I started at Pilates Longboat Key just over a year ago as a total neophyte, and i am obsessed! I am now training in classes with Julia 3x week ( though all of the instructors are great).
The classes are small and never completely repetitive which keeps things interesting and fun. The studio is clean and welcoming.

I wanted to keep up with my Pilates practice while on vacation so when I came across Pilates Longboat Key I decided to drop into a class. I attended a small 5 person group classical Pilates class with Lisa Cavanaugh, a perfect sized group with regular clients in attendance. Lisa gave expert coaching, pushing us just the right amount, the class was throughly enjoyable so I booked in for a 1-1 session with Lisa.
The 1-1 session was a great workout, tailored to suit my ability and goals. The studio is well equipped, clean, bright and inviting and I wouldn’t hesitate to drop in the next time I visit Longboat Key.

Pilates Longboat Key is the place to go for in person and online training. I am currently training with Lisa via zoom. It is better than any of the prior physical therapy I have ever undergone throughout my life. She is a master at getting your core strengthened and I’m now using muscles that is improving my mobility. I highly recommend their online training!

Lisa is an amazing teacher! She met me where I am, an older woman, with an inflexible body who is trying to strengthen her stomach muscles to protect her back. I felt very confident with her leading me through the classic exercises that she modified on the spot as she saw how my body reacted to the regular Pilates commands. I'm so happy I found her!

I started taking one on one lessons and small classes with Julia over the summer and she has helped to alleviate a lot of my pain by working with me and teaching me how to stretch and strengthen the areas of my body that were weak and causing my hip, back, and knees to work overtime and feel sore. I can't say enough good things about Pilates Longboat Key and its owner, Lisa Baskfield. I am a part time visitor to LBK and started taking weekly Pilates lessons with Lisa last year. I was so pleased with the results that this year, I upped that to 2 lessons/week. The studio is well equipped and the atmosphere is friendly and extremely professional. I am tremendously pleased with the results and only hope I can find someone equally competent and genuinely nice when I get back to my primary residence. I plan to return to LBK and Lisa next year!

This studio is super clean, bright and cheery. Everything you need to practice is provided and there is no struggling with weights and other equipment as the instructor gets everything prepared for each participant ahead of class. I loved it! As a former professional ballet dancer, I was looking for a way to get back in shape while at the same time respecting my various limitations due to a long career and the resulting wear and tear. I stopped into Pilates Longboat Key to speak with Lisa Baskfield before I started sessions just to make sure that Pilates would be helpful to my situation. She was very understanding and I signed up for a series. It was not long before I felt a huge improvement in the strength of my core muscles, as well as in my back, legs, and feet. I feel so much better and stronger! Lisa is an excellent instructor and terrific at adapting exercises to suit each individual’s needs. I have really enjoyed my sessions with her and with Ainsley. I highly recommend them both and eagerly look forward to returning next season!

I’ve been working out with Lisa and Ainsley twice a week a this winter & spring, in both reformer class and private lessons. Although Pilates reformer classes have been part for my workout routine for 10 years 2X a week I was amazed with my progress under their tutelage. My core is much stronger, which is a huge positive for my tennis game. Cross training for tennis is why I do Pilates!
Lisa helped me pinpoint movement and balance shifts to eliminate a stubborn limp that refused to go away even after hip replacement. I’m now walking straighter & stronger. She also identifies areas where I’m tight and suggests how I can improve with simple home stretches. When I had a stiff neck, she showed me how to most effectively massage & traction it. It was gone the next day! Ainsley has been dedicated to my balance in our sessions together.
I’m leaving Florida primed for SC state tennis championship matches, stronger, straighter and better balanced thanks to those two!
