Consider yourself blessed to live in a town that has one of the best, most experienced and knowledgeable Pilates teachers in the world… VAL! When I first walked in her studio, I was as weak as a tiny kitten.
It was only through Val’s patience and encouragement that I made it to the second class. And then the third one and so on. For the next 3 years, I became stronger than I knew was possible. After I relocated, I tried
other Pilates studios but all have paled in comparison. Regarding prices: VAL’s classes are worth every penny and more. If you think it’s not in your budget, then fix your budget.

Val, Eudora, and all instructors are very well-trained, professional, and knowledgable. Workout sessions are challenging and targeted for specific needs. I am stronger now in my 60s than I was in my 50s thanks to Pilates.

I have been a client at Pilates by Val for 17 years. Never once in all that time have I ever heard anyone refer to Val's business or her business practices as "shady" or "horrible." She is one of the most honest, reliable, and knowledgable people I know. After suffering a herniated disc, I refused my neuro surgeon's insistence on surgery and relied totally on pilates. I am totally pain free. I owe that to Val, who is constantly training, researching, and designing workouts for her clients.
One anonymous review from a client who chose not to follow the conditions of a contract does not make a shady business. And shame on those friends who piled on without ever visiting the studio.

I have attended individual and group equipment classes at Pilates by Val for about two years. The studio is a welcoming and friendly place. Val, who is an excellent diagnostician, has taught me specific exercises that have helped address issues with joint pain and weakness and have greatly improved my overall strength, balance, and flexibility. All of Val's instructors are terrific to work with. I highly recommend Pilates by Val.

I was recommended by my pain management doctor to Pilaties by Val as part of my rehabilitation program from a severe back/pelvis injury. I've been seeing Val for about four years now and I can say she is greatly improving my quality of life and helping me immensely. Pilaties, I've found, has been much more helpful with pain management than my past 14 years of physical therapy experience across different states and using different therapists. I would highly recommend Pilaties by Val to anyone suffering from pain, sciatica, pelvic, hip, back, and tailbone pain! I think you’ll be surprised how life altering practicing pilaties with Val is!

Ignore the bad review on here. No one is ever pressured to pay with cash (I don’t, I pay with a credit card and pay the industry standard 3% processing fee) and if you read the paper work before you sign it, it’s a standard 24 hour cancellation policy. Trust me, work with Val and her experienced team and you’ll really experience some pain relief!

Val and her staff are professionals and devoted to each client’s specific needs. Pilates has actually been more effective in treating my back pain than Physical Therapy. It’s a fun and friendly studio, where you can expect a lot of hard work, sweat and laughter! I’ve never felt pressured or even encouraged to pay one way or another. It’s not unusual for businesses to require payment in advance or have a 24 hour cancellation policy, especially a small business. You can always expect a great workout at Pilates by Val, whether it’s a private session or a class. The results speak for themselves!

I started going to Pilates by Val 4 years ago after hip surgery. My PT thought it might be a good bridge between graduation from PT and getting back to regular activity. Val worked with me in a stepwise manner to increase the strength and flexibility of my hips as well as my body as a whole. I credit Val with the success of my rehabilitation and getting me back to normal after surgery. Val is dedicated to lifelong learning in the areas of Pilates/functional movement/exercise science. I keep coming back because the workouts are challenging, therapeutic, and educational. No two workouts are the same, and I am amazed by her endless creativity. If my hips are cranky and my body feels out of sorts, Val always has the right remedy of exercises to get me feeling right again. Because of her commitment to education, I believe the staff at Pilates by Val can offer an individualized approach to exercise that is not found at other facilities.

I’ve read some negative reviews of Pilates by Val and want to share my experience. I pay monthly by check to avoid the 3% charge incurred by using a credit card. My electrician, plumber, and others add similar charges if I use a credit card - often 4 or 5%. Several of the physicians I see charge a $25 to $50 fee if I cancel an appointment less than 24 hours in advance or am a no show. These business practices are getting more common and are clearly spelled out in Val’s agreement with her clients.
I, too, have had health issues, and Val agreed to “hold” my sessions until my return, which she did.
All that said, Pilates by Val is the absolute best thing I’ve ever done for my health! Val is so very good at what she does - she’s helped my breathing, strength, and balance, plus I remain pain free from degenerative spinal disc disease.
I suggest trying Pilates by Val yourself to see what Pilates can do for you!

Terrible customer service!! Another example of how awful customer service can be. First, they require you to pay in advance and encourage you to pay with cash by offering a small discount. This is so you’ll have absolutely NO recourse should something happen. I was extremely ill with a stomach flu and asked to reschedule my class. (Side note, the instructor had already asked ME to reschedule the class prior to this, which I did) Because it wasn’t 24 hours notice, they still charged me $50. I was a new client and you’d think under the circumstances they’d work with me this once but no. I was angry and disappointed at the way I was treated and did not want to return. I asked to be refunded for the other classes I had purchased and was told absolutely not. Sorry, no refunds. And of course because I paid most of it in cash I have no way to stop payment. This place is another example of how low the customer service in this country has sunk.

And now in response to my review, you say “you’re truly heartbroken”. What a joke lol. If you were truly heartbroken, then why don’t you do the right thing and refund my money? You offered me “a class on you”, that I had already paid for! This is ridiculous. You have no compassion for my situation and the fact that keeping $200 is more important to you than doing the right thing is appalling.

Val is amazing. She is so patient and knowledgable. I have been going to Pilates by Val for 4 years. I have worked with 4 different instructors privately including Val and can testify to the difference in how I feel everyday. I really feel it if I miss a session-i'm more stiff and uncomfortable. Since I've been going to Pilates by Val I feel more stable, flexible, and comfortable in my body than I have felt in my whole life.

After almost two years of attending weekly equipment classes, I am stronger than I have ever been (in my adult life). Before being introduced to Pilates By Val, I struggled to find a safe and effective method of gaining total body strength with a preexisting injury. Aside from my results, I trust them -- Eudora, Val and Jim are knowledgeable and attentive instructors. Concerns with my physical limits, due to injury, have always been addressed warmly and professionally. I cannot say enough about this studio and its' instructors. Top notch for sure!

I started going to Val when we moved to Gulf Breeze from Atlanta 4 -5 years ago. I was hooked right away and knew that I would forever include pilates into my schedule. I've had lower back pain for years (bulging disc), but with Val's help, I am more flexible and able to move. Val's knowledge of pilates and what someone needs is invaluable. I can't say enough good things about Val and all of the instructors there.

I love everything about this studio. I have been doing Pilates for about 2 years and have seen my body change drastically in strength, flexibility and balance. Sessions are tailored to your needs and are not 'cookie cutter' workouts. Instructors are very experienced and professional.

I take mat classes as well as private sessions with Teri. She is a wonderful instructor. She is very good at assessing areas where I need strength, then she tailors the workouts accordingly. I feel an increase in circulation and flexibility after a workout. It makes me feel good, more awake and ready for the day.

Several years ago I signed up for a series of private lessons with Val not knowing what to expect. The main focus for Pilates is the core, but it is amazing the strength that you gain in your arms and legs as well. I am 65 years old and am surprised at the strength that I have compared to others my age. Val and her entire staff are very well trained and are very focused on making sure that you do things correctly. Val has a great understanding of the body and knows how to work with you if you have any sort of injury or pain. I have issue with my knees and Pilates helps to strengthen weak muscles to alleviate pain and give you strength and flexibility. Needless to say, I have continued my private lessons with Val and can't imagine ever giving it up. There are a lot of Pilate's studios around, but you would be hard pressed to find one that has a staff that is more knowledgeable and friendly.

After serving in the military for 26 years, I have chronic back/neck issues, tennis elbows, shoulder and knee problems, as well as a lack of range of motion in my toe joint due to a surgically inserted titanium screw. However, I still enjoy exercising, and in July 2016 I attended a high-intensity workout session and was back at the base medical clinic with back/muscle spasms. After a shot in my backside and a new prescription of Flexeril, my primary care physician suggested I not partake in high-intensity training and pointed me in the direction of low-intensity exercise, such as Pilates. I left the medical clinic and headed straight over to Pilates by Val.
Let me tell ya...I am so happy I joined! Before Pilates, more than several times each year I would be laid out at home and not able to move due to my back or other medical issues. I am thrilled to share that I have not been "laid out" since! Nor, have my tennis elbows distracted me. As for the remainder of my medical issues, I have minimal, if any, major discomfort. I feel more flexible, balanced, and have gained strength in my legs, arms, core, and back...my entire body feels great!
Val and the other instructors are terrific! The classes are not large, so you do not get lost in the shuffle, like in other exercise classes. The instructors are always aware of each of the students' medical issues and weaknesses and work with them to ensure movements are conducted safely, yet still strengthening those weaker areas. I LOVE IT! If I could describe it in four words, it's like "Physical Therapy on Steroids!" hahaha

I can't say enough positive things about Pilates by Val! I'll be 50 years old this year, and I feel great! I began taking lessons six months ago, and can really see and feel a difference in my physique. I am stronger, more agile, and have greater endurance. Improvement in my balance and flexibility makes me feel more sure-footed, and less prone to injury as well. Pilates by Val is a smart choice for my overall health and is a gift that I will continue giving to myself.

I have been going to Pilates by Val since 2007. My flexibility has improved over the years. I was finally able to touch my toes after 40 years! Val, Eudora and the rest of the instructors are great!! I get challenged every time I attend a mat or equipment class. I am in the best shape I have ever been since joining Pilates by Val. It is a great work out and great people. Come join the fun!!

LOVE this place. Fantastic instructors who really know their stuff and how to help the individual. Every time I walk out after a session, I feel strong and stretched and better than I do walking out of a massage!

Having both lower back and foot issues, at the age of 55 I had allowed myself to become a complete couch potato. Convinced that there was no exercise I could adequately do which wouldn't tax either of my problem areas, I had almost given up on finding any kind of exercise program which might be able to work around them. Not knowing a single thing about Pilates, I drove past "Pilates by Val" for the umpteenth time and finally decided I would at least stick my head in and see what they actually did. Fully expecting to see a room full of young twenty year old leotard-clad, thong-wearing women sweating profusely while contorting themselves into impossible positions, I was pleasantly surprised. No one of that description was in that sight. There WAS, however, a room full of strange, tortuous looking devices - and Val. She welcomed me in and after explaining to her my issues she assured me that Pilates would help. I decided to take her up on her offer of a sample private session and was surprised at the ease of the "workout". Even me in my couch potato condition didn't find it too challenging. I wondered if it was even doing anything. Val assured me that targeting and isolating specific muscles in even such small ways was actually going to make a big difference. I didn't believe her, but boy was I shocked when the next day I awoke with no physical soreness but had that high feeling you get after having a finished a good workout! I decided to buy a 10 package private session with Val. Yesterday was the last of those - and I decided to buy ANOTHER private 10 session package....because although I am not yet seeing a huge outwardly difference, I am feeling a HUGE internal difference! I am sleeping better, walking taller and feeling less weak already and I feel firmer.

So far every session has been different - Val targets and works on different areas each time with me, which I like. I always joke with her that it's like the line in Forrest Gump - "you never know what you're going to get" - but you know it will be good! Val is extremely in tune with assessing even the most minute quirks of my body and figuring out ways to counteract and improve them. I can't wait to see how I feel after the end of my NEXT 10 sessions! I am expecting to start joining in on some of the group classes there soon, as well. Give Pilates by Val a chance - I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

I have taken private equipment lessons from Val and found that they were most helpful in strengthening my core to help relieve arthritis pain, especially in my back. Val paid the closest attention to make sure I was moving correctly to gain the most benefit from the lessons.
