My daughter has been going here for almost a year and I realized I never left a review. My daughter started in February 2024 in the preschool classes as she was only 3. She then was able to join the Level 1 class a month or two early (before her 4th bday). She was in level 1 for about 2 months before she passed her skill testing and is now in level 2. When I tell you all of the coaches here are AMAZING, I mean it. From coach Mark in preschool classes to all the different coaches my daughter had in level 1 (Iyesha, Tameka, Rayne, Cole?) I might be getting the names wrong but they’re AWESOME! She’s level 2 now and her coach is awesome. They keep your kids safe and teach them so well. My daughter advanced super quick and truly loves MGA. I can’t wait for her to be on preteam. If you’re looking for a gym that cares and allows your child to grow - this is it. I also love the in gym competitions so you can always see where your gymnast is improving.

This gym has a friendly, child focused atmosphere. My daughter has loved every time she has come to this gym. The facility is great, clean and welcoming to parents.
I would like to highlight how amazing the staff is, especially Coach Meka and Coach LJ! They meet your child where they are and work to help them improve. They are encouraging, patient and kind. My daughter said, “I want to go there EVERYDAY!”

It’s pretty good but I barely ever have the same coach every class. I don’t really like switching from a coach that knows me so well and what I can do, to someone that thinks I can’t do anything so they make me do the easy stuff. I hate having to do makeup classes especially when they close their gym all the time. I don’t have time to make up all the classes at reasonable times. It’s fun but the more they make advances, the less I like it. Coaches now follow a binder that has skill levels. Since I had to be in level 1 I can do things that aren’t on level one but I can’t practice them. Im not learning anything. There’s so many rules it’s getting very boring to come two times a week just do the same thing over and over. I’ve been here before and i loved it way more than I do now. The changes recently have just not been my cup of tea. My favorite coach doesn’t teach my class day anymore so that’s why I’m complaining about the switching of coaches. I am the child attending by the way. I will still continue to go here until I just don’t want to. But there’s not all negative things. Even though I have a different coach everytime, they are all super sweet and funny even though they have to follow a level rubric. I usually come to class just to have another social connection with a different coach. The learning experience BEFORE all these changes in the past 3weeks were very awesome. I used to do drills for the things I told my coach I wanted to learn plus the things I had to learn to move on. The coaches are probably the best part of MGA. They encourage and give you the pep talks you have always needed. Everyone is really nice but the program is just not it. I know organization is key, but it’s ruining my experience to a point I’m NOT learning.

My daughter did a trial class. The woman at the front was super nice but the pregnant woman (I didn’t catch her name) had such an attitude. When I told her my daughter was here for a trial class and didn’t know where to go she looked annoyed and snapped at the front desk lady for not telling her she was a trial. The place is so chaotic I guess they have after school kids there as well. When I was sitting at the top watching my child a two year old was climbing up a pad that was leaning against a beam and no one noticed her until she was almost falling off the top. Too much horseplay going on. At the end of the trial they were supposed to determine the level class my daughter should be in since this is her 2nd year and no one even spoke to me after or communicated with me. No one even followed up by email or phone. We decided to make the drive and stay at a place where these issues do not happen and my child is safe and happy.

The location is perfect for our family. We attend regular classes with both of our girls ages 6 & 7 twice per week. We also have children that play basketball/train on the basketball court. I would say communication could be a lot better. A better system regarding the restroom and little ones needs to be addressed. Yesterday on two occasions children left class to use the restroom and began crying in the hallway as they either couldn't find their parent and wasn't sure if they should head back to class. This wasn't the first time that I've seen this happen and it's heart wrenching. Some staff members aren't very personable and wear their frustration. I've experience this more recently at the front desk. Overall, it's a good find but as with any business does have a few things that should be corrected.

The building this place is in was originally known as cps sports complex. I was the property manager for 2 years there. The whole staff in mga (which is a separate company) is beyond amazing! The owners are involved every day. They supply the best for you and your kids. They are beyond amazing! I recommend this place 100% I currently have a two year old daughter that will be starting there soon because they treat every customer with at most respect and you honestly feel like family when you enter their business. Ps: they throw really good birthday party’s for the kids.

We have been a member at MGA for about 3 years now. My daughter has not only grown in her gymnastics skills but she has become so much more confident in herself. They offer in-house competition which she has loved competing in. They have done a wonderful job keeping the gym clean and safe for all the students during this pandemic. We recently moved our daughter up to the competitive team and in 3 weeks she has improved so much. MGA is a wonderful family owned business and i recommend it to anyone!

Please see update below...I have been bringing my 6 year old daughter to the drop-in classes at MGA twice a week for 3 weeks. She has been attending the tumbling and ninja squad classes. We had not committed because there is no sense of relationship building or community with the staff and the students. This is important to our family. Today after warm up the kids were split up into their respected classes for the day. Well...my kid was the ONLY kid left sitting by herself on the mat!!! No one even noticed or came back for her! My husband had to leave from the parent waiting area, after waiting SEVERAL minutes for someone to notice that they left a 6 year old kid by herself! How both coaches just walked off without a kid and didn’t even notice she wasn’t with them?!? Because they don’t know the kids or try to get to know them. When my husband brought the fact that they just left her sitting there to their attention, not so much as an apology was given.
If you are looking for a place that will pay attention to your child, don’t take them here!!!!!
Update:Thank you for your call. You seem really nice. My husband and I are very reasonable people and I have NEVER written a review about any company before. I believe my husband’s vision of events. He is not one to complain. I mentioned to him the items mentioned in the call and this response and he says those statements are not true.i understand the need to represent your company well but an apology would have been better as mistakes do happen. The original review does not say she was left alone in the gym but she was left sitting alone on the mat, which she was.
Thank you for responding but I stand by my original reciew.

They don't keep the same coaches everyweek so then they don't get to know your child's ability good enough. We showed up for a tumble class and my son was put is a Ninja class due to small class size. The one that worries me the most is how they expect a handicap mother to walk all the way to the front of the building to get an elevator to watch up stairs then walk all the way back again to get car. When there are benches right out front of gym to sit.

Given the concerns over COVID-19 and the health and well being of our children they are extremely lax when it comes to parents wearing masks. Even one of the coaches didn't feel a need to wear a mask while coaching, even though all of the other coaches were.

My daughter attended MGA Maryland for 9 years as a competitive gymnast, and loved it! (And also met many of her gymnastics goals) This is a family-owned gym-Apopka has the same coaches and the same management and teaching style that my daughter thrived under. As a parent, I always felt that my daughter was safe in the gym--in all respects. She had friends, she learned proper gymnastics, she had fun. Her coaches nurtured the whole child, not just the gymnast, and her experiences there helped shape her into the stellar person she is today. She attended MGA Apopka for a week one summer, and I can attest, the philosophies and methodologies are the same. The facility in Florida is top-notch as well. Our younger son did Ninja camp there the same week, and really enjoyed it.
When MGA MD closed down its competitive team, we looked for a replacement gym, and though we looked into several very good gyms, we could not find one that met all our needs/requirements as well as this gym did. If we lived within commuting distance of Apopka, I would have taken her there in a heartbeat.
My son now attends MGA Maryland, and though his personality and goals are much different than my daughter's, he is also having a very positive experience at MGA. I highly recommend this gym.

I was introduced to MGA Gymnastics 11 years ago, when my daughter's competitive cheer team started using this family owned facility for training. They offered a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patrons. The students from young toddlers to adults all received awesome training and attention from the dedicated staff. Business owners such as myself know great customer service is essential to staying in business and MGA Gymnastics has been around a long time. For many years I have referred my child care clients to MGA Gymnastics for their children. MGA Gymnastics also gives back to the community. They have been a blessing in disguise to my daughter who a couple of years ago decided to expand her cheerleading career by applying for employment at MGA Gymnastics. Her part- time job at MGA Gymnastics has been a real resume builder and absolutely looked good on her college applications. Thank you MGA Gymnastics for providing my child care clients excellent service. Thanks also for being in the community to provide my daughter a safe and clean facility, private lessons from dedicated staff and part-time employment which has earned her scholarships and acceptance into 11 universites!! My little investment in MGA Gymnastics has come full circle!!

Absolutely horrible. Their not concerned about developing young athletes at all its all about the money for these guys. You sign up, and your kids start to like it, and then they come with all the “fees”. I understand it’s an expensive sport but when it comes to this gym runnn away as fast as possible. Find a coach that cares about developing your young athletes not your pockets. My daughter has been going to this gym for 3yrs so that’s plenty of time to improve. My advice to any parent that is looking into a gym DO NOT go here!!!!!

I do have to say that the phone communication is terrible.
MGA called me and left me a message for my daughter trial.
I returned the call. And told her I am returning a call that was left on my phone to confirm the date and time.
The lady on the line response was I have no idea what your talking about you must have spoken to someone else it was not me. I will leave a message with the manger to call you back. Never received a call back.
Got there on Saturday gave a lady my application and recite of payment we were sent to the back and waited to be called.
The coach grabbed her little group of toddlers and to the middle of the floor.
And I just sat there like ok is my daughter suppose to be there with them.
So I had to interrupt the class present my daughter and ask her is this the toddler class?
This coach was young ,alone , with these babies who were running and crying and looking at everything but the coach.
Toddlers cannot be in an area where you have other gymnast practicing with loud music on.
Sorry but I will not be returning no organization at all I would be afraid of my child getting hurt there.

Let me begin by stating that my Husband and Son both worked part time at this gym. My Husband is a retired elite coach and was asked to come into this gym to assist with growing the team program as a team coach who would be working along side of and training Kellen on how to teach specific advanced skills. Within a few months of working here we, (my husband and I) learned that it was not my Husband's help building a team that was wanted but his knowledge. Kellen came to work 2 out of the 5 days team practiced. Very quickly what we thought was a combined team effort turned into zero team effort. During my Husband's employ he was undermined as a coach, the owner Brian talked badly about him to team parents, Brian talked badly about me to team parents and both of us were completely and totally baffeled as to the drama we would be subjected to with a part time job my Husband volunteered to do for fun. My Husband's phone would ring non stop during non working hours with parental questions and owner problems. Within a few weeks of my Husband being employed the girls were made responsible for stretching and warming up themselves and for doing their own conditioning with no supervision because Brian said he " did not want to pay a coach to condition." After a few months I asked my Husband to please stop helping out this gym because with the constant switching of team coaches and inconsistency, (ie skills being untaught or taught wrong after my Husband fixed the skills) I figured it was only a matter of time before someone got seriously hurt. Since then one child broke the bones that connect to her elbow, permanently disabling her (that is due to teaching improper technique) another child on boy's team permanently damaged a growth plate. Yes gymmastics is dangerous, but injuries like these are rare. My daughter, who was coached by my husband, was in gymnastics from preteam to level 9(almost 9 years) and I have never seen injuries like the ones at this gym. The students are pushed to throw skills. (which means they are not taught proper technique using drills) almost no conditioning. Pushing kids to compete at levels they are not ready for.... I can go on... All you have to do is look at the videos online showing vault practice and compare those to any gym which provides good coaching to see what I mean. Zero form, bad technique. Someone is going to get paralyzed. I will end by stating I realize there are some nice reviews for this gym due to the owner's friends and family writing in recently. My experience and my Husband's experience is ours alone (and the experience of the coach prior to him who owns another gym now) Because of the review I have left for this gym, I have endured a harassing and threatening phone call from Brian calling me a variety of ugly names and I am being accused of slander. I can only assume that is why no one else has left a bad review. Truth is not slander. The videos speak for themselves.
Update, September 2018. Another child has a fractured leg AND my Husband has received a text message from Coach Josh threatening to sue me for slander because of this review. Yes we saved copies of these texts.
Update, October 2018. My Husband received a call from a current parent asking for advice because another child has suffered a serious injury
The owner claims they have no idea why I would write such a poor review? It is simple. When there are terrible injuries caused by inconsistencies when children are concerned it is important people know. The owner literally called and threatened me for leaving this review. Others have left bad reviews that were successfully removed from Google or they were personally threatened until they removed them. Buyer beware.

My son was here for a year and I loved the positive tone they portrayed .
When the booster club forced us to pay 6 months ahead of the competition season I had to pay in full for personal family reasons. A week later when my son broke his hand and we were told he’d be out for at least 8 to 12 weeks, I asked for the early payments back (2 thru 8 ) and the booster club said too bad you paid in full, no refunds. They made exceptions for others, I know this because the coach told me, but not the parent that paid in full:
The months after showed the coaches immaturity level. I’m sad that it ended this way cause I felt the gym had good potential and was committed to another season but this experience showed true colors.
They claim the gym offered me and “olive branch, to allow my son to condition there while he healed” but the coach made it clear he could not coach one group and condition the boys that were injured. So we skipped the 50 min drive to go to the gym.
There are two other gyms in the central Florida area with better coaches and a booster club that won’t rip you off. Yes it’s a no refund but if I didn’t pay in full they would of stopped billing cause he was out for the season.

Like family. Yes they worked very hard and the coaches where great. Even when my girls wanted to give up , the coaches kept giving them positive praises which motivated them to continue. My daughter has been part of the MGA family for many years. It's really like a second home for her. There's always so much good stuff to take advantage of... whether starting out in preschool gymnastics, MGA competitive events, birthday parties and special holiday parties...We've been here for it all! Thanks Brian, Barb and family for caring so much about the kids!

I have been an MGA customer since Jan 2015, and for full disclosure, I run the parent organization for the gym. While no business, coach or child are perfect, we feel this gym truly cares for kids. Some gyms are highly competitive and make you sacrifice everything else for gymnastics, whereas MGA considers the child as a whole.
Those previous negative reviews that have been posted are from those who left because of difficult circumstances, or otherwise just trying to smear MGA’s reputation because they have no other recourse. But I can say for sure that each of those circumstances were considered with the child’s best interest in mind. Gymnastics is not an easy sport, the skills are dangerous, so sometimes kids have to leave the sport for an injury. This happens in every sport as a sport by its very nature induces some risk.
My daughter has been competing in gymnastics for 8 years now, and its a cutthroat sport where you either leave a gym on good terms, or really badly. There is rarely a middle. Gymnastics is a marathon, not a sprint. The coaches/owners at MGA understand gymnastics, have been doing this sport all of their life/career, and this is their family business. We appreciate the values, dedication, and consistency of this gym.
And I could list every other gym in the area too, as can google, it doesn’t make them any better. However, at MGA, gymnasts are children who are cared for, not just monthly income.

This is a family run business. They treat your kids like their own. The birthday parties are also great. If ever we had an issue (very few) it was addressed in a professional and timely manner. The only reason we aren’t with them now is we moved
There is, unfortunately ,a turn-over with teachers. This, like most customer service industries is beyond their control, and I’ve seen both owners jump in and teach if there was need.
(Classes I’ve had experience with: Girls level 1 and 2, Pre-School, Boys level 1, JO team level 1 and 2)

We used to love this gym. We loved our daughters coach. She got let go. I called and asked why because my wife question went unanswered after realizing the coach wasn’t there for three weeks. I was told they cannot disclose why she was let go but “let’s just say it was for safety reasons”. What kind of answer is that!!? You expect me to keep bringing my daughter to a gym who’s staff won’t tell the parents why the coach is let go? But then offer a “hint”. I asked to speak with the manager who informed the staff not to disclose the reason and refuse to give paying customers the coach’s contact information. I was told the manager would tell me the same thing.... I didn’t ask if a manager would tell me the same thing. I asked to speak to the manager who gave the directive. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, MGA has the most untrained customers service staff out of any company I’ve ever done business with. They are uninformed, untrained, cannot completely answer any question and are always unprofessional on the phone. I always get the feeling I’m speaking to a 16 year old who doesn’t really want to be at work. My review my not matter but my daughter will no longer receive gymnastics lessons from MGA. When a parent wants to know why their children’s coach is no longer employed by the company who originally felt he/she earned the position, (who children become accustomed to learning from) you should tell customer the answer and provide the customer with the coach’s contact information just like every other gym in America does. Great way to lose my business and any other children associated with mine.

My daughter was enrolled in classes here and absolutely loved it. She developed a love for gymnastics and greatly desired a gymnastics-themed birthday party. I submitted my deposit online and waited for someone to call (as stated on the website). When more than a week went by without hearing from MGA, I decided to call myself. I called no fewer than 4-5 times (over a period of 3-4 days) before I was able to get in contact with someone, even after leaving numerous voicemail messages. I finally got in contact with someone who answered a few questions that I had and was told that I would receive a call back to let me know if the desired party time was available. A few days later, I still had not received a call back and (again) decided to call in myself a few days later. I finally got in contact with someone (after 2-3 phone calls and 2 more days) and was told that our desired time was indeed available. The next day, I finally received what I'm assuming was the confirmation call that I was supposed to receive upon submitting a deposit. As we got closer to the day of the party, I called several more times to get specifics on the party logistics. A few more days went by and I finally got in contact with someone the day before the party and after a brief convo, was told that someone would call me back. I never received a call back. Overall, my main issue was the lack of organization and communication. My daughter enjoyed her party, the party instructors were great, and all of the kids had a great time. However, the subpar communication I received was very frustrating and stressful. Had we not already paid for and distributed custom invitations, we would have gone with a different gymnastics company instead.

Excellent and very supportive people and the children have so much fun there jumping in the foam pit, swinging on the bars, and jumping on the trampoline. My boys come home tired and sleep good.

Had to call several times just to get someone on the phone. When I finally got ahold of someone I was able to get an evaluation scheduled. I will say i was impressed with the facility. They had some cheer teams there practicing and all I could see was kids falling, coaches yelling at them, one kid even started crying. Still on the hunt for a good place for gymnastics.

Great reviews and I was looking for a facility for my 4 year old. I called and scheduled an "evaluation" and when I arrived there was nothing scheduled in their system. They accommodated my daughter and evaluated her anyways. We signed her up and was told the first class was that same night at 6:30pm, only to find out it actually began at 6:15pm and she missed 15 minutes of her first class. We were told she had to purchase a $40 uniform and that it was mandatory. We purchased only to find out there was a power surge and the order was never submitted so we have to wait an additional week or two. We are only on week 2 and seems a bit unorganized. Hoping things improve and she enjoys the class!
