When i started going to the gym it was Esporta, everything was great to start, i had a great trainer and i was starting to be able to walk again then sadly that Trainer moved and i had as well, moved location and was given a new trainer that did not listen and refused to keep up with what i was able to physically do, then that location closed down and when i had asked about another location they said i could go to LA fitness and that i would be able to continue as normal and at the normal rate. So i was paying my monthly as they gave me the run around and then when my final payment was due they said that i had to pay the higher rate and when asked why they couldn't give me a clear answer. Its sad that i have now regressed and they didnt seem to care since i decided that the zero commission was ridiculous. I will never come back to this company ever again.

This gym is absolutely wonderful. I’ve been going here for a few years and prefer it over the gyms in the surrounding area. The staff consist of very kind individuals. Particularly those who work on the weekends. The atmosphere is great and calmer than during the weekdays. The manager, Jasmine, is a kind woman and is clearly a hardworking person. This is Tetra I have just moved to this beautiful location, and my home is only 5 minutes from LA Fitness. I walked into this location located at 4550 E. Michigan in Mariners Village, and the first person I saw was Rachel. She had an amazing smile and made me feel welcome. Rachel had great eye contact and was multitasking but still managed to acknowledge me. I then spoke to Nate Steiger. Who was very informative and professional. He gave me all the information needed in order to become a member. I saw the beautiful pool, which was why I came in to inquire about the fees. I just want to let Bryan Martinez and Ms. Jasmine know they have great representation for LA Fitness through both Nate and Rachel. Yesterday, we decided to try a different LA Fitness location due to heavy traffic near our usual gym. Unfortunately, we were in for a surprise—and not in a good way.

We’re not sure if this location is part of the franchise or independently managed, but it felt far below the LA Fitness standard. The equipment is rusty, the rowing machines don't work which honestly look like they should be scrapped. The hand sanitizer station had no wipes or sanitizer available. Overall, the gym looked dirty and neglected.

The only areas that seemed semi-clean were the basketball courts, two of the exercise rooms, and the bathrooms. That was the only bright spot.

This gym doesn’t compare to other LA Fitness locations where the machines are modern, the environment is clean, and the staff acknowledges members with a friendly attitude. Based on what we experienced, I wouldn’t pay a dime to return to this gym in its current condition.

This isn’t meant as criticism—it’s constructive feedback. With some attention, upgrades, and better upkeep, this gym could likely attract and retain many more members.

Terrible experience here. Wanted to try the club so signed up for the free 3 day guest pass. I expect to try to be sold a gym membership when using a free pass, however this was overtop pushy. I was clear from the beginning that I was there to try the club and would not be committing to any membership until after I used the pass to see if I liked the gym. Still had to sit through a 30min sales conversation and the rep still input my information and attempted to collect a $75 payment to start my membership. I felt that was very deceptive and maintained that I would not be purchasing a membership. It seriously felt worse than being at a car dealership. I eventually got to work out and was disappointed by the facilities, it was dirty and a lot of equipment was rusty. Certainly won’t be joining.

I’ve been lifting consistently for almost 10 years, and this is THE best gym I’ve ever signed up for. Two main reasons:

1. Great equipment – Variations for rows, presses, and legs that make a huge difference in your physique. They mostly have “Hammer Strength” (the best brand, in my opinion) and “Life Fitness” machines. The gym even has the legendary “Nautilus” machines.
2. Always empty – Even during peak hours and Mondays. Go see for yourself and compare it to any other commercial gym; it will blow your mind.

Not everyone goes to the gym just to lift, but if you’re like me and this is your purpose there, take my word: sign up. You’ll hit every muscle from every angle, barely having to wait for machines. What else could you ask for?

Hey guys my experience at this gym hasn't been that good this employee or she may be an owner Susan. I would say every morning from about 8:00 a.m. to about 12:00 p.m. she and a group of her friend takes over the gym makes it hard for any other members to get a workout they take up equipment for a long period of time and a portion of the gym for themselves. And they they are there for such a long time just about every morning.

I drive past the Goldenrod location to go here. Its much cleaner and the members are mostly better behaved. The reason for 4 stars is because management needs to talk those who constantly drop weights in the free weight area. Its like a hammer to the head. Maybe those members need attention because they don't get it at home. Anyways management needs to talk with them. More members displaying bad behavior in a public space. I came in looking for a gym membership and was immediately met with a cold, uninviting vibe. The front desk staff seemed uninterested, and the salesperson who spoke to me was dismissive and condescending. He assumed I knew nothing about gyms, then bluntly said, “Oh, I thought you didn’t know anything,” when he realized I did. Few days later, he called to follow up and I told him that I didn’t like the vibe, he sarcastically asked, “Are you coming to work out or to make friends?” and hung up on me. Extremely unprofessional. I won’t be joining. His name is Brian.

The A/C is finally working so updating my review and raising to 3 stars. The gym equipment is still old and rusty and chunks are missing out of the weights. Gym needs new equipment. I workout at this place every weekday at 5am, and the staff is very friendly. The gym is always spotless, the cleaning lady goes above and beyond to make the bathrooms, sauna and showers squeaky clean. If you want to workout at a gym that you don’t have to worry about sitting on the floor because its dirty, this is the place for you, trust me I’ve been to other LA locations and I’ve worked out at other gyms, but nothing compares to this one

Saturday 04/05 I arrived at 6:37pm and they won't let me in because they say that on Saturdays and Sundays admission is at 6:40pm at the latest, but the previous Saturday I arrived at 6:42 and I had no problems, they have to come to an agreement on this, I do a shoulder routine in 15 minutes easily, if the closing time is at 7pm, until 6:59 it has to be the admission because it is at the discretion of the associate knowing that they close at 7pm. Love the staff that works here, they always greet you with a smile and remember the frequent guests. However, there’s been issues with the AC system over the last few months in the weight room area not fully pumping out cold air compared to any other La Fitness in town; which is pretty important for working out to myself. I brought this up to the front a few times already which I was told management is/was notified but they have not fixed this problem yet. If this issue is addressed and fixed I’ll gladly change my review to 5 stars as I enjoy all other aspect of this gym and the staff.

This evening I visited the LA Fitness on the corner of Michigan and Conway Road. I was met by the weekend general manager who refused to honor my guest pass because of two previous cancellations on my account due to equipment issues during my years of membership time at that gym, as early as 2009 under the Regional Tamara and General Manager Patrick Kavros. After explaining that I wanted to try the gym out again before committing to a membership again there, I was told by him that he was in sales and that he was not willing to allow that to happen. He then sat me down and said I can sign up or leave. I expressed that he was in the wrong line of work, and that I would be contacting customer service, he then shouted out loud as I walked to the door, the exact balance he alleged I owe on my account to the entire gym! I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, leaving a detailed Google review and strongly consider retaining legal representation against this club. DO NOT JOIN THIS CLUB, the only thing more broken than the equipment now, is the overwhelmingly unprofessional management!

I go to this gym regularly because it’s the closest LA to me. That said there are pros and cons.
Pros: Not super busy, good variety of weight machines, separate saunas for men and women
Cons: AC doesn’t work properly, gym equipment is dirty and old, a lot of machines don’t work properly (for example, none of the rowers actually work 100%, treadmills are constantly out of service)

By contrast, the LA Fitness in SODO has amazing equipment, is very clean and AC works great. I go there on the weekends when I have more time for commute.

Overall, this gym could use new equipment and a renovation, which they should take advantage of with the rebranding back to LA Firness from Esporta. I understand there is a cost involved, but I can’t get my husband or mom to go to this location because they hate the old equipment and think it’s dirty and hot.

I came a while ago on leave while serving in the military and I couldn’t have received worst service by the staff. Came here recently again for the day pass trial to see if maybe they changed and got complete rude service by one of the managers who wouldn’t let me try the day pass while he was being unprofessional and disrespectful saying that I didn’t need to try the gym out, that every gym was the same so if i was gonna buy I should buy right there while mocking me. I can’t complain about what the physical gym offers but I don’t think the customer service makes it worth $30+ dollars a month with a yearly fee and some sort of down payment. My advice is to go to crunch instead, great customer service and 1/3 of the price. Do better esporta :/.

This location is my favorite. It’s never crowded not even at 5 pm! Staff is amazing, I’ve tried many gyms in town and this one is definitely a gem. Members are respectful and courteous. Great for a beginner gym rat or a regular.

Looks like they built the gym inside of an old clothing store. Old equipment - the lat machine I’m currently using is very rusty lol. Otherwise fairly clean & an overwhelming amount of equipment available.

It’s been three weeks and the AC upstairs still does not work, my wife took the Zumba class and she was drenched with sweat at the first minute of class.

Dirty gym. Old machines. Rude staff. Obnoxious ‘trainers’ roam and linger like vultures. Worst of the four esporta locations I’ve used in Orlando. Stay far away unless you like to stare into space or scroll your phone. Highly recommended for non serious gym goers who like to talk more than exercise. If you need space to relax with your gym bag and check the mirror this is YOUR place.

I’ve attached an image of a conversation that took place between the assistant manager (Julie) and the (Lindsey) manager talking about how they are scamming an elderly gentleman and are proud of it. They also force their staff to work off the clock for free.

As a dedicated member of Esporta for over two years, I am heartbroken and outraged to share my recent experience with their personal training service. I was aggressively pressured into signing a contract I couldn’t afford and didn’t fully understand by a manager who exploited my trust. In a moment that felt like a complete violation of my boundaries, he even used his own credit card to pay the deposit, ensuring I felt indebted to him.

The promised comprehensive training turned out to be nothing but an empty promise. My first session involved a brief, meaningless chat and a dismissive walkthrough of the gym floor, where I was left to figure out machines on my own—no guidance, no support, just cold indifference to my fitness goals and past achievements. ( I have lost over 70lbs without a trainer)

When I tried to cancel within the week—my right as per their own terms—I was met with resistance and manipulation. The manager argued relentlessly on the phone, trying to guilt me into staying by offering free sessions instead of respecting my decision. Eventually, he revealed that leaving would cost me $600 for a buyout. It was a betrayal, making me feel trapped and taken advantage of.

This isn't just about a gym contract; it's about a place I once loved, turning into a nightmare scenario where profits matter more than the well-being of its members. I urge anyone considering this gym to think twice about the ethical implications of supporting a business that uses such predatory tactics to exploit loyalty and manipulate women into unwanted commitments.

The staff is nice, gym is okay, the members are largely inconsiderate of the space and the corporate team seems mega scummy. In trying to cancel my membership the staff told me I had to do so between 9-5 which I can't cause of work. I was then told that my only option was to print out and mail in a cancelation notice - seriously guys?

I get home and log on to their website and in three minutes found an option to cancel my membership online. I called the location back to ask if I what I did registered in their system to which I was told yes, your membership shows as cancelled on our end. The gym staff was completely unaware of the option to cancel online and I can't help but think that's an intentional move by corporate.

Nothing but headaches with this business. There are plenty of other better gyms in the area - do yourself a favor and support a business that doesn't hate its clientele.

My experience at this gym has always been satisfactory until the arrival of the new manager, Julie. It is clear that Julie requires immediate attention to her communication skills with customers, as her behavior lacks the necessary respect and professionalism expected in her position. It is imperative for her to recognize the gravity of her role and refrain from any form of entitlement or rudeness in her interactions. I am greatly dismayed by Julie's unprofessional conduct and expect swift action to rectify this matter.

Dear Sirs, I am member since 2003.
Yesterday I went to swim at this location and i want to thank you for the pool water temperature. It was perfect to swim, not too cold.
The jacuzzi needed to be filled up.
But one thing that is not acceptable and needs management attention is the soap at the shower.
The soap is so diluted in water that is IMPOSSIBLE to have a clean shower. I had to walk to the sink area and get soap from the hand soap disposer to have a decent shower.
Please, take a look at this matter.
If I know I will not have soap to shower, I would take mine. Once Lafitness provide us soap, I count on it !!!

Really good gym. I don’t use equipment so I lean towards the basketball court and the hooping experience. This gym is well kept and clean. The nets are not loose. You can tell this cleaning staff is on top of hygiene and sanitation, beyond many other Esportas in the Orlando area. Shoutouts to jasiah and the other gentleman who worked the night shift (I forgot to get his name) who helped accommodate my visit. They were very professional and were ready to lend a hand at a moments notice.

Wed. Dec., 6, 2023 I was sitting in my wheelchair at Lake Eola watching a buff African American looking male with dred locks and a hispanic-looking young lady with black curly hair handing everyone they met a free THREE DAY PASS to their gym. To my shock and horror, they walked right PASS me without even a nod. I scooted over to them and said, "I'm looking for a new gym. I work out in the pool and jacuzzi. What you just did is called. DISCRIMINATION!" He said, "do you see me smiling? I'm not gonna let you ruin my day." Incredulous, I said , "I'm member of a gym in a different city l've been looking for a new one. (The stout caucasion looking guy with black hair at 24 hr fitness METRO WEST is too lazy to charge the battery to the jacuzzi seat; I'm tired of him and guests having to pull me out to my wheelchair after I sit and scoot in!) I said, "what gym is this and where are you?" He said it was ESPORTA FITNESS on CONWAY. (Mind you, he never stopped walking as he did to speak with others!) I wanted to know who the manager was. He said, "I am." (I was shocked.) Who is your boss? He explained a Mr. Welch? just passed away. He wanted to know who would be sending the checks. Finally, he handed me a flyer with commentary. He wanted to know if I had insurance. I said that I did. Then he proclaimed, " I KNEW THAT! YOU CAN JOIN WITH SILVER SNEAKERS. THE PASS IS FOR EVERYONE ELSE." (I thought,
"you mean YOU ASSUMED!" I might want to try your gym before applying my insurance to a membership.) I yelled, " he doesn't want disabled people in his gym!" He walked over to a group to hand out flyers. His companion made a ph
call. I recorded them as they continued their journey and broke it off near the singing Christmas Tree....

I’ve been coming to this gym for about three years since I moved down from New Jersey and management has always been rude and shady but lately, I’ve been coming in at night and these two gentlemen Kevin and Jasiah always make me feel comfortable and welcomed in the club. It is time to take accountability. For 3 months your sound system has been broken. I have had to bring my own heavy speaker in order to continue having our zumba class. The managers, instead of saying thank you, get defensive when confronted about it. All they care about is people paying their fees or checking into their system.

Shame on the management of this gym 4550 E Michigan St., Orlando Fl, and ALSO all the other venues nearby : 189 S Golden rd, and E 408
Multiple times the classes are cancelled and no even a sign at the door!!! This happened onFriday September 15,2023 at 9:45 am class. I went to ask for AC to be turned down (because it was hot 🥵) while the class waited for the Zumba instructor to show up. That’s when the guy I spoked to said: “Zumba is cancelled”. This is outrageous! He knew, but would care! We had been waiting and no one have the respect to inform us!
That happened, too, at the E Michigan a little while ago with the yoga class, and we had to ask after long waiting for the instructor when they said she had called in sick. Same at the 408 with a Zumba instructor who had called to cancel, but no one said anything or posted a note and we found out the same way! The AC is bad at both 5915 and 4550. And, the speakers are broken at the 4550 for three months now. In addition to all these, the sauna at the 408 has been broken for months!!!
No matter how much customers complain, they never have an answer because “it’s corp who is supposed to fix and keep the facilities”.
Badly trained staff, horrible management, and no respect for the customers (who PAY for their service) make visits unpleasant instead of a relaxed, and enjoyable experience. I can understand that emergencies do happen and sometimes there’s no one to substitute for a class, but knowing it and being comfortably sitting looking at the phone…!!!! Shame on you!!!
And, one more!!!!! Today, September 18, 9:45 am at the 4550 E Michigan St the instructor had to cancel the Zumba class for there was no sound system, again!!! 😱
