Why are we allowing the youth to workout in slides or barefoot. Bravo for working out and taking care of your health. However working out in sandals is a safety violation and shouldn’t be allowed. If you look closely at all the reviews of this place in the last year, you’ll see that a ton of people have given this place is bad reviews. The Manager, Mariah, Doesn’t know how to address people and doesn’t have any people skills so she talks to you With a condescending voice, In the last year, the place has been consistently just dirty. The men’s bathroom consistently smells like urine And I’m talking about all the way out into the locker rooms. It’s just absolutely disgusting and the younger workers sit on the desks there with our arms crossed and give you dirty. Looks, The management of this place is abysmal and the way they handle things is absolutely ridiculous and I would not recommend this place at all. I stopped by to check out the planet fitness in Gainesville. When I walked in, there were two staff members at the desk. I went there to see if this was gonna be a good place to rehab after surgery. They asked me what I wanted. The one lady asked me if I wanted the tour of the Gym and I said sure. We walked out into the middle of the gym and she just pointed at a few things and told me what they were. Then we walked back to the desk. I inquired about what the fees were. The gentleman behind the desk pointed at a tablet and proceeded to read. He was mumbling so bad I could barely hear him. When I leaned into listen, his breath was so bad I nearly fell over.. Both of them seemed annoyed that I was asking questions . I said thank you very much and promptly left. No one was particularly rude to me, but no one was very enthusiastic about talking to me either.

This is the most fragile gym, or planet fitness , i've ever been to. The two females in the front spoke extremely nasty and disrespectful at me for putting a heavy weight down too fast. It's because of this PF Location that I canceled my membership after being a member (also in different states) for 10 years! I went one time and that was it for me. Worst PF I have been to! It was so hot in there, No A/C, dirty old machines, small, guys just standing around talking or on their phones while sitting at the one machine I wanted to use. Also location and parking lot not the greatest area, and far for me to even go to. I immediately canceled and joined a much better gym for not much more a month. Bye bye PF forever. The absolute worst customer service. Max had the nasty attitude from the minutes he picked up the phone. Told me there was no manager in the store. Then told me I could call back in 15 minutes to speak with one. I told him no I would not it’s 8 in the morning there had to be a manager. Some lady name Mariah got on the phone stating she was the manager. Completely disregarded everything her service representative just said. Before you spend money with this go to crunch, they’re 24 hours they’re cheaper and they have great customer service.

Compared to other PF I have enjoyed being a member of this location is simply awful. Short hours, lack of equipment and not very clean ( especially the restrooms). I have been a member here two months and the a/c has not worked for 3-10 days at a time. Its 95-100 degrees outside!! Also, on several occasions I have been charged $ 4.00 (typically $ 2.00) for a generic bottle of PF water!! And it's 85 degrees in the building!! One final note for the seniors out there: Skip this place. They dont accept any of your health insurance programs. Planet Fitness corporate should REALLY think twice about having their name on this location.

The staff are good but relative to other gyms in the area (and other PF locations) This one is poorly managed and has unfair operating hours. Most gyms are open 24 hrs… this one closes at 7pm on Sunday.. 9pm on weekdays.. to me thats completely unreasonable.. especially in this area with limited affordable gym options.. if the hours were extended to at least 11pm the poor management wouldn't be as much of an issue to me because then at least id have enough hours in my day to make it there!

So, the poor management / up keep of amenities combined with the unfair hours is the reasoning for my rating..

Everytime I go there I can never use the squat machines because they have so many people and only 3 machines which sucks because I spent so long building up to the weight I was at and now I can never use it. It's fine. The hours suck for night owls, and it's pretty much always crowded. People who go here tend to be new to gyms, so the etiquette can be lacking. I've never seen the lunk alarm be used against any gym goer...which is good because it shouldn't be. So if you're a beginner and are scared, I hope that helps! The kids who work at the front desk are fine. They don't talk much, which I think is what people prefer anyways. The locker rooms and bathrooms are cleaner than expected. They always have cleaning solution and brown paper towels on top of the trash cans ready for use on the machines before you use them. It can smell musty in here, because it does get crowded. It's mostly middle aged men and high school kids.

I've been to a number of PF locations around the US since I travel a lot for work. This gym I've been going on and off to for several years. Overall, it's at a much lower standard that other PF locations that I've been to.

The equipment is on par with most other PF locations. Most is fairly standard with some pieces of equipment breaking down and needing repair.

The space itself is decent and generally even when busy you have space though the weight area can definitely get a bit tighter.

The real issues that make a difference are the staffing and cleanness. While there are often 2-4 staff working mostly they are on their cell phones, headphones or are talking to one another. I certainly don't mind people having conversations but it can be a struggle to get someone's attention if you need anything. I've never seen another gym where the staff are just listening to something on their headphones and seem completely checked out. Given this reflects on their friendliness too since it's one of the few gyms that staff often doesn't look at you when you are coming/going or let alone say hi/goodbye.

This work ethic impacts the cleanness of the gym. Often you will find multiple cleaning stations where the trash is overflowing, there are no paper towels or cleaning solution. This wouldn't be so bad if there were only a few people working but when you have multiple staff present there's not an excuse. The bathroom/locker room is generally in poor condition. The space itself often is quite stuffy even for Florida. Lastly, the hours are also significantly less than other PF sites with the gym closing in at 7 pm on weekends. If I didn't have a Black Card membership and this was the only available gym I'd use I'd definitely use one of the other facilities in Gainesville.

During a recent overnight trip through Gainesville, FL, I decided to stop by the local Planet Fitness for a workout, hoping for the consistency I'm used to from my home location in Shelbyville, KY. Unfortunately, this visit left much to be desired.

First off, cleanliness was a noticeable issue. The facility had hand smudges all over the walls—something that would never fly back home. Unlike my usual gym, there was no designated area for stretching and abs, which was a bit disorienting. They advised me to find a spot along the wall, where I encountered old and frayed yoga mats.

The locker room also did not meet expectations. It wasn't nearly as clean as what I'm accustomed to, and the faucets were frustratingly difficult to use. As for the staff, they were present but not particularly helpful or attentive. Most of my visit saw them socializing with each other rather than assisting guests or maintaining the equipment and cleanliness.

While I understand that experiences can vary from one location to another, this particular Planet Fitness didn't live up to the standards set by its counterparts. It's a stark reminder that not all franchises maintain the same level of service and cleanliness. Based on this experience, if I were a local, I wouldn’t choose to be a member here.

I have been going to Planet Fitness for 3 years, and it has been a really good experience for me for the most part. However, over the last year, it has really gone downhill. It has become over run with homeless people who leave the men's bathroom and shower area to smell like dirty feet and funk most times. The other problem that is happening that no one wants to talk about it because it's not PC to do so, but the men's locker room has become a stalking ground for men who like men. I have viewed and experienced men peeking into showers, men taking pictures of other men without their consent when they are changing, and men showering without closing there curtain making them visible to all the other men and children that go to this gym. Outside of this gym, that would be indecent exposure, but apparently, it's acceptable behavior at Planet Fitness. I recently ran into a man showering with his shower curtain wide open. When I asked this man if he could close his shower curtain because most don't want to see his naked body and there are kids in the locker room, he told me he didn't see a problem with his naked body and that I shouldn't be so uptight. I explained to him that this behavior makes me uncomfortable and he basically told me that their is nothing I can do about it and if I don't stop asking him to stop exposing himself to men and children he would get me kicked out of the gym. At that point, I just left it alone because the conversation was going nowhere. Well, I went to the gym yesterday and guess what? I was informed that my membership was canceled, and I'm no longer allowed at the gym. I didn't even get a chance to tell my side of the story. I was just guilty. Guilty of wanting a grown man to not expose himself to all. It's so unfair. I guess all that the conservative Republicans say about Planet Fitness are true.
I have complained to the staff about these issues and they sent me to management. I spoke to management about these issues, and nothing changed or was addressed because "they didn't see it happen." That's what I was told. This situation happens, and the black guy is ran out of the gym without even a conversation on what happened. Typical.

I've been working on a Planet fitness for over 4 years now and it's coming to the point that I'm not happy anymore due to the smell and laziness and lack of responsibility by the cleaning company or management especially in the bathrooms. I understand a lot of homeless people come there and use the shower and facilities for their own needs and that's fine but the management still needs to do their part and make that bathroom presentable and make it for the smell is presentable. It's almost offensive and is offensive sometimes when you walk in there and the smell is so bad from just nasty people. Again I get it I get nasty to it work but people need to be responsible clean up them theirselves clean up after themselves and if there's any residue left over from that the management needs to take care of it by getting air fresheners or being more clean and approaching the problems better. Why isn't this a 24 hr gym like most other planet fitness locations? Gainesville is a medium/big city, and smaller cities even have at least one 24 hr gym location.

It can be a little crowded too with relatively long wait times earlier for some of the smith machines. The showers are nice though, and so is most of the staff. Overall I enjoy this gym, but it is hard to with the early closing hours since I work nights. There are other 24 hr access gyms in Gainesville for the same price like Baileys that I've been looking at switching to as a result.

I actually went in with low expectations based on some of the reviews but this is by far the smallest, most cramped and aged location out of all the pf I've visited. Also, there's only 1 stall, the showers pause when someone flushes the urinal and it's not the clenliest either, and yes there's a certain odor in the showers - maybe it's the water.

Ive been using this gym for almost 3 years now the men's restroom always smells and in need of a deep cleaning. They have plenty of staff they are constantly seen at the front desk on their phones or just talking. The manager or owner need to get on the staff and make those every couple of hours go and clean the restrooms and wipe down equipment that is not being used. If I could give a 0 I would! Absolutely horrible! I was presented an add on snap chat for 1.00 for a month of service. This was February 12th 2024, I signed up. It was less then 5.00. So the 17th, of February 2024 (5 days later) I got charged 26.xx. Now I leave my card locked , so I wasn't actually charged. Now today February 27th, 2024 they tried to charge me again 36.xx . So I sent a Message to the planet fitness gainesville fl. The manager Brent Hicks responded with the explanation for the transactions. So I replied with I would like to cancel! Now I got a reply from Brent saying I had 2 other accounts with past due balances and refused to cancel my membership I haven't even had 2 weeks. Oh an not to mention. I've been an avid lifter for years and have had numerous gym memberships over the years. I can say whoever the young lady is, managing this planet fitness is doing a stellar job and the owner/owners should be proud. The gym looks great all the time and everything is always clean. Sure the machines break at times but what gym doesn't have machines that require maintenance. Overall a really nice facility with professional management. After my stroke i needed to get back some of my strength, and i love going to Planet Fitness, it is relaxed atmosphere, you check in via the PF App on your phone or you can use key fob they give you after you sign up, there are always plenty of machines, exercise bikes and the bathrooms are clean and the staff keep the gym well maintained and clean and friendly and helpful.

Hello I requested to cancel my membership on the 16th of August when I visited the Gainesville GA location. I spoke with the manager Chloe. She indicated that my request would be sent to Dawsonville to process, since this was my original home club. However I'm still seeing my account as active. I live in the Caribbean and only needed the PF membership when I visited with family in the US, I have returned to my home country and would like my membership canceled . Much improved since yesterday's visit at another PF - this one had hot water. Yay! A good go at the 30 minute workout with arms, legs, some curls. And then over to the locker room to get a shower. Good space with appropriate hot water and comfortable.

I've been using the heck out of my Black Card membership and it's worth it. Hooray for a workout and shower on the road!

1st and last time I will go there. The parking lot is so dark that is completely unsafe. No parking light post even near the place or in the parking spots. Small and cramped. I walked in and right back out.

Parking lot is completely dark. Was not greeted on the way in or the way out and that is the first time at any planet fitness I have not been greeted , it’s one thing you can count on, not here. I’m a nomad and that’s why I have a membership, showers and changing rooms were mediocre at best

It's not enough this place closes early on Saturday and Sunday. But 12 minutes before closing they blast the 🚨 alering people to the MAX VOLUME stuterling and hurting my ears for life.

They do not need to blast the siron to the max damaging people's ear drums. Be respectful of your gym members if you want to keep them!

So, yes small gym experience. If you are one of those people who need the world in. A gym than I suggest going down Newberry road where you will get extra amenities but you will spend your whole paycheck. One has to really question what the need and want. I love PF because I don't want bells and whistles. I want a clean, quiet atmosphere to do my workouts and be affordable. The staff have always been amazing. They are busy too these days so be patient if you need their help with a machine. I always see multiple walking around cleaning machines. For machines, I would love to see a rower or a ski krieg machine but ok if not. I had tried cross fit and those machines were amazing.

1st time visiting and was surprised/disappointed in the facility and accommodations.

One would think a college town would have a larger space, more machines, and more up-to-date equipment. Smallest PF facility I've ever visited, which means less machines but one would think they'd make up for size with up-to-date equipment.

My local PF in a town 1/3 this size has all of the above and more than this one has to offer.

Even the Seminoles have a better PF than what the Gators have to offer and that's just sad.

I'll save my workouts for local and Tallahassee PF's moving forward.

First off, I believe Planet Fitness is the best gym around for bang for the buck. And I've been to many and always been very satisfied. I like this gym for the proximity to my house. However, this one is solid but very unflattering. The gym is smaller than normal and much busier than normal (probably because of the lack of nearby PFs). I generally feel that I am working on top of others. I didn't understand the bad feedback on the staff. They always seemed friendly and courteous. But the tightness and crowdedness of the facility earned my rating. I would say that it would be nice to have given it a 3.5. Not a 4 but better than a 3.

I liked the facility but the customer service has not been good. I have routinely had trouble finding an employee to help me. And then they make cancellation extremely difficult. You can’t do it over the phone - in person only. You have to time it exactly right - not too early or too late, and if you are even a couple of days late, they won’t work with you at all on a refund. It’s very easy to be late because their annual fee date and your normal monthly billing date are not the same.

As long as you understand that PF is a "no frills" gym, and you're okay with that, you'll love this PF. There's no babysitting, no pools, no hot tubs, no Zumba classes, no juice bar, and no scantily-clad people walking around solely to be seen. People are here to bust their butts and get their sweat on, and that's why I like it. There's a 30-minute cardio circuit. There's probably 30 treadmills, 2 stair climbers, 20 bikes (recumbent and upright), 20 Ellipticals, 10 ARC Trainers. There's plenty of weight machines, 2 cable towers, a TRX tower, 3 Smith machines, and a free weight leg press machine. Each side of the gym (it's very symmetrical, when you look at it) has multiple TV sets in front of the cardio equipment (ranging from news, sports, and lifestyle channels). In the back, you'll find tanning rooms, massage rooms, and massage chairs. The lockers are always clean and stink-free, as is the gym itself.
Crowd level is dependent on when you go; if you go at 7am, you have your choice of anything... if you go at 5pm, you may have to wait for a weight machine, but will probably have an available cardio machine. If you go at 10pm, you have your choice of anything.

The most no frill Planet Fitness ever. The smallest I've ever been to and they don't use the air conditioner. They'll also turn the large fans off in the middle of your workout. Just charge me an extra $5 a month and turn the fans/ac on please.

Clean facility, respectful, encouraging and helpful staff, very welcoming place. This is our home gym, but we get the same wonderful caring treatment at all of them we have been to from South Florida to North Georgia
