My issue is with billing. My bill has come out of my account every month on the 16th. I canceled my gym membership because I haven't been there on a year. But when they hit my bank account for $52.68 I figured this would be a perfect time to go in and cancel. So I called after caneling my membership so they would stop payment after contacting my bank, but when I spoke with Kylie she said it was my annual fee that should have been processed at the beginning of the month. What? After being a member for 2 years and my payment being taken out every month on the 16th now this 1 time it " should have come out on the first so I can't stop payment". As far as I can see this is a their problem not a me problem. Beware of their billing!!!! And the cherry ontop Kylie was also unwilling to give me corporates number stating she didn't have the number. Smh!!!! I will never refer anyone to this gym all because of this situation. Before this is loved this gym. Super sad.

The type of machines there are out dated. They stress your body too much instead of easing it so you can lose weight. I do have to admit that there are a lot of equipments considering to the number of people exercising. In addition, the place is well ventilated and locker room and bathroom are always clean. I wish they had newer models of exercise equipments.

Very disappointed that I got up at 2:15 am and drove 20 minutes to go to the gym only to find the doors locked. It’s Thursday morning August 7th so there’s no confusion of if they were open or not. Lately there has been 3 employees here in the morning and now nobody.

Management has no empathy for situations that come up (health related that resulted in not using gym for a month but still paying). Jasmine refused to do anything to help out and seemed to care less. Managers like this are what cause people to tell a thousand people to not join their location. Unfortunately she’s not smart enough to realize that something as simple as comping a month would have potentially not cost the club thousands of dollars in revenue from potential members that wont join now due to my word of mouth and hopefully this review.

Most of the staff was very friendly and it’s an overall great gym but the manager gave me a hard time about cancelling my membership. I had to move to another state unexpectedly and I called twice to tell them I wanted to cancel. I was charged the monthly membership fee the day after I moved since they said the only way to cancel was in person or to send a handwritten letter. Cancelling shouldn’t be this hard especially for a gym like planet fitness… so I went out of my way to send them a letter. I was then charged again, the day my letter arrived because the billing cycle occurred on that day. When I asked if a refund was possible they said no and there was nothing else they could do. The whole process was frustrating and they didn’t make it any easier. I’d rather pay a higher monthly membership fee at a nicer gym than deal with that again.

I’ve used a variety of Plant Fitness gyms over the years, but this one is definitely the worst. It needs an update on everything. The Wifi never works, when I brought this up to the staff they provided little, to no solutions. Phone service is also not great inside the building. The equipment is alright, but the gym is small so it can get crowded fast. Staff is nice for the most part. I cancelled my membership and it just happens it’s a “billing week” so I’ll get charged for the next month. I was told I can still use the gym until the next billing cycle which is nice I guess, but at this point I rather workout elsewhere. Would I recommend Planet Fitness? Yes. Would I recommend this location? Absolutely not.

I've trained at many gyms in Jacksonville, but this one is definitely the best of them all! I feel comfortable, the movement is always very moderate, the people are very friendly and respectful, the girls who work there are super friendly, attentive, kind, proactive and very helpful. They always have a beautiful smile on their face, they always greet us with an enthusiastic good morning when we arrive, they hope we enjoy our workout, and they wish us a great day when we leave! The equipment is great, the location is perfect, it's impeccably clean, the room temperature is very pleasant, and the parking lot is huge! I love training here! No judgments, it's just joy!

Having travelled most of the state, this is my home gym and despite my natural leaning towards this equipment as preferred, I can tell you this gym is easily in the top 5%. Its clean- people are generally respectful of getting on/off the equipment and not staring at their phone forever.

If they ever replace the Hammer Strength/Life Fitness with the Matrix stuff I may have to switch (Old St Augustine has Matrix)- personal preference but the Hammer strength is better quality and allows more natural movement (at least for me)

Man! Been getting charged double for months now! Then got hit with TWO ANUAL FEES. So I call at 1:27 p.m. hoping to speak with a manager to get the problem resolved. No manager on duty, then I ask when will a manager be present on a weekday because it is Thursday and no one is there. She says that her work hours are Mon-Fri 8-5 😂🤣😂🤣 so no resolution and still no manager. Do not and I repeat! Don’t sign up here! They are thieves!!!

Great gym with everything you NEED to workout. The only thing I'd recommend is wearing a lot of clothing bec Planet Fitness never TURNS down its gigantic overhead FANS and they create a helleva uncomfortable wind chill. The gyms are always well Air Conditioned but those overhead fans are just TOO MUCH in the colder times of the year . Wear a lot of clothing when you're in PF....the desk staff have no idea what youre talking about because they aren't UNDER those damned fans and even if the report it to their supervisors, nothing ever gets done. Almost no gyms in Jacksonville are as COLD as Planet's, so beware.

Just wish to share! Bunch of criminals work and manage this place here! A "manager" named Tiffany, refuse to resolve my account and discrepancies. Frankly, they charged me 3x in one month for membership fee $29.99, plus 2x annual fee. And then when I confronted them, they went further to cancel my membership without my permission, should've sued them, but I got no time for worthless zero customer service folks. I never had such issues with any other fitness center except this one, so I advise you all to keep checking your bank statements so you don't encounter same problems. They should replace the managers with adequate and professional people, before they lose all customers!

Wow I work out at planet fitnesses all over the country, never seen this.
I walked up at 7:02 and was locked out, a guy opened the door and looked at me like I was an idiot and said you didn’t know we close at seven, I said no Planet fitness in the country closes at 7 that I have seen. He said go to beach Boulevard. I pulled it up on my phone and said that’s 25 minutes away and it’s pouring down.
The website says the gym is open 24/7 but not the case. You’d think they could afford to have a person to playi on their phone at the counter so people could use the gym they pay for.

They have better equipment than the Normandy location. The showers are hot and feel wonderful versus, Normandy showers are Luke warm barely get warm. The workers are friendly and helpful. Overall I give it a 10/10 and will be visiting this location more often.

Machines I've informed them about are still broken with no signs on them. So you get on and then find out it's not working. I understand it takes time to get equipment fixed but it signes on them. The ones that you say work on and off. Hey then fixed. Don't say just unplug and plug back in to get it to work. Also lack of good placement for hand sanitizer. You have to walk all over the place to find some. Put some by where you get the sprays to clean the machines.

Staff gave me a hard time about trying to plug my phone into the wall outlet and sitting at what he said was a table that is only for sign ups. This is after other people who are members and not signing up were sitting there. There are 2 tables at this gym. People always sit at tables with a phone. This is nothing new. Why are staff making this an issue now after several years of it not being a problem and why only this day? And what about the countless other people that sit there? This is the least welcoming and least friendly pf in florida i have been to ever.

It's a nice big gym and I love that. I'm a newby there and I like the 30 minute circuit...however...it is not monitored at all and people just pop in and use the machines they want for long periods of time, so we can't use them like we are supposed to. That is frustrating. And I've noticed many people don't wipe down. I know boohoo...poor me. Just an observation though.

Planet Fitness is a joy to be a member of. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, the facility is well maintained and clean. The temp inside is perfect and ceiling fans provide excellent airflow. My last visit consisted of a 2 mile walk on a treadmill that was clean and and in good repair. It was only moderately crowded. The app indicates how crowded it is before you even get there! The men's locker room was clean and warm. I took a long hot shower after my workout in a clean curtained shower stall. The water was HOT and the water pressure was fantastic. Check in consists of scanning an in app QR code. It's quick and easy! They have a large variety of machines and all the ones I looked at were clean. I highly recommend this gym! Membership is $10 a month which I consider a bargain! 5 stars across the board!
