I cancelled my membership today because the new machines are terrible. The combined abductor/adductor machine actually caused damage to my tissue. That's it for me.
Earlier post: Now they've replaced the various types of ellipticals with all the same type, which I can't use. Why couldn't they have left a couple of the other types since they work a lot differently? Overhead fan still broken after 3 months.
This is for the Melbourne, Florida, location, though I assume all locations are run the same. The air conditioning has been broken for 4 months of the 7 months that I've been a member. For 3 months they said parts were on order, then they said the part didn't work. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because it's an old building, but now one of the only two big fans over the main machine area has been broken for a month. They turned it off because it was squeaking. How long does it take to get someone to fix a fan??? It makes a huge difference in working out when the air doesn't work and neither does the fan. (*The fan was replaced after 6 months.*) They do keep their fitness equipment repaired as far as I can tell and the place is clean.

So you have to check out the new equipment at this gym! State of the art matrix power racks for squats and bar lifts. They also added an updated trx room with bands and kettlebells and cable machines. Gym is always clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Go talk with Genesis the mgr he is awesome!

I want to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service I received at the Planet Fitness located on N. Apollo Blvd in Melbourne, FL.

While I am a member of the Rockledge, FL location, this was my first time attending any gym. When I asked the manager at the Rockledge facility for some workout guidance, he informed me that they currently do not have a formal trainer but kindly recommended I reach out to Ms. Casey Holland at the Melbourne location to schedule a “Design Your Own Program” session.

Ms. Holland created a detailed and personalized workout plan for me within a week. Although the instructions she provided were thorough, I learn best visually and requested a second meeting to go through the exercises in person. She was extremely kind and patient as she walked me through each machine and explained how to properly perform every workout. Her professionalism, knowledge, and respectful demeanor truly made a difference in my fitness journey.

As an engineer, I have dedicated many years to advancing my career through hard work and long hours. I’ve now reached a point in my life where I am choosing to prioritize my health. Incorporating regular workouts and healthy nutrition into my routine is now a top priority, and I am grateful to have had such a positive and encouraging start thanks to Ms. Holland.

I highly recommend the Melbourne Planet Fitness location because of her exceptional support. Additionally, the facility itself is very clean and well-maintained, with all equipment in excellent condition.

Thank you to Ms. Holland and the entire Melbourne team for making my first gym experience such a welcoming and motivating one.

I recently visited the Planet Fitness in Melbourne, Florida, and had an incredibly disappointing experience. I arrived 16 minutes before their posted closing time, intending to take a quick shower after a long day of work far from home. The staff member at the counter initially informed me that they couldn’t allow anyone in within 15 minutes of closing. While I understand policies are in place for a reason, I explained that I wasn’t there to work out—just to shower—and would be in and out in under 10 minutes.

After some back-and-forth, during which I pointed out that I had arrived before the 15-minute cutoff, the staff member reluctantly allowed me in but warned me that if I stayed longer than 10 minutes, they would call the police. This threat was completely unnecessary and outrageous, especially considering I am a member in good standing. I managed to shower and leave with five minutes to spare before closing, yet there were still other members inside changing and showering.

The staff member’s behavior was rude, unaccommodating, and unsympathetic. This level of customer service is unacceptable, and the threat to involve law enforcement over such a trivial matter was beyond comprehension. I hope Planet Fitness addresses this issue to ensure other members don’t face similar treatment.

I've been wanting to add a review for a while, so here it is. This place is ok. Overall the cleanliness is good, but for some reason there is only one bottle of cleaning solution at every station now. After coming here for almost four years, they are slowly updating the equipment. The staff is nice and the manager took care of a lady who was verbally attacking the women in the women's locker room often. However, this palce is open 24 hours at least 5 days a week, and two times so far I have walked into the bathroom stalls and most of the stalls had completely no toilet paper so the night person isn't doing their job because there is absolutely no need for that. Sitting in a stall with no toilet paper is absolutely frustrating! And because I opened my mouth about it and complained about them being opened for 24 hours and no toilet paper, Marce asked for my name to more than likely to add a horrible note to my account. This morning I had to sit on three toilets after I peed in the first one before I got toilet paper! On on top of this, the ac does not work most of the days, especially when it is hot out.

The staff there are absolutely rude.. They get annoyed if you ask them questions about your membership or how things work online.. After my first day of working out, i was approached by the manager and told how I should breathe or how I should grunt.. No AC for months during the summer. They added small portable AC units thinking they could cool the entire building, what a joke. Parking lot always has sketchy people sitting in broken down cars, bathrooms smell awful, water always dripping somewhere from ceiling…it’s just not good. If you are looking for bare minimum and not safe, this is the gym for you.

Staff is nice. Management is clearly lacking ability to maintain facilities.

Update: the Planet Fitness social team reaches out once you make a comment and says they can support you if you just email them. I did just that and they just say to speak with club manager. Essentially, they do nothing to help and ask you to deal with it.

I love Planet Fitness. The gym offers a lot of great equipment for just 11 bucks a month. The front desk has awesome people working. Genesis is fantastic and always super friendly. Great facility to workout in if you don't like busy gyms! Many of the treadmills either didn't work or the monitors were out of order. Unlike my home gym where staff greet you upon check in and after, the staff seemed disinterested and not attentive to guests. Yesterday it was a horrible experience at this part of Planet Fitness. All of it started from scan ID. He asked one of friend for Credit Information. He just asked was last month's payment go through? or any other issues with my payment? as he said no problem with the payment so my friend refused to give him card details. After that, that counter guy started targeting him. While lifting 70 pound and put it back on the floor it did little bit sound May be. Then he came to my friend straight, like he was waiting for that. He started arguing with my friend. While arguing going on, my friend asked him if he could lift 70lb and put it back on the floor without any sound then he would accept his fault. but that guy refused to do that because he also knew that It's impossible. When he failed on debate all of a sudden he called a Police! LOL. He threatened him for giving trans passing. I've been connected with Planet Fitness more than 1 year. I've also bring all of my friends here so that we can do some chill while doing exercise. Maybe It's going to end all of our Journey with Planet Fitness.

BEFORE YOU BUY! Please be aware that although you may sign up online or over the phone you cannot cancel online or over the phone. Even if you call to cancel and they say "yes it's done" don't believe them. Also, they do not send bills or receipts they only draft the money without notification of any kind. They do not notify of the upcoming annual fee or renewal that happens automatically, they just take it even if you haven't been there in over 10 months, have only gone half a dozen times, and have requested to cancel on multiple occations. ALSO it is a hellscape with very few people that is sticky gross. Plus, they claim tolerance and a "no judgement zone" but have rules against masculinity and a literal flashing siren called the "Lunk Alarm" which is prominently displayed. Stay away from this place, the price isn't worth it even though it's cheap.

When I first walked in I had a hard time breathing. And I still do while cycling because the place feels and smells damp. I think the ac is minimally on and the place needs a deep clean.

8 minutes of working out here i had to leave and decided to switch from 2 stars to 1 star. Its so damp in there and do dirty that I find myself holding my breath and getting a stuffy nose. I couldn't continue my workout.

A planet fitness that is ran well has staff that you can see actively in real time while working out cleaning the place.

You can clearly tell and see its not happening here.

I don't think they are conscious of how disgusting the air quality is. For all I know they have mold in there which is while it triggered me to want to hold my breath and not relax my breathing.

Facility is pretty clean, front desk personnel are nice. Usually isn’t super packed, which is nice because I like to get in and out.

This place is absolutely inept. I stopped by to check it out, got a tour and came back next day to enroll with gym bag. There were 4 employees that directed me to website to enroll. You need checking account info to enroll. I don't carry checkbook.

wasted trip.
