I was a member of La Fitness for a few years in Texas. I moved to Jacksonville, Florida, and tried to ask about the prices and hours of this gym, but I was put off by the bad vibes the young woman and man outside the gym gave me. It seems they don't like Latinos very much. I'll look for another gym where they treat me well.

I really like this gym I just wish the hours were a little different, and then I wish the people working there would give you better information I was hurt for a year and I was not able to go to the gym and they told me my account was frozen but yet they were charging me $10 a month and then charged me the yearly fee knowing that I couldn't even go to the gym they told me that was my best option and I don't understand that if I'm paying $10 a month but I'm not even going and then you charge me the yearly activation fee or whatever that's the worst advice that you can ever get and I tried numerous times to get it canceled and then I was just going to resign up and nobody there wanted to cancel it they kept transferring me transfer me and then finally the guy said he was in charge and he was able to give me the yearly fee back but I lost that $10 a month and for no reason I do like the gym I just wish they would care about the people that come to the gym!!

You guys have a young lady working at front desk who barely understands English. Took me a few times to explain to her the basics of my needs. The other man who came up, he said he's in the middle of calls. No "sorry" or "excuse me", no smiles, no politeness.

On June 16 at 2:00 P.M. ,The operations manager guy just came to me while I was on equipment and harassed me about my sign in procedure. The clerk Mike checked me in after a miscommunication about him getting my phone number. Mike checked me in , problem solved, but the know-it-all, micro-managing, eavesdropping operations manager came over to me while I was on equipment and escalated and the situation.
An operations manager should never go over to a guest and escalate a situation that is resolved. Bad business. Not comfortable at all. He went out of his way to come over to a guest , a well-paying, veteran guest, and proceeded to harass me about my sign-in. Maybe the operations manager should have the clerks be ready to check-in guests instead of sitting at their desk with their leg on the chair looking at their phones.
After a membership of five years @ 37.00 a month and a once a year fee of 52.68. we are cancelling after the current months up.
Look elsewhere for a gym.

Worst experience I've had at a gym, they have 5 salesman at the front, the equipment is good but half the stuff needs to get tightened down because it's loose when you get on it. You can't really wipe down the equipment because the wipes are dry, and when you get to the wipes there's signs saying you can advertise all over the place. You get harassed when you walk in by a charity. The whole place is a big money grab. Keep your money and go to a better place.

So honest review, I’ve been to a ton of LA fitnesses and for the price of $60+ a month that we all pay the dispensable water/gatorade machines have been down for close to a month now. There’s no towel service (which I know isn’t the norm but for the price, c’mon) and sometimes you have to wander around to find a tricep rope. The staff is awesome, but the standard needs to be higher to justify the price point. I could just go to another one but this one’s the closest. One of the worse LA fitness’s I’ve been too. I get harassed every time coming in it doesn’t matter what it’s about whatever it’s about my membership, being a guest, having a bag or even working out. They tend to mess with the black men in the basketball court as well. Bothering them at least 3 times during 1 hour period. Bothering them back to back to back not letting them play in peace at all. Whenever they do say something to them , the staff yells at them like their dogs. At this location they won’t let us bring any coolers or bags that “look like a cooler”. LIBBY called my man’s phone at 9AM in the morning to “ discuss the cooler “ but said something about it last week & we haven’t brought it back since 🤔. I have 10+ messages from them & IM JUST A GUEST! Literally the worst management and worst LA fitness’s to come to. The manager also asked me to come for a job interview but never responded or gave me a follow up after my interview ( weird ) . Management and team sucks & one question 🤔 how yall work at a gym but look like yall sit on y’all’s couch all day eating potato chips ice cream and a whole gallon of milk? Cooperate is definitely being called.

I no longer had access to Silver Sneakers after switching Medicare providers. Now I have Renew Active, which allows me to use all LA Fitness locations.

This is my favorite LA Fitness location. I love the floor layout, I never have trouble getting the machines I need, everything is clean, and it's usually not crowded. Equipment is well maintained and the management and staff are excellent. Generally easy parking. I have a location closer to my home, but I find this location to be much better - well worth the extra drive.

It not the gym that keep me here but the people, I been here since 2016/17 and never I heard anything or seen anything that the young black males get while at the gym, they harass them about bags on the basketball courts that are off to the side but nothing about turning on the heat in the gym. Outside weather is 50 degrees but the gym basketball court that the young mens play on is 40 degrees but the rest of the gym is heated, make that make since, they half to beg for the floors to even be swept. I have seen the same manager walk pass a basketball court full of Caucasian with bags on floor and there is no issue but if they're African desent or Mexican..they will threatened 15-20 men on shutting down the court for one bag. There are cops, business men, navy vets (myself and Friends)students, teachers and nurses. Mostly everyone knows everyone. We are just asking for some heat, floors swept and respect.

I initially signed up for personal training sessions at LA Fitness for one day per week. During the sign-up process, I was offered a trial period of two sessions per week with the assurance that I could revert to one session per week if I notified them more than a week before billing. I followed their stated policy and provided notice two weeks in advance that I wished to return to one session per week due to financial constraints, which I had also disclosed when signing up.

Despite providing sufficient notice, I was billed for two sessions per week. When I disputed this, the staff claimed that I had never requested the change and insisted that I had agreed to the two-session arrangement from the beginning. They refused to make any adjustments to my account or billing. Frustrated, I informed them that I intended to cancel all services and would seek legal assistance through the Navy. Only then did they agree to revert to one session per week.

I continued the reduced training for about a year but faced similar challenges when I eventually decided to cancel the personal training altogether, although I opted to keep my gym membership at that time. Unfortunately, this decision led to further issues when I later attempted to cancel the gym membership itself.

When I tried to cancel my membership in person, I was informed that only the operations manager could process cancellations. I was told they would email the manager on my behalf to communicate my request, but no action was taken, and they attempted to charge me again. This behavior reflects a lack of transparency and poor business practices.

Based on my experience, I will not sign up with LA Fitness again. In my opinion, a reputable business should rely on the quality of its services and facilities to retain customers rather than creating barriers to cancellation or charging individuals against their will.

Most equipment is past its usefulness days. All cardio with an ipod charging port is rusted and disconnected. The juice bar has not been open for long time. Hi. This week I joined LA fitness on university blvd in Jacksonville Florida. I first met the club representative Danielle within the past two weeks. I am new to the area and have been doing my best to navigate my way around and discover local amenities. When I approached Danielle about the possibility of a membership with the club she immediately gave me a warm greeting. She explained the.various membership packages in an easy to understand language without an overly assertive demeanor. She then offered me a five day pass and gave me a tour of the facility. Upon my next visit she asked me how I liked the facility so far and if there was any further clarification or assistance not to hesitate to ask. I was impressed at her professionalism and made the decision to join at that point. I did want to make the management aware of this fact as dedicated and competent employees can sometimes be challenging to employ. I most gratefully enjoy coming to this gym at this location. All of the workers are friendly and helpful at all times that I've been there . My trainer Shakira is definitely amazing at getting me back on track. My previous gym didn't feel friendly and was hard to connect with people . Coming to the gym is a must for me, my physical and mental health and I'm glad that I've found a place I care to go to without feeling like I don't belong there . This gym are crooks and scammers. I signed up to get a training session with a trainer. They told me Alexis would be my trainer. Well Alexis also works in me ever services. She wrote me up for 12mo. And reassured me I would not have a contract I could cancel at any time. Well now Alexis abruptly leaves I have to pay half of my year membership to break out of the contract. Did I mention she was never a certified trainer? I have been training with this lady since February and she is not certified. She told me when the certified trainers don’t want to train they make her do it. Everytime someone new comes in she trains them. IN THE CONTRACT THE IT SAYS YOU ONLY TRAIN WITH MASTER TRAINERS AND CERTIFIED TRAINERS. She always told me she was never suppose to train ppl and yal covered it up. Lied on my contract saying I trained with josh when I never seen this man a day in my life. Pull the cameras and you will see. My attorney will be involved with this! They are liars and manipulators. The director of training josh is incompetent and does not know how to communicate effectively he had me on hold trying to sort this out 20 times. I asked to be for corporate number he transferred me without providing it. As of now I am waiting on the vp to contact me by email. If nothing is done about this we will be going to court!

The manager Mr Hue treated me very unfairly as a new member and made me very uncomfortable. I asked to speak with his manager but he refused. So I contacted customer service to cancel my account at that time I had only been a member for less than a month. They offered a hold which I agreed to if Mr Hues manager would be reaching back out to me because I was not returning back to the gym until I could get this resolved. No one should feel uncomfortable. No one called me so I called today to cancel only to be told that I’m pass my 30 days now and could not be refunded. Basketball court always full. Yesterday 2 men were begging to come in with me under my membership to play basketball. I did not know these gentlemen I told them no. They walked right past the front desk receptionist. No one said nothing. That’s why the basket ball courts always full because people without memberships are just waking in free of charge. If it was that east why did I pay 200 initially and 44 dollars a month when you let people walk right in?

They got rid of the paper towels in the gym. How cheap is that? It’s not an inexpensive gym, they can’t even provide paper towels to clean equipment or towel off.

Rude staff!!! So sad they treat their customers like nothing after they get them to sign on. A trainer (Josh, lead trainer) snatched equipment without saying anything at all and gave us the dirtiest look. When bringing this to the general manager’s attention (JACKIE RESENDE) she simply blew it off as if the trainer had the right to do so. Being polite is free fyi

Horrible customer service, scammed.
Was not offered a walk through, had to sign up for a membership to check out the gym. After I signed up, I walked through the gym for a few minutes wanted to cancel it and was denied cancellation by Jackie. She said she was freezing my account and I would not be charged anymore. I was charged twice after that, my account was never frozen like promised. Had to talk to a supervisor who asked me to come in person to cancel my account and no refunds would be given. Super inconvenient and annoying experience.

New member- Yesterday I witnessed a very unprofessional encounter between the front desk staff, general manager and a non-gym staff individual. As a manager at a major corporation myself, I felt the general manager could have handled the situation differently, especially in front of others. The staff should always stay professional and never allow a situation to get them out of character - you never know whose watching!
