I visited the LA Fitness Mary Brickell location (900 South Miami Ave, Suite 236, Miami, FL 33130) today with a newly issued Free Guest Pass (ID: GP126531438) that I requested through their official website.
When I arrived, they refused to let me in, claiming that I needed a Florida state ID. Nowhere in the email or the Guest Pass terms does it mention that the pass is only valid for Florida residents or that a local ID is required. The only conditions stated were age verification and signing a waiver.
The staff at the front desk were extremely rude, unprofessional, and unwilling to acknowledge that this “policy” was not disclosed anywhere to the customer beforehand.
Offering promotional passes with undisclosed conditions and then treating visitors poorly at the door is a terrible way to do business. It was a frustrating and disrespectful experience, and I would not recommend this location unless they improve their customer service and provide clear information upfront. so that customers don’t waste their time.

This is by far the worst LA Fitness I’ve ever been to. The air conditioning doesn’t work properly, there’s always a shortage of weights, and many machines stay broken for weeks without repair. The place is disorganized and often dirty. It’s also one of the most expensive locations because it’s a Signature Club, which makes it even more disappointing. Unfortunately, there aren’t other options in Brickell, so I still go — but only because I have no choice.

Literally tried to call and this place was very unprofessional, I went to cancel my LA fitness membership when I moved to Miami and I was getting my card charged still for six months, I tried to call this location again to see why they were still trying to charge my card if I came to cancel. And the employees tried to make it like they couldn’t hear me on the phone and then gave me a corporate number. This location was super unprofessional and not to mention when I did work out there. Most of the machines for cardio were broken and the location seem dirty and unclean anyway.

This gym has turned into a serious health concern because the employees simply do not care. The lack of effort is obvious every day. Machines stay broken for weeks, floors are dirty, and equipment is never wiped down. There is no sign that regular cleaning or maintenance is happening.
The locker rooms are even worse. The smell, the grime, and the condition of the showers show complete neglect. Employees walk past trash and spills without doing anything about it. It feels like no one is responsible for keeping the place safe or clean.
This kind of neglect is unacceptable. Members are paying for a place that should be clean and well maintained, not something that feels unsafe to use. The environment is unhealthy and disrespectful to everyone who comes here to work out.
The situation will be reported to the city health department so an inspection can be done. It is clear that proper standards are not being followed, and someone needs to step in. The staff and management should be held accountable for the poor conditions they continue to ignore

My deep dissatisfaction with the current state of your gym in Brickell. The overall experience has been extremely disappointing and far below the standards one would expect from a fitness facility in this area.
Many of the machines are constantly broken and take an unreasonably long time to be repaired. The equipment that is available is often dirty and poorly maintained. The bathrooms are also in terrible condition, they are frequently filthy, and the towels provided are stained and unhygienic.
Additionally, the staff is generally unfriendly and unhelpful, which makes the environment even less welcoming. It also seems that memberships are being sold to individuals who appear to be using the gym primarily as a place to shower and store their belongings in trash bags inside the lockers. This creates an uncomfortable and unpleasant atmosphere for paying members who come to work out.
Overall, this gym has become a very poor experience, and I sincerely hope management takes immediate action to address these serious issues.

The overall space is outdated and when you walk into the facility there is a funky odor that hits you immediately (especially the green turf area, it smells like dog poop). If a machine is broken, multiple weeks pass by before it’s fixed. The weights are always disorganized, in areas they do not belong, and there seems to be no plan set by the staff and management to remedy this issue. Majority of the members there lack respect for the community and do not rerack their weights (this issue is not LA fault but happens all over Miami, the people can do better) The cardio equipment always has sweat marks on the belt of the machine and off to the side. I’ve been a member for over 2 years now and for a signature club it’s extremely disappointing. This location needs a refit ASAP.

I feel completely misled and scammed by LA Fitness Brickell. When signing up for personal training, Lorena, the sales agent, clearly told me — and my friend who signed up at the same time — that the contract was for 6 months. That was the only reason we agreed. Now, they’re telling me it’s a 9-month contract and that I have to pay a buyout fee to cancel.
The contract they make you sign is extremely long, and they pressure you to read it quickly so you don’t have time to review the details. Until now, I still have not received a copy of my contract by email, which makes the situation even more suspicious.
I have been trying to cancel my membership for over a month, but no one at the Brickell location is willing or able to help. Omar, the manager who is supposed to handle my cancellation and call me back, has never returned my calls. The personal training sales agents never answer or follow up, and the front desk staff have no idea who can assist or when they will be available.
The lack of accountability and refusal to help customers resolve issues is unacceptable. Both my friend and I feel taken advantage of, and I strongly caution others to avoid signing any personal training agreements here without carefully verifying every detail in writing.

El gimnasio tiene buen personal sin embargo la falta de mantenimiento es notable. El aire acondicionado no funciona bien, tiene goteos del techo al piso y utilizan canecas para recolectar el agua pero no lo han reparado. There is no reason this is a “signature” gym. It doesn’t have more equipment than a standard LA Fitness. In fact, for dumbbells, I’d say they have less than a standard LA. Only one set of most weight.
Just a grift to get an extra $10 from members.
Besides the lack of dumbbells, The biggest issue I found with this gym is the clientele. Zero consideration for other members and no one puts their weights back. If they do, they’re most likely in the wrong place. Guys will hoard 3 dumbbell sets at a time and workout at a snails pace.

If you're looking for a reliable gym with fitness classes, look elsewhere. This location's situation is dire:
- Morning classes have been drastically reduced.
- Morning Cycling classes have been eliminated altogether.
- Schedules are frequently changed at the last minute, leaving members confused.
- Classes are often replaced with filler sessions, such as stretching, without notice.
- Friday's schedule is particularly barren, with only one class focused on breathing exercises.
- Instructors from Brickell branch are being pulled to other branches, leaving this location with inadequate staffing.
- Management, specifically Miranda, is unresponsive to member concerns and messages.
I've even questioned whether this facility is going bankrupt, but staff seems evasive. The lack of transparency and accountability is alarming, making me wonder if this place is running a scam. If you are looking for fitness classes, I strongly advise against joining this gym.

Well one word to describe this gym is Disgusting. Locker room and showers crawling with roaches and flying p trap bugs, dirty floors, every other counter may have paper towels. Bathrooms reek of urine. Sauna floor and benches absolutely nasty. The morning janitor works non stop but he can’t keep up with the mess left from the night before. No yoga mats to use cause they keep them locked up if they have any at all. Unlike other la fitness centers. There is Lots of equipment to use but there is no etiquette for re racking weights and keeping gym usable for all. There was one front desk employee who was remind folks but unfortunately he’s gone. The front desk manager was made aware of a security and rule breaking concern and basically said she can’t do anything about it. With this location being in such a prime location you would think it would have some standards of cleanliness and rule keeping. Ohh and I’ve been to multiple locations across the state this has to be bottom 3. Seems there is constant roof leaks and A/c repairs. Lots of room for improvement. Hopefully something will be done soon 🤞

It is unacceptable that this place is always in this state: weights everywhere on the floor except on the rack, wipes on the floor, total chaos. I always have to look for the weights everywhere and I lose training time. They should have someone who cleans and tidies up before opening at 5 am.

Bad shower experience. All LAF Locations need to update the shower heads- they look like prison showers. The strength of the water from the shower was very weak and my shower went cold 🥶 after like 12 minutes. Some soaps are put into containers with incorrect labels. (The container said “hand soap”, but it holds shampoo).
2 showers were out of order. 1 sink was not turning on.
Was too crowded around 7:30 pm, so I left. I’m planning to cancel the membership and hopefully find a gym that’s not too crowded all the time.
Pros:
They have glass shower doors instead of curtains.
They have private dressing rooms.
Soaps are provided in showers.
This location has less rusty and moldy fixtures. Lol

Please gotta review your membership plans and guest policies with staff. Arrived as someone’s guest yesterday around 7am and was charged $20.00 because the front desk lady said someone other than her had to activate the pass after 9am.
We travel quite often and have never had an issue using a guest pass. I was allowed to work out w/an out of town ID for $20. Two hours later I came back at 9am to activate the pass and with food in her mouth while chewing she said I couldn’t cause I needed a valid Fl license (same lady, two hours later 👀)
I had to explain I given a guest pass by a member and they said oh yeah that’s different.
The male Spanish manager activated my pass and never mentioned that with our plan when visiting that we would have to pay. Today they charged the primary member for not having a signature plan when we have a grandfathered plan. I so happen to have stayed home but can’t imagine what that conversation would have looked like at 6am given that you are making things as you go.
As for the gym - I was never given a tour after paying $20.00 so I had to figure out where even the bathroom was located. The bathrooms were clean, but for signature pricing it needs some signature cleaning around the gym.

Way too much cardio that is always empty. Not enough weight machines for the traffic flow.
Never get a good workout, spend most of it standing in line angry waiting for something to open.

Came here to register for a membership and there was no one who spoke English. I got transferred to 2 different people and neither of them spoke English. They insisted there was no one that could help and i will have to have my gf translate. I ended up leaving the establishment not know why my sign up never went through, due to lack of communication. I recently joined the Brickell LA Fitness Signature Club, and I am deeply disappointed with the facility’s condition and maintenance. While I understand that LA Fitness aims to provide budget-friendly options for gym-goers, the state of this “signature” location is far below acceptable standards.
Here are some of the most pressing issues I have observed:
• Facility Maintenance: Missing ceiling tiles, persistent leaks, and broken water fountains create an unwelcoming and unprofessional environment.
• Health and Safety Concerns: Areas of the gym lack functional air conditioning, resulting in high humidity levels that increase the risk of mold growth—especially concerning in Miami’s climate. This poses a serious health risk to members. Considering leaks, mold may also be harbored throughout the ceiling and walls.
• Equipment Availability: Equipment is frequently missing, and essential items such as proper pads for hip thrusts are entirely inadequate. For example, the only option available is a decade-old pool noodle, which makes lifting unsafe and uncomfortable. Investing in new pads (which cost around $30 each) should not be out of reach for a club of this tier.
These conditions are unacceptable, particularly for a gym located in the Brickell area, where members expect higher standards. While I understand this is a budget-conscious gym, the current state of the facility reflects poorly on management and the LA Fitness brand overall.
I have included pictures to illustrate the concerns outlined above and hope this feedback will prompt immediate improvements.

As usual the sales people try to trick you. I called and asked for the membership cost and they didn’t mention their ridiculous deal of the first and last month + anual fee, so the cost I originally got was not even close tot the final total. The annual fee was what I find the worst part because what if you don’t like the gym afterwards and you already paid that?
Also, when the moment of signing and paying came I didn’t want it just because I do not like people trying to trick, the sales person ofer me her family members discount, but I couldn’t use it other day, it had to be that day - she was desperate. Then she try to pressure me offering me another promo, and same thing, it was only until that day. Then she said I can change my mind and ask for a refund - very desperate she was.
You also need to take into consideration that they validate a portion of parking, but it will be very difficult you find parking + do you workout within the time the validate, so plan to budget for parking aswell.
It is crazy when there are plenty of options for the sane price but better or even cheaper and same service.

Beware There’s a Reason for the Bad Reviews!
I visited this gym on Saturday at 5:45 PM with a free guest pass that was clearly advertised for this location. The sales associate, Jessica, immediately told me that they “don’t have guest passes,” contradicting their own advertising. Then, she claimed she would give me a pass only if I booked an appointment with a sales representative.
I asked if we could set an appointment to discuss the membership further, but Jessica said nobody would be available to help that day or even the next day. She then walked away to supposedly call “Ruben,” a manager (the name was mumbled so I’m not even sure it’s the correct one). Yet, when another person walked in asking about membership options, Jessica was all smiles assisted and sat with the young man.
In the end, I reluctantly paid the $20 guest fee, only for the staff to inform me that the gym closes in an hour after I paid. If I had known that from the start, I might not have bothered, as it completely defeated the purpose of my visit.
I felt brushed off unless I was willing to commit on the spot. The experience left a terrible impression, and I can see why others have left bad reviews. If you’re looking for a gym that respects your time and what they advertise, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

My experience at this gym has been nothing short of transformative. It’s not just about the physical changes I’ve made but also the incredible people I’ve met along the way. The coaches here go above and beyond—they’ve completely revamped my diet and regularly check my body fat percentage every two weeks to keep me on track.
The front desk staff are always welcoming and friendly, making every visit feel like coming home. A special shoutout to Camilla, who has not only been helpful but also become a great friend.

It's a good gym, but you have to be careful before signing up for a membership, because they are not transparent when it comes to making offers. They trick you by telling you that they have a deal of the day, so that you sign up right now and if you sign up today you save $99 on the registration fee, and then the membership they offer you is not real. They offered me a supposed membership where I could access any L.A. fitness in Miami, however when I went to another location they charged me $10 and when I made the complaint at the location where I signed up they told me without any shame that my membership did not include access to all the locations, and they told me that I had to pay more money. Then I think the manager came and he didn't even apologize. He just told me that I had to pay more money and that was it. That if I paid the $99 initiation fee I could access any L.A. Fitness in Miami, when on the day of registration they told me that I would save the fee if I signed up that same day, I think that is not ethical and I think that a manager should take another attitude. Therefore I think that I will suspend my membership not for the money but for the deception and distortion of information!

I have never felt the need to leave a review for any business before. I want to thank Yelena for helping me save money by not joining this gym. I was interested in joining for the fitness classes offered. Before granting me the 3 day trial pass, I was subjected to 30 minutes of being talked down to about my weight and fitness goals as they were "not enough." A random trainer (Shaggy) who was massaging Yelena's neck during the first half of our discussion decided to tell me "3 days a week isn't enough," despite telling both of them multiple times I am trying to begin a new fitness journey and need to work myself up. I have never felt so humiliated at a gym. After telling Yelena I did not appreciate how I was being talked to, she decided to change her entire tone and say that she was going to end the conversation soon anyway and the class I wanted to try was starting. I decided to leave and do a trial of Apple Fitness + instead, which I would highly recommend for a third of the price and no registration fee.

I had a terrible experience trying to cancel, they just won't let me. It's almost impossible even when you follow there processes. I decided "hell I will just change the card" and they had the audacity to change it and put my friends card ( we sing up together we have different accounts), completely outrageous, not professional and terrible management.

Regional team should review this gym manager (Roder), their closing practice and the female staff member who refused to provide her name when I asked for GM contact info before leaving.
Roder (apologies if I misspelled) every evening goes around gym and says "gym is closing in 3-4 min" when really the gym closes in 5-6 min. Intentionally trying to close gym earlier than closing time. Then he announces on intercom the gym is closed 2 min prior to closing, and walks around saying gym is closed and "hurry up" at 9:58 or 9:59pm even before the gym is truly closed. He'll also say on the intercom 10 min prior "this is your last set". The staff also turns lights out in lockerrooms 5 min early, a safety hazard.
I've mentioned to him 2-3 times before the gym is not closed yet which he ignored and would keep walking. This evening he did same thing closing early, telling ppl to "hurry up" right at 10pm so I kindly stopped him while packing my bag right at 10pm and asked him to please stop closing the gym early and telling ppl the wrong times as he does every evening. He instantly starting yelling at me, telling me "it's 10:01pm why am I still there I should have left already". He kept yelling, cussing at me, called me an idiot and said since I'm still there at 10:01pm he's going to cancel my membership (which is retaliation for me making a complaint). I was so harassed I was about to record him to show management later but he said he would "call the police on me" if I recorded him so I didn't.
I then proceeded to walk towards the gym exit, he followed me continuing to yell at me, telling me he's going to close my membership so I stopped by front desk and said I'd like to make a complaint and if I can have the manager's number/email. He then said he's the manager and so I asked for GM's business card or number/email. He claimed he cannot give out her personal info (business info for a complaint is not personal) and refused to give me any managers number/email, I recieved no info. The 2nd male employee behind the desk sat there and didn't say anything, there was a 3rd female employee with light-skin and black hair that came behind the desk and also told me they can't give any managers email/number. I asked for her name and she replied she's not giving her name and she doesn't work there (when she clearly was behind the desk and works there). No employee should refuse to give their name or lie that they don't work at an establishment just to avoid a complaint.
If you go to a store or restaurant, they may close at a certain time but they don't go around yelling and kicking customers out right at the exact second they close or intentionally close early. Per LA Fitness policy - staff shouldn't lie about closing time, or start asking people to leave until 5 min after closing has passed (10:05pm). This is a premium gym, not Planet Fitness. People do not need to be out of the gym at exact moment the gym closes, as long as they are making their way out... Customers shouldn't be yelled at or threatened retaliation for making a complaint. Or refuse to give a managers business card/info, or refuse to give their name.
I'm a working professional that works 9am-7pm, I go to the gym in the evenings. I shouldn't be harassed, yelled at, cussed at, called an idiot, threatened to close my membership, threatened to call police on, all because i make a complaint to please stop trying to close gym earlier than stated closing time. If the manager doesn't know how to provide customer service or wants to leave exactly at a certain time they should find a job that isn't customer/service related.
As a customer at a premium gym, I expect to be treated better and with respect.

I agree with some of the other reviews about LA Fitness in Brickell—the gym could be cleaner. The equipment is fairly modern and seems well-maintained, which is a plus, and they do offer towels along with nice showers that include soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers. While these amenities are convenient, the overall vibe of this location feels a bit colder and more urban compared to other suburban LA Fitness locations. Personally, I'd prefer to work out at a different LA Fitness, as this one just doesn’t have the same welcoming atmosphere I’ve experienced elsewhere.

If I could give 0 starts I would. To be a very “prestigious” neighborhood in Miami this gym is nothing but nasty. Ild equipment, its dirty everywhere and the smell is just disgusting. Unmatched weights, broken floor and also they charge for towels but somehow other clients come in ask for a towel and they dont charge them. They charge me once but not others so it varies. This place is just simply disgusting. Also, i saw the treatment of one of the personal trainers to his client and I would have complained bc he sure was not pleasant. I travel a lot for work and I will definitely not come back and its sad bc its next to my home. It is definitely NOT a Signature gym.

Been an L.A. Fitness member for decades, and was disappointed in this a supposedly "Signature" club. It wasn't even showing up on my GPS, then there's the parking hassle where you have to call a phone number to open the garage gate, then scan a bar code when you get to the front desk of gym, where staff is pretty cold & indifferent. You get 2 hours with validation for a nominal $1.50. Also, I had to walk down 2 flights of stairs as I parked on level 4 and gym is on level 2. I concur with some of the other reviews that gym is a bit dirty. Equipment is fairly modern and looks well maintained. Yes, they provide towels, and nice showers with soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers which is nice, but eh, I'd rather workout at another L.A. Fitness. Also has a colder urban vibe as opposed to other suburban locations.

Most of the staff here is fine, but management dropped the ball. I could not cancel my contract despite following the cancellation clause. I made several attempts to contact/visit and was eventually told they were working on it. I no longer received updates after that. I had to contact the corporate office to get someone responsive and helpful. Honestly, I’m more disappointed than anything.

This can put excessive pressure on the spine and potentially lead to injuries such as disk dislocation or hernia.
Secondly, there is a shortage of barbells in the weightlifting area. With three bench presses, two shoulder presses, one incline, one decline, and three squat racks, a total of 10 barbells are required. However, there are only eight barbells available, leaving two benches vacant at all times.
To address these issues and enhance the overall member experience, it is recommended that the gym invest in additional hip thruster machines and barbells to meet the needs of its members.

It really is the worst gym I've ever been to. Not because of equipment but mainly the smell. Whether it's in the locker room or the main floor the air flow was designed beyond poorly, it's a very moist/musty smell that is particularly bad in the morning near open and in the evening near close. At times the smell is just unbearably bad, I don't know why they can't get it together. For a "Signature Club" it's an embarrassment but I guess you get what you pay for and the price isn't terrible. Id bump to 3 maybe 4 stars if they could get the smell under control

I was trying to get to a fitness life but everytime I tried at other L.A Fitness locations they used to be very helpless and that took me away from trying to change my lifestyle. But then somebody recommended me this location and here I met coach Robert R, I love how he teaches me and also his sense of humor! Definitely definitely recommend, if I ever cancel my subscription is because the training sessions are a little expensive 🤣 but honestly is very worth it!!
