The actual gym part is nicer than the location on Okeechobee. The locker room is pretty decent but the bathroom is old and gross. The pool area is stinky and humid. As a female swimmer I've never felt more uncomfortable as I was gawked at and had a male follow me up and down the lane. I come to workout, not be stared at by multiple people. Probably won't be back at this location.

I have to add to a review left by Franz 76. He is 100% on point and I have reported the same issue to the woman at the front desk.
I have been to both the Alton location and North Lake. Alton is by far a nicer gym but I actually prefer North Lake. It’s laid out well and the people are nice but I will admit the bathrooms are pretty bad. The men’s room stinks and finding paper to dry your hands can be a challenge.
The aforementioned issue is really bad. I’m referring to the Franz 76 review. This issue needs to be addressed as several people have felt the same way. This is not about judgement of someone’s lifestyle, but more about the fact that it’s totally inappropriate. Let’s see if management does anything.

I decided to go to a different location, and I may cancel my membership. The reason is this guy who comes to the gym wearing ladies' workout outfits. I don't criticize "lifestyles," but if you are a man who has such impulses, you should do it in the privacy of your home. Respect goes both ways, regardless of what your sexual orientation may be. It is unfair that the entire gym must conform to one single individual. It surprises me that LA Fitness management allows this, considering there are children who walk to the gym for swimming lessons. It demonstrates a lack of finesse and consideration for the rest of the gym members. I don't need to witness this nonsense when I come to work out, especially when I'm paying for it.

The ladies bathroom is unbelievably nasty.... And when is this area going to go back to regular hrs??? You guys close at 7pm weekends 9, 10 weekdays...go back to 8pm weekends and 10, 11weekdays.... Well they keeping swimming pool closed for 3 times now the swimming pool has no heater. It's located at n. Military and Okeechobee blvd. If you want swimming for exercise go to another la fitness because this one always closed.

I’ve gone to this LA Fitness location a few times now, and overall, it's been a decent experience that meets most of my fitness needs.

The gym has a good (typical LA Fitness) layout with plenty of space, and it rarely feels overcrowded even during peak hours. The staff is friendly and helpful - always willing to answer questions or provide assistance when needed. The locker rooms are generally clean, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming for both serious fitness enthusiasts and casual gym-goers.

What keeps this location from earning more stars is the condition of some of the equipment. Several machines were out of order during my recent visits (with those "Sorry, Out of Order" signs that seem to have been there for weeks). Much of the cardio equipment appears outdated compared to other fitness centers in the area, and some weight machines show significant wear and tear.

The Power Smoothie bar inside is a nice touch, and the group fitness classes offer good variety, though the schedule could be more accommodating for those who work traditional hours.

If LA Fitness would invest in updating their equipment and ensuring faster maintenance of broken machines, this location could easily be a 4 or 5-star facility. Still, it's a solid option for a standard gym experience in Palm Beach Gardens if you don't mind working around a few out-of-commission machines.

I had been enjoying water aerobics when in town/Sonia. Suddenly for quite a while, there was consistently no water aerobics instructor on Tuesdays, so sessions were constantly canceled. Finally, a new instructor (Cheryl) took Tuesdays with a new time at 8:30. For a couple of sessions, there was a sweet spot with Cheryl/Tuesday and Sonia/Thursday. Suddenly, no more Sonia. Replacement?😳 ...

I will return to get in the water (maybe on off-water-aerobics days, or will probably try back at a later date once things settle and a stride is attained on Thursdays), but for now ... nope.

Though I LOVE Cheryl's workout sessions (such a PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, and DYNAMIC instructor ... the stars are because of her as well as the closeness of this location), I have been going to the Donald Ross location for the past few weeks, just for the sake of continuity. Again, I may return to NLB, as the "FIERCE" D.Ross instructor (Mabel) is expecting. #HappyForHerBut😢

I've been going to this LA Fitness now for a few months and I have to say, Sarah, a front desk employee here has really made her mark on this location.
When I thought good service was a thing of the past she proved me wrong. With an exceptional work ethic everytime I see her, she puts a smile on my face with her cheerful, kind demeanor, and upbeat energy when greeting everyone with their name and with a smile saying "have a good workout Philip" or even closing announcements that are professional,
Upbeat and kind.
Thank you Sarah you do more than you know in making this location a favorite of mine!

The men's locker room is so disgusting. Paper everywhere smells like p. And the sauna is so filthy. I don't think they ever claimed it in. Nobody claims to showers. They got mold on the wall.
This is why they got a 3.9 rating. I'm surprised that health department has n't came in and closed them down Do not go to this location, not unless you wanna smell pee in the men's locker room. And they don't even clean the sun. It has a bad order to it. Free to go in there. You'll get sick memory. Go to the gym. They try to be healthy The sauna is very dirty.

Joined this gym after being away for 10 years. The equipment is in terrible shape, rusted, unable to adjust half of the weight machines, cardio equipment is all rusted out and batteries on most of them are dead, so if you stop to get a drink of water the machine resets. Where are they spending the membership fees (which have gone up!) definitely not on maintaining this gym.

They need to improve in certain areas to become a five star gym. The AC it is not working properly and when you enter you get that smell of sweat and there’s not air to breath specially when you start working out. There’s a lot of virus going on so they need to keep clean and disinfect. They need to renovate a few machines that is always broke: like the “stairs “. And I saw people just walking to the gym without scanning their phones to enter. You should be more aware about that. We payed for the service and shouldn’t be free for anybody. It’s not fair

I go to this gym 2 days a week and there is ALWAYS a man in the woman's restroom either mopping or fixing things, or talking to women. It's weird, and I'm all for open bathrooms, but not when half naked or naked women are around. Super uncomfortable

“ What in the world is happened to this gym” equipment is rundown and rusty. This LA Fitness is getting 5 stars because of Miss April’s Zumba class! Even though there are 2 other LAF locations closer to my home, I go out of my way to drive here specifically for this class. The Zumba by April is energetic, popping, and gets you the sweatiest workout. Also she and the other attendees make everyone feel right at home!

this gym used to be decent. Not anymore. The owner has done ZERO investment in this place in years. everything looks worn and dirty. the bathrooms consistently don't have soap or paper towels. 90% of the bikes are broken. some staff is helpful while others do nothing and act like its not their job if you bring something to their attention. This is an older LA fitness, and it shows a little wear and tear. They also have mostly decades old machines. That said, it’s always super clean, the people who work there are friendly, and an old barbell works just as good as a new one. Extra bonus points for being a ghost town most days. This means everything is open: squat racks, smith machines, leg presses and extensions, all normally open. Love this gym.

Great gym in terms of equipments and size.
The cleanliness is not so good . Same thing for the equipments wich are full of dirt, hair pets and rust. They have a cleaner in the evening that is on the phone all the time instead of cleaning. Nothing against the person but clearly luck of leadership at any level.

I have been taking my son here for about two years now I came in today as I always do with him and the man at the front stopped my son and was very rude to my son and told him he cannot come in n he needs to leave now my son does look younger than his age But he should not have assumed That he did not have any type of medical issue he just kicked him out. LA fitness Without even acknowledging his condition, the employee stated his name was Robbin skipp. I then proceeded to tell him about my son, and what was going on. He did not want to hear anything and told us to just leave. I have never had an issue with any of the employees or staff here I just think it is very rude and very unkind, especially the condition my son has. He thought it was funny but it was not my son cried all he wants is to work out to be health enough to live passed his condition

When I started the training I was under the assumption that there would be goals and a clear path to follow, setup by the trainer or sales, and shared with me. Nothing has been handled properly. On October 23rd I paid in full so I can do my training sessions two times per week until finished, as discussed. However, for 2 weeks after I paid in full, my trainer had nothing but excuses for not showing and rescheduling. This is not what I signed up for. I have already set goals and figured out how I will get there and have no need for your services. I will not work with unprofessional staff and waste my time and money. At $127 per hour you all should be ashamed of your staff. If my training is not cancelled and I am not refunded the sessions I have not used, I will hire an attorney. I have been ignored, called a liar, logged in for a session I was not there for, sessions cut short, and put off for more than 2 weeks of training after I paid in full. My training has not been taken seriously by your staff and you expect your customer to want to train with another staff member? I have had multiple experiences recently with your staff of children who do not take their job seriously. I want the $1400 of sessions I will NOT be using refunded to me. This has been going on for 2 months now! I have tried to resolve this with headquarters already and called a liar. Last time I checked when services are no longer being used money is refunded by the business. If this is not resolved in a timely manor I will be retaining an attorney

Let’s not forget this location is extremely dirty. The bathrooms haven’t been cleaned properly forever. The bathroom stalls have caked dust and dirt lining them and the entire bathroom is rusted and rotting. Smells like something is dead too. 🤮

This place is absolutely terrible. The bathroom is gross, equipment is lacks TLC, and management could be tremendously improved, not to name names, but Josh needs to attend customer service classes. I come from a customer service background, the way Josh treated me, my new membership will be ending very soon. Such a disrespectful individual and I will not be an la fitness member as long as he is employed. I recently saw he posted a fake review on behalf of the gym but it was reported and removed. The parking lot area is terrible. Someone’s vehicle got broken into the other day and apparently their cameras don’t work. The the management is abysmal! Over the years the management has been steadily declining but now it’s the worst I’ve ever seen out of any retail location, not just for a gym. Other users of the gym seem to come there to annoy other users. Average of 4 members almost colliding with me on a daily basis, when it’s obvious that I’m disabled. It is a dangerous environment for elderly or impaired clients. I think the management is indifferent to this hazard.

La fitness is a great concept gym. However they don’t put money into their gyms nor their employees. La fitness has the potential to be one of the elite sports clubs but they fail to contribute to their equipment. This facility offers a great Silver Sneakers chair yoga class for seniors. And there are chairs for all in attendance. The yoga instructor is Yolanda. She does a great job. You will feel like you got a good aerobic & weights workout.

I've been a member 3 years now and it's about time I give them an honest review.
I attend instructor led classes and they have some exceptional instructors! Shout out to Lisa! They are inspirational and friendly.
Management is also great too. They respond to concerns in a timely basis. They have events to promote camaraderie.
Machines are plentiful and sanitary wipes are provided throughout the gym.
In summary, a very good gym!

This gym was so great when it opened 20 years ago. It seems they are using the same equipment. Lots of rusty machines with rust coming off onto my hands, the stretch benches are coming apart, treadmills are broken and the emergency stop just falls out and stops your workout. Corporate gym, but clean and so far friendly!
.....This is an update to my previous gym post. I have become more forgetful with age. On two occassions I have forgotten personal items. My Galaxy smart watch, and my Dre Beats headphones. Both expensive items, both turned into the front desk for me to retrieve many days later.

This says a lot about the caliber of people that train here, as well as the employees who held them for me instead of any other outcome. I give a huge thank you to the people who turned them in, and the staff keeping this gym clean, well maintained, and the amazing integrity they display!!!

there going to close the courts on the weekends starting starting 10/6/22. The basketball courts will only be open on weekdays M-F and it will close at 8pm. They need to change this dumb rule. This LA fitness Is the only one making stupid rules.

Horrible place would not recommend.They kept on charging me after I canceled my membership and when I tried to call to resolve the issue the manager lied I had to call corporate to resolve the issue.

This is the absolute worst gym in the neighborhood. Do not sign up for their memberships it's an endless problem to get them off your bank account. They will fraudulently charge your account no matter how many times your you block them or cancel your membership. Next stop better business burau and every financial scam investigation institute. STAY AWAY!

Be Careful and confirm and actions prior to leaving this please.
I was excited about signing up for a gym membership and went in this gym because of the sign hanging on Northlake and Congress. The sign say memberships as low a 9.95 per month. While visiting for information, the General manager convinced me to sign up. I paid some ridiculous amount of fees and signed contracts.
Less that 2 days later I returned to cancel my membership due to physician restrictions and the same general manager told me he would do so (which I was surprised that is was so easy) but he didn't instead he pretended to talk to someone in corporate, told me that they had to confirm everything and I would get notification.
Fast forward 2 months later, a annual registration was deducted from my bank account. I reached out to the corporate office and was told that the GM submitted a account freeze and not a account cancellation.
No I've given this gym $140 and have never used the gym.

locker rooms always dirty. Only a few showers work. Hot tub has only 1 jet. And an annoying guy keeps blowing whistle during spin class. He needs to be kicked out

I was enjoying the gym until a fitness trainer started harassing me about having a personal trainer for weight loss. He was very rude and absolutely would not accept "NO" for an answer! Makes me regret joining, he told me I won't lose any weight unless I hire him. The guy's a nut, I will get nasty to the guy if he bothers me again. He doesn't accept that I'M NOT INTERESTED! I'll show the jerk that I lost weight with out him! That's why I'm only giving one star, for the trainer harassing me!

My experience at the gym started with Drake, he explained everything the gym had to offer, benefits, plans showed my husband and myself the gym around. Customer service was excellent, knowledge, flexible and patientin answering all of our questions.
Lora is experienced,knowledgeable, passionate about how she can help in educating, plan and help you understand your body composition health, how to reach your level of fitness goals.
Devon developed an exercise routine that fits my health and lifestyle, he has been patient and the best trainer for me. Teaching me the latest and at the same time the simplest way for me to exercise with my disabilities.
I am extremely happy with my experience at the gym.

The staff are extremely nice, professional and go out if their way to make you feel welcome.

The equipment is in good condition and there are multiples of each.

The locker rooms themselves are nice, but the lavatories and showers are old and in need of fixing up. I was told this is going to happen within a year.

The sauna and jacuzzi are in working order.

I am pleased with this location and attend 3-4 times a week.
