The YMCA is very warm and inviting. It’s very diverse and welcoming. I find it to be consistently positive and the instructors are wonderful. I love that you are interacting with all ages. There are many opportunities to work out in different ways if you just try them out.

Our family truly loves the Y! My daughter attends the preschool and participates in several sports activities, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The teachers and coaches are caring and supportive, and the environment feels like a warm, welcoming community. We’re so grateful to be part of such an incredible place that helps our children learn and stay active. Highly recommend!

This place is a total disappointment. I bring my 3-year-old daughter here for swimming lessons, and every time I have to wash her with ice-cold water because almost all the showers are broken. Only two of them barely work, and even those only have freezing water and are difficult to turn on and off. It’s completely unacceptable, especially for a place that serves small children. How can you run a swim facility like this? The showers need to be fixed immediately.

I highly recommend! Absolutely love the Boca YMCA! The staff is super sweet; polite; helpful; friendly. There's a large variety of all levels of exercise classes plus aqua classes. Gym is great - new equipment; pretty clean for a gym. The Y also offers a ton of offerings/classes/camp; etc. for kids; teens; and seniors. Love the djembe drumming classes too!

We absolutely love John, the new manager and trainer of the fitness program. He is truly dedicated to helping our 12-year-old…
not only by teaching the proper use of gym equipment, but also by encouraging him to believe in himself and build lasting confidence.
We could not be more grateful.

The YMCA is such a great community spot for the whole family! They have awesome activities for kids, teens, and adults. The summer camps are amazing, and there are so many fun classes for adults to stay active—all included with the membership. The staff is super kind, caring, and creative, always coming up with new programs and activities both indoors and outdoors. I’ve been a member since 2018, and I absolutely love YMCA Boca Raton!

I was very impressed with the YMCA building and what I saw inside upon entering. Everything resonated with me — plenty of vending machines, a ping-pong table, and overall a very welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly and responsive. We were warmly welcomed, everything was explained to us, paperwork was done quickly, and I honestly felt a bit euphoric about the quality of service.
We signed our child up for soccer, naturally expecting a similar level of quality on the field itself. Before registration, a staff member offered us a tour, but I declined — seeing such an impressive building, I assumed the soccer field would match the standard. We have significant experience with YMCA in other cities and thought we knew what to expect.
However, we were shocked when we arrived for the first practice. Calling it a soccer field is generous — it’s just a lawn, and not even a well-maintained one. In some places there’s no grass at all, just sandy patches. The goals are moved around, there’s no special surface, no lighting — it’s simply not a soccer field. The price we paid here is much higher than what we paid before for access to far better fields — in our previous city we had what I would call professional-level fields (for YMCA standards), with many teams and competitive games.
Here, there are only two teams total, so there’s no real competition — you already know your team will either get first or second place. It was honestly disappointing, especially given the cost. I even considered requesting a refund, but my child really wants to play and we don’t have time to look for alternatives right now.
However, I can say with certainty that we won’t be enrolling here for the next season. The expected level of youth soccer at this YMCA simply hasn’t been met or justified.

Absolutely the best summer camp experience we’ve had! The camp was extremely well-organized, and the communication between the entire team was consistently on point. I would 100% recommend sending your little ones here.
Sandra Jean Baptiste and her team have been A1 from start to finish. They took the time to understand any medical conditions or allergies our child had, ensuring they were always safe and cared for. The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive, keeping parents fully informed about everything—from minor injuries to upcoming field trips.
It’s truly reassuring to know your child is in such capable and caring hands. Highly recommend!

Not a great place for a teenager's first job for many reasons, most importantly safety and security. It is lacking both inside and outside the facility. They let anyone in to "check out the facility" and my daughter was cornered in the gym at night in a very inappropriate manner by a "guest", at an hour when there was no reponsible adult onsite to provide support. There are also people loitering outside the bulding early moring and at night, including young children who come up knocking on car windows.

First off, the facility is getting quite old and with the money they make in membership fees, should have been remodeled years ago. The main reason for my rating is due to being ripped off by their teen camp. My daughter attended a half day of their camp and did not like it. I asked the counselor if I could remove her from the camp and be refunded as I prepaid for the summer. He said it wouldn’t be a problem and they could not refund the $75 registration fee. That seemed reasonable… when I received the refund, it was $300 short of what we discussed. After a month of trying to get an answer, James explained that they charged me $75 per week for every single week that I paid for. This is unacceptable. They were never at capacity for the teen camp. This is a blatant money grab. As a paying member, I hoped they would make this right and I wouldn’t have to write this review. They have refused to do the right thing. They lost my business and I hope others take their “business “ practices into consideration before giving your hard earned money to people like this.

Sometime around 2008 I was a child who attended their summer camp. There I was bullied, not by the other kids. I was bullied by several camp counselors. I was probably 9 years old back then. I'm 28 now and I still remember. I'm writing this review to inform potential parents to beware of the kinds of people watching over your kids during summer camp.

I need to let you know how great your organization is! I am part of a great group called Leadership Boca, where a group of about 40 of us through the Boca Chamber of Commerce go around every other week and learn about Boca and Palm Beach County.
This past Wednesday we had our non-profit day and we had the opportunity to come here.
My family and i have been part of the YMCA for about 11 or 12 years and it has made a huge impact on me and them. Both of my kids learned to swim there, they both went to camp and aftercare there. My younger son plays sports there, i play sports there and coach basketball. My older son now actually has been hired to work there and is absolutely loving it. Thank you.
What you do is such an important part of our community and it is so important for everyone to know that this is not just a gym and swim, this is a family and community place that everyone needs to know more about.

The YMCA has been a big part of my life for many years, ever since my kids were little. It’s more than just a gym, it’s a community where we’ve built amazing memories, stayed active, and met wonderful people. I work out there regularly, and they offer a huge variety of classes in their spacious facility. Now, my son plays basketball at the Y, and we’re having the best time ever watching him grow and compete. If you’re looking for a welcoming place to stay fit, have fun, and connect with others, I highly recommend the YMCA

A week ago, I took my 10-year-old son, who has special conditions, to this place upon his request for basketball. My request was only to register after the basketball coach evaluated my son. The person I spoke to gave the coach's business card and we tried to reach him and left voice messages. We never got a response and they did not even care. Since we could not reach the coach, we called the YMCA again. The same answer, they will get back to you. They also discouraged my autistic son. They did not even look at us. Their only job is to register.

Dear YMCA Team,
I wanted to express my disappointment regarding the steam and sauna room closure during my recent visit. It was turned off 15 minutes before closing time, which feels unfair to those of us who pay for our memberships and look forward to using all the facilities.
When I brought this up to one of the staff members, it seemed that they were eager to leave at closing time as well. I believe it’s important for members to receive the full benefit of their membership until the official closing hour.
Thank you for considering this feedback. I appreciate the hard work your team does and hope to see improvements in the future.
Additionally, I would like to point out that I’ve been unable to dry my swim shorts after using the pool, as the dry spinner has been broken for over two months. This is quite inconvenient and affects the overall experience. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Would give zero stars if I could. Particularly for the afterschool program for the young children. I have two little family members that go there and it's telling that about 90% of the parents who have their children enrolled there would move them someplace else if they could afford it. Most of the families there are stuck.
There are verified reports of kids being around marijuana, favoritism among the upper staff and gossip and toxicity that runs rampant among the directors that the kids pick up on. Licensing has been called over 10 times in the past 2 months, the director(s) of the program often have to "hide kids" or place some outside to meet the actual requirements set forth by the county and state, counselors and directors yell at the children... for being children. The counselors that my cousins and others resonate with have actually been fired for minuscule reasons while the ones who treat the kids like dogs have been allowed to remain. There are multiple instances where my friend's kids have come home crying or depressed because of the atmosphere and the way they're treated by the counselors here. It's sad that a "Christian" organization that's supposed to be building these kids up instead tears them down.
The only thing I will say is that there are a number of us who have conferred and come to the same conclusion, something must be done-- and it will be within the next couple of months. The only thing we regret is how long it took for us to share our collective experiences... While our hope will be that the program is not shut down and instead restructured and reorganized, if that's what it takes, then so be it. What has been happening has gone on for too long and there needs to be accountability.

I would like to express my disappointment with the management of the children’s sports program, specifically with Jacob Griem.
Unfortunately, my experience has been marked by disorganization, lack of communication, and an apparent disregard for the concerns of parents and the needs of the children in his care.
For several weeks after the season started I attempted to communicate with Jacob Griem regarding a scheduling conflict he created by placing my children in two sports with overlapping game times. Despite my repeated emails and multiple visits to the office, my inquiries were ignored and he delegated the issue to a colleague, whose solution was simply to ask which sport my children would “prefer” to attend—this, after I had already paid for both programs, expecting they would participate fully in each.
Additionally, I have found Jacob Griem’s professionalism to be lacking in other areas. On multiple occasions, he has seemed disengaged when parents approached him with questions or concerns, often displaying more interest in socializing with single moms than in addressing program matters. Regrettably, he has frequently appeared less than fully alert and even carries the scent of marijuana, which gives the impression of inattentiveness and a lack of commitment to the program’s integrity.
Furthermore, recently, my child was roughly treated by another player, which went unnoticed by the coach. When my husband—understandably upset, though admittedly not gentle in his approach—addressed the coach about his lack of attention, the coach allowed his emotions to interfere and abandoned his responsibilities, leaving the team. It’s troubling that the administration not only permitted this but has now decided to prevent my children from continuing to play at the facility due to this incident.
I hope the administration can ensure that coaches are attentive and dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment for all children and I truly hope that management will consider reviewing these issues and taking steps to ensure that the program is run with the professionalism, responsiveness, and respect our children deserve.

Update - This place sucks. Filthy equipment, leaking windows, missing parts… what a joke…
Friendly staff and tons of amenities to offer which is really great considering the monthly dues. Alternatively, the facilities could use some SERIOUS love. Older equipment that has been poorly maintained (noisy, loose bolts, etc.) and the roof leaks are probably the biggest drawbacks for me. I understand there are plans to patch the roof(?) but at one point it looked like a comedy skit with the amount of buckets laid out and missing or moldy ceiling tiles.
Nothing against the staff, I think they are making due with what’s available. Definitely looking forward to any facility improvements, I feel like some issues could become safety hazards.

I love this place. We've been members for several years and in addition to a great child watch program in the mornings and late afternoon, they also have camps & fun days & kids classes for sports and pretty much everything parents need. Granted, not all the sports classes are amazing, but at least you got an option to try them out. They trained my son to use the machines when he was eight so we can workout together safely. The people are always helpful and friendly and they try to solve problems as soon as they come up.

The programs/ classes/ events show the staff has a strong sense of concern for each age group, especially the elderly& disabled. By the time I heard from anyone everything was full and only waitlisted. I came in today to see if I could speak with the director of the program and to see if my son was added to the waitlist and the front desk lady was rude and not helpful. For someone who just moved across the state and be treated with such low quality service from YMCA is beyond me, maybe because I’m black. Thank for all you help YMCA! Visited this location, today. Body pump class packed; absolutely no elbow room. We were def on top of each other. Someone had a heavy weight dropped on them, in the overly crowded, very small weight room; Vicious argument erupted. Reminded me of a feeding frenzy of piranha, sadly. People in general were highly dissatisfied. Hope and pray this YMCA addresses the need for more body pump classes before someone becomes seriously injured; this time of day (9:00), rather than offering only Tues. and Thurs. Along with larger room so that everyone is kept cool, happy and comfortable. I am a federal contractor/scientist that has lived in most states of the union. Sorry, guys; yours is one of the worst. The instructor was amazing! Thanks for listening. Doubt I will be returning.

25 year member of the YMCA. The inability for members to use the basketball court to play basketball is astonishing . Whether it’s fitness classes, camps, or pickleball 4 days a week, the basketball court is never open during any reasonable times for the general member. The workout area is impossibly small given the number of training classes using the same space and the removed the outdoor workout area in favor of lawn furniture for people to sit on their phones next to the indoor pool. Really sad decline

During my daughter's first swim class, she was dropped completely underwater without support by a young and inexperienced teacher.
Since that first evening (which started as a fun and exciting new experience, but immediately changed after she was dropped), it became very uncomfortable to force my daughter to take these classes. I saw an attempt to help her by the Aquatics Director, but this whole experience did the opposite of acclimating my daughter to the water.
I wanted to share my experience with the program. I truly feel that if her first class had gone well, and she had had a more experienced teacher, we would have enjoyed our time at the Y. I also believe that she could have made some progress in her swimming abilities. Instead, she now no longer even wants to learn to swim with me in our pool at home.
I shared my feelings to the Aquatics Director by email, and I never received a reply.

My daughter went here about 13 years ago and it was a wonderful experience. I moved my 18 months old son here about 3 months ago and withdrew him within 3 weeks of starting, He went from a very sociable happy baby to a withdrawn child and that began to bite and become veery aggressive. I first suspected physical abuse or emotional neglect but during the last week there, at the end of each day my son would appear dazed and not immediately recognizing me when I picked him up. Over the last 2 months after mulling over the details of this experience we began to suspect they may have been drugging him . It took over 2 months of home care and much coddling and he is now almost back to himself. Education can only be accomplished in an environment that is firstly nurturing and safe. This was not an educational safe place for my child. Something happened to my son while there. Each day that passes we are becoming more certain that our last suspicion is most certainly the case.

The ymca has been great for my family- the family membership is a great price, and they have many options for gym classes, a state of the art gym and egym, and free childcare while you work out! The daycare is very affordable and my niece loves it and I can’t wait until my daughter starts there next year. The staff is super friendly and helpful and there are so many great community activities!

YMCA is the absolute best. The gym, the pool, our kids did preschool and VPK and after care there. They have camps during school breaks, we do all our swim lessons, soccer basketball karate swim team there. The community events like movie nights and halloween are off the charts. Best thing we do in boca, and it's not close. My wife has told me she'd rather have the Y than me and I don't disagree.

A great resource for younger families. Every staff member I have encountered has been pleasant and helpful. The childcare while you are working out is so convenient, and my kids actually like going. Knowing they’re enjoying themselves makes it easier for me to relax and enjoy my time in the gym. The EGYM makes working out easy, and the facilities are always clean and well stocked. There are plenty of classes and extras offered for the whole family, so it’s really easy to find something active for every member of the family to participate in. The covered pool area is also a big plus. Overall a great value.

Couple weeks ago I was looking for a friendly, fun and more personalized wellness environment in Boca Raton and YMCA (Peter Blum Family) showed up in my search. I went there saw happy members and polite staff with great customers service skills.
Next step was to have a personal trainer who would make sure I was learning and executing the right way my workout and Stephanie Sanon came along, she is the perfect combination of a professional plus a friend who really wants you reaching all your physical health and shape! She connects with you in such way that you might not need to give her any explanation about what workout would fulfill a specific need, she makes absolutely sense. I am so pleased with her professionalism that I offered this present review. Hope this helps to anyone looking for a safe, injury free workout routine, Stephanie Sanon delivers it for me, I absolutely recommend her!:)

Whenever I walked through the doors, the person at the front desk greeted me with a smile and made me feel right at home. It's such a small gesture, but it truly set the tone for the incredible experience I've had so far. To all the staff members and trainers, they are a remarkable team of individuals who have made this place feel like a second home for me. Their friendliness and willingness to help have been instrumental in easing my anxiety and concerns about joining a gym. Their knowledge and expertise have been invaluable in guiding me through workouts, teaching me the proper techniques, and helping me achieve my fitness goals. In the past, I always felt intimidated by gyms, unsure of how to use the equipment properly, and feeling out of place. However, that all changed when I came to this YMCA. Especially the support and encouragement from "Enrique," who has given me the confidence to try new things, push myself further, and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

My family and I are having a great time here at the ymca. We put our children in the daycare and are able to get a workout in or take a class. This was unheard of before for my wife and I to accomplish before joining. The facility is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. I grew up going to ymca and I’m glad my children will be able to do the same. My 4 year old daughter also takes a ballet class here as well. She enjoys it.

The Y has been a huge part of our life since we moved to Boca. Our little girl has been going to the Y daycare for about 4 years now and it’s been a blessing to us. The staff is loving and caring to our little girl and I am happy to have made many incredible friends through the Y.

My family and I have been members for over 22 years. Both my children learn how to swim in the facility and were part of the Barracudas swimming team. Both became lifeguards and my daughter worked for the YMCA for years as a lifeguard and children swimming instructor. She is a RN now specializing in intensive care pediatrics. I am still a member and after an automobile accident that nearly took my life, and lost my job, the YMCA has allowed me to pay half price for membership. I am very thankful.

From the moment I walked into the daycare to enroll my child 6 years ago, I knew it was a special place. The staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming, making me feel right at home. I now have a child graduating the Preschool program and another in the aftercare program and both are fantastic. Both have amazing staff directors from Ms. Patty at the daycare to Jenna and Kathy at the aftercare.
What impressed me the most, however, was the level of care and attention the staff provides to each child. It’s clear that they take their responsibilities very seriously, and that they genuinely care about the children in their care. They are always available to answer questions, address concerns, and provide updates on my children. We are truly blessed to have Ms. Karen & Ms. Xochi in the Turtles class who are not only preparing the children for kindergarten but also instilling in the kids love and compassion.
My children absolutely love going to this daycare, aftercare, camps And participate in all the extra activities the YMCA offers (ballet, gymnastics, basketball, swimming) and I could see why. My daughter especially loves the aqua camp with Ms. Leesa as she makes it a blast! The activities are engaging and age-appropriate, and my children feel included, valued and loved.
Overall, I cannot recommend this daycare highly enough. The staff are knowledgeable, caring, and dedicated, and the facilities are top-notch. If you are looking for a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for your children, this is definitely the place to be. Thank you so much to the staff for providing such an excellent experience for our family.

Lovely facility. As a nationwide member, I've been able to visit a lot of facilities in the state. I loved the cleanliness and the staff was very nice. They could use a bigger workout area, but they do have plenty of equipment. The sauna and steam room are a huge pluss, although the the steam room is currently down. The heated indoor pools are the cherry on top. Will be returning soon. 😄

no open swim at evening time, all laps are busy with swim team. They should keep at least one line open for regular people. The same issue with open gym, every evenings busy with games, we can’t play basketball anymore. Before they kept court half for games half for regular players but not anymore.. They have open gym day time only..we all members, we all paying, we all have rights to get the same services

I just signed up over the weekend during their event which waived the $99 registration fee so that was really nice! Katalina gave my daughter and I a tour of the facility and was very thorough with explaining all the programs they offer and benefits of becoming a member. She was very friendly, welcoming, and took her time in making sure all my questions were answered before helping me sign up. I’m excited and can’t wait to start going with my family.

They are good only collecting money. Kids room are limited only 1hr for your kid. So you have to stop your training in 60 min and jump to take your kid out. Old equipment. Overpriced since no more adequate kids room service- without it it just outdated “ $10 gym” for $100/month.

While we were really happy to find a place that offers special needs swimming lessons, and we are really happy with our instructor Miss Libby, we are really disappointed that the building doesn't have one automatic wheelchair door, they have signs for wheelchair accessible but you have to manually open the door and keep the door open yourself while trying to get the chair in.
