THE BLUEPRINT
There’s an evolutionary blueprint to how all organisms work and Functional Patterns has been cracking the code in human movement for nearly 15 years. Resulting from tens
of thousands of hours in testing, we have pioneered the FP methodology, syncing the physics of our natural environment to our health better than any other system out there.
Our conclusion has been to train humans according to their biological movement characteristics: Standing, Walking, Running, and Throwing — The “FP Big 4”. By optimizing these four human functions, achieving better health is not a gamble, but an inevitability. This is what it means to train Functional Patterns!

NorthFla Biomechanics’ skilled Trainers have offered a space for healing, grounding, and growth. My individual training with Ryan Connolly has laid the groundwork for stabilization, corrective fluid form, and strengthening that has healed long standing injuries from an active life well lived. His patience, skill, and integrative approach creatively bring together natural movement and expertise. From this longer term investment, the groups have more recently offered the space and time to implement what I’ve learned into continued healing in active movement and strengthening. Jackie’s vision for her space has brought together a strong team of independent practitioners, each offering their unique approach and warm hearts, all in the Functional Patterns modality. The studio space is open, clean and welcoming. The individual sessions on point and encouraging; the groups fluid, fun and packed with all the things needed to feel your body and mind working together.

I don’t think I could sing enough praises about Ryan Connolly and the group of Practitioners are NorthFla Biomechanics… But I will try!
I began seeing Ryan for 1 on 1 sessions in June of 2024, riddled with chronic pain, I was sick of feeling like a 70 yr old in a 35 year olds body. From the very first meeting he emanated compassion and understanding w/ where I was at in my pain. At the end of that session and only 1 exercise in, I FELT a difference in my body that was undeniable. I left feeling hopeful that this was the solution I have been praying for. While it was not immediate, Ryan was there encouraging me, pushing me, showing empathy patience and genuine kindness throughout, in the good weeks and the bad. The knowledge and love he has for his job, his clients, and FP is infectious. A 55 minutes session with him seems to fly by with challenges physically and mentally but also with COPIOUS amounts of JOY and LAUGHTER.
When the new studio opened and I was able to begin taking classes w/ Jackie and Charlotte along side other FP clients, I shortly realized… this is a unique way of being and moving. They have done a beautiful job at creating an open, inviting, joyful, and truly kind environment to heal in! I have never left a session NOT smiling! It is an effect that will keep me coming back for so much more!
Whether you do Privates or Group Classes, I promise, you will not be disappointed. Pain free living while working out can be attainable, as well as thoroughly enjoying a workout! I am beyond grateful and feel blessed to have found this group of amazing people!

These trainers are AWESOME. Functional patterns is one of the best ways to train and optimize your movement, and these trainers are incredible at helping you sharpen your skills. I have worked with Jackie in the past and she is so friendly, kind, and detail-oriented. North Florida Biomechanics offers a level of training that is hard to find somewhere else. Highly recommend. 🥰

I have been doing private sessions with Ryan Connelly. It is hard to describe how much it has helped me in every aspect of my life. After a surgical injury in 2019 I was left feeling disconnected from my physical body. The Functional Patterns training program combined with the patience and detail oriented cueing from Ryan have me feeling like I am "home" again. I have also started doing a group class with Jackie. Her articulate instructions and close eye to everyone in the class is beyond impressive. The atmosphere is supportive and welcoming. I feel uplifted and stronger every time I walk out the door. Highly recommend!!
