The attention is so bad, give priority only to the members of the team in open gym, I was there with my daughter that no training in the club and the customer service was very bad.

My 9 year old has been attending LWRG since she had just turned 2 years old. We started back then in the Little Movers class with Coach Jill who is absolutely amazing!! She has a gift of keeping toddlers and preschoolers excited and engaged while also being able to run a structured class. That can be a hard thing to do with littles like that!
She has now been on team for about 4 years, and through that time we’ve had several wonderful coaches. Coach Caroline is a truly gifted team coach. She has a strong commitment to developing these girls to be the absolute best athletes they can be. She is a good mix of being an encouraging and tough coach with a real sharp eye for details. It’s so neat to see how my child has grown and progressed under her direction. My daughter loves her. This season we have a new coach on bars, Coach Gaby, who has been an absolute wonderful addition to the gym!! She is so great at building an athlete’s self esteem and coaching in a way that just clicks for the kids. Both Coach Caroline and Coach Gaby helped my child break through mental blocks she was having this season and I’m so grateful for that!
Another thing I really love about LWRG is how they focus on proper technique training. It’s so impressive to see how incredibly hard these girls work at their practices!

Make sure you drive a Tesla, Audi, or something fancy before bringing your kid to this gym. If you do, this place will treat your child like a star — full attention, smiles, and “special treatment.” But if you don’t, and your child is just a hardworking, talented athlete, do yourself a favor and stay away.
The coaches here are not what you’d expect from a serious gymnastics program. They show clear favoritism — it’s painful to watch. Kids who aren’t part of the “preferred” group get ignored or corrected from a distance, with no real coaching or hands-on help. They basically expect the girls to teach themselves, and then they try to sell you private lessons to “fix” what they never bothered to teach properly in the first place. Total money grab.
If you’re hoping your kid will be motivated and guided, you’ll be disappointed. The energy is cold and discouraging. I’ve even seen coaches talk to 10-year-olds with zero patience or respect — like they forget they’re kids who need encouragement, not attitude.
Bottom line: unless you’re part of their inner circle or look the part, your child won’t get the attention or training they deserve. It’s not about talent here — it’s about money and appearances.

I had my daughter enrolled at Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics for over a year, attending twice a week and paying $177/month. Unfortunately, in all that time, she barely progressed. Every class seemed to have new beginners, but no one was really paying attention to whether long-time students were improving.
I tried to address this with the front desk and was told someone would call me. After sending an email, I finally got a callback from the director, who asked if my daughter’s skills book was up to date. The problem is that most of the time there were substitutes, and substitutes aren’t allowed to sign off on skills. So even though she had mastered certain skills, she was missing a signature. The director promised to have the teacher check her and follow up.
My daughter was so excited, but when we came back, nothing happened. We even added sticky notes to her book to make it clear, but no teacher looked at it or talked to us. After all that time and money, it felt like no one cared about her progress.
As a parent, I feel this gym is more focused on filling classes and collecting tuition than actually helping kids grow. Once we switched to a new gym, after just one class my daughter was placed in Beginner Level 3 — exactly where she should have been all along.
Don’t waste your time or money here.

Update: Our gymnast has now moved into team level and just completed her 3rd year of competitions. It's hard work and fairly expensive to travel and compete, but her self confidence has soared and she's always excited to attend practice. LRG always places 1st in team all-around, and our gymnast has had several 1st all around and individual events as well.
As a former gym owner with 40 years of coaching experience, I did my homework before deciding on where I wanted to enroll my, now 5 yr old granddaughter for classes. LRG cked all the boxes, not only in gymnastics certifications, but also safety and first aid training for the staff. The child has done well this year in her recreational class with Coach Jill and has been recognized for her flexibility and potential to excel in the sport. She has recently moved to twice a week pre team classes and is greatly improving. I have observed her class and found it a busy and happy place to learn. Children learn so much more than gymnastics when in class, such as coordination, balance, skills, self confidence and much more. She comes home happy and excited to show her family her new skills. I would recommend this business and we are looking forward to seeing where our gymnast goes with her sport. Thank you Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics. Happy flipping!

Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics is, without question, one of the finest gymnastics training facilities in the U.S. From the moment you step inside, it’s clear that this is not just a recreational space—it’s a disciplined, structured, and professionally run environment dedicated to developing strong, confident, and capable athletes.
The coaching staff is phenomenal. They’re experienced, passionate, and fully committed to helping each child grow—not just in gymnastics, but in mindset, work ethic, and resilience. The facility itself is clean, safe, and equipped to support athletes at every stage, from beginners to competitive elites.
Now, to address a few of the negative comments that have surfaced: It’s important to understand what this facility is—and what it’s not. Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics is not a playground or a babysitting service. This is a training center, and with that comes structure, expectations, and a focus on skill development. A small minority may misunderstand the purpose of a serious gymnastics program, expecting free play or a casual experience. That’s simply not what LWRG is about—and frankly, that’s what makes it exceptional.
Our family couldn’t be more impressed with the growth, discipline, and joy our child has experienced here. This is a place where goals are set, effort is expected, and excellence is encouraged. We’re incredibly grateful to be a part of the LWRG community.

We started at Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics a little over 3 years ago. My daughter started out in recreational classes and loved each of her coaches. As she progressed, she decided to tryout for team which has been an amazing experience! We would highly recommend LWRG for anyone who is a beginner or serious about gymnastics.

Unfortunately we had a very traumatic experience here. I took my twin toddlers to the Saturday open gym this evening at 6:30pm. I wasn’t sure of the rules or what to expect but we were all very excited to have the experience as the twins seemed very interested! We were told by the women at the front desk that only one parent could go in and the other has to wait in the upstairs area which we thought ok they must have plenty of supervision already available. Upon entry another woman approached me and said I have to be with them at all times during the duration of the time. I said ok I am one person and can’t physically stand beside both of them at different stations let me grab my husband ….. no not an option…..they would not let us both be in there ( per the front desk) I myself am physically incapable of being in two places at one time so I had to collect my twins who were devastated we had to leave two minutes after arrival :/ one parent with one child under the age of two is my understanding (ok great) so I am one parent with one child and dad is one parent with one child …. Should we have walked in separately and checked in separately and pretended they were not siblings…this would be acceptable? I would love some feedback from other twin or triplet moms with toddlers how they work around these policies so there children can have a safe fun time and explore there interests. We are disappointed but will be trying other gyms to see if our well behaved twins can participate under supervision there hopefully with more understanding, reasonable personnel.

For our own experience I would give them stars. For what I saw of the classes, I believe they are likely a 5 star gymnastics school. So for that, I think it is fair to give them 3 stars. My wife had great communication from Erin for weeks leading up to team tryouts. When we got there everything was great, the girls tired out, we discussed details and we were told our girls were first up on the waiting list as the class was full. Understandable. After a few weeks my wife text Erin to check in as the kids were excited to know when they may be able to start. No response after multiple attempts when leading up to the tryouts, Erin’s communication was great. We called multiple times and left multiple messages for her and no response. It has been 6 months now and still no call back. We did not know what to tell our kids about whether or not they made it or would be going to LWR. If they did not make the team that is fine To this day, no idea why they stopped talking to us. Shame because again, the class looked really great. We ended up at North Port Gymnastics and we are very happy. All we expected was a phone call or even a text.
UPDATE : The day after posting this review we got a text message from the gym for the lack of communication. As a small business owner myself, I understand how hard it is to retain a good Google rating and how importation it is. I changed my original 2 star to a 3 after they reached out to us. I hear their training is first class, but has a long list to get in.

Well organized gym with friendly staff. We went for the open gym time. It was probably a little busier than normal because of summer but play area was a little more limited than the free play I used to take my daughter to at a different gym (who seem to no longer offer it). Only other small complaint was that it smelled strongly of sweat, which makes sense for a gym but idk if maybe they need a better air system. Also observed their summer camp going on, which seemed well organized. Overall, it’s a good place.

LWRGA is an outstanding facility! Our grand daughter Alaska has learned a great deal in a short period of time. Coach Whitney is amazing. She is extremely professional, knowledgeable and dedicated to her work. She provides a level of inspiration and motivation that has helped Alaska excel in the gym! She is looking forward to the next level in hopes of being on a team in the future. Thank you Whitney for believing in Alaska and giving her a solid foundation to pursue the sport of gymnastics!

I would rate this gym a 10 star if I could, it is amazing and love the coaches, they work very well with the kids and new people. Open gym if awesome and it is a great way to teach the newcomers how to behave and get better at the skills they have been working on. The kids are very nice at open gym and at practice by talking and helping out the newcomers when they don't understand something or need help.

Where do I start! Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics has been awesome from the start. My 3 year old daughter loves it there and they really take the time to know each kid, improve upon their skills but also make sure to have fun. We’ve loved all our coaches, but Ms Whitney has truly left an impression on my daughter. When a new teacher takes over for whatever reason, I really like how there is a shadow/transition phase. My daughter is very cautious around new people, and it makes her feel very comfortable with the new coach when the one we’ve previously had is also there with her. Thank you for giving my daughter a sport she has stayed interested in more than a month!

Let me start off by saying we drive OVER AN HOUR to come to Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics. I decided to give it a shot because I was a former gymnast and my daughter started showing interest in gymnastics. My main priority for her was to learn proper technique and progressions for safety reasons. After doing some research I knew that Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics was very serious about how they taught. Faster doesn’t mean better is my favorite saying in gymnastics because it’s true. When we walked in the building I immediately wanted to congratulate the owners because of how beautiful and how professional it was at first glance. Well I watched my daughters first class I couldn’t tell if I was having more fun than she was. We both were thrilled just to be there. She was so comfortable with her coaches right from the start. It is something we look forward to every single week. I would drive to the ends of the earth to teach my daughter what gymnastics taught me. To persevere, to have grit and determination and to be committed. I feel so blessed to have found Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics. The following week the whole
gang came. My two other children (4)&(1) and my husband all watched our girl do her thing. They have a beautiful parent area where you can see the entire gym. As we drove home my husband even said.. it’s a really great and clean facility with a ton of nice equipment! We are all so happy and proud to be apart of Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics!

First impressions are everything. Tonight Lakewood ranch gymnastics and Jill T. FAILED. In this unprecedented time where a pandemic has kept us locked in our homes secluded and isolated; I was looking for something to get my child out and back into social interactions. Being a former gymnast and high school cheerleading coach I thought gymnastics would be a great way to get out some energy out and teach my son some life skills. So tonight he had his 1st introductory class and the setup was parent free watching from the balcony. Jill T. was leading the class and although she came out a little loud and rough, I thought this could be a good learning lesson. Now don't get me wrong my child has played in multiple sports in the Lakewood ranch area and has dealt with a plethora of coaches. And I am not one of those parents where every kid gets a trophy or afraid of a little tough love. My child was yanked out of line and yelled directly in his face for attempting to follow a warm up song and dance he had never experienced before. My child is only 3 years old! 3 years old.
Now for a business to place in their mission statement " to provide the highest quality gymnastic training to all ages and levels of athletes in a safe, positive and stimulating environment, while developing strong, happy young people of good character and good sportsmanship." This is NOT what was demonstrated tonight by their director of the preschool program.
So if LWR gymnastics is looking for the next Simone Biles and only wants top athletes who want to train seriously for Olympics thats fine; but don't market yourself as a family teaching gym and you don't have the patience to handle three year olds.
We left immediately after the incident and I tried to console my son who was visibly upset. After consulting with my friend who has been to the gym, she responded "Was it coach Jill??" So this is obviously not the first time their director has been rough.
I left a message with the front office which got back to me tonight, and they said " we understand...and Jill is a stern coach... but they would let her know and inform the owners." Then she proceeded to try and offer me free classes with another coach to try and retain business. No apologies given, no accountability taken just a business trying to keep the money coming in.
Most likely this Jill T will get another slap on the wrist and she will continue on her rude and unprofessional behavior. But for me I will say she is the worst director of preschool gymnastics in all of LWR. It seems her stern mannerisms would serve best with the older, more serious age groups.
It is sad to say I have only heard good things about all the other coaches at this gym. Unfortunately we drew the short straw and got Jill T, and our first impression will definitely take our business elsewhere.

We have been coming to LWRG since 2017, and currently have three daughters enrolled at the gym. All 3 have started between the age of 18-24 months in mommy and me classes with Coach Jill, and have advanced through the programs accordingly. Here at LWRG, my girls have discovered a passion that I didn’t even know they had in them.
My oldest daughter started with Coach Jill in mommy-and-me at 2 years old. (My daughter also had Coach Shay for a little while, and she is wonderful as well!) My daughter continued into preschool and recreational classes with Coach Jill until she was invited to the pre-team in 2019. She is currently competing in the compulsory program. If she didn’t see the potential my daughter had, I don’t believe she would be where she is today. She continues to build her up every time she sees her, along with her new coaches Sophie and Jenna. Coach Sophie and Coach Jenna are very talented coaches that believed in and challenged my daughter to be the best she can be. You wouldn’t believe the amount of progress she has made. Each coach at LWRG has pushed her to be a gymnast capable of more than I ever expected!
My middle daughter began mommy and me classes just before she turned 2 years old, again with Coach Jill, and is currently in her preschool classes. She is a LOUD, sassy, handful of diva that does not have the best “listening ears.” I am amazed at the patience Coach Jill has with her (and many other young, excited kids). It is not an easy feat to deal with my daughter and Coach Jill does it with such grace and ease. I really appreciate the support and encouragement she gives the little ones. She deserves a gold medal after each class!
My youngest recently began mommy and me classes with Coach Jill (at 18 months) and has already had noticeable improvements in her strength and listening skills. Her confidence and courage is at an all time high, and she is much more social than she was before starting classes!
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend LWRG (Coach Jill in particular for young beginners) to anyone looking for an amazing gym that instills not only strength and skills, but true grit, determination, persistence, confidence, and integrity (to name a few). It is incredible to see the growth in not only my girls, but every single young child that I’ve seen walk through those doors- it is a true testament to the teaching and coaching implemented at this gym. It is also the place for your child if you want them to build lasting relationships with top notch mentors! Whether your child is just looking to release some energy, or train to be a champion, I’d recommend Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics!

We started taking our 2 toddlers at the time to open gym at LWRG every week almost 7 years ago. It was at open gym where we first met Coach Jill. I instantly connected with her as did my son and daughter. She has such a great passion for both kids and the sport of gymnastics. My daughter couldn’t wait to turn 3 so she could start in a class. We requested to be in Jill’s class and even waited a little longer for her to have an opening. Our daughter thrived in her class! Now our daughter is almost 9 and is on level 4 with the compulsory team. She’s trained with Coaches Caroline, Chi an Dali. They’ve all been top notch. Our daughter still makes time each week to find Coach Jill in the gym to give her a hug and tell her how her training is going. I love their bond. We are back to attending open gym again with our 2 year old who is obsessed with going to open gym and seeing Coach Jill. I’ve already inquired about which class of hers our daughter can start in August after she turns 3. We can’t imagine her learning gymnastics from anyone else. We are so blessed to have this high level of gymnastics training only 10 minutes from home. The team training is so impressive to watch at LWRG. The coaches are so efficient with the practice time and they teach the proper technique. Raving family of 5 here! Keep up the great work!!

My daughter started at Lakewood Ranch almost four years ago after suffering a back injury at her last gym. The owners and coaches at Lakewood Ranch provided every thing my daughter needed to be an elite gymnast. My daughter repeatedly said she would not ever go to another gym because she loved her coaches and the training too much at Lakewood Ranch and would not want to go to a gym with mediocre training. If your daughter is interested in being trained by the best and competing against the best competition then Lakewood Ranch is the answer. We can only speak for the competitive program and we loved the structure and seriousness of all the coaches. They take their job serious and it shows in the girls. To no fault of the gym or coaches we are writing this review to thank the gym because our daughters back injury from years ago has caused her to Take a break from the sport she loves. Thank you to Laura and all the coaches, you have had a positive impact on our daughters life and we are grateful for all you have done for our daughter. UPDATE: wow, what a response. And as in every aspect of society today no one is willing to accept criticism or responsibility for anything. In speaking with the coach that day we accepted responsibility for my sons actions and assured them it would not happen again, but that he was defending himself. The coach said the other student did nothing at all, yet I have three people in the gallery that saw everything that happened - and we were never contacted. We tried to get in touch with ownership and no one would respond. Neither the coach nor the facility will accept responsibility for the other child kicking my son. The office staff acknowledged an issue with the other student and apologized, and we tried for a week to get responses and was never told they were looking into it. We do have a voicemail from the office staff saying they don’t want a negative review online so we can have passes. But it’s not worth it. It’s ok, we at a much better facility with better set up and much better program where we are thriving. Everything happens for a reason, and I don’t like leaving reviews but when we are told don’t put a bad review I have to be honest. I just wish more people could do the same. And we never asked for a full refund, just the annual fee since we didn’t finish the month and would not be coming back. We thought as a customer courtesy this would be appropriate.
I would not recommend this gym for recreational classes, especially for boys. My son along with others were bullied and purposefully kicked by a long time student which managemt acknowledged, but made excuses for. When we asked for the annual fee to be refunded they stated that they will not do that but to avoid a bad review online we could have two free open gym passes. Our response was no thanks, if my child is bullied and kicked in a structured class, what would happen to him in an unstructured open gym.
Details: we started with a free trial class for my 6 year old son. First class went ok, we thought it was odd that the boys class was relegated to a small corner of the gym barely visible to the parents sitting upstairs and had very little use of equipment. Each class we began to notice that two boys in the class seemed to pick on a different child in class each week. By the 3rd week my son was the target but this time the bully got physical. He was karate kicking my son during warm ups, after the third kick while I went downstairs to speak with management my son was moved because he retaliated and pushed back. The Manager spoke with the coach and they assured me it won’t continue. Well it did and the bully kicked my son again where my son protected himself. Again my son was taken out of class. I Tried speaking to the coach and he would not entertain the idea that the other child could bully or hurt my son, my son took the blame. We tried speaking to management and they said they understand our concerns and acknowledged they know the boy we said bullied our son and they know what happened in class when My son was kicked but made excuses for the boy doing it. There is nothing that makes this acceptable, all we asked for was the annual fee refunded, not the full amount we paid for the month and didn’t finish the classes because we were not confident he would be safe in class. The gym was more concerned with a bad review - not the safety of my son.

My daughter has been a member for three years now. This is a fantastic facility with amazing owners and coaches. She has progressed so much and we sincerely appreciate all the coaches that worked with her so far: Coach Jill, Sara, Kara, Sophia and Antonio.
This facility has increased my daughters self esteem and has taught her patience, attention to detail and determination.
I highly recommend this facility for open sessions, kids have an amazing time playing and practicing while monitored by some great group of ladies.
If your child is aspiring gymnast or just wants to have a summer fun this facilities summer camp is the one for you. My daughter attended for a month and loved it.
The only recommendation I have that zero bullying tolerance is applied during the open sessions regardless of status. Kids are kids but name calling and pushing should not be tolerated in any dose.
With owners being involved and such great people I have no doubt that such issue will be addressed accordingly.

Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics is not only a gym, but also a place where your child can bloom and learn valuable life skills, whether they are on the recreational or competitive team. My child has learned how to become a strong and determined young lady through her experience at LWRG. Her and I have created strong friendships through her sport over the past five years, because their gymnasts and parents are truly exceptional people. This gym is a place where respect rules between teammates, parents and coaches. The Coaches are very professional, and I always felt like my child’s safety was a priority. I feel privileged to have been part of the LWRG family. Definitely THE Best gym in Florida.

My daughter Sky has been at LWR gymnastics for about 6 weeks now and after trying many activities she has finally found her niche. She loves it there and they are just fantastic!!! She has been to Summer camp there and loved every minute of it Coach Madison was amazing as well as everything else. If you are thinking of sending your child to gymnastics send them here. 5 stars!!!

Very happy here. Yes - they teach top-quality gymnastics. They do this by having coaches who foster an environment that makes the athletes want to work to achieve their goals. They also teach about teamwork, the importance of training, and following directions. All very important lessons for gymnastics, and for life. They have instilled confidence in our daughter to be able to perform in front of spectators and judges - something that she would not have been able to do before.

They are wonderful. My grand daughter loves it. Everyone is so nice its hard to get away sometimes. Maybe they will add a 24/7 schedule. :) Great people all around. Coach Andy has impressed me with how he works with these future Olympians/Gold Metal winners. It's amazing!!!

Rude people, well below average training compared to other programs in the area.

My daughter loves this place! We tried out a couple of other facilities in the area and my daughter did not want to do back. We both love the teaching methods. They let the kids enjoy themselves but also keep them in line as if they were in school to not disturb the kids that were more focused. The ladies in the office are very friendly and always greet us with a smile. I do not seem to have a problem with parking but then again it may be her class time. The only complaint I do have is that I wish there were a couple more options for later classes in the week. My daughter does not leave school until 4pm and I work until 5pm so there is no way we can go for a 4:30 or 5:30 class time.

Not a totally bad experience until today. When Judy from the gymnastics office calls me after two months since my daughter finished the school year to tell me I was behind on my payments. Mind you before going to summer break, I had told them that my daughter was going to be out of state for the summer. They let me know that I was going to have to register again for the upcoming school year and didn't ask me to put it in writing. When I told her (Judy) this, she let me know that "everyone" knew about their policy...so I told her (very mad) that I would pay as soon as possible and I hung up the phone.
A few minutes later I had to call back, cause it is just not fair that I have to pay, since I had already told them she wasn't going to be there for the summer, and they had NEVER before today communicated with me. So I let Judy know that I was not going to pay absolutely nothing...that is where she hung up the phone at me...and now I am letting you know....They are disorganized and RUDE!
