I feel the Lake Gray Blvd location is the most disgusting, dirty, and poorly run, lacking in attention from the owners or managers of Sporta or LA Fitness franchise!
Why are the other locations better? Are they cleaner? Is the staff friendlier? Sometimes I prefer to drive to 661 Blanding Blvd or University Blvd or Old St. Augustine because I simply don't understand why the health department hasn't closed that awful place.is very very sad 😔

Hey everyone listen, be careful with these people they will give you contract to sign with out any advice or tell you what you are sign in to, I signed up for the membership and 1 month personal training, they wanted me to do 3 months which I said no, I told him if I want to continue with the training I let you know, he said it's fine, but you still have to sign this document for me, I said ok and I signed them. Guess what he made signed a training contract for 3 months, I stated very clear to him let me try it for 1 month. I paid for 1 month training $333, and now they are trying to withdraw $284 out of my debit card. Don't sign up for anything without taking the time to read it, because you don't know what you are signing yourself to.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the group classes and have found a lot of enjoyment working out here that I haven’t in the past. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in the group class room has been out for at least two weeks. It doesn’t appear to be a priority to have to fixed. I emailed the club about it and got a dismissive response that “they’ve notified the vendor,” yet the AC is still out the next two times I’ve attended class. My score will be modified if they can get this issue resolved in a timely manner.
Update: It took over a month for the air conditioning to be fixed.

LA Fitness has some great facilities which we've enjoyed for many years, but this location is definitely not my favorite. The place is looking very shabby with many non-functioning machines, torn carpets, wear and filth that has collected on machines over a long time, etc. repairs are incredibly slow. And, while it is no fault of the facility, there is a local culture of people finger fondling their phones while just hanging out for extremely long times taking up machines. They need more sanitizing wipes and trash bins throughout because the scarcity of them on the floor acts as a deterrent to use. It's just a place in neglect and decline. I try to go to use other better locations whenever possible.

I have been a member here for over 2 years. I don’t usually leave reviews but I have recently visited the other locations in Jax and I’m tired of keeping my mouth shut about this facility. The other locations equipment are nicer, the staff is nicer, and the gyms just seem better organized and a better atmosphere. The equipment/machines at the Lake Gray location either are always broken or just suck to use. (Outdated) The bathrooms literally smell like straight bleach that burns your nose to even smell or has an awful smell or body odor/Pee/Poop. Most of the staff I encounter are rude and try and make it seem like we owe them something. Multiple times I have attempted to be nice and have greeted the staff at the desk and I get ignored. This has happened on multiple occasions from front desk members and from what seems to be the supervisor or manager.. It seems at times their personal conversations or their phones are more important than replying back to the gym members that try and say have a good day.The staff here has been super sassy and are not fun to talk to or approachable. I don’t want to hear any excuse or ppl trying to contact me. I just want this organization and the potential and current gym community to know what to expect. Have a great day to all!!

I'm gone 3-5 months a year and look forward to coming back and getting back into the routine workouts. Once again, I've come back and was let down. Let's see where to start:

Leg & Row equipment is STILL unreplaced, rusting more and looks severely dated.

Pool/Hot Tub is either over chlorinated or not enough ventilation. My eyes shouldn't burn just walking into the pool room.

Showers are at its lowest. The faucets are broken, or don't work. Soap dispensers are watered down with sewer water or something because it smells like sewage. Shower heads don't have a stream, and not to mention... more puddles of yellowing liquid .. lord knows what that is.

Feels less of a LA fitness and more like the eSporta that it was. If you're going to up the prices, up your quality in service. I'll give it a month, and see if anything improves before moving on.

It's the end of the year, new year resolutions are coming. Get it together before then and perhaps there might be a huge turn up in memberships.

Honestly abysmal. There was poop overflowing in the men’s locker room and cockroach poop in the lockers. Rust throughout the pool area, and overall a dirty establishment. Was there on a guest pass and the front desk staff couldn’t figure it out how to even process one. At one point it seemed as though they were signing me up for a membership by taking my picture, and asking other personal information… for just a guest pass. I intentionally got a receipt to make sure they didn’t overcharge ($20 is high for a guest pass too), and they couldn’t figure out how to do that. Stood there for a good 5 minutes just trying to get a receipt. Unprofessional service and unprofessional staff. This was a trial run as I had never been to an LA Fitness, but never again will I go to any of them nationwide. Couldn’t care if they banned me cause of this review.

I had a horrible experience at my last gym, (PF) They were charging me after I had cancelled. They smelled of mold. It was a circus if you ask me.
So I decided to checkout some other gyms, and that’s when I met Dani. She’s a girl by the way. She gave me the tour of this amazing place, which you’re going to fall in love with. It’s like an adult play house.. So incase you get tired of working out, there’s so much more to do. So long story short, Dani help me to understand it’s important to be happy in the gym you workout in. Also that it’s ok to invest more money into a more Elite gym. That your mental health is as important as your physical. When I say I would never go back. That this is my home away from home…
Great workers. clean safe and a positive environment. If you’re going to join a gym this would be the best place. This location.

Great gym! Love the pool and basketball court inside. Very spacious in the restrooms and lots of privacy.

Gave it 4 stars due to the lack of sanitary options around the gym. The wipes dry up very fast which causes consistent walk back and forth from the machines to the dispenser. I started bringing my own spray bottle and rag, especially after COVID.

I also think the turf should be extended. It seems difficult at times to find a spot, many keep on running into each other while exercising to get weights. One of the squash courts is always empty so I think one should be used as an extension to the turf instead of the squash court.

It was my first time at this location. I usually go to the one on Kernan and Atlantic. The people were semi-friendly and the area was a little smaller than what I’m used to. I did enjoy some newer equipment for legs and glutes but noticed the outdated treadmill I was on. I’d come back but wouldn’t come regularly since it’s far from me.

I have been a member at this location for a few years, I primarily stay a member for use of the basketball court. I came to the location today to find the roof leaking yet again not allowing full use of the gym. The goal closest to the door also needs repairs. These repairs have needed to be made for a while now and I would imagine that a successful establishment such as this one would keep their investment in tip top shape. Hopefully this area of the gym will receive the attention it deserves and I will continue to visit this location.

They made me subscribe with the kids' club included. After doing so, I went to train another day and I couldn't do anything because they told me that the kids' club was closed without notice of reopening. Pool temperature is not always 82 sometimes on the cool side. Need to be same as other location on policy, had to call headquarters on an issue. Taking locks off lockers after hours, NOT during operating time and not only one or two but all lockers with notes on lockers! Also, notes on the locker should be updated, not 3 days after the date. But I will say. front desk workers were great.

The gym has had a broken rim for about 6 months. This location does not care about maintaining there facilities properly. The basketball courts walls are always dusty and the floors are packed with dirt and never mopped. As a customer I often have to ask for the dust mop to tidy up the space. LA Fitness has a lot of equipment more than other gyms I've been to, especially different types of cardio machines. You never have to wait to get on one. It has a pool, jacuzzi, and sauna, big locker room. Big class room for Zoomba and other classes. They have many variations of weight machines for all muscle groups, and a separate training area. I have been a member for 6 to 7 yrs. I have gone to other gyms to try them out, but I never like them better than LA Fitness. On occasion, they may have one or 2 machines in need of repair, but it always gets fixed.

Stopped by while on leave, Spencer and Nick are the dudes to go see! Extremely professional, well mannered and knowledgeable. They definitely run this place well. Clean and hardly very rarely ever did I see free weights just laying around like you see plagued at most other commercial gyms. Gym has a good amount of equipment, LOTS of cardio. Astro turf training field for your sports athletic needs pool, sauna/steam room, and large locker room. If I was staying in the area I would have joined without hesitation. Give it a shot!

I have always had absolutely no issues with Esporta. Nick, the assistant manager, was extremely helpful signing me up to get a membership. He was very knowledgeable and made sure I knew all the details. Just would like to brag about the staff at the 295 location. First off they have an AMAZING staff from top to bottom. Always professional and gives the members the upmost respect, Jasmine and her front desk staff greets you entering or leaving the building. Almost feels like you’re at Chick - fil -A just without the food, their managers are superb. Spencer and Josh even greets you from the sales side, the whole staff makes sure the locker rooms and bathrooms are always clean and the clean up crew is even friendly and will hold conversation with you as well. Spencer and Josh is great at following up with your results regardless if you have PT or not they genuinely care. Jasmine and Spencer are the two who stands out the most and makes the whole club shine. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a gym home.

Front desk was rude when I came in to cancel my membership. After being a member for over 5 yrs I decided to cancel since I wasn’t using it. They stated it can only be done Mon-Fri 8-6 however most working individuals work during these same hours. Oh when I paid my balance and realized the receipt said I authorized any future charges and I brought it to her attention that she didn’t disclose this so she then had an attitude trying to talk like I didn’t know what I was talking about. Then all of a sudden you can do the cancellation. Then to tell me She could have done it as a courtesy from the beginning but my attitude. Why would I have an attitude just to close an acct? First gym membership I've ever acquired so I can't compare this gym to others. I can only state the facility is very clean, neat and organized. The showers included. The only issue I have is with the annual fee schedule which wasn't listed in any advertisement. With the highest plan one will still end up paying a $50 annual fee after 15 days. This completely contradicts the misleading advertisement where the text and graphics indicate the highest membership plan has a $25 monthly fee and no other enrollment or annual fees. I only discovered the $25 membership has an annual fee while enrolling and signing up for my membership. Nobody I talked to nor any advertisement media explained this fee structure prior to my enrollment. Aside from this I have no complaints.

Have been coming here for years. Great classes, good equipment. The low rating has to do with the location, not safe at all, my coat and boots from Italy were stolen a couple of years back. Since then I switched locations to Blanding South and come to Lake Grey only 2 times a week for a Zumba class.

Normally wouldnbe five stars, but since Esporta became the name this place has gone downhill quite a bit. The hottub works for a couple weeks and then broken again, the sauna is the same way. Last week they had no hot water in the showers for 5 days then it was working and now its not working again. The place is pretty clean for a gym and I love going there. Hopefully they can get it together and get the issues fixed.

I go to this location 3-4 times a week in the morning. Had an issue and was contacted by Sam the Operations Manager. Sam, resolved my issue and was great!

My son was injured in their kids club and the operations manager Jasmin has avoided me since the incident. I've called countless times and they refuse to resolve this issue. My next step is to call JSO!

Been a member over a year, have thoroughly enjoyed use of facilities. Between GA and FL, gym locker rooms were very well kept. Appreciated that cleaning spray bottles provided to members for sanitizing equipment.
