Haven’t had the best experience being a member of this gym. Super dirty and unorganized. Weights/equipment all over the place never to be found. Extremely frustrating especially since a lot of the machines are out of order or extremely old/untaken care of. So expect to spend most of your workout searching for equipment or machines that actually work. Don’t bother trying to contact management about any concerns since nothings been done about the many complaints they have received.

This is by far the worst LA Fitness location I’ve been to. The front desk staff, especially Francisco Sanchez, is unprofessional and rude. On top of that, the gym is poorly maintained and dirty. Because of the staff and the condition of the facility, I would never consider joining. It’s a shame LA Fitness loses business due to such incompetence.

This gym used to be good a couple years ago. After being a member for 5 years and being a regular, 2 months ago I cancelled my membership.
Everytime I came to the gym I got sick, I think they don’t clean the machines at all, I always wiped them down but it got to the point that I couldn’t stand getting sick everytime I went to workout there.
The machines were old, some of them made weird sounds because they haven’t got maintenance.
Due to the amount of times I got sick I should leave 1 star but it has potential, it just needs more maintenance, but too many issues for $40 a month

This particular LA facility now classifies as one of the older gyms but it's been very well maintained, updated accordingly.

The staff seems pretty cool & they generally try to keep it clean however people are people & it's challenging I'm sure. It's mostly very well kept though.

I really appreciate that this particular Manager is constantly making the best of the space & equipment does get moved around on occasion & the gym does clearly look/feel more useful each time.

Last, the green area is ample with room to workout, stretch & there's a total of 3 general shared space areas that allow for either working out and/or rehab/stretching type work - one of which is a converted racquetball room.

I've been visiting since 2017 or so & it's only gotten better... Likely good management.

I usually don’t leave reviews, but this was one of the most unpleasant gym visits I’ve had.

I went to use the StairMaster, only to find it completely soaked in sweat — dripping from the handles and screen. No towel, no effort to clean up. When I asked the person who had just stepped off if he was done, I got an arrogant look and a dismissive tone.

What really bothered me was the lack of basic gym etiquette and hygiene. It’s unacceptable and unsanitary. I had to clean the entire machine myself before even thinking of using it.

I really tried to like this location because it’s conveniently close to where I live. They do have a lot of machines but they’re all outdated and some of the pins don’t go in all the way. The whole gym needs a makeover. Seems like it’s stuck in the 90’s. Also I went around 7pm one night and you can’t even use one machine because it was so packed. Not to mention if you sign up, it’s extremely expensive.

I had a terrible experience at this location. LA Fitness is unfortunately a terrible gym. Their machines were rusty and old, the guest service process is timely and expensive ($30 for a guest pass is ridiculous) The overall experience and energy at that gym was awful and disappointing. I have known the La Fitness gym company for more than 10 years, I really liked it until today because of a situation here at the La Fitness location on 184th Street in Pembroke Pines, because of the manager named Aileen. Yesterday I brought my supports and medical reports where it indicates that I should not exercise because I have a cyst in my spine and any movement causes me pain, I have constant pain because of this situation, I told this lady that I had an obligation to cancel the training I had with Coach Eric and they denied the cancellation by manipulating the information because my Dr.'s letter was not clear regarding the exercise and also because they placed the training contract in my son's name (mistake of the previous manager) my son is a minor, he does not work, he does not drive, he could not travel here alone, he is only in high school, the previous manager offered me a training of $240 for me and my son, I expressed this error to Coach Eric why they had placed the Membership in my son's name. My mistake was not having fixed it because Coach Eric told me that it was not a problem, that I could continue training like this, but now I paid the consequences of that mistake. This lady Aileen now wants my son to continue training by himself paying all that amount without caring that I could not for health reasons. They just ripped off $$480 from me simply because she did not consider my medical situation, so much so that she said that my problem was in my back and not my legs, I wonder what these kind of trainers study that they do not know that any problem that exists in the spine can be reflected in my extremities!!! They only care about the money, because I never saw even a minimum of interest in helping me so that I would not look so damaged, I do not know if they are paying her a commission for all the money that she takes from people in these kinds of cases, I am about to see the neurosurgeon to have surgery and I have many medical expenses and they did not care about ripping me off almost $500, other than that she was rude when it is from the payments of all the clients that they receive their salaries. It is a shame that because of one simple person an entire company is in bad shape, I do not recommend it nor will I ever recommend it!!! In addition to the fact that the previous manager sold me a double training, thinking that each one would have a normal training but it was not like that, Coach Eric was in a hurry to train the two of us in just half an hour and I do not blame him, I am sure that without company policies, and they do not tell you that but they paint birds in the air saying that you are saving a training when no, it is that they divide it in half, they divide the time, lack of ethics and professionalism, HORRIBLE

I had a really bad experience since day one. I requested my 3 day pass to go see if I really liked it, and the first person who talked to me was very disrespectful. His name is Sebastian , I understand that they have to try to sell you the membership, and he insisted many times, going down the price every time. I told him many times that I was not going to get anything that day because I needed to know if I'll like it or not. But that was not enough for him, he continued to insisted until I said...I also have to talk to my husband to make that decision....OMG he jumped on me and asked " why do you need to ask your husband? " I couldn't believe it!!!!! I stood up and told him that's not of your business!! Then i went to the front desk and asked for the manager. I was a woman from the front desk who never gave me her name, told her everything but she really didn't care too much. All she said was, " I'll show you around." Never apologize... Sebastian never activated my code, and I had to go back and ask him to please activate my pass so I could go and do a zumba class that I wanted to try. I even asked Sebastian not to contact me, but he didn't care. He called me again the next day to make me another offer. Because I didn't want to talk to him, another guy called me, his name is Samir. Samir told me that Sebastian was one of the managers from that location...I could not believe it...and he couldn't give me the same offer because he was not a manager. The next day, Samir called me and gave me an offer, I need one that I can use in different locations because of my job. Samir offered me 25 dollars for down and 29.99 a month, not a contract. I said ok..that sounds good."" I finished my 3 days yesterday and texted Samir and said, "I want to get the membership that you offered me, and he said that I could go today and get it with him. Because I don't want to talk to Sebastian,.... I texted Samir today, and now he said that the promotion that he offered to me ended yesterday....OMGGGGGGGGGGGG. he said he didn't check the promotion yesterday. He saw that it was until today. I really have no idea how this corporation works and how they train their employees, but they definitely need to make some huge changes. Now I waste my time and have to start looking for another gym. I am very disappointed.

On 31 Dec 2024, I visited LA Fitness in Pembroke Pines, FL to resolve any debts I had with my membership. Once in, I was greeted by a younger gentlemen with a mohawk. I told him I wanted to resolve ALL debts and close my membership. He pulled up my information and told me how much it was, $64.18. I told him I wish to pay it. He kept trying to get me to renew the membership and I said, NO. I only wish to resolve debts. After going back and forth for about 10 minutes, he asked why I did not want to renew my membership. I told him because IT IS ALWAYS DIRTY, much of the equipment is old and rusted, the floor is always dirty with sweat, dirty napkins, dust, hair, etc, and the equipment never gets wiped down. It was only clean during COVID. He told me that a new cleaning staff had been hired and told me to go look around. I did, and it was the SAME scene.

Dirty, equipment not wiped down, weights everywhere... disgusting. I then politely told him AGAIN that I was not interested and only wanted to pay my debit. He said, ok.
So I sat down at his desk next to him and he pulled up the CREATE FITNESS MEMBERSHIP FORM and typed in $64.18. Which is the debt I owed. He said, to start a membership it will only cost you this and it'll be cheaper than what you paid before. I told him NO. He kept on and kept on trying to manipulate me and I began to get frustrated. I asked him WHY did he deliberately go to CREATE FITNESS MEMBERSHIP instead of the payment of debt page. He said, Oh it's the same thing because "OUR SYSTEM IS OLD, SO THIS IS THE PAGE WE USE." I said, you're LYING. This form is to create a NEW membership. He starts laughing. At this point I get up to go ask for help from someone else. For THAT alone, his employment should be reconsidered because if I were an older person he may have followed through with the incorrect form.

There was a plus sized girl at the desk next to him who was unkempt in her appearance and had her breasts inappropriately falling out of her tank top. I said, "Ma'am, can you help me?" I only want to pay what I owe, I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER MEMBERSHIP. She didn't really hear me well because she had her air pods in so I walked closer to the desk and asked for help. She took her air pod out of one ear and asked me why. I told her the gym was always dirty and unclean and that the equipment is old and rusted and doesn't get wiped down by staff or customers.

She said NO IT ISN'T! She said our cleaning guy has been off a few months but he will be back. I said it doesn't matter, it's disgusting! She than began telling me how ALL GYMS ARE DIRTY BECAUSE PEOPLE SWEAT and that there will ALWAYS be trash. She also told me the equipment isn't old. I said, well, it's rusted. She then gets frustrated and begins raising her voice talking about how she had just come from another gym that was TWICE AS DIRTY. I said, Ma'am, I'm not here to debate the cleanliness of gyms or equipment. I am here to resolve my debt and close my LA fitness membership account.
At this point the younger guy calls me back because he sees her raising her voice and he then takes me to the RIGHT SCREEN  for payment and asks me if I want a free 15-day pass. He tries to get me to reopen my membership about 3 more times and I said NO. He said, well, if you want the pass just ask for me.

The lack of integrity, manipulation, unprofessional conduct, disgusting atmosphere at LA Fitness in Pembroke Pines is absurd. Hopefully management gets this and conducts better customer service and INTEGRITY training with its workers. If it had been an older person that young man with the mohawk may have beguiled them into opening a new account thinking they were paying their debts for the other one.

I've been going to LA Fitness since May 2024. The staff is ok but nothing spectacular. I am there in the morning around 5 AM and the gym only has committed members at that time.
The negatives:
1. The gym is often messy and disorganized. It is a struggle to find weights and no one enforces the "re-rack or plates" rule. Time is burnt regularly looking for weights and plates because lazy and ignorant people cant bother to put them away after working out. I sometimes consider leaving the gym because of this.
2. There are lots of people who waste time being on their phones. I can do 3 or four sets of exercises before they finish with one because they are distracted or addicted or oblivious.
It seems like staff are scared to confront people which ruins the overall experience of the gym.

I was trying gyms in my area to try to see which one would be the right fit for me. This was close to where I live and my work and was in a good location for me. I decided to get the free 3 day pass that LA Fitness has on their website and come try it out.

I come in on a Sunday and it is my first day. It was nice but it was a weekend day and the gym was empty. The front desk guy (I believe he is assistant manager) told me that I could get a membership after I work out or he will activate my 3 day pass. He was polite enough and not super aggressive. He just told me their weekend deal would end which made sense as it was Sunday. I decided to get my pass extended as I wanted to try coming in here on a weekday to see if it worked. The "deal" had apparently expired.

I come in on Monday and I do not get the same treatment, there is a different front desk guy who was wearing a black shirt and had longer curly hair. I scan my barcode that the Sunday desk guy gave me and the Monday desk guy tells me that it did not scan and he needed to talk to me. I thought there was an activation issue or something. He scanned other guests in and when it was just us, he began to aggressively sell the same "deal" as the guy yesterday did. Apparently, the special weekend "deal" got extended to Monday. He asked if it was my first day here and I said I have the 3 day pass and I wanted to come try it out on a weekday. He then interrogated me as to why I needed to come back again to try it out when I already came in yesterday. I told him the Sunday desk guy gave me until Wednesday and I had the 3 day guest pass. I also told him I wanted to try it on a weekday since it would be more crowded today. He still talked about the "deal" and I told him we could discuss it later as I still had two days left on my free pass. He then laughed and told me that there is no later and the "deal" would expire. I asked him if we could discuss this after my workout since it would still be today and his "deal" would still be available based on what he told me. He then proceeded to ask me very invasive questions (how far I lived, how far my work was, if I was trying out any other gyms, etc.) He finally allowed me to work out after berating me for 5 minutes.

I won't be coming back here, horrible service, rude staff and horrible workout experience.

This gym is well located in a plaza that has a huge parking lot. The front desk people are available all the time the answer questions. This is a big place and the machines have enough space so your workout can be done without having others rushing you or exercising closed to you. The bathrooms are clean and spacious. The pool area is safe and clean. In addition, the spinning section is not used very often and the bikes are in ok condition but look and feel old. What I don’t like is that the machines are too old.

El Gerente de este Club es muy mal educado, agresivo y no tiene la menor idea de como tratar a Los socios. Despues de 2 anos asociadas, nunca habia recibido Un trato tan agresivo y sin ninguna education, obviamente no vuelvo a pisar ese club.
