I transferred from Zone which cost twice the amount for half the benefits and was always soooooooo busy even at 5am. Planet Fitness is amazing. Half the price at $25 a month and sooooooo many benefits (hydromassage, tanning, body enhancement, red light therapy, bring a friend everytime and more)!!! Jason, manager, awesome guy, super friendly and personable and very knowledgeable on every piece of equipment in that gym even total body enhancement. Convinced/confirmed to my mom right then that Black Card membership was worth it. She signed up today after coming as my guest 3x this week. Keep it up guys!!! Yall rock ❤️

I can appreciate a clean gym! I can also appreciate employees who give it their all like Nicki in the early morning shift( 3am) She’s always working hard, something’s getting cleaned. One staff member Michael is usually working the desk and will not even acknowledge me or male guests gravitating toward some girls ignoring others. Very strange energy from him. I've come as a plus one with family members who are pass holders and it's been pretty good every time. Everyone also working out were respectful, most don't even talk to you because they're in their own zone focus on themselves which is great if you're not the extroverted type and prefer to come alone or just not be bothered. The only bad thing I've experienced were both times in the women's locker room. The female staff member would come in to clean, which is great, but just as myself or my sister were about to shower after a workout she'd say if we can wait for a man to come sweep in the locker room and then shower. Both times it was obvious we were going to shower but she didn't say anything either time until we were walking up to or already getting in the shower. The second time they had a sign for other people entering that said the bathroom was closed for 30 mind for cleaning which is great, but she didn't relay this information to us who were already in the bathroom, which didn't make sense to either of us so the second time it happened we just left.

People is circuit room for own purpose and won't move from equipment so you can do a full workout. Everyone is kind, gotten lots of advice as a beginner with my friend. I didn’t have enough on my card for a Gatorade and the guy at the desk bought it for me. I always feel like it’s a safe environment. They have plenty of cardio and weightlifting machines but I wish they had more of the more niche machines (such as the ab twists)

Dear General manager
I am a Black Card member at your Planet Fitness location on Maricamp Road, and I wanted to bring to your attention some concerns I have experienced during my recent visits.

One of the key reasons I chose to join Planet Fitness was to have a welcoming environment where I could relax, enjoy my workouts, and take full advantage of the amenities offered to Black Card members. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have not met those expectations.

In the Black Card area, I have noticed a persistent and unpleasant odor coming from the massage and hydro beds. The smell is moldy and overwhelming, making it difficult to enjoy these amenities. I was informed that the water in the hydro bed might need to be changed, which I believe should be addressed promptly to ensure the equipment is sanitary and pleasant to use.

Additionally, I observed that the red light therapy machine has approximately six bulbs that appear to be blown. The lights are now a faint pink rather than the deep red they should be, which diminishes the effectiveness of the therapy. Having visited another Planet Fitness location, I noticed a significant difference in the maintenance and quality of equipment.

Another issue I’ve encountered occurs during weekend visits when staff members are often not present at the front desk. On several occasions, I waited 15 to 20 minutes to access the massage chairs because there was no staff available to assist. Without a kiosk or password entry option, members are unable to use the amenities they are paying for. I have also witnessed other members leave the facility in frustration, unable to access the tanning beds for the same reason.

I am sharing this feedback with the hope that these issues can be addressed promptly. As a paying member, I believe it is reasonable to expect a clean, functional, and well-staffed environment. I truly enjoy being a part of the Planet Fitness community, and I trust that you will take the necessary steps to improve these aspects of the facility.

It’s frustrating this location is advertised as “Open 24 Hours” on their sign & the large billboard directly across the street on Maricamp… Imagine my surprise when I showed up to find them closed at 7pm. Read closely and you’ll find they actually aren’t open 24hrs. Also, their music here is laughably TERRIBLE for a gym. Literally heard every 2010 depressing Taylor Swift song in one gym session. Way to pump up gym goers LOL

Disappointed with Planet Fitness Experience

I signed up with Planet Fitness expecting a good gym experience, but unfortunately, it hasn’t met my expectations.

Firstly, the equipment is often crowded or not in the best condition. Machines are frequently out of order, and it seems like it takes a while for them to get repaired. The gym can be overcrowded at peak hours, and there’s hardly enough space to comfortably complete a workout without feeling cramped.

The “no judgment” policy sounds great in theory, but it’s not always enforced by staff. I’ve noticed some uncomfortable stares and interactions with other gym-goers, and it didn’t feel like a very supportive environment.

Another issue is the cleanliness. The gym could definitely use more attention in terms of hygiene, especially around the locker rooms and shower areas. It’s disappointing, especially since I expect these areas to be maintained regularly.

Overall, Planet Fitness didn’t live up to the hype for me. There are other gyms that offer better equipment, a cleaner environment, and a more supportive community. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make improvements.

Won't come back here unless the main one is closed. There's barley any equipment. The bathrooms also have mold and trash in them and the employees walked right by it. People here are rude (customers and workers), everyone is nasty that comes in here. My biggest issue with this scam of a gym is when I paused my account for 2 months and forgot to repause it, they charged me $45 without sending an email or warning at all that charge would happen. Wouldn’t have cared so much if it was the $20 and change like it was before it paused, but there was absolutely no reason for it to be $45 without them letting you know that would happen. Then they sent me an email that said my document was attached, nothing else. No document or any information as to what document they were talking about. I can call over the phone to pause my account, but in order to shut it down I have to physically be there or print out a paper to mail to them. This place makes no sense. Also, this place is just very dirty all around.

I really want to like this location because it is convenient for me. However, I just dont. All the machines feel very close together and the layout of the weight machines doesnt make sense. The temperature here feels warmer than other PF's I've been to, but I can make my peace with that. However, it also feels extremely stuffy and that is what makes it uncomfortable. The biggest issue I have with this location is the restroom/locker room. It is very outdated. There are no changing rooms or stalls like most PF's have, only tiny bathroom stalls which offer little privacy because you can see right through the large gaps in the stalls. The bathroom and locker room have looked and smelled dirty every time I have been here. I've been to several PF locations and this is not the standard that I am used to. It's worth driving a little further to the other Ocala location.

Been a member for over a year here. Sick and tired of how HOT the inside is most of the time. Even the ceiling fans are spinning slow so no circulation there. Cables on the machines are worn out, so nothing feels smooth, feels like someone stuck gravel in there. Also was not looking forward to another summer vacation where school students come in for free and hog all the equipment while talking to their friends and texting. Tanning beds are filthy! Management has let this place go big time! Glad I’m just a guest now, I’m at The Zone and absolutely love it! I’ll spend the extra money for a better gym atmosphere and equipment.
