upper management . These 2 Gabriela and Joel been there for many years and I suspect they are encouraged and trained to pull all these tricks on members. Hope one day they have a law suit coming at them.

LA Fitness charged our account by over $300 and the solution was freezing our membership so that we can’t “be charged” but “we can still use the facilities,” but now we’re being told we can’t even use the gym since our account is frozen. Absolutely ridiculous. The girls at the front desk were so rude and not helpful at all.

Equipment @ the Hollywood location off 56th Ave has horrible equipment. Everything is worn out. Most of the Hammer Strength machines are extremely out of alignment. Some of the arms are up to 2-3 inches off from the opposite side. This place is in desperate need of maintenance and new equipment. At least the locker room here doesn't smell like a port-a-potty.... Do better LA Fitness.

It's a good gym, you can get a discount on membership if you sign up through your insurance or AAA. There is enough equipment and duplicates of the equipment that there is rarely a long wait. On the weekdays the best time to go is between 12-4p or after 7p to miss the busy time. At the Hollywood location, the locker rooms are pretty clean and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and the equipment is in good shape. Some equipment has seen better days but since there are duplicates of everything I find the one I like best and always go to that one.

3 weeks the cycle room ac has been broken. Every class our teacher says tomorrow… and it hasnt come. 5:30pm clases are a sauna. Not safe. No mats for the yoga class. All of them are ripped or filthy dirty. We can do better- they added two vents non working — useless!

Terrible customer service. I came in today looking to get a membership with a friend and the front desk didn’t even acknowledged us and when they did they were rude. They directed us to a sales associate woman and she didn’t even greet us and only said “are you guys even interesting to join for real?” like so unprofessional. Didn’t even read us the packages or the 3 day free trial that was advertised. They offered us no tour and when we decided to leave due to the lack of customer service she handed our ID’s and didn’t even say a word just sighed and rolled her eyes.
Don’t go to this L.A fitness they will treat you horribly.

I signed up for a 3-day free trial at the LA Fitness near my new house. Even though I registered online, they told me the gym was too busy and could only allow me to work out for one day, despite clearly advertising a 3-day trial on their social media and website. After insisting, they finally granted me the full 3 days. A few days later, I went back to try the gym at a different time, but the manager refused my pass, saying I couldn’t work out there without a membership and that the person who allowed me before had made a mistake. They even suggested I might be at the wrong location, despite having my QR code that clearly stated a 3-day free trial. I’ve decided to go to another gym that’s further away but actually cares about their clients.

The equipment is old, it has no small weight, and the few that have are scattered and almost impossible to find, it has very few bars, the machines are all mixed, you have to go out looking for where the other leg machine is for example, because there is no organization of the machines as in other gyms where you divide lower and superior and cardio.

I've been a member of this gym for some time now, and while the community of gym-goers is fantastic, there are several significant issues that need addressing.

Staff Behavior: Unfortunately, the behavior of some staff members is a major drawback. Shama Diaz and Gabriella C. are particularly rude, often enforcing gym etiquette in a demeaning and sarcastic manner over the loudspeaker. It’s true that members sometimes leave free weights and equipment scattered, but there are better ways to address this than treating us like children. Additionally, some trainers, such as Ton and an older blonde lady, are equally rude. They demand you move out of the way for their clients, sometimes even in the middle of your set, with little regard for courtesy. It’s disheartening to hear them complain about members to their clients.

Outdated Equipment: The gym equipment is quite outdated. Many weights are rusty, and the pins on machines often get stuck, making it difficult to set the desired weight. The recumbent bikes have broken pedals, and the gym mats are in poor condition.

Cleanliness: Cleanliness is another area where this gym falls short. There aren’t enough cleaning stations or garbage receptacles, resulting in a general lack of hygiene. Hair and dirt accumulate in the corners and around the machines, and the women’s bathroom often has a foul smell and even roaches.

Despite the strong sense of community among the members, these issues make the gym experience less than ideal. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements.

On Memorial weekend, I went to check out LA Fitness on Sheridan St, and I was planning on signing up... Upon entering, I was greeted warmly by a staff member, which I told i was interested in signing up and if i could have a tour. "Sure!" She said energetically. Let me take you to one of our sales reps that will show you around. Then it was all downhill from there. I was led to a cubicle where the sales rep, Z_ _ had her hoodie over her head and was sleeping. I had to wait for her to get herself together, and she was totally annoyed that I had disturbed her sleep. After some questioning at her desk and mind you, she never made eye contact and started to give me a "tour" that was totally unenthused as if she's doing me a favor. Walking into the locker room area, the locker room, pool, and sauna were filthy and stinky. The equipment looked outdated. The gym, I'm sure, at its prime, it was fantastic, but now, with a lack of care, it really left much to be desired. Ita really too bad. Needless to say, I didn't sign up.

After visiting many Gyms in the area and the Pompano location, I can only give this gym two stars.
The main reason being the equipment is so old and beat up, they should be ashamed of themselves charging what they charge every month for membership fees. The LA Fitness in Pompano is fantastic and has only been open a couple of years and what a difference. Will try the new one in Plantation and I"m sure it will be as good as the one in Pompano.

Busier résistance training area than the average for this size of a gym. The résistance training equipment is a little old but offers a more than adequate number of options for any body part. I switch locations usually every year and maintain 2 or more gym memberships. This club is often crowded in the resistance training area, but I can adapt my workouts to avoid waiting for any single piece of equipment. The Pec-Decks are always taken despite having 3 machines, one being an older variation of the machine. Daycare is why I train here, and the childcare department is wonderful. The only downside is Friday and Saturday have only childcare till 11 am and no evening childcare. Sundays have zero childcare, but the weeknights from Monday to Thursday have childcare from 5 pm to 8 pm. I would recommend this gym to people needing childcare and intermediate-level lifters. I can't perform a more advanced routine due to the crowds and the gym's overemphasis on cardio equipment and basketball, plus raquette ball courts and pool. There are swimming lessons offered to children, another plus for parents. This gym is a solid 4/5 star gym based on all relevant factors.

I had been trying to use a 3 day freepass for a while. First, I went at 5:30 am and the lady at the front desk sent me back because I could only ise it after seeing someone from the sales team, who only arrives at NOON.. When you get the freepass online it doesn’t say that you have to redeem it at a specific time.. it just says, go and scan the QRCODE to get in. Anyways, because I work at that time, I had to wait 4 weeks to go there again and when I finally got there they told me it had not been 1 year since I was a member and I couldn’t use the freepass again. That is so ridiculous. You just lost a customer because of 3 days! I was going to enroll. Now, I’m on my way to get my freepass at Planet Fitness.
Oh, btw, the lady that is at the front desk in the morning is very rude. Should not be working with customer service.

My brother and I signed up for a 3 day trial as we had just moved to the area and wanted to try out the gym.

The staff were completely disorganized and the lady at the front desk told us we needed to “activate our trial” which translated to let the reps try to sell us on a membership.

My brother and I were each sat down with a different rep. My rep took my ID and said I need to leave it with him until the end of my workout and my brothers rep tried telling him he had to put down a credit card that would be auto charged in 3 days if he didn’t cancel it.

Neither of those are examples of the free 3 day trial we were offered online.

It was obvious they were trying to hard sell us into memberships and thank god they failed.

The gym sucks. From torn benches to mismatched equipment, no weights put back in their place and not a single sanitizing station in sight. It was clear that no one wipes down their equipment and the employees were useless and just looking for a sale.

0 stars if I could. What a terrible experience.

There is quite literally ONE set of 10 pound free weights available in the weight area. During peak hours this set of weights is a hot commodity and unlikely to be available. Floors are dirty in corners and showers often have nasty hair and are in serious need of re-tiling. Sauna is nice though.
