One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a gym. My friend, who's a member, sent me a three-day pass to work out together. I signed up via email and even received my QR code, but upon entering the gym, the ordeal began. The employees in charge of handling these types of requests didn't want to work. They made every excuse possible to make my workout impossible. We were there for 30 minutes arguing with them, until they gave in and let me in. Once inside, the experience didn't improve. A pile of damaged equipment and dried, stinky sweat everywhere. That equipment hasn't been cleaned in a long time. In short, they just lost a customer.

Been going to this gym for years and never had an issue, but the girl who works at the juice bar is making want to switch gyms at this point. Never seen an employee for an establishment with more attitude than her, went yesterday and pulled up to the juice bar at 8:28 and she told me she “opens at 8:30” as she’s chit chatting with another employee not doing anything and didn’t want to make me a shake lol easily could have just been nice and make one two minutes early. Besides that, every single time I go she always has such a bad attitude and I’m over it.

I came to try this gym using their 3-day pass, which can only be activated through a scheduled appointment. I booked mine for 8:00 a.m. and arrived early at 7:50. When I checked in, the woman at the front desk told me to “wait” because my appointment hadn’t started yet. without offering any help or even a friendly welcome. She simply said the person who was supposed to attend me hadn’t arrived yet. I waited over 30 minutes, before someone finally showed up. I had expected a quick tour and activate the pass, as I wasn’t planning to work out that day. The delay was completely unnecessary and poorly handled.

When someone finally did assist me (not sure if it was the same person I was originally assigned to), she activated my pass and asked if I’d be training that day. I told her I no longer had time, but I might come back the next day.

The following morning, I returned to try it out. I was only able to train for about 40 minutes because the gym felt disorganized and crowded, even at 7 a.m. The layout makes the space feel tight despite it being large. The equipment wasn’t broken, but it was clearly outdated compared to what I’m used to. I currently have a membership at another gym (I wasn’t looking to switch immediately, just exploring better options). At this gym, everything felt old, less intuitive, and less accessible.

On top of that, there weren’t enough benches available — something I later saw mentioned in other reviews as well.

As if all that wasn’t enough, the following day I got a call from the manager or the same woman who helped me with the pass. I told her clearly and respectfully that the gym didn’t meet my expectations she kept insisting that I give her reasons, and when I did, she dismissed them and told me this was “the biggest fitness chain in the U.S.” (which is factually untrue), then accused me of just wanting a free day — which made no sense, since I only went once and I already had a membership on anther gym. Then she hung up on me.

The entire experience was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and completely discouraging. From the cold and careless reception to the outdated equipment and the rude follow-up call, this gym is not worth it. I was simply exploring options, and I’m glad I didn’t commit to anything here.

I am really annoyed with the staff at the LA Fitness on 8310 Bird Rd, Miami, FL 33155. Starting around 6 months ago they started announcing over the loud speaker an hour before closing time that the gym will be closing in 1 hour, 45 minutes, 30 minutes. 25 minutes, 20 minutes, 15 minutes. 10 minutes 5 minutes, 3 minutes and closing. It is extremely disrespectful to harrass your members and guests screaming at them every 5 minutes and kicking them out. I came in yesterday for a quick workout 50 minutes before closing and the front desk guy was telling me but we close in 50 minutes. This is disrespectful. Makes your members feel unwanted. Saying it once is sufficient. People come to the gym to relax and unwind and have mental peace, the behavior of your staff is not conducive towards that. This is bad for your brand also. I would urge you to find out whom the bad seeds are and uproot them. Tried sending email and reaching out to corporate

This club was amazing couples year ago, now class schedule is a disaster, ig you want to dance dont go a night club pay $35 and go dancing zumba Monday to Friday at 5:45pm, no more yoga class in the afternoon, no more step class, only Zumba, etc,… is getting worse by year,… after maybe 1 year class on Tuesday were nice again now they replace Silvia and no more class Tuesday and Thursday 🤮🤮🤮the club need to take care more of the class schedule in the afternoon, machine are full and variety of class are not available any more

I frequent Miami for work, and this is the second time I've worked out at a LA Fitness in the Dadeland area, and this location is almost as bad as the previous location off of Kendall Drive. The space is big and clean, but the free weights section was totally unorganized. Plates all over the floor and the dumbells were all unorganized. I wanted to wipe down the bench I was using, but all the wipe stations were completely out, so I finally found one across the gym in the cardio section that had wipes... Very unsat.

I spoke on the phone with the assistant manager about the issues, and I was given excuses. There were 3 employees behind the desk on the 2nd floor eating and on their phones, when they could have been paying attention to the floor. I'd expect this amount of disarray from Planet Fitness. LA Fitness management, manage your employees, and strive to do better. If I were the owner, I'd be livid at the work ethic being displayed by those I employed there... FYI, the pictures only show a small portion of what there was. Oh, and I let the manager know I racked all the plates on the floor before I rolled out. 😎🤙🏽

Signed up for their "Free" Pass while visiting the area. When I arrived and attempt to scan in, The representative that took my information tried to tell me I HAD to sign up for a membership to redeem the pass (which defeats the purpose of the pass), advising that I didn't read the fine print. Per their own fine print in the email it said options would be presented, and amenities may be limited, but nowhere does it say you HAVE to sign up.

When I pointed out their own fine print she just shrugged and said "that's the way we do it", and that the pass is just a "marketing thing".

I understand the free pass is a driver for new memberships and they're running a business, but to be condescending is not the way to go about it.

After some back and forth she allowed me to workout for the day, but explicitly said I wasn't allowed the full 3 days.

They have the normal equipment you would expect from a gym, but most of it was definitely dated. The free weight sections were haphazard at best. Very little gym etiquette in the form of people putting weights back where they belong. Good luck trying to find it set of matching dumbbells of any weight.

I'll give it two stars for the number of amenities, but the treatment by the sales representative was manipulative at best, condescending at worst, hence 2 stars

We love everything about it, from location, size, cleanness, available training equipment, bathrooms, pool, and everything else.

The issue that we are facing is that the academy is so overcrowded that it is become increasingly hard to get to do the workout.

The only two options that I can think of to address it is either increase the gym hours or to limit the number of memberships sold.

I’m so disappointed with this LA Fitness. Management doesn’t keep up with the cleaning of the equipment and the gym. Basketball court floor is filthy. When you come into to gym in the morning or at night the garage and entrance lights have been broken for 3 weeks and the elevator has been broken for a month. The equipments are constantly broken and it takes forever to fix them and the gym needs a major update.

The manager has really cleaned up this place by taking action against bad members and their bad actions . This woman decided it was her gym and damn everyone else . The face and body of entitlement on display here. Asked if we could use the leg press and in an arrogant and condescending way, she said she was using it . El dia de ayer 24 Mayo 2024 visité el sitio para realizar un cambio en mi membresía fui atendida por Sandra ella contestó mis preguntas de una manera poco amable y sin interes de darme una solución acorde a lo que yo le planteaba, me refirió que solo tenía dos opciones y que lo que me habían dicho el día de la inscripción no era válido pués había sido en 2022. Decidí cancelar mi membresía pues lo que me dijeron cuando me inscribí es que en cualquier momento podía modificarla, lo que no fue un hecho.
Solo podía mantener la que tenía o pagar todo de nuevo para acceder a otra, aún cuando llevaba 2 años como miembro.

I’m an expecting momma to be, dance is my favorite way to stay active during my pregnancy. The team that I’m a part of chose this LA fitness to meet up today for practice. We decided 8:30pm was the best time to go to ensure we respected any classes they had scheduled. Those of us that didn’t have a membership got a 3 day guest pass online to attend, possibly considering getting a membership in the future for other practices. Neither on the website nor within the email confirmation that we received did it mention that we had to go prior to 8pm. When we arrived, the gentleman at the front desk (Miguel) refused entry due to the time. I kindly asked if they could please make an exception because the rest of our team had been allowed to go in and we were not informed of the time limit, showing him what I had received via email. When he grabbed my phone, he also went to see if it was disclosed on the website at sign up, but he didn’t mention anything so I guess he didn’t find it. Instead he said there was a liability issue, and I asked if we could please sign a waiver, which he denied. He said the only way he would let us in was if we purchased a $20 day pass and that that’s what his manager had instructed him. I asked him if we could please speak with the manager to ask for help, he said “I’m a manager too anyways so …”. More was said but honestly the issue wasn’t the policy, more so how he was passive aggressive, condescending, lacked willingness to help and resorted to repeating himself or giving me a blank stare. Ultimately my coach upgraded her account so we can enter, thankful she typically goes to a different location more down south as she was also disappointed. However, I will positively highlight the other gentleman Miguel De Leon! He recognized us when we were leaving and reminded us we had left our ID’s, which was a lifesaver. With that simple gesture I left more grateful than when I came in, though we will be choosing a different gym for future meet ups. Hope this review helps anyone that gets a guest pass know when to use it so their planned workout goes smooth.

I choose LA fitness because I used in when I was living in California. They have multiple locations all over the city and classes, sauna and pool that’s included in price. I wish they could have also hamam . You can find all equipments that’s you need
