I've been going to Planet Fitness for a while now, and overall, I'm really impressed. The gym is clean, well-organized, and the equipment is top-notch. Whether you're into cardio, strength training, or just starting out, they’ve got everything you need. I never feel like I'm waiting around to use a machine, and the staff is always helpful and welcoming.

That said, I do have one small gripe—the color scheme. I get that the bright purple and yellow are part of the brand identity, but it can be a bit overwhelming at times. A more neutral or calming palette might make for a more relaxing workout environment. Still, that’s a minor thing compared to the overall quality and value you get here.

Nothing more than a meat market. Groups of 16-21 year old guys looking for girls who are there to be seen in hopes of some sugar daddy taking interest. The cardio section is way too big, and the few machines they have are taken up by kids texting and taking Instagram photos. I am canceling my membership this weekend. I would keep it if the staff would actively observe the floor and remove the squatters from the machines.

Due to the incompetence of the staff (Maryann) and her refusal to get them manager to help with an issue regarding my military discount on the annual fee I canceled my membership the same day I joined. I did end up speaking to the manager (JC or Jason?)
and although he listened to my complaint he seemed rather aloof and apathetic to my situation. I recommend if you are a veteran or active military trying to get your discount you set up your membership in house and not online at a different location other than Bartram. Do not rely on an hourly employee who could care less about your business. It’s quite alarming that you not only would treat your new members this way but also your veterans. BBB complaint filed as well so hopefully the owners take this seriously.

The bathroom always smells terrible and the rules are posted but not enforced, but for $10 it was OK, until I tried to work out on a holiday when their posted closing time was 1 pm and was told almost an hour before that that it was Planet Fitness policy to not allow members in the hour before closing. Pretty ridiculous, but if they had posted that I would have understood. They didn't bother letting anyone know until I showed up during business hours and then was told I wasn't going to be allowed to work out. I see the owner responds to these reviews with a generic instruction to call the gym, but apparently doesn't do anything else because someone else posted the same review 3 months ago and their policy hasn't changed.

I love working out at this gym because it's convenient, close to my job. However, it is a bit dusty in certain areas, like the stretching bar and stretching area, and not to mention the womans locker room. Showers hair often and grim, and this is at 6:30 a.m. The seating where the lockers are always dusty and the counter tops with mirrors. Just this morning around 7:20 I asked the 2 young ladies how often do the the locker rooms get cleaned, and 1 said they clean at night, i asked kindly if they could please clean the counter top, because I get ready for work after I shower. I felt like I got slapped in the face. I come out from the shower and they ignored what I asked as a customer. So I approached them and said no one cleaned it, then the young blonde said I was rude, I told her I just asked if they could clean the counter, no response.
Overall I just am asking for some respect from a customers point of view and keep the place clean during the day. All I saw was two young girls chit chattering, when all asked was to clean the counter top, there have been times when it wasn't a problem when I would ask the young redhead, she would do it for me.

I frequent this location out of convenience of my job however I feel the staff focuses too much on side conversations instead of making sure all guests are logged in Manager of the location JC made it his spuer professional business to make sure an employee followed upon re-entry to make sure I logged had he been paying attention he would have noticed me walk right past him out the front door and walk right back in to grab my phone off a machine... even goes as far to mention a fanny pack that I'm carryi g saying you can't have back packs or bags on the floor literally 75% of all of the people have some sort of bag one guy literally had a back pack on while using a machine... point being i keep emergency medications in my bag so me having a bag should be no business of the staff unless it was left on the premises

JC is a very rude manager. I was very frustrated with receiving over $200 of charges on a 10.75 monthly account. I left a message for him and he never called me back. I called back and he answered the phone. I told him my problem and he talked over me the entire time. He had a very condescending and aggressive manner. He didn’t listen to anything I was saying as this is the way it is and deal with it. He refused to give me corporate or district number. This guy is very rude and should not be representing Planet Fitness.

Having the gym's premium BLACK card membership is a good deal and very handy if you do any traveling because the Planet has locations nearly everywhere. Visited the Bartram location because I needed to do some AB work and was in the area of this club. Most of the PF's have specific machines for core work and its my go-to gym for AB work.
However I was surprised to learn that this location had removed several of my favorite AB devices and replaced them with others that in my opinion are just not as effective. The club has replaced all their Cybex floor equipment with new offerings too. New Smith Machines are a GREAT improvement as most of the SMITH's in Planet gyms are older and are not maintained properly with at least monthly lubrications of the VERTICAL RAILS. Without weights, a lift should be fluid with zero resistance from the rails and the older machines had too much drag. When you do a lift you want the weights to provide the resistance NOT the machine components. Inspite of the missing equipment i often use, I was able to get a good WO session with cardio and resistance work. They've got a brand new larger SNRGY cage too. All in all its a great and comfortable gym for the everyday person, open 24/7 and in case you think you're unable to afford it, have you priced how much eating out is lately? PLANET FITNESS is pure value.

Literally such a bad experience. I wanted to try a new gym and drove 20 minutes here just to be totally disrespected by the girl at the front desk. She’s an older white lady with black hair. I called prior and was told that planet fitness offers a free day pass for new members or whatever and I walked in and she was literally arguing with me whenever I just asked for help. Worked out here till I had an incident this past Saturday morning. Wanted to use the Leg press but a man who was actively doing bicep curls with a bar claimed he was doing both at the same time and would not let me use the leg press. I told an employee about this guy hogging the equipment and she said she would check it out and came around the desk to follow me to see what the problem was. I got back to the area and the employee had walked back to the frond desk and didn't come to observe the incident. I came back and the man asked if I told on him and I said I did. With the employee still not in sight the situation escalated and he asked for the employee. I walked back to the front and again asked the employee to observe the situation. She came over and observed the man using both opposite pieces of equipment and then asked me to use the other different leg press or to wait for the man to finish using both pieces of equipment to use the leg press I was trying to use. Therefore I decided to cancel my membership then and there because of the gym employees lack of taking the situation seriously the first time I called them over and lack of gym etiquette with her response.

Upon entering the gym, I was immediately struck by the overall uncleanliness. The locker rooms were in a state of disarray, with overflowing trash bins, visible dirt and grime on surfaces, and a pervasive unpleasant odor. The workout equipment itself was equally concerning. I observed numerous dumbbells and benches with a sticky residue, and several cardio machines displayed a visible layer of dust and sweat. This unsanitary environment raises serious hygiene concerns and creates a breeding ground for potential health hazards.
The unprofessional conduct of the staff further exacerbated my negative experience. When I politely inquired about the availability of cleaning wipes for the equipment, the staff member I approached displayed a dismissive and unhelpful attitude. Their response lacked basic courtesy and did not address my legitimate concern. Furthermore, throughout my visit, I witnessed staff members engaging in loud and inappropriate conversations, creating a disruptive atmosphere that detracted from the focus one expects at a gym. The combination of these factors – the uncleanliness of the facilities and the unprofessional behavior of the staff – has completely deterred me from ever returning to your establishment. It is deeply concerning that a company dedicated to promoting health and wellness would allow such conditions to persist.
I urge you to take immediate steps to address the issues I have outlined. This includes a thorough cleaning and sanitation of the gym facilities, along with a comprehensive training program for staff members on proper customer service and hygiene protocols. I would also appreciate a formal response outlining the specific actions you plan to take to rectify these issues.
I am confident that by taking these steps, Planet Fitness can create a more welcoming and sanitary environment for all its patrons.

I moved to Jacksonville from out of state where I have had the Black card for almost a year. I have been a PF member since 2013 with a few years off in between. I already did my research online of how to transfer my home gym but was thinking of downgrading to the Classic membership as well. Online stated the fees and so I crunched the numbers to see what would make sense financially given I have a home gym and gym at my community. I had questions that could not be answered online given my circumstance regarding start up costs with Classic. I called on two separate occasions the day I wanted to take action on my membership changes. Nobody had answered the phone both times at separate times of the day. I then drove up to the gym on a non peak time on Saturday. I was hesitantly greeted by two younger workers who didn’t seem enthusiastic to acknowledge me after standing in front of them for a minute. Finally the guy who was still working, other guy had on a backpack like he was getting off his shift, looked up and I began to proceed about my inquiry. He was mid conversation while turning to the other kid who apparently was holding this guys phone and was having a conversation with him in the middle of our conversation. I asked him the question on transferring which he proceeded to tell me with attitude the steps to do a transfer online which I already knew. I asked specifically about the fees to which he looked at the other kid and said i dont know they never trained me on this. He asked the other guy did so and so tell you this? Im guessing that was his trainer/manager. Instead of giving me answers or providing me with a place to find the answers he just engaged again with a conversation with his buddy right in front of me like he gave me the answer that would facilitate my understanding of why I came there. Very off putting and not a good impression. I get it, it’s PF not Ritz Carlton. We are talking basic customer service here though. I pushed again for answers to which he said I don’t know. So I asked who can I contact to get actual answers to my questions and they looked at me, including the other kid up from the phone at this point, like I was crazy for asking simple membership questions about fees. He told me his manager’s working hours which included the times of the day he would be there and when he left and then I asked so tomorrow? He goes oh no week days. Well it isn’t really a big deal to come in then but given I have a job and a child weekends are easier. So I said no problem. The kid with the phone didn’t say a word and proceeded with sarcasm and passive aggressiveness to grab the managers card and slide it on the desk to me. Nothing was said by him. I looked down and just said thanks and left. Made my decision easy. I went home and cancelled my membership as soon as I got home not caring about the $58 early cancellation fee. Not paying a place like this money that I was already not necessarily needing when their customer service skills don’t meet basic standards of human interaction.

Clean facilities, full free weights and weight machines, and a fleet of cardio machines, the gym is fairly nice! Problematicly, it can be difficult to actually cancel your gyn membership...
