Fitness on Broward, James stands out in the crowd for staff. All sanitizing stations stocked, when 2 crew in, always collecting weights and equipment nit in use left by patrons. Every time I come in the staff is friendly and the people at the front are always welcoming. The energy in here is relaxed and I never feel judged. Visiting from north Florida and needed my fix of working out. Came to this planet fitness and wish it was the one near my house. This gym is immaculate, the staff is amazing, they provide great customer service, and it was an overall great experience for a black club membership to be able to use this gym. The general manager Mason was amazing!! He provided excellent customer service, he was kind, caring, and just spent time talking to you like you were a friend, Akaiylah the front desk receptionist greeted you when you come in, was so kind, also caring and ensuring that you had a great workout. When we were done we just spoke to both of them the manager and the akaiylah for 20 minutes just about life. This is a great gym! They really care, they're very friendly, and like I said I wish this is my gym at home because they're not as good as this place.

Went at about 8-9pm on a weeknight. Unbelievably crowded. Have visited many planet fitness locations and this was hands down the worst. Sadly the clientele contribute to this.... So many weights not re racked or re racked incorrectly. I saw maybe 1-2 other people who wiped down the equipment after using, most did not. Crowding around machines, weights left everywhere.... This location is definitely what could give planet fitness a bag rep.... And normally I'm a huge PF fan. UUUGGGHH

I really like Planet Fitness for the price and convenience. The gym is clean, the staff is friendly, and there are plenty of cardio machines so I rarely have to wait. It feels welcoming and not intimidating, which makes working out easier for me.

The only downside is the free weights are limited, so if you’re into heavy lifting it might not be the best fit. But overall, it’s a great place to stay active without spending a lot.

Typical planet fitness where dudes scatter 4 sets if dumbells around their feet, bring their gym bag w them to the cable machines. Some guy even brought his giant dog with him. I have to say that the gym is much better now that the new equipment is mostly in the facility. It is now a worthy gym…..especially for the cost. With that said, I would suggest the owners be more cognizant in the future of the standards they want to keep moving forward! You don’t replace good working equipment in an area with more money and leave equipment falling apart in an area with less money for last. It is very noticeable when you use both locations!
It would also be nice to have the gym equipment build out finished.
Lastly, it would be nice to get a couple short chairs for shoulder dumbbell work…..all in all it was one hell of an improvement. I can’t say enough about the manager Mason. He really does care about the gym.

This gym used to be good but the equipment has been in disarray for the past couple months. Only one leg extension machine is functional. Only one row machine functional. All of the padding on the machines are worn down and are ripped apart.

Mason is a solid wall for the the organization. I came in to cancel my membership and he had at least 10 different options for me. Just moved to the area and started the process of gym hunting. I started here first. There was plenty availability of machines. The free day pass was great to get the vibe and see the amenities. But, what really sold me was the GM, Mason, was awesome. Walked me through everything, assisted me with all of my questions. Needless to say, my quest is over! This location has become unusable because there are 40+ high school kids being let in for free to stay all day. They’ve turned the locker rooms into a clubhouse, they sit on equipment and stare at their phones, and generally have zero sense of gym etiquette or how to function in the adult world. They’re often loud and swearing at each other.

I’m sympathetic to management because allowing them in is a corporate policy and they shouldn’t have to babysit dozens of kids all day. But letting them run rampant unsupervised has created a very poor health club experience.

This gym’s location is closest to my house so it’s convenient but the equipment needs attention. The assisted pull up machine along with other machines have been broken for almost a year. Everyone is nice but when i ask the workers when it will be fixed they have no clue. One kid behind tje counter said that one maintenance guy is responsible for twenty something locations. This gym has turn to absolute crap! The pull up machine has been down for at least 6 months. One leg extension machine is broken. One leg curl machine the adjustment pin doesn’t go back in on its own. The standing leg kickback machine has been missing a bolt for about 6 months. The seated a machine has both rubber handles split. It is the same tired excuse every time! Their supplier is not getting them parts. So, how about you switch companies? Then you hear the gym is getting all new machines in 2 months. That doesn’t do anything to help now! The hydro beds are constantly down. We are paying full price for half a gym! It veered get fixed soon or they veered start charging me half price to match their half a gym. They don’t even have a decline press for chest. This is absolutely unacceptable!!!!

This Planet Fitness is the closest to my home and I must say caparatively to others I have visited this PF needs some attention and work. The staff are relatively helpful and nice. The facilities is where the problem are; A couple of machines out of service, working machines need maintenance wobbly seats, tatered cushions, untightened equipment, no paper towels in the dispensers (at the time had to go to 4 dispensers until I found one with a roll). It is really sad that PF as a company chooses not to invest in certain neighborhoods, but the PF on Powerline north looks as though more investment is placed there.

Although I gave the gym 4 stars (always room for improvement), I wanted to give Damian (at the front desk) 5 stars. During our interaction today he was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. As an ex employee of a different brand of gym, when it came to canceling your membership it would be like pulling teeth at my gym. People hated LAF for that. With Damian, it was smooth sailing. I mentioned to him that I recently retired and I now was part of the Silver Sneakers Club. He said I didn’t need to cancel, I just needed to sign new paperwork. He did try to upswell me to a premium plan at half the price and I could bring a friend but my friend is also part of the Silver Sneaker Club so I had to decline. Good job on his part. Kudos to Planet Fitness. Sorry for the long review but I wanted to share this positive experience. Most people write bad reviews because of anger, but you gotta do the right thing when credit is due.

The manager of the store, Mason, is overbearing and while you are quietly going about your business will peck you with some shoe policy which clearly contradicts planet fitness’s own written policy on their website. It says no “sandals or open toed shoes” Mine are a type of shoe which encloses the entire foot with no toes displayed and the strap on the back of the ankle. If someone is clean ,quiet, working out, minding their business, it’s better to not add extra stuff not even written on their own policy on their own website just for the sake of being bossy.

It’s very inconsistent here. Many times I’ve encountered using “community rags” instead of paper towels, which is very unhygienic for everyone to wipe their germs on one or few towels! I called before going. I asked if there was a hydromassage bed. I was told there was and clarified the difference between a bed and a lounger. I was again told that there is a bed. I came for my workout and after went to use the hydromassage bed. I was so disappointed that I was lied to and they do NOT have a hydromassage bed but have a hydromassage lounger instead. As if that wasn't bad enough, when I went to the front to ask the staff if I was looking in the wrong place, he came back to the loungers with me and started to argue with about the difference between a bed and a lounger. Even with going to the hydromassage website, he continued to argue. If I was given the correct information, I would have just gone to a different location which had the correct equipment.

Dropped by here the bathroom was horrible. Obviously no one checks this bathroom it smelled like piss everywhere, due to privacy of others I didn’t take pics of the rest. Showers with no mats on the tile(I showered wearing my sandals) after the guy before me spit during his whole shower.. Two shower stalls with one out of order, the staff clearly plays the music they want to hear with Rap music being the only sound coming through the speakers. I couldn’t wait to get out.

I relocated to Connecticut in 2023 and promptly contacted my Planet Fitness home club in Fort Lauderdale to cancel my membership. I was instructed to mail a cancellation letter, as email was reportedly unreliable. Despite sending the letter, I continued to be charged, leading me to place a stop payment out of frustration.

In August 2024, I visited the Fort Lauderdale location in person to resolve the issue. At 11:00 AM, no manager was available; staff informed me that the new manager would arrive at 3:00 PM but implied he might not assist with my cancellation. They suggested leaving the situation unresolved. 🤔🤔 Huh?

This experience has been exceedingly frustrating, highlighting the cumbersome process of canceling a Planet Fitness membership. While joining is fairly easy, discontinuing membership has proven to be unnecessarily complex and unresponsive. I hope others do not encounter similar obstacles. No resolve, help or follow-up🤷🤷

Used to go here in the early mornings before work, but realized it made more sense to find time during the day to hit another location. Let me preface this by saying that I don't have an issue with homeless people. I actually feel really bad for them, and try to help out when I can. They deserve places to sleep, places to cleanse. That said, many times at this location, the morning crowd was having to deal with homeless people sleeping on the benches in the locker room, who were needing to be asked to move, in order to get into the lockers where everyone's clothes are. Multiple times, homeless people who are clearly on drugs, are not only in the club, but acting aggressively toward the people in it. One of the drug addict regulars could be found power-walking back and forth across the locker room, yelling nonsense, and acting confrontational toward everyone who entered. If you brought this stuff to the front desk, they told YOU to 'just call the cops.' Police were called multiple times just while I was there. Multiple fights and arguments occurred just during the time I was there. When all of that stuff wasn't going on, it was mostly a laid-back group of regulars in the morning. It's wild, there should not be a Planet Fitness location that is allowed to operate like this. You can tell everyone is used to this kind of thing, and they just try to deal with it the best they can. I get it, South Florida can be pretty rough; but stuff like this, it's not just concerning, it's actually very dangerous for everyone involved.

UPDATE: Still one of the worst ones Ive been too. Staff disappears from the front desk at night, they close 30+min earlier than the times literally posted on their door, and primary machines have been broke for 4+ months.

Hit or miss. Black Card area is never working properly. Needs new management

I would rate 0 stars but unfortunately it is not an option. Please hire better people to work for customer service at the front desk. I went to this location yesterday in the afternoon by 6PM. How is possible that the two guys in the front can’t even assist me when I asked for help on a simple task. Their facial expressions implied that they did not want to assist me with my inquiry. I had to cancel my membership because I went through a surgery and the recovery process will take more than I expected. I used to go very early in the morning and the crew are nice except for those two individuals. Very disappointed.
