I’ve been going to Planet Fitness for a while now, and overall it’s been a really positive experience. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and I appreciate that it’s not intimidating compared to some other gyms. The equipment is pretty modern and well-maintained, with plenty of cardio machines so I rarely have to wait. The staff is usually helpful and polite, and the place stays fairly clean.

I also like the affordable membership, especially since they offer extras like massage chairs and tanning at certain locations. The only downside is that it can get pretty busy during peak hours, but that’s expected with such a popular gym.

If you’re looking for a no-pressure, budget-friendly place to work out, Planet Fitness is definitely worth it.

The Ives Dairy Avenue I've been member since year 2009/10. The current Members are in consider selfish attitudes.
My request is to take a page from the old School Employees to work around and police the areas a little more..Members do not follow the Equipment use Policy State ( not taken machine to used other equipment)
I've spoken with Staff sent Emails on this matter, we all pay for membership..
Please please take care of this soon rather than later

I went to this Planet Fitness once, and it was enough for me to say "I don't want to come to this one anymore" there was a musty smell throughout the whole gym and the bathrooms were not clean and smelled like sewer water. I don't know what was happening this day but at my other gym in Hialeah there's never a nasty smell nor are the bathrooms ever that dirty. Also some of the areas where you get paper towels and spray, didn't have the spray bottle for you to use. I also feel like the dumbbell's are all over the place... 30lbs by abs area the other 30lbs by the express workout area...

Only been a member for a few weeks and will say that this PF could easily be a 5 star if they made some changes. But the key reason for the 1 star is that we arrived today, on a Saturday May 24, at 7am to locked doors. It is now 8:00 am and we, along with many frustrated others, have finally given up and are leaving after waiting for an hour. It is bad enough to already not open until 7am, but you have to at least open. I do wish you would open at 6am on weekends. Some other suggestions to improve are to get a bench along the wall in the shower area so that we can set out stuff on it. I also wish you would get a second chest fly machine. You do a great job of having 2 of most every machine, but only one fly machine and it is always taken.
I would be happy to change my review on this location, but they are going to have to earn your trust back after today.

My electric scooter was stolen and Planet Fitness doesn't seem to care

I had my electric scooter stolen right outside this Planet Fitness. They cut through the lock, and the area where it was parked has no surveillance cameras. I spoke with one of the managers, and they told me they have no plans to install a camera there.

I’m not the first person this has happened to—and definitely won’t be the last. Bikes and scooters have been stolen multiple times from that same spot, and yet the gym refuses to do anything about it. It honestly makes you wonder if someone on the inside is involved, because I don’t understand how they can be so indifferent and unwilling to make such a simple safety improvement.

If you care about your property, be very cautious—or better yet, avoid this location altogether.

Update to your answer:Yes, I know that Planet Fitness isn’t responsible, and it would be great to follow up with the police, but guess what — that specific location doesn’t have cameras. So how are you supposed to follow up with the police if there aren’t even security cameras to see what happened? No one is saying Planet Fitness is to blame, but they should at least install cameras in that area so that when someone’s things get stolen, they can follow up with the police.

I enjoy working out at this Planet Fitness location, but I’ve noticed an ongoing issue that concerns me. On multiple visits, there have been no paper towels available to wipe down the machines, which is an important part of maintaining a clean and sanitary gym environment. I understand that occasional shortages happen, but this has occurred more than once. I hope management can address this to ensure members have what they need to keep the equipment clean for everyone. Planet fitness is a lower budget gym that feels more upscale since about 2 years ago. My only complaint is the equipment diversification as many of the machines cater mainly to those looking to do cardio in some form of fashion. I personally prefer powerlifting and Olympic machines and wish there was just a better balance as those machines seem to be in high demand.
Staff are curious, knowledgeable and helpful.
Location is always clean unlike my previous gym equipment is always in working order.

Let me start by saying this is one of the cleanest, friendliest gyms I’ve ever been to — even after what I put them through.

The workout was great. I crushed my sets, felt unstoppable, and then… I made the rookie mistake of having a protein shake and a double espresso before hitting the treadmill. Fast forward to me urgently power-walking to the locker room bathroom like my life depended on it.

That’s when disaster struck. I’ll spare you the messy details, but let’s just say I single-handedly defeated the Planet Fitness plumbing system. The toilet? Not surviving that round. Panic washed over me as I stared at the mess, contemplating fleeing the scene entirely.

But I couldn’t just leave it. So, in my shame, I did the only thing my anxiety-ridden brain could think of — I called the front desk on my phone from inside the stall.

Through my whispered panic, the manager, Lisa, was an absolute legend. She didn’t laugh, didn’t judge, and most importantly, didn’t make me feel like a terrible human being. Instead, she reassured me in the most soothing tone:

“It’s okay, it happens to the best of us. I’ve got this covered — don’t even stress about it.”

I stayed hidden in the locker room until I was sure the coast was clear, and when I finally came out, Lisa gave me a friendly smile like we were just talking about the weather. I’ll never forget that kindness in my darkest gym hour.

Long story short — Planet Fitness not only helps you crush your fitness goals but also handles your plumbing disasters with dignity and professionalism. 10/10 recommend.
