Started here in February. The initial assessment was a great tool and showed me a snapshot of where I was physically. The coaches are knowledgeable and attentive. I love this community. The support from the coaches and other members really do make a difference on one’s health and fitness journey. I really appreciate coach Jonathan’s push on every session. Bad experience.
I'm a CrossFit coach. I'm visiting the city and it was close to my hotel. OK I decided to go to the place the owner didn't know Spanish, a user gave me the information I asked the favor to the owner that if they let me train paying for the space they said NO. According to all the hours they were busy but the Box was really alone and there was a lot of space left over so I don't recommend it.

At Northjax you will find kickboxing, self defense in what they call JYD. It is a class that helps you learn ways to defend yourself. It is also a great workout. You never know when you might need skills like these, and learning them in a safe environment first is the way to go. Come see what it is all about, coaches are fantastic and very patient no matter what level you may be.

I joined North Jax Crossfit to prepare for my first Spartan race. The facility is clean and well outfitted, staff and other athletes are friendly. I've been training one on one with Coach Billy - and he got me climbing a rope (for the first time in my life..at age 62!) in 5 weeks! Joining North Jax was my first CrossFit experience and it has been a good one. Highly recommend.

I trained at this CrossFit location for a little over 2 years and coached here as well. During my time at the gym, I watched the programming go from decent to fair (per current members the program is now poor quality and not variable). The gym followed level method programming for a while then switched to internal programming. The programming changed as the owner and head coach felt the program did not suit the existing member fitness levels (90% of which are scaled). When I trained here, I would only trust the opinion of the head coach or owner to que/coach me. The other staff are not as knowledgeable and don’t have as much experience/don’t know how to properly coach. If you are looking for a competitive CrossFit gym, then I do not recommend this location. If you are looking for a bjj/martial arts gym, I do recommend this location and working with coach Melissa or tye. I’m sure my review will be removed but needed to provide an honest opinion.

After being introduced to CrossFit in 2023, I began to enjoy the grind that the sport/workouts include. Joining North Jax CrossFit a few months ago, the coaches here have really paid attention to details, allowing me to improve daily on my weaknesses. The environment from the coaches to the athletes is amazing, allowing me to push towards short and long term goals. At this time I am only involved in the CrossFit workout but I find it amazing that they offer combative programs and also a strength programs.

Very best Fit Fam ever! Having shoulder surgery 5 months ago, I was afraid I would lose all my hard work. But thanks to Coach Jean and Coach Tye, I was back at it 3 weeks later doing modified movements. This not only helped my physical health, but also my mental health as well. With a realistic perspective of what my "new" training looks like- they make sure that my movements are appropriate for my recovery, which I appreciate so much. Slow and steady wins the race! I began the JYD self-defense program at North Jax Fitness four years ago. The program uses mixed martial arts (MMA), like Kickboxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) just to name a few, in order to give you the best chance of defending yourself if the need ever arises while teaching strategies to help you avoid dangerous situations in the first place. There is a belt system in place for the members to advance as they learn techniques, drills, combos, and grab escapes that are invaluable to self-defense. All of this is done in a welcoming, safe environment. The trainers are knowledgeable and always ready to help the members with whatever they need in order to be successful. The members are friendly and supportive. After seeing how much the JYD program has helped me in countless ways, my husband and daughter have joined as well. Not only have I learned important skills for self protection, I have developed a confidence in myself that is priceless. Do yourself a favor and check them out! I am forever grateful that I did all those years ago.

This gym is the best! I started MMA Self Defense a few months ago. I was excited and timid at first not knowing what I was going to be doing. Since I started, I cannot get enough of it! The people are amazing! Some have been there for years and others are newer like me. However, that does not seem to matter. With a mix of ages and belt ranks, everyone is there to support and grow. The coaches are very knowledgeable and only want to share their passion of the sport with you. Classes are for both men and women from young adult to retirees! Classes are skill and combo oriented in defensive and attack moves from a martial arts mix of kickboxing and Jiu-Jitsu. It is not just following an instructor at the front of the room. As many of us, I have my own health challenges as well as others in the class. That is more reason to do it! It is a safe and controlled environment. I have gotten stronger, more flexible, and it has helped my memory and cognitive health as well! I love this program so much because it has given me a safe place to learn something new, challenge myself, and commit to my overall wellness. I highly recommend the MMA Self Defense Class at North Jax CrossFit.

So glad I found this gym when I did! Went through a few gyms since moving to Jacksonville and they just didn’t work out for me. I came across this gym shortly after I moved to the North side of Jax and BOY has it been a great experience! I tried the traditional gym setting and hot yoga but couldn't get into it. After a thorough google search I came across this gym and read the reviews and it seemed like a good spot. The reviews were 100% accurate; they make you feel welcomed and it isn't intimidating like you imagine when you hear "crossfit". The coaches truly work WITH you at YOUR level and are so encouraging. I would also like to note that after working out here for a couple of months my stamina has improved significantly. It's not just lifting weights and building muscle. If you work in healthcare I strongly suggest you giving this place a try. I can now do a full 2 minutes of compressions without needing to be coded myself lol.

I was in a search for a gym or fitness program that would give me the proper motivation and knowledge of what to do. I’m someone that struggles with going to the gym by myself and figuring out what to do each day and doing it at a high enough intensity to make a difference. I stumbled across North Jax CrossFit and saw all the positive reviews. Seemed too good to be true but I set up an initial appointment with Billy and he made me feel welcomed right away and explained how everything worked. I signed up that day and haven’t looked back since. The coaches are amazing. From their explanations of the workouts and movements to the positive feedback and constructive criticism and the way they are able to motivate and push you beyond your limits is amazing. Group classes may sound intimidating but every single person at this gym is rooting for you to do your best. There’s no judgement. In the short 5 weeks I’ve been going here it’s made a tremendous difference in my mood, my sleep, my attitude and my life. If you’re looking into gyms or curious about CrossFit, definitely give North Jax a try!

This gym is everything I was looking for. I had never done CrossFit before but I came across this gym and got the courage to give it a try. After doing a short meet and greet with the owner I was sold. Everyone who works here is committed to each member reaching their individual potential and achieving their individual goals. But it doesn't stop at the staff. The culture that has been created amongst the members is contagious and encouraging. Everyone will root you on during your workout, truly encouraging you to push through. The macho-ness of the stereotypical CrossFit gym does not exist here. I love that every workout is broken down to each level and everyone has modifications to be able to complete the workout at their level. Coaches are always willing to answer questions about the workout and explain what's expected. They offer different membership plans including nutritional coaching, personal training, and group workouts. If you're looking to live a healthy lifestyle and want the accountability of others who are looking to do the same, put your fear to the side and come join us!

Go to Alta CrossFit where people will take care of you. I would never support this CrossFit affiliate. I came in for a drop in and was turned away at the door by the owner in the pouring rain in the most condescending manner. I was later turned away from standing inside where it was pouring outside by some kickboxing coach. They don’t take drop-ins which has to be one of the snobbiest things I’ve ever seen at any CrossFit affiliate. I will admit another coach came to try and help me, but why should I have to try three different coaches. By that point, it’s north a gym worth supporting. Drop-ins at CrossFit is what people love about CrossFit. People can travel all over the country or world to find a good community and CrossFit affiliate. Not at North Ajax CrossFit.

As a person on the heavier side walking into any gym especially a CrossFit gym can be extremely intimidating. That thought process kept me away from taking care of myself for a very long time. From the moment I sat down to chat with Billy I knew I was in the right place. My weight has never been a limitation in any class or to any coach EVER! I got my 9 month Anniversary from North Jax Fitness . I cannot believe it has been 9 months since I started this journey and have STUCK WITH IT!!! In the past I have always given up or gotten injured, but this gym is different in so many ways! The coach's are phenomenal, and the members are so inspiring and motivating- It is definitely a #fitfam 😊 I am not where I want to be, but I have come so far in 9 months that I have to step back and be proud of myself.
I couldn’t do a traditional push up – now I can.
I couldn’t deadlift more then 100 #’s and now I can lift 175#’s.
I couldn’t sit in a squat at all – and now I can hold it for 30 seconds
I couldn’t do a pull up – and now I can get my chin over the bar –
Those of just some of the things that I notice -- So much progress in 9 months puts a smile on face
It was not always easy and there have been many days I did not want to get up and get dressed, but I choose me this year and surprising I have continued to choose me. I have many reason why I could stop, but I have learned that I need to stop making those excuses-

A year ago I wasn’t sure I wanted to do CrossFit, but I knew I needed to do something. I initially signed up for personal training only. The coach is fantastic and really helped me make great progress. I’m doing a combination of classes and personal training now and can’t say enough good things about this gym and, more importantly, about the people. It’s an incredibly supportive environment where there’s a spirit of friendly competition but everyone celebrates individual progress and successes. I felt welcomed from day one. I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

I have been a member for a little over 6 years. This is bar far the best gym I have been a member of. The members are so friendly and supportive. The coaches are top notch, because of them I have achieved many of my goals. There's so much I can say about this amazing gym. Started at Northjax Crossfit a little over a year ago with the intention of getting stronger to be able to care for my son but NJCF has given me so much more such as confidence and positive state of mind just to name a few. LOVED the fact that I wasn't thrown into a group class without knowing what I was doing. The first 6 weeks I was set with coach Tye 1on1 to teach me proper movements and to learn where I was on the level method so if is your first time don't be afraid. I've never been part of a gym this long you will find yourself looking forward to come to come to class and and giving it a good sweat at your level at your pace. I just celebrated 6 months with NJCF! I came because I was interested in Crossfit, but ended up choosing a hybrid plan focused in Powerlifting with some CrossFit on the side. I couldn't be more proud of myself for sticking to it, but honestly the Fit Fam vibe and exquisite coaches make it so easy to stay consistent and look forward to classes, lift the heavy things, and be my silly self.
I love how everything like scheduling, reservations, the workouts, and even the ability to track your progress and cheer on other people is easily handled within an app and you can plan your schedule a week in advance. You spend time during the On Ramp process learning how to properly do the moves and assessing your current fitness level so when you're released into the group classes, you're comfortable and confident in working out at your own level.
What makes NJCF unique? It's the only place I've ever been where you'll find everyone cheering for the last person to finish instead of the first!

Personally for me, I love this place so far. The level of knowledge and technique available with the staff is amazing. It’s very challenging which is GOOD. If you don’t want change, this is not the place for you. But If you want to see a change, THIS IS THE PLACE!

Hands down, one of the best decisions I’ve made was joining this gym. Everyone is so kind, welcoming, and encouraging. The coaches are knowledgeable and supportive. I’ve been intimidated by CrossFit for a long time. It’s awkward doing something new and I am a shy person. But, from day one, people are willing to help out: helping you choose equipment, showing you where to stand, cheering you on. I also really loved the on ramp process. It helps to introduce you to the gym and the main movements so you’re not just thrown into a group class unsure of what’s happening. I wish I had joined sooner!

I have been going here for 6 months and have loved every second of it. I have had multiple gym memberships but nothing pales in comparison to this gym and the coaches. I was scared of CrossFit at first but all the members and coaches are very welcoming and friendly. I have meet some great people along the way. At a regular gym you don't get any guidance on what you want to do personally. At North Jax CrossFit they tailor everything to your needs.I have never been around such great coaches that actually care about what you want and how to meet your needs. They also care about how your technique and how you recover. They have great plan options, great pricing, and a diet program to help with your journey. I don't have any plans to stop going and I can't go to any other gym.

I have only been for a few classes but I couldn't be more pleased with my choice of gyms. The color level system is easy and takes a lot of the guesswork out of workouts. The coaches and owner are all very profession and straight forward. Very refreshing as some gyms are too friendly and won't talk business when need be. I also like the check ins with the staff after your first month I think. Very much enjoying my experience here at North Jax Crossfit.

North Jax not only provides a relatable family of miscreants and oddballs, but also presents opportunities for personal growth. Never has a gym and its inhabitants encouraged me more to develop lifestyle changes; there is always a new goal I need to work to achieve and, therefore, I never feel stagnant in my fitness journey. I can’t imagine dropping my membership like the many other three month gym and diet fads I’ve cycled through. I’m not perfect, but that’s okay because I’m getting stronger and more skilled thanks to NJCF!

I loved it here. I went to North Jax CrossFit for three months while I lived in Jacksonville. It is an awesome community gym with great owners, coaches, and members. Everyone is very welcoming and supportive during works. This type of environment pushes people to work beyond what they think they are capable are of.
I also love that they use Level Method. Every workout is already tailored to your level and you have hard goals to work towards to each and every step of the way. Celebrating everyone's achievements makes this gym that much better. I will definitely be coming back if I'm in town.

I love everything about North Jax CrossFit. I have been going to this gym for a little over 6 months and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to move away from the regular gyms and into a gym that might seem intimidating but is 100% welcoming to all levels.
They use the Level Method system which means once you’ve completed your on-ramp assessments you will be assigned your level method color and that it’s your workout with each group class till you start leveling up. It’s fantastic because everyone does THEIR version of the workout based on their personal level. No one is having to work at a pace that isn’t their own or feeling lost cause they don’t understand the movements.
Each coach works well with everyone from the beginner to the elite and it’s truly the most welcoming gym.

They use the Level Method here, which is a really great way to ensure that athletes of all levels are optimally challenged. All the coaches are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I've been to several CrossFit gyms over the past 4 years, and this one is my favorite. They have more to offer than the typical CrossFit gym, as there are options for kickboxing and strength classes as well. They also do clinics that focus on specific skills over the course of several weeks and host events. The community is really great!

If you are in search for a gym that is not your normal run of the mill then I highly suggest Billy at NorthJax Crossfit. It is also a health conditioning gym, not just physical lifting. Take a look as they have many programs that may suit your needs. Located near the airport off Duval road, it is definitely worth the drive. And he also sets up classes to individual schedules and does one to one instruction. Give Billy a call.

Love this place! Have been going for about 6months (though I have been away for a few months). Staff is welcoming and very nice and accommodating. Workouts are fun and bring out an intense sweat! Always leave here feeling like I got an amazing workout. Would recommend one on one (either there or elsewhere) to focus on form for things, as these are group classes. I do feel like they try to help individuals even in a group setting - but if you’re seriously looking for personal tips might need some one on one. Otherwise I like how they do try to add personal interactions with movements for each person. I also enjoy the level method, helps take some guessing out of my workouts. Overall love this place.

My husband and I have been coming here since January. No it wasn't the old New Years resolution. It was just the time for us to buckle down and do something for our health. I really didn't think CrossFit was the place for us but we thought we would give it a shot. As soon as we walked in the building we felt like we belonged there. Here we are 8 months later feeling better than ever and still setting goals. It doesn't matter if you've never worked out a day in your life or if you're in the best shape of your life. It doesn't matter how young or old you are either! This place has something for you. The coaches are amazing. They make sure they teach you how to move with good form to prevent injury. The people you workout with are family and so encouraging! There's never any judgement here, only an uplifting group of people that want to see everyone succeed in reaching their goals. I love the group classes because it still feels like your getting a little personal training as well. They also do offer personal training to help with specific skills. The kickboxing classes are really good because it's more than just a workout. It teaches self defense as well and increases confidence! I could go on and on but if you want to see exactly what I'm talking about then just come and give it a try. You won't be mad at all about it!

Short version: Don't be nervous, they'll teach you everything you need to know and they'll help build your confidence!
Full version: I was extremely nervous to start crossfit as I had never lifted weights before in my life. I was even more nervous because my fitness level was so low. I thought I was far too out of shape to participate. The instructors are extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable. They take the time to teach you how to lift properly to prevent injury and build strength and confidence. Every class is like having a personal trainer. They provide motivation and you walk out of class feeling great about yourself every time. As far as my lack of physical fitness is concerned, every exercise is altered so that I get a great workout and can exercise along side extremely fit athletes or novices alike. Come in just to talk to the trainers, you won't be sorry.

I joined a month ago after being furloughed from a large acrobatic entertainment company. I had been out of my fitness routine for months and was feeling sluggish and lost after putting on 15lbs over the quarantine. I was self conscious about my image (even my stretchy pants weren’t fitting!!) and honestly a bit scared to get back to a gym after being out for so long.
I had tried Crossfit a few times in the past and been to boxes all over the world. This one, by far, is the most open, friendly, and accessible one I have been to. It’s tucked away a bit, but the coaches are amazing, the other members are always encouraging and the price is incredible for what you get and much more affordable than other similar gyms. Plus, there’s no judgement here! Everyone knows we are at different places and are challenged by different things, but we are a team.
Even though I’m used to constantly being on the move and traveling around the globe, I’m actually really excited to be sticking around for a while and having a new foundation for my fitness goals. I know it takes hard work and consistency on my part, but they have built an amazing place to train for whatever your individual needs are.
I’m sad I didn’t know about this place sooner. I could have been a Titan by now!!

Me and my Wife Dara have been going to Northjax for almost a year now, and we love the environment and the people as well. Billy,Sabrina,Britni, and Marko are amazing and all have different teaching methods, but they all want the same results. From day one we both felt like a family more than a gym. I have been going to North Jax since June and have loved every minute of it. The coaches are very knowledgeable and genuinely care about your progression and success. They will push you to your limits, and make sure you are reaching your goals in a safe manner, no matter what your goals may be.
I ran my fastest 1.5 mile last week during a Physical Fitness Test, even faster than when I was swimming competitively in college. This is just one of the many ways the programming, coaches, and members at North Jax Cross Fit have had a positive impact on my life.

I could write an essay on how awesome this gym is but I’ll try to keep it as short as possible. Thanks to North Jax and their team I am much more flexible, have much higher endurance, can lift more with better form and accomplish movements and goals that I never thought possible and all with an arthritic autoimmune disease!
Coaching - It feels like having a personal trainer in a group setting. They motivate you to go way beyond what you think possible but are also adamant about safety and progressing at a level that mitigates potential for injury. They give cues that really tune up all movements from running to snatching and everything in between. They genuinely want to see every person improve and grow and meet you at whatever level or stage of fitness you are in. From small nuances like “Lat” flexibility and engagement in front rack and overhead positions, hip and ankle flexibility and glute engagement in a squat, and full body coordination in all movements, they provide you with a wealth of priceless knowledge.
Atmosphere - Like a family that encourages you to be your best at whatever level you’re at. The members range from beginners to advanced but you never feel out of place, the classes allow a first timer and an expert to hit it side by side and get an amazing workout.
Facility - Everything you need and want to be at your fittest level possible. Plenty of room, plenty of equipment for large groups, mobility equipment, and miscellaneous equipment for tons of variable exercises.
