Place is nice, but if you want to go to the pool don’t bother! Seems like every time I come, the British Swim school is there. I’ve came to the gym multiple times to see the pool loaded with kids, so I normally leave. Today, I stayed. They block 2/3 of the pool and proceed to sing nursery rimes to the kids while they teach. I personally go to the pool to relax so this drives me nuts! I know kids need to learn but I feel like the community pool across the street is a better environment for kids. The parents bring the kids into the men’s locker room where I don’t believe they should be. I only come here for the pool so considering looking elsewhere.

Mold on multiple machines & all through out the gym including bathrooms and showers. Witnessed cuts, bleeding and open wounds on handles of machines and seats. Spoke to multiple employees & was told they couldn’t run after everyone to wipe down each machine - we should be doing that. As a member of La Fitness, there are things that all of us members need to post about what is not good at the gym. We paid a lot of money. The ceiling is broken. The men's bathroom is always dirty and has an unpleasant smell. The carpet has a strong smell. I do not recommend it. We want a clean gym and the equipment fixed. The rubber flooring is in very poor quality.Before signing any contract, research other gyms, safety, cleanliness and organization are essential for those who attend. (I went to speak to management twice and where were they?) This gym is already too much, these wipes, I cleaned one piece of equipment at the gym, imagine how the others must be, I've never seen anyone cleaning them When you sign up for the gym, you pay $42.00 a year for the monthly fee and $63.00 for the maintenance fee. This is discounted annually. These two discounts come in the same month. Be careful! Because the photos are real, before signing up, go to the gym and do a tour. You need to visit the bathrooms and gym rooms. We pay to avoid maintenance. Several broken equipment takes more than months to fix. You go to exercise and come back. The fitness is bad. There are better gyms.The fans need to be cleaned, they are always on like this, imagine what the air conditioning filter must be like?

This place is grimey. I was a victim of fraud and I couldn’t pay my membership for a month. However I’m a disabled veteran so I found a place that was willing to pay my membership. All I need to sign up is the managers email address. No one will give it to me. They keep calling asking me to pay my bill. I explain the
situation and I’m told a manager will call me but they never do. I just got an email that I owe twice the amount I should because of late fees yet the late fees are their fault as they never have a manager call me back to give me a simple email address. So I told them I want to cancel. Well wouldn’t you know you have to jump through hoops to cancel. They make it very difficult. Stay away from this gym as they have zero concern for humans. Just their money. Instead of calling me and telling me their email
address just put me in a worse financial position even though they were told the situation I’m trying to recover from. You would think they would have empathy for their members, but they can’t be bothered with things that involve anything other than to ask for another credit card number.

for the price… this is such a bad gym. and for context to this rant, this rating is built up from over year of experience using this gym, because i made the foolish mistake of paying for a year upfront because it was so close to my house.

the staff seem to be weirdly rude, the floor is always grimy, and the bathrooms smell BAD ( i think from the sauna but idk). there isn’t even a bathroom on the gym floor… like really? if i ever have to use the bathroom, i have to take like a 10 minute excursion just to get there because it’s tucked in the corner on the bottom floor. for over 50 bucks a month, i feel like it’s not crazy to expect that.

but if i had to give my most consistently frustrating aspect of this gym that drives me crazy, it’s that they close at SEVEN on weekends!!!!! REALLY??!!? saturday AND sunday. like why so early!!!! sometimes nighttime is the only time i can go because i work on weekends, so the fact that i don’t even have the option to lift on weekends at night is ridiculous. that’s the just the cherry on top to this really sub par gym experience. i really really would recommend you take your moneyu elsewhere for a wayy better price. this gym is like 50 bucks a month while other gyms seem to be like 10 bucks a month and so much better .

I’ve been coming for over 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed Lisa’s yoga classes on Wednesdays until she no longer was able to teach them. For two weeks now, the ‘new’ instructor didn’t show up. No notice, no substitute. Management was unreachable and nobody had a clue what happened, wasting everyone’s time. No apologies and zero accountability.

Henry the GM will demand money or force you away after signing up online and being issued a 3 day trail pass as i have NEVER stepped foot inside this location and am new to the area... Also considering EVERY la fitness is different with different owners and different quality. Never will i ever pay money to work out 1 day at a gym to try it to see if i want to lock in to a monthly subscription. If im not aloud to have a trial you should not issue one online with the same phone number and email so i can take my preworkout drive 15 minutes to the location with my pass in hand, just so Henry can Deny entry and demand money.

I would highly recommend signing up to one of the many other gyms in the area, they wont waste your time and try to demand money once they already got you in the door under false pretenses... 0/10

I’ve been to other LA Fitness gyms in other areas of the country and they were clean and well managed. The Pompano location is disappointing. Overall cleanliness of the gym gets a one star rating. Managers, the same. I, and other members, have reported this issue but it doesn’t improve. Why?
The ceiling vents in the women’s locker room and pool area are rusted and at times they drip orange from the rust. The inside of many lockers are dirty. There are little flies in the showers and hair everywhere because they are not cleaned regularly. Shower curtains should be replaced and water pressure in the showers are low. Replace the shower heads too!
The equipment - filthy, many members do not clean the equipment prior to or when finished. How about posting signs or asking members to clean the equipment after use? You have to walk across the gym to get wipes on the first floor beacuse they never replaced the bin that was on the back wall of the gym… And hopefully the bin isn’t empty. The stairs- filthy. Flooring around the equipment - filthy. I’ve pointed this out to management several times but to no avail. Still very disappointed. If the team cared about any of this, it would have improved a while ago.
Lastly, I noticed there are responses to positive reviews but none to the low star ratings, why? I believe it’s due to lack of interest in making the improvements and running a clean, well maintained gym. No excuses!

I am impressed with the changes to the gym I have seen since 2023. I only come here once or twice a year while visiting my parents, but I go everyday while I'm in town.

1 - Last year there was literal trash on the ground, dust on the ground, dust built up around the pulleys, and the weights were never on the rack, just scattered everywhere.

- This year it was clear that they put an effort into making sure the gym was clean and members were being more responsible. Most weights were organized without any staff coming up and requiring staff to place them where they belong - which means management and staff has enforced gym policy.

2 - Over the last 2 years there has been a lot of members occupying equipment/space that were not working out and were filming themselves without regarding the privacy of others.

- There were signs saying filming others without consent could involve law enforcement. Thank you for this! I belong to a private club and had this happen but not even a follow up despite the receipts I provided about the actions.

I did see two fitness enthusiasts filming each other but they were mindful to do it with minimal space and without having anyone in the background.

3 - A lot of open cardio equipment that were not out of service compared to previous years.

4 - Lots of parking at this location!

I cannot speak to locker rooms, pool or child care provided at this facility but I know they are present!

It was a very pleasant experience this year without having to help clean while I was working out - I have been in the fitness industry for 16 years and I will help even if I am not a member or staff.

A lot of hard work by management and staff has paid off!

Multiple machines are broken, some broken for nearly a year with no repair in sight.

These things are this way because let's be honest, management doesn't care. If they did the problems would have been addressed immediately. It's unacceptable to have these issues ongoing for years and years. I will be cancelling my membership after being active for 10 years. I'm done.

Disappointed! This is one of the newest LAs in the Broward area (+/- 5 years). However, it has been so neglected, that it feels so old! Where to start.... I guess housekeeping. The equipment is always dirty, free weights are scattered all over the place, and dumbbells are always misplaced. Overall, it's chaotic here. Then, the machines, some of the most seek out machines (I.e. pec deck machine) have been broken for months and despite many attempts at informing the personnel, the requests have been neglected. Lastly, the culture, going back to the housekeeping aspect, most people just don't care, clutter and weighs are all over the place and remain like this for days!

This location for la fitness has gone downhill and is in disrepair.

Many new competitors in the area that are beautiful and clean inside.

First 3 things they should do

1. Deep cleaning of the entire building
2. Replace the ceiling tiles
3. Fix the broken/loose equipment replace all the pads on every bench.

I was reading other people’s reviews about them being harassed about putting the weights back in the proper location. I have not personally witnessed this.

I would suggest this location should have spent that time cleaning and repairing the gym before they request their members to adhere to a new policy.

The 4.6 google review is over many years so it gives a false sense of the current quality of this location. It is much closer to 1* these days.

Just finished my workout/s and loved it (visiting Pompano Beach, got the 3 day free pass - easy online setup). Jeffrey set me up and showed me the whole place - he was incredibly professional, friendly and knowledgeable.
Did weights (they have enough squat racks - available even during after-work hrs!), machines, and finished with a yoga class. I love that the classes and pool are included.
I trained all around the world, am a former pro athlete (competed in kickboxing, olympic weightlifting and powerlifting) and am very satisfied with all they offer. I’ll be back. (And would choose this gym as home gym if I lived here).

Will this gym ever be open later than 11 pm?! There are much cheaper gyms open for 24 hours!! And for the amount of money this gym costs, you’d think the equipment would be more updated! Personally, I went for the spin cycle class! And it did not disappoint! It was a mix of high intensity and some arm movements. Of course, always pushing to one’s own limits, but definitely gave enough time for high intensity if that’s where one wanted to go! I really enjoyed the well timed music with the intensity as well!

Garrett was very helpful and had a great sense of humor. He gave us a tour and a great deal on a family plan. He allowed us to pick a date to pay when it was feasible for us. The locker rooms and pool area were very clean. Ive been to other gyms where it was a cesspool.

This place is a dump, disrespectful to the customer, super busy all times and I've been trying to cancel for days and I can't. I sent a letter that they lost and continued to charge my credit card. Then I went back to try to cancel in person and now the person who makes the cancellations wasn't there. It's absurd, they steal our money.

Just an updated review today from this LA FITNESS in Pompano beach!!

A MANAGEMENT TEAM, that does not know about service and care about customers request or demands!
Look at the new pictures below!

NASTY DIRTY PLACE AND STILL OUT OF SERVICE PEC FLY UNIT!!

Weights being left on the machines by GUYS that can lift them, what about if you can’t lift those when you need to use that equipment??
People are INCONSIDERATE !!

Update: for more than Two months now, One of the pectoral Fly equipment is out of service!
I was told they are waiting for parts!!!
Fitness equipment made in the USA, and waiting for parts?
These managers and maintenance personnel would have been fired under my wings!!
As a former Director of Engineering at Hilton, this is unacceptable, especially for PAYING CLUB MEMBERS!!

This place is a total disaster in maintenance of their equipment! For two weeks now some equipment’s are out of service due to poor maintenance or maybe unskilled technicians to keep up with servicing them!
Do these folks know what preventive maintenance means?

Do they know what preventive maintenance is???

Might be lack of management their knowledge or maybe they don’t pay attention to the demand from customers needing the equipment!

Shame on LA Fitness management, paying your membership fee and you cannot use some equipment especially when there is only one of that kind of fitness unit!

This LA fitness needs serious work. Roof leaks and has for months. This has the basketball court closed for months and buckets upstairs anytime it rains. How is this safe? Several machines are out of order and have been for several weeks if not months. Super dirty as well. Needs a deep clean all around. Lockers, equipments, and weights are all dirty and look to not be touched. Location is convenient.

Great place, clean and spacious. I had an issue with the 3 day pass. One of the employees was not so happy of us as visitors in the area using it, but Mr. King jumped up and took care of us, really appreciate his service and dedication to his clients.

Met with King, he was fantastic! The gym had a nice layout with plenty of machines and weights, and good space in between the equipment. Didnt get too motivated in working out and actually joining, just not a very exciting vibe If you live close by, its a fine gym. King was very helpful and informative. I almost joined because of him but I need something a little more lively and closer to home.

When trying to cancel my subscription due to moving to another city, the receptionist was incredibly rude and not trying to help at all. The cancellation process itself is incredibly complicated and involves sending a letter to california. You’d expect for the horrendous subscription fee youd at least find helpful staff.

As soon as she printed my note of resignation she basically kicked me out with a bunch of sarcastic comments.

Before that encounter I’ve been encouraged to leave a review, so here I am.

The gym itself is nice and the rest of the staff seems cool.
