Today ( August 28th 2025) at 5:25pm.

I contact planet fitness over the phone (4:30) stating that my husband tried cancelling his membership over 4 times and it is consistently charging his card. ( now on his third cancelled card due to this gym )

told a worker name LENEXX. He stated to come in and he can personally cancel it and refund us. I was at ease knowing I can finally sort this out over months of trying. at 5:25pm I went into planet fitness in new smyrna beach florida on n. dixie freeway.
Told LENEXX I was the one who called and told him how it’s been super frustrating. He stated he will cancel it and i said perfect. I then asked if i can get a receipt of the refund for my financial advisor ( this charging on numerous card has hit our credit negatively) he stated that he isn’t giving us a refund because in quote “it wasn’t our fault” i then said i’ve been through this issue with my personal membership and they were super helpful .

I then asked if i was about to get a print out of him refusing our request to refund ( i explained in detail what i needed for my financial advisor ) he stated it was possible. After 10 minutes we get the print out. He printed the refund policy and stated in quote “we don’t give refunds if it was your fault”. I was flabbergasted!!

I then stated “okay am i able to get you to sign the bottom of the paper saying you have refused our refund” he then stated in quote “i’m simply not doing that” i said “no problem” and then left.

I am absolutely disappointed on how planet fitness treated us. We’ve been nothing but loyal to this company and because we moved we simply just don’t have the time to go to that gym anymore.
This young man was so incredibly rude rolling his eyes and does not know how to treat customers. I’m hoping you take further action as far as this complaint goes because that young man does not have any manners.

I’ve already emailed you about this situation when it happened and have not got a response so please don’t tell me to reach out when I have tried.

My health insurance covers gym membership. Unfortunately, not PF. However, after going to all of the gyms that are covered, we came back here and paid out of pocket. It is the best facility and staff in the area.

Also Maddy is a good manager. For example, I arrived during a lightning storm. The QR reader was down but she checked my app and let me workout. Hey I’m there to workout… even during a storm. She got it!!! Go Maddy

I want to leave a review about Robert (I think that is his name - bald guy. Rides a motorcycle-). Anyway thank you Planet Fitness for hiring this guy. He is there early in the mornings. He is very helpful and friendly. Zero creeper vibe. He welcomes me. Helps me with the machines. Keeps the place spotless. As a female makes me feel safer because he seems to know what’s going on in the gym- is not distracted or watching his phone etc. (especially when it’s so early in the morning )We have different gyms we could go to - but keep choosing this one because of him. Everything is great except the water fountains. They are often marked "out of order." When they do work, the pressure drops a second or so after pushing the button - like a trick fountain you can never really drink from. Fix the fountains and this location would be an A+.

The front desk staff is always friendly and politely greets me every time. The gym and bathroom are always clean. For the most part, people are thoughtful about wiping down the equipment after they use it. The app is great making check in easy and finding out busy the gym is a snap. There is a good variety of equipment and typically not much of a wait for any machine.

My wife and I joined and my wife wanted to talk to a personal trainer to do everything correctly and get the most out of the experience she was told that the personal trainer had quit and they would have a personal trainer in the next few days a few weeks later they still had not got a personal trainer so we wanted to cancel the membership because that is what they advertised when they realized we were going to cancel they charged us a membership fee and we protested the membership fee and the manager didn’t care and said that the money would not be returned no exceptions very bad customer service so we will never go back to planet fitness

Stretch area for this planet fitness is limited and the best area (360) is small and has a terrible bright light that makes the area unusable for anyone not a robot.
Bathroom is newly dated, showers tight.

This is a great Planet Fitness. one suggestion is to not go during a busy time of you plan to use a bench. They have a limited number by the free weights. There are plenty of cardio pieces as well as machines. There ab/stretching areas and 30-minute areas have plenty of space for people to perform exercises without being on top of each other.

I am a regular gym goer for 25+ years. This is by far the cleanest gym I have been to. It is also intelligently laid out, as far as equipment placement. Staff at this location is very nice, and the members here seem to be here to workout, not chat, text, and take selfies. I had been at LA Fitness in Port Orange for 7 years. LA Fitness is a meat market and not a comfortable clean place to work out. If you want an attachment for a machine, or a mat, or anything...... you have to search the entire gym. If you find it, it is probably torn up.
The entire vibe at PF is friendly and professional.
It is such a relief to have this gym available now.

I originally joined Planet Fitness to work out with my partner, and originally I had not been super interested in the idea of a gym, but my experience today has completely changed my perspective on both gyms and the people who work in them when I joined I somehow ended up in Mattapan, Massachusetts as my home gym and a couple times that I went to the gym. It was fine and then the most recent time I was told I had to change my home location to, this local one so I asked how to do that and the people behind the desk said that I needed to call my “Home gym location” so I did and I was told that I had to have the one I wanted to transfer to do it for me so a couple calls back-and-forth. I was told that I still needed to do stuff that didn’t make any sense so life got in the way, I nearly broke my ankle and only today was able to call and I spoke to Carriana Who after a couple minutes of trying to figure out what was going on was kind enough to call the Mattapan location and try to get it sorted out I had to make a phone call to Walmart, which took me less than 10 minutes and immediately after getting off the phone, I got an email notification that my home location had been transferred to this location. I am so grateful for the team at this planet fitness they went out of their way were extremely kind and I can’t wait to go back and work out. So if you needed a gym recommendation, I cannot recommend this Planet Fitness location, highly enough.

Why is there only 1 set of 8 and 12 pound weights in the entire gym? There’s a huge sign on the wall that says you belong. By not having the appropriate size weights tells me as a woman who lift weights for sculpting, not mass gains, that our needs are not of concern to corporate management (Who i’ve been told, they have full knowledge of the lack of free weight situation.) Which is a shame. I’ve never been in Corporate run gym where they didn’t have at minimum 5 sets of 3,5,8, 10, 12 pound weights for use. It’s a clean gym with too many cardio machines and not enough free weight lifting room for people to actually workout properly unless the gym is practically empty. Disappointing and needs to be redesigned. A good start would be to add lighter dumbbells and more kettlebell sets…

Most judgmental judgment for a zone i've ever seen! Only thing they're not judging is letting men in the woman's room. How are you going to have a lunch alarm and call yourself. This is the first time I've gone tanning in a stand up tanning booth. I'm not sure if I did it correctly as I had no instructions on how to stand to get everything tanned lol my sister told me she dances in the dang booth lmfao. The man that I spoke to on the phone who was at the counter manually put in my information in order to be able to use the tanning booth. I guess normally when you go as a guest you are not supposed to be able to use the spa portion, which includes the tanning beds/booths, the massage chairs, and I didn't get a look at the last thing in that area as I was taking too long to get cleaned up, dried off, and dressed that the gym was closed. The gentleman who had helped us had to come knock on my door to my tanning booth to tell me they are closed lol. I felt so bad because I wasn't paying attention to what time it was and they were closing earlier than normal hours. They gentleman was very kind and not rude about my over staying at all. Very helpful all the way around and I'm going to get myself a membership asap!
