Both Flamingo and Mustang are nice resort courses, with average layouts and quality greens, but they are way overpriced at $340+ (March 2025). Also, the starter and rangers are quite rude and act like it's a privilege to play there. Overall, the customer service is definitely lacking and the value for the high price is poor.

Had a a really poor experience dealing with the pro shop regarding the golf range 'day pass'. After calling the pro shop I was informed there is a daily range pass ($40 from 1-3pm). Although that is certainly no bargain, the choices to hit golf balls in naples are few and far between. After a 40 minute drive to the course I arrived to find golfers hitting off of mats on the range. This is an expensive resort course on a beautiful February afternoon. What a joke. Needless to say I was completely dumbfounded. Do I think the representative in the pro shop should have mentioned the driving range was 'mats only'?? That would have been the courteous thing to do.
The golf here is over-priced and overrated. $40 for 2 hours at a driving range to hit off of mats!

Don't waste your time or money with Lely.

Mustang Course: The course is rather average, 3 out of 5. Greens are in good shape, fairways are OK but the layout is limited by the terrain and it feels like you are playing the same hole over and over again.
Bunkers are in good shape. The tees are in poor condition with grass so high you’ll struggle to use tees.
Driving range is good though, letting you hit off the grass with good quality balls.
Green fee is USD 300 and if matched with experience it should be lower.
Staff in restaurant is friendly and service-minded.
If you have the option, play the sister course Flamingo instead.

Ein schöner Golfplatz an dessen Qualität es nichts auszusetzen gibt. Ich hatte manchmal das Gefühl das Loch schon mal gespielt zu haben. Einige Grüns waren nicht ganz perfekt aber immer noch gut zu spielen.
Flamingo am 25.11.24 :
Für mich der schönere Golfplatz. Abwechslungsreicherer Platz durch sich ändernde Vegetation. Und auch der etwas schwieriger zu spielende Platz.
Aber beide Plätze waren top. Ich würde sie immer wieder spielen.

I recently visited Naples with seven friends for a golf trip to celebrate a 30th birthday. We played four rounds, including one at Lely Flamingo course for $290 ($315 with taxes). Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the rude behavior of the course marshal. Despite our group being only 6 minutes behind pace, he approached both foursomes twice, demanding we play faster. This unwarranted attitude significantly detracted from our enjoyment and left us questioning the value of the $315 spent.

While the course itself was decent, I’d recommend exploring alternatives like Old Corkscrew or Arrowhead for a more enjoyable golfing experience. Customer service matters, especially at premium prices, and the treatment we received was far from satisfactory.

I played the Mustang course on 11/14. The fairways were generous considering the course is located in a resort neighborhood. The greens were immaculate and not as fast as I would have guessed. It was a fun course. I’m a 17 HCP and had no issues playing bogey golf. I was able to get a tee time as a single and was grouped with 3 great guys. The only downside for me was the 3 day advanced tee time. I was planning a vacation so I had to hope I could get a tee time once I was in the area. But, I had no problem getting a mid morning tee time. This is one of the nicer courses near Marco Island that will allow non-members or non-resort guests to play. It was an exceptional experience and the staff was great.

Where do I start. First time playing here. Paid over 175 bucks to play. Could not finish round because had doctors appointment. Asked Mark in pro shop I will come back in 1 hour if possible. He said ok with attitude. Not cool. When I came back I was able to play but maintenance was edging with very noisy blower machine pulled behind cart. They followed me for 6 holes. They where in my way many times and even went by me once and blew dirt in my eye. After I played I complained to Mark. He could care less. He took my number and said pro would call me. I got no phone call. Just poor customer service.

Flamingo: A 5-star course! Greens are in very good conditions with undulations on acceptable speeds. The front-9 is more about lakes while the back-9 is with pine tree lines. There are plenty of huge fairway bunkers strategically placed to make the fairways narrower to increase difficulties. There are also rolling hills to make the course more interesting in S. Florida.

Mustang: At best a 4-star course! Some greens and fairways do have burned spots. These spots on the greens do not affect putting; in fact, the green speeds are very good too. This is a much simpler course with wide-open fairways than the Flamigo.

It's recommended to check for aerification schedules before making reservations in the summer.

Great golf course. Very well taken care of course. Bunkers are everywhere making you either play very conservative or aggressive. Greens rolled inconsistent. Speeds seemed to change every hole and the sand would bounce the ball around. Still highly recommend playing but take the greens with a grain of salt. Or I guess sand

Great golf courses (played both Flamingo and Mustang) and encountered friendly and helpful staff. The Rangers did keep us playing at a good pace and I appreciated the friendly but firm way it was handled. Looking forward to our next visit already. Finished off the afternoon with a fantastic meal at Sam Snead's.

Worst experience at a golf course I have ever had. At the beginning I thought it was a discrimination stuff but after reading another reviews I realized that problem is the awkward way pro shop and rangers handle a slow pace situation. In hole number 5 we were followed de a Ranger with 6 minutes behind pace(with one hole clear behind us). When we finished the hole, Ranger gave us the order to skip the next one, which we were in total disagreement, meanwhile Pro Shop sent the following message…. proceed to skip the hole or abandon the course immediately.
We packed up our clubs and left.
There was no screaming or fighting, we just left the premises.
We planned that weekend through a third party golf package promotion and when the people found out about this, they proceeded to give us a refund.
Hope this won’t happen again or find another place with better golf course management.

Staying on the property and wanted my 13 year old son to use the range who plays on the Junior Tournaments. Wanted to pay whatever fees they have. It was 11:30 and guy in the pro shop said the range is not open to the public until 1:00pm. No problem. We were going to have lunch and asked if he can putt around before our lunch was served and he said no. Not the way to grow the game for juniors. Disappointed.

No way worth the money. At the ceck-in I did not feel welcome at all. The course (Mustang) is at maximum average. The fairways ok, but the greens obviously had a make-over and you still could see the parts replaced. Lots of stones in the bunkers, layout pretty boring. Only the wind made it challenging from time to time. I would not recommend to play here. With a greenfee costing 178 USD I am definitely expecting something else!

Probably the worst golf experience I've had in Florida. From the terrible customer service to the dog track of a golf course I would not recommend this course to anyone. Place was burnt, full of weeds, ball washers were dry as a bone, tee markers were busted up and to top it all off the employees were each out of their league. The guy at the bag drop was mad we were there at dawn ready to go, the pro shop staff was just ok but at least the starter was nice. We only laid eyes on the drink cart once but she rolled right by us and never stopped to see if we wanted anything. The only employee who asked us if we needed anything the whole time while we were there was the guy at the end of our round who offered to clean our clubs. The problem was we were half way to our car when he asked. He was busy talking basketball with the grumpy old bag drop guy. One last bit of advice..... if you do have to play there please know the key to the restrooms is on the key chain for your cart. We played 4.5 hours of golf without a restroom because no one tells you nor does it say anywhere the keys are there.
Way too many other good choices in Southwest Florida to choose from.
The entrance to the neighborhood was beautiful though!

Nice range, Mustang is a solid track with wide open fairways. Pretty forgiving if you are having a bad day off the tee. Flamingo is in not as good as condition, but a solid course nonetheless. A bit overpriced in my opinion but that's expected in high season.

180 dollars for 18 holes or golf where they rush you to the tee 20 minutes early only to have another group tee off right away behind you and to have not one cart girl for 18 holes. Too busy talking with their buddies. Course is in great shape, but would expect better service if you’re paying for a “premiere course.” If I was you I would probably try a different course.

Golf course was in good shape. We had a 12:20 tee time and finished before 4 pm for 18 with 4 golfers. It was a little rainy and the ranger came up to us at one point to tell us to pick up the pace. We were never off time on the gps on our cart. We stopped into the pro shop to talk to some as we felt that we played plenty fast and didn't find it right to be rushed. I was given the name of one of the staff to call and have yet to hear back from him. I don't plan on playing here again in the future.

Update: I did finally receive a call from the course and they stated that they would follow-up with the ranger and then call me back. I have yet to hear back from them.

We made a reservation and were allowed to golf on the Flamingo course. They were in the process of doing maintenance on the course. We were the only ones golfing it. They were out sanding the course and working on the greens. Not sure why they didn't have us golf the other course!

Also - everyone but the starter were super non-friendly on the borderline of rude.

The course looks like it would be amazing under different circumstances.

Played here 2 weeks ago (Flamingo), was expecting so much more. Course was NOT in good condition. Tee boxes were spotty, fairways just ok. Sand traps were HORRIBLE, barely any sand and tons of rocks in them. And not just 1 or 2 traps, lots of them (unfortunately I was in a lot of them!) Really disappointed. Don't think I will recommend this course anymore.

Resturants, golf, tennis, pickle ball, basketball, pools, big homes, small homes, condos, expensive, not so expensive, and a small hotel (Greenlinks) as well.
The Players club is a country club living resort.
Only 15 minutes to the beaches, marinas and Naple's so called 5th Ave. More restaurants and entertainment..so much do do!!! What first??? Enjoy, lots of fun..

Played 3/21/19 on the Mustang course. Electric cart died first hole. No easy way to contact clubhouse. They replaced cart after 20 minutes. Played 12 holes more holes and this cart died and I had to push cart in by hand because pro shop shut down. This use to be a 5 star facility, maybe 2 stars now.

The Flamingo Island layout is one of the last courses designed by the legendary acrhitect Robert Trent Jones Sr. The Mustang by Lee Trevino is designed as a generally forgiving layout, although 12 lakes and extensive bunkering will need to be navigated around during your round.

Only a 1 based upon the price/value of the course. We played Flamingo for $129 per pp. Based upon the condition of the course and pace of play certainly not worth it. Greens are in terrible condition ( very slow and it was apparent they did not cut them this morning) and they are clearly are not watering the rough as it is an absolute dog track. So many great courses in Naples to choose from. I would pick another track where you pay $75- $100 for a much better course

From the moment we pulled in we were greeted with a welcoming staff and it carried thru to all working at this fine golf club. (Felt like a member at my own GC)
Course was excellent in my opinion and greens ran true. Very windy day for us so it made things interesting. Lots of sand yes but only if you hit into it. 😉 Carts have GPS to help with distances and scoring. 👍🏻 Keep up the good work...I'll be back.

We were paired with with 2 people that would shoot around 140 / 150 which rather spoilt the experience as they were inevitably slow. We had to spend half our time looking for their balls and then rushing our own game to minimise the group's delay.
The starter should understand players' capabilities and ensure suitable pairings.
