My husband and I are visiting from out of town. We we're at this location last week. We travel often and have been to 50+ different PFs. Yes, it's small, that can be overcome. However, they haven't. Old equipment can be overcome if maintained. They don't maintain equipment, music is blasting in Black Card area, and too loud in main gym. No blinds for sunlight, etc...

Update on 11.28.24 11:09am. 1. The music is loud and obnoxious. I want to listen to what's on my headphone and not this invasive to my ears irritating noise.

2. I realized the air quality isn't great. It's stuffy and dusty. Makes my nose stuffy. Harder to workout. I don't know if they clean the air docks or replace their filters. Some planet fitness i go to the air quality is better. Some worst. Changed from from 4 to 3 stars because of these two issues as my first time actually working out here and not just showering today!

I disliked the loud music. I like listening to my own stuff and relaxing when taking a shower.

Now what I did like that gave it a solid 4 star is the following:

1. Great location to go after late at night after work.

2. Friendly staff

3. Clean and not overbearing with chemical smells of the cleaning products

4. Good air quality circulation

5. Shower is spacious, good water pressure to be able to clean myself properly. Good hot water temperature, however once the water gets cool am not sure if it takes a while for to get hot again if that's what I want. Also two hooks to hang what I need

6. Spacious private changing/dressing room area with a chair and hooks

It left a good impression on me to come back another time and workout as well.

This is definitely a better experience for me than other planet fitness I've been to in Jacksonville and around the US.

Thank you to your staff at this location and for the owner for being thoughtful on what the members would appreciate.

This is probably the nicest Planet Fitness location I’ve been to. Special shout out to the employee who was cleaning the women’s bathroom around 1am when Ieft a few hours ago! She was using some serious elbow grease to get those shower stalls cleaned. As someone who uses the showers, I really appreciate the dedication to cleanliness!! She definitely deserves to be paid more

The front desk staff are extremely rude. I always carry an extra pair of shoes for the gym as I prefer to walk in crocs and every time I come in they greet me "do you have an extra pair of shoes" instead of "hello how are you?". Or at least waiting to see if I have an extra pair. If I'm coming in with a gym bag common sense should tell you I have a change of clothes.

I love this location and the fabulous staff that care deeply about the customer experience. There is not an age group they don’t like and help improve your experience by suggesting machines or routines that might work better for you. I deeply appreciate the staff and other members chatting up my 96 year old dad who still works out 3-4 times a week. His nickname is Ironman.

I was truly disappointed with the experience at this Planet Fitness location. I’m visiting the city with my friend, who is a Black Card member. In many other locations, we’ve always been welcomed and allowed to use the facilities without any issues — that’s part of the reason she chose the Black Card membership.

But at this location, the atmosphere felt completely different. The staff member, Isabela, greeted us with a cold and distant attitude. It honestly felt like she didn’t want to be there, and her energy reflected that. There was no effort to explain things kindly or make us feel welcome, which really stood out compared to other Planet Fitness gyms we’ve visited.

It’s disappointing to see this kind of customer service, especially at a place that promotes itself as friendly and inclusive. Also, the specific rule enforced here regarding Black Card access seems inconsistent with the usual Planet Fitness standards.

We left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome — not the experience we were expecting at all.

I use this location twice a week, and over the past month, Saturdays have been an issue. On 6 /7 there was actually someone in the Black Card lounge eating their dinner in the chairs provided and making a mess on the table between the chairs. There appeared to be people with several bags piled in places throughout the front instead of in the locker room. Very disappointed in the way the staff member on duty handled the guests if they were even members.

So I have been going to this location for 2 months and have never had an issue until a few days ago! I guess he is the AGM his name is Mirza and I have no idea how he got that position because he was so rude and unprofessional!! I will be reporting him to the corporate office and switching my home gym because I will not be paying for a monthly membership and treated the way he treated me!! While I was walking out the door I asked for his name and the corporate office number he told me to find it online and mumbled under his breath while I was walking out with my child " oh no am I gonna get fired" clearly he is a child and that definitely shows by his actions

For the fifth time I have seen judgement against people at this gym and it is with great sadness that I give for the first time in as long as I can remember the lowest score I can give. Not only does this gym repeatedly charge you after you end your membership but they charge you at every location as well as data mine through their app. Stay off their WiFi or you might be next!!!!!

I like this place. It's small but never really crowded. Everyone is really nice here, including staff. Lots of young guys and girls here my age (20-24) that I've made friends with and see regularly.
UPDATE: I took advantage of the free trainer here at the Promenade location. He's funny and super helpful. I can't believe I just now started using a trainer! Not all locations have this by the way..

Fine gym, if you're there to sit at a machine and play on your phone for 10 minutes, do a rep, then back on your phone for 10 minutes, preventing others who are serious about their workouts from using the machine. I'm not there for that and am looking for a gym where that's not tolerated. I wish the staff could be trained to address that issue, it's just getting worse.

I want to praise Isabella for helping me experience a welcoming environment. This location was nice and clean and the staff actually helped with the way the machines work felt like can actually enjoy coming on a daily basis. From the moment we walked in, there was attitude. I spoke to the manager, TWICE and she barely spoke, so I wished her an amazing day. She was still dry. We started to work out, and were approached by the manager and her sidekick, explaining that we could not record other customers, we only recorded ourselves, as we do at our normal location. I showed her the video, to prove that no one else was recorded. I guess we weren’t allowed to actually enjoy our workout. We will go to any location but this one in the future.

I recently visited this gym location, which has excellent facilities. However, my experience was overshadowed by subpar customer service from the front desk staff.

Upon arrival, I struggled to get their attention due to distraction. As a deaf individual, I had to tap on the counter to be noticed. Despite explaining my needs, I received an inattentive and unprofessional response.

The manager's follow-up call to address my concerns was cut short when they hung up on me without resolution or a callback.

In contrast to other gym locations I've visited, this front desk lacked:
– Disability awareness
– Customer service
– Professionalism

Disappointing and embarrassing for that location. I will not return.

I don't recommend anyone to go here! After my many years of experience visiting Planet Fitness in all states, this is perhaps my worst experience! There is no paper or antiseptic in the study areas, there are empty antiseptic bottles, and visitors’ water bottles are lying around everywhere! In the area where the dumbbells are located, the floor is full of holes and sealed with tape!!! The staff at the counter is playing on the phone, paper and garbage are lying everywhere! In the center of the hall there is a bucket into which water is dripping from the leaky roof! During the 2 hours of my visit, the staff never showed up in the room to control and clean! I think they treat work like it's their last day open! Having read the previous reviews, I think that the management is simply not interested in the opinions of visitors, since everything I said has already been written before me, there is no reaction from the manager!!! I suffered psychological trauma🤦‍♂️

Great amout of machines, only negative thing is that, you actually get to be judged by the employees, could not even laugh or make any noise, ‘“keep it quiet or get out.” Furthermore, disappointing behavior for a gym where No Judgement is in front of you almost every wall, not everyone is happy doing 190 or 250 pounds in leg abductors, or 75 pounds in military shoulder press. Known for banning most of the currents influencers cuz small things, should be considering to follow up a bigger complaint.

It was my first time of being in a gym EVER!!!! Menopause, covid and back surgery just made way out of shape. I joined online and went to the store. The associate Bree took very good care of me . explained the all what I had access to with my membership and gave me a tour of the facilities. She was familiar with the back surgery I had asked if I still was under limitations and explained the machines I could use and what not until cleared. I was very happy with my first experience :)
8/10/24- been going to another PF came back to this one. The showers have decent hot water but the shower curtain didn't even even touch the walls so when you turned the water on it fluttered all over the place otherwise a good experience

The Planet Fitness 8595 Beach Blvd is hot and small. I am not sure why this gym is so small compared to the one on Dunn Ave, Norwood and Old St.Augustine Rd. There is so much foot traffic and it seems the employees cannot keep up. The restrooms are usually unkempt, the paper towel dispenser are often empty. The fans on the treadmills do not work. This gym also does not have as much equipment. Also, it would not hurt to turn the ac down to cool the place down, that would really accommodate all the bodies in the vicinity. There's also the leak in the ceiling that has been there for years. This place needs major upgrades.

April 6 2024. : I caught ringworm fungus from this gym. It's highly contagious and spreads fast. I have reported to the gym manager as of April 29 2024 . I work from home and the gym is the only place I visit besides beach walks. Please increase the the cleaning of your machines and the sprays cleaners needs to be stronger. I recommend you take your own disinfectant at this time .

This gym definitely fits my needs. I love the flexibility of it being open 24 hours. There's a variety of equipment and cardio machines. I have been a member of Planet Fitness for 15 years. I live in Daytona Beach, work in Jacksonville, and I have probably been to every Planet Fitness there is between the 2. I can honestly say I love this particular location the best! First and most important, the customer service exceeds every expectation anyone could ever have. I am always greeted with smiles, and “Hello Ms. Jen!” Mikey and Jamel are usually the ones working, and they make me feel like the queen of the universe every time I walk in! They definitely go above and beyond to make the guest feel welcomed, and I just wanted to publicly say Thank you. I hope someone from corporate sees this and at the least, Reaches out to them and thank them for the wonderful job they’re doing representing this company. Good employees are hard to find, and exceptional employees are very rare, and should be rewarded.

Second of all, this gym is always clean, and that includes the bathrooms. They are always clean and well stocked.

If someone is reading this, looking for the best gym to join, this is the one! Great customer service, clean, very affordable, a lot of different equipment, and plenty to choose from.

I wanted to cancel my membership so I called this morning they said you have to come in person so I drive a hour and a half to get there and get told the computer is not working today come back tomorrow...Are you kidding me. I left a message for the manager and I am driving the 90 minutes home very unhappy.
I don't recommend signing up for anything you can't cancel on the app or phone, it's just not worth the headache
