They have been consistently trying to direct debit my account for over a year for club fees and I have called and asked to speak to a manager about this numerous times to no avail. I’m told they will call me back and no one ever does. I do not live in the state of Florida and wish you would stop trying to debit my account. Update: 1 November 2025; I’ve come to the conclusion that no one really gives a damn at this location. Today it was 43 degrees outside. Why was it colder in the gym than outside? Then we just blame it on corporate? What an absolute joke. I left because my arthritis couldn’t stand to workout and be as cold as I was.

Update: 1 October 2025; would appear someone super glue the toilets back down or simply tightened the bolts…I mean why fixed it right when you can fix it for free. One guy didn’t even know what a flat head was.

Faculty and facility is average at best. The bathrooms and level of cleanliness is absolutely atrocious and needs to be addressed. It's gotten to a point where I bring my own toilet paper in my gym bag because who knows if they have stocked it up. Toilets have been loose and leaking for months. I’ve mentioned it for months. The bathroom is disgusting.

To think, these are the same people asking for more money but do absolutely nothing but eat fast food and play on their phones behind the desk.

Made this my home gym a few months ago. When I first started out a lot of the equipment was out of order took almost a month for items to get back up and running. Overall the gym is big, a lot of equipment to where you don't have to wait around just hope that person isn't texting/scrolling for 10 mins before their next rep!! Super aggravating! Past couple weeks there's been some standing water in a workout area I start my workouts at 5am and at 6am a personal trainer who just came into work took the initiative to clean up that huge water spill. While there were employees sitting at the front desk on their phones. Today at 5 am yet again there were 2 water spills that have been there before I showed up. Mind you they have employees there no one did a walk through within that whole hour and it did not get cleaned. Two spill hazards that could have been possibly caused an injury if someone wasn't watching and they slipped. I enjoy this gym I go 5x a week. However, the employees need to be more attentive even in the early mornings.

The gym itself was clean, well air-conditioned, and well maintained and if it weren't for the associate (Sarah) working the front desk, I would have given this location a full 5 stars. She was disrespectful to say the least, answering my partner and I's questions in a sarcastic, snarky tone. I had come as a guest with the intention of feeling out the gym while considering a joint membership but likely won't return as a result of her frankly unprofessional and rude behavior. I will be calling the manager to submit a formal complaint promptly and suggest anyone thinking of visiting this location to reconsider.

If you're a TRUCK DRIVER do not go to that place. I parked my truck in the back of the building away from everything, completely out of sight, in the middle of the night. I went inside for a quick workout when i came back out, i found my truck been booted. They charged $575 plus a 4% if you're paying with a debit card. We truck drivers are humans too. I understand PF may not own the property but I'm sure you guys do have a voice and should speak for us in that matter. I've been to many PF all across the country and this is the only PF that allows this to happen. The agent mentioned to me that PF signed off on this so you guys are well aware of this situation yet allows it to happen and it's a shame.

I enjoy the Normandy location. I started my journey 4 years ago here and majority of the staff are awesome. Christine has always been cheerful, patient, and social anytime I see her helping customers coming, going, and even needing information or signing up for a new membership. Overall, the staff is great. Normandy location could used the long stand up ab crunch piece of equipment that the Blanding Cedar Hills location has. I don't like this location because the staff are rude. I prefer Dunn Ave or Norwood at least they greet you when you come into the establishment. The first time I came to this location which was my first impression of this gym the guy at the desk looked at us like we were beneath him and didn't bother to speak. Then today I went back against my better judgment and the girl with the short blonde hair didn't greet us and when I greeted her she didn't want to open her mouth. They need to train the people at this gym if they are going to be the first people you see. The energy is all bad.

Really large, nice location. There are plenty of machines and stations to go around, so I imagine one rarely has to wait to do a specific exercise unless some clown loiters in a seat messing with their phone. The shower suites are large, with an area to undress before stepping into the shower itself. On my visit, the third shower wasn't working. Oh well, this didn't affect my workout, nor did it hinder my enjoyment of this location.

Price is good. However equipment is poorly maintained. Have filled out numerous "surveys" how many pieces of equipment handles, counters are broken for months and no response from management. Beautiful gym. The staff and manager refuse to answer the phone while the manager is there. I’ve been asking for WEEKS to get a late fee waived so I can pay my past due balance. No manager has made an effort to contact me either. I don’t live in Jax but made this my home gym during a very extended visit. I can’t cancel my membership or switch my home gym back until I pay the fee. Even if the manager said no to waiving the fee, it is so unprofessional to be so impossible to reach and to not get in contact with members who have questions for you. If you need the manager, go in person because they will absolutely not answer that phone. I can’t go in person because I don’t reside in Jax. I want to cancel. I don’t want to be forced to pay that annual fee either since this is the type of experience planet fitness gives its members. I just would like to cancel and get these fees sorted out.

I’m a truck driver and I have the black card. I used the planet fitness gym and I didn’t have a trailer just my truck. I got booted and charged $600 dollars to take the boot off the truck. The gym is 24 hours … I didn’t spend more than 4 hours there before I got booted. This is the only planet fitness I’ve had a problem at. Will not be returning there and will cancel my planet fitness membership if this is not made right one way or another.

Does Planet Fitness prioritize providing good customer service to its customers or is that something that doesn’t matter at this Company?

If so then I highly recommend Corporate to please teach the employees at the Normandy location in Jacksonville, FL, especially Christina & John how to atleast provide basic customer service, problem solving skills, and empathy towards your customers.
The fact that I’m paying planet fitness and on more than 1 occasion planet fitness employees handled me the way Christina and John did is absolutely ridiculous. This is a negative reflection on this gym and Planet fitness as a whole.

I decided to stop here even though I usually go to a different one. I thought because they were larger they would be better at this location but in this case bigger is not better. A lot of the machines are rickety and the machines that target same areas that I needed were so far apart I had to ask someone where the other thigh machines were because the inner/outer thigh machines were all the way in the back, but the leg presses were in other locations. They did not have the ab machine that I use at the other location which you can push with your arms locked straight because I have carpal tunnel. People leave their stuff on the machines and don't come back for a while, like are they not trying to let others use it? Idk, but I am disabled and I go to the gym because it helps to be able to work out while sitting, so having to walk all the way to the back to use a different thigh machine made it hard for me to rotate machines between sets. If you have a hard time walking due to foot or knee pain you might want to go to another location.

I just want to make it clear that this gym is one of the best and with the latest innovations they have managed to captivate the attention of the members to another level. Today I talk to several of my gymmates and we all agree that this change gives it new encouragement, that is both to the eye and to the training. it feels better the look of the gym which stimulates one to want to train more and commit to training. Something that when asked on the street you are proud to tell your friends that this is your Gym and you proudly recommend it. another large part of this gym is the staff, they do a good job, but I must mention one of the employees, JAE, is a person who is willing to listen to one as a member and one of those who sees everywhere cleaning collecting, organizing so that this is a pleasant place.

how is it that an establishment of this caliber has showers that run ICE cold during the winter months? staff claims that the showers are always this cold this time of year, however i don't recall freezing showers last winter. something tells me there's more going on here because i haven't even had a warm shower at this location in several weeks.

They really need a hamstring machine and new equipment in general. Everything is really dated and kind of dirty and falling apart. It's actually kind of dangerous. Handles are cracked or missing on machines, weights missing, hamstring machines don't even work. Have a lay down hamstring machine and where's the ab machine that you lift yourself up on? For anyone who has an issue with the hot water in the male showers, it is due to the distance from the boiler. Turn the water on, find a mirror, and see if you're making gains. About 5 minutes. Due to the water saver in the shower faucet, it takes time to clear the cold water in the pipe between the boiler and the faucet

I have been working out for 10+ years and have been to many gyms all over Jacksonville. This location has very friendly staff, gym is always clean & organized and never very busy. Tried to work out when the traffic was not too bad on the app, it was the lowest on the meter to say how many people were there, and when I went the men were 'reserving' the machines with their personal belongings left on them while they used different machines for the entirety of the time they were in the gym. I walked past the front desk and saw that another man was also complaining and said something to which the ladies replied "not all the men" were doing it. Apparently it's ok if some of them do it. It made for an incomplete workout in the time I had available and I left frustrated and nothing was resolved. I tried to call to speak to the manager to let them know it was happening but they didn't answer and their answering machine is full and not accepting messages. Overall, low quality customer service experience.

Planet Fitness on Normandy Boulevard is fantastic! The staff is super friendly, and there’s a great selection of machines so you rarely have to wait. I’ve really enjoyed coming to this gym, but today left me feeling really disappointed. Being a Black Card member has always felt like a great perk—until now. I recently switched banks and forgot to update my payment info, so my payment was late. I contacted Planet Fitness, and they assured me my account was active, and I could still use the gym. However, an older white employee insisted that I couldn’t work out because my payment was more than a day late.

What hurt the most was that I saw an older white couple come in with the same issue, and she let them work out without any problem. When I spoke to the GM, I was told the staff can decide whether to allow someone to work out under these circumstances. I just don’t understand why I was denied, while others in the same situation were allowed.

It’s really disheartening to feel like I wasn’t treated fairly, especially when Planet Fitness has a non-discrimination policy. I’ve always loved this gym, but today, I left feeling really sad and unwelcome.
