Maintain the equipment with the proper bolts and hardware please. Maintain the dispensers in the restrooms please. This is unsatisfactory as it stays broken or has the wrong hardware holding it together. How long before the ripped and torn vinyl seats are repaired/replaced. This location is very well kept. There's a lady that runs a very tight ship here and no matter what time I've been here, there's always someone deep cleaning a portion of this gym. All the staff is super helpful and friendly too. The equipment is in great condition including the black card member area. Thank you to this hard working staff!

Okay so after going to PF for a while I can say honestly it’s worth it, it’s near my house easy access and not super busy, the people are cool once you get to know some of them and everyone’s friendly and respectful, place is always clean the workers on on cleaning duty all the time so it’s spotless, only thing I’d have to suggest is the use of more free sight machines like how some plant fitness have them, i feel like there’s way to many cardio machines whenever I come in close to half are even used (I come in 2x a day for 2 hours each) so I feel like taking some out and replacing them with actual weight machines or free weights would honestly help improve the wait time when it comes to the smith machines that are always in use or especially other ones, other than that I have no negatives just the fact I feel like we could do with more muscle building machines and less cardio equipment.

I’m really disappointed with my experience at Planet Fitness. I was charged $21 for a single-day pass, which makes no sense considering one of their monthly memberships is only $15. Why would a one-day visit cost more than a whole month?

There was no clear explanation or warning about the pricing — it felt like a rip-off, honestly. If you’re trying to encourage new people to try out the gym, charging more than the cost of a membership is not the way to do it.

Won’t be coming back. Plenty of other gyms offer more transparency and better value. Not to mention they can definitely afford for wipes instead of cheap paper towels and hand made spray.

Also the front desk staff needs to be trained better and have more customer experience.

The staff could use more training. I feel I was given a hard time by Morrigan about wearing my own infrared glasses in the red light therapy (which I've been using and showing for the past 2 months) and I showed her where I ordered them from and that they were most definitely infrared glasses but I was made to purchase another pair from planet fitness only to be told i can wear my own once back there, so it wasn't about safety it was about profit. Other than that the gym is pretty much great. I love how everything is organized in it's own group and the 30 minute room is not offered at all planet fitness gym's so that's a plus.

For the past 5 years I have been going to this location when in town taking care of elderly family members .

Sometimes for a week, sometimes for 6 months. However, I've been a member of 6 different Planet Fitness locations across the country. Always a Black Card member.

I walk into the Fleming Island, FL, Planet Fitness for my 10 minute to 30 workout, when I get a break from helping my family member I jump on the chance to workout.

This time, a manager stops me and says,"You have met your maximum visits per month for Fleming Island Planet Fitness."

Ok, when did you start only allowing a black card member 10 visits a month? I have never been throttled.

She said always and she's been there 5 years. You can imaging my surprise! I've never been stopped. Sure, some of my workouts are just 10 minutes, so I don't really get full workout since I have limits on my time.

10 visits probably was a total of 4 hrs. for June. Anyway, she was trying to be in control of the situation and would probably have let me in for my 10 minute workout.

But, I didn't have the patience to patronize her to get in my 10 minutes.

And yes, I could have made Fleming Island my home club. But why? Then she says,"You can pay $5 a visit."

Really!

I've already moved away from PF. You really need help with customer care. It's not just me, it's your reviews. I liked my many years at PF. Sure, I would get comments from employees once and a while. But not from the other locations (my wife's home club is Fleming island but she hasn't been going there for many months. However she does go to a different PF 6 days a week....NEVER has she been challenged!

For some reason, Fleming Island's management is the only PF we have ever had negative issues with....you could easily let me in. The club has 40 people in it.

I have tried to cancel my membership for 4 months. I've been run around by most every employee that I tried to deal with. $130 worth of charges later I am still enrolled. The best part is the gym I use is in Baymeadows. My home gym is listed as Flemming Island and as you know you can only cancel your membership at your home gym. Beware of this establishment. They do horrible business. I did not get any refunds or restitution. The day shift manager on the 16th of June was not helpful,short and pretty rude. Hannah on the other hand was lovely.

I'd give it negative stars if I could. Not only for this specific location but corporate as well. For starters, what gym doesn't have a flat bench that isn't a smith machine? Coupled with lazy and rude employees, you really get a nice experience here. And I'm sure a lot of people haven't heard of the new FTC rule that took effect in January that states that any company with a membership based subscription has to make it just as easy to cancel as it is to join. In other words, if they offer the ability to join online, like Planet Fitness does, they have to make it just as easy on their website to cancel, which they don't. The FTC has given companies until the 15th of May to comply, so Planet Fitness is taking every last bit of time to take advantage of you. Quite dishonest and in bad faith, but I'm not surprised by this shady company. I will be waiting on May 16th to cancel online, so please, PLEASE, let there not be a cancellation option on the front page of your website, right next to the apply for membership windows plastered all over the front page. Despicable

For the love of god please hire some employees with an ounce of customer service skill. The desk is always empty leaving people to wait sometimes 10 mins just to use the extracurriculars. You say youd like to purchase something on your account and they just stare at you like a deer in headlights like were supposed to know what they want. "May I have your last name?" or whatever they need would suffice ya know? They're always "cleaning" the floors but what about the bathrooms, soap dispensers etc? Having to deal with these iPad "adults" who now have jobs has been truly frustrating with this location and its clear by some reviews im not the only one experiencing this. Also I see in some reviews you ask customers to bring these issues to the manager but wheres the manager? The girl thats missing from the desk 98% of the time. Yeah thats helpful. This place is a complete joke…. i know HS kids that can work harder than these ppl on the phone and braiding hair in the Gym(🤮 they dont fill soap dispensers up for months at a time and if u ask for paper towels they look at you like we asking for gold and then take 3 hours to get what you requested hours before. ive also seen a few employees treat a member and tak behind this persons back over nothing. I have been going there for long but on and off. I love going to gym when I can and wish I could go to the gym everyday but have to work. I do have time going to gym while a week but sometimes I don’t feel like going there because I feel alone. My best friend and I used to go to gym together every nights after work like three years ago in St. Augustine. Before 2016, I love going to gym and outside… at 2016 to 2021, I had a horrible relationship and was a D.V. Survivor. With my ex, I became fat and decided to go to gym, again. He stopped me from going and he don’t like me going to gym. So, I started going to gym here in Fleming Island since last year and didn’t go because I have been anxiety and scared until this year, I have been forcing me to go… been losing weight and doing better. Those staff are friendly and always saying hello. Now, I feel comfortable and they keep cleaning all the time.

They recently rearranged and replaced most of the equipment. Since then, the free-weights and dumbbell area is very crowded making it difficult to work out during busy times. I’ve been a member for over five years and the water fountains have never produced cold water. I have mentioned to management with no avail. The price is right, and there is not a better gym In the local area. Also, it’s worth mentioning that the gym is kept exceptionally clean.

Worst gym company ever! I signed up when they run the promotion for a free month, was charged for it a week later, 3 days following I was charged for a yearly subscription. When calling I was told there was no manager on duty to speak to and when going up in person, was told I cannot cancel until overdue balance was paid off. I'm currently in contact with a legal team and have decided to pursue the matter with a class action case against Planet Fitness Gymnasium. It really sucks cause I just wanted to tan and find a personal trainer! 😅

I liked planet fitness for the environment, however it’s extremely overcrowded and busy at all times. I tried to cancel my membership for personal emergency reasons, and I’m incapable of sending in letters or arriving to the location myself. They told me there’s nothing they can do for me and I must cancel their way. Instead I had to ask the bank to put a block on charges from the gym, or else I wouldn’t have money for groceries for the week. Extremely inconvenient to cancel memberships and impossible to put pauses on your account. I will never be signing up with a planet fitness again after this experience. No compassion or understanding for humans or their personal lives when it comes to their memberships.

I normally work out here at night but I had a very stressful shift and wanted to get in a workout to decompress. When I checked in I was very rudely told by Alex that I had a balance of $25 and couldn’t work out. NOW I’ve had a balance before and have NEVER been told that I couldn’t work out. Any time this happened before the staff at the front desk just said “ make sure to take care of it and have a good work out” and of course I always have. So….I stepped to the side, pulled my card out and paid it because he was insistent. Now mind you I have just worked a 12 hour shift overnight and instead of going to the closer PF, I came to mine because I normally have a pleasant experience. So I paid it and walked to the locker room when I decided I wanted to tan first before I started. I asked Alex for a bed to which he said I had to have my goggles to lay!!?? I have been coming to PF for years. I have NEVER been told I HAD to wear the goggles. I normally do however, but today they weren’t in my bag. I told him that I am there 3-4 times a week and the night crew do not require this. He just said well you can’t without me physically seeing them and walked away rudely. Just WOW

2023 3-star review review: This place seems to be starting to go downhill a little. The weight racks are all supposed to have benches but apparently there’s not enough because they’re being found down in the free weight area. PLEASE order more benches and make sure the ones at the racks stay at the racks. It’s ridiculous! See picture.

My original 4-star review in 2015: This location is far better than Orange Park. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the don't have free weights on the benches. My husband is a power lifter and it keeps him from going with me to do the bench. He goes there for everything else. They do however have assisted bench weights.

About a month ago, another member accidentally dropped the medicine ball on my head while I was working out on the floor. I was in pain and the person who dropped the ball asked the front desk to call 911 but instead of calling 911, she called the manager because she has to get a manager's approval to call 911 unless I request to call. They do not care about the member and they just did not take responsibility. But that incident was inevitable because they have so many machines and there is no space between machines so people have to walk very close. After the incident, I have trauma and I finally made it to Planet and canceled the membership.

Great gym however, I have moved an hour and a half away where there are none of these. Called to cancel my membership and was told current month fees are pending and I must drive 1.5 hours to cancel in person before august 10th or mail them a certified letter requesting cancellation. I have been sorely disappointed with the summer pass program! To be clear — I do not think anyone working there has done anything negligent, however, my nephews have been turned back several times. The first was our fault but, since then, it has been a headache. All required documents have been turned in and Parent representation ensured this. Tonight- my nephew was asked if this was his first time and he said yes. He answered this because it was going to be his actual first workout. Again, no one’s fault but the computer was not checked if he was registered. He was! I’ve been attending gyms four 50 years around the world and this summer pass has been the most challenging.

I've been going here for years and I'm still impressed that the equipment and the facility are so clean and well maintained. The staff does a spectacular job and management is quick to replace of repair equipment as needed. The gym seems more crowded with the HS kids using the free summer membership, but I've rarely had to wait for a piece of equipment. The kids are polite and courteous and I hope this program inspires them to make physical fitness a life long habit.

It’s a Planet Fitness, so the quality is bound to be high. The only reason thing wrong with them right now is that the hours on weekends are all messed up at most locations. This one has a pretty typical drink fridge, except the Bang selection is absolutely incredible. I haven’t seen a better selection anywhere, gas stations, grocery stores, Walmart, Sam’s Club, not even close. Past that there’s the locker rooms, they’ve a good system set up: woman’s, water fountain, 30-minutes section, water fountain, men’s. To the left there’s the abs and stretching area and P90x stuff, all the standard equipment. One issue I’ve noticed that happens more at this particular location is that the decline bench for decline sit ups is almost always gone. There’s a whole mess of cardio equipment. The free weight area is in the back right, to the left of which is the machine area.

I came here with my guest and we were walking around the gym checking things out since it was our first time at this particular PF. The manager behind the counter was rude to me more than once. I was walking around with sandals which I know are not allowed when working out (my intentions were to shower in the locker room and use the massage chair only), but instead of telling me directly she spoke to my guest and with a strong tone said “she’s not allowed to wear those” while I was standing right there. Why not speak to me directly? It was awkward and strange, like she was speaking to my guest as if he was my parent and I was a child. When I asked for tokens for the massage chair, she questioned if I was a member of “this planet fitness.” I said I’m a black card member but I didn’t sign up at this one. She needed to know where I signed up before giving me tokens. I felt somewhat interrogated to prove my membership even though I scanned when I arrived and she already had proof. Also, the showers here are backwards. Hot is cold and cold it hot. I got burned more than once trying to figure that out. Not a fan of this place at all.

Great place to work out. They are always cleaning and always have equipment in top condition. Staff is outstanding. Always willing to assist you and extremely polite and friendly. If your looking for a place to work out. I highly recommend this place.

Colin, the trainer here, is literally a life saver. I have been taking his classes for about 8 months total now and have dropped 4 jean sizes and 65 pounds. He continually gives tips and new exercises to do on your own and his classes are always consistant with working every muscle. From the first meeting with him he was super positive and accommodating to my weaknesses and helped me to slowly improve without injury. He is so knowledgeable and highly educated which is truly hard to find. I cannot express how much I appreciate Colin and can't imagine my life without him! The gym itself is super clean and all the staff I encounter are very nice and helpful. Definitely recommend this gym.
