I work out both at this planet fitness as well as at my personal trainers gym. I travel quite a bit for work so I have used a couple different Planet fitness facilities. This location has been by far my favorite. I work out here 3 to 4 times a week, there’s almost always enough machines- sometimes I have to wait but that’s expected and not a big deal, especially because I usually go around peak times. They just underwent a renovation so they have an majority all new machines. The facility is always very clean for the most part. The only issue with this location is that parking can be tough during peak times. There’s really nothing they can do about that as they share the parking lot with other businesses and I always do find parking- it’s just not a huge lot for all the businesses in there. But I would definitely recommend this location to others and have brought friends with me before and they’ve all enjoyed it. The staff is also incredibly friendly and helpful.

After a year of consistently using Planet Fitness in Ocoee, I feel it's time to share an informative review. The club recently completed renovations, resulting in a cleaner and brighter atmosphere. During the closure, I had the opportunity to explore other nearby clubs and compare their benefits.

The Planet Fitness location in Apopka stands out with a five-star rating; however, it takes me 20 minutes to reach there instead of the 10 minutes to Ocoee, making it less convenient for my schedule, as I prefer to attend on my days off.

While Ocoee’s facility lacks some promised equipment, these minor issues could be easily addressed. Additionally, the Ocoee location has limited space, fewer machines, and television placements, with ESPN—the primary sports channel—positioned in the furthest corner, which impacts my workout experience. According to the staff, they have no control over these arrangements, resulting in shorter workouts for me.

Due to these concerns, I am considering switching my home club for a better overall experience.

After who knows how much money and being closed down for awhile for a "remodel" they finally open and it's a serious major let down. For 1 it stinks like chemicals, 2 they got rid of almost all the mirrors, almost all the paper towel dispensers and almost all of the cable machine accessories like grips etc are missing too. Also alot of things have dust and dirt all over it including the new clock which is visibly filthy and just laziness to not wipe it off. They rearranged the gym and alot makes 0 sense like moving 2 of the 4 sided cable machines over to the smith machine area, want to do a seated row? Gotta walk to the treadmills because for some reason theres machines over there now XD. And 1 of the worst things is after all this hype and all the other PF stores are getting free weights and new equipment they literally got nothing. 90% is all the same old worn out equipment with really the only new thing being a rope pull area. Add that they somehow now have even fewer benches by the dumbbells not to mention, the nonexistent mirrors as I said. Whoever decided to rearrange the equipment isn't the smartest and leaves tons of wasted space. So really we got nothing new. Nobody cares about the spa remodeled they hyped so hard, we want newer/modern equipment and the stuff other stores are getting. Not a simple paint job.

Been a member so long I can’t even remember when I signed up. Clean gym, has all I need . The only thing I wish they had an extra floor leg press machine and no cell phones while using machines. Cell phone use has become a big issue in gyms and gyms have not caught up to it yet..

An employee that goes by the name Jay, was extremely rude, demands things when you’re trying to comply and ask questions, and hangs up the phone when any problem comes up. Bad temper issues. My mother a 67 year old was just asking questions and she was yelling at her then hung up twice then acted like the call got disconnected. The worst employee we have ever encountered in our whole life. This is a prime example on why people shame planet fitness as a gym in general.

Yeah, this Planet Fitness is not the best run by some interesting people w with no attention to detail, who don’t really listen. I had multiple issues with the gym not taking my payment out… when the money is in there, but then charging me a fee. Also, I’ve called several times to speak with the manager, and the manager is hardly ever there and then the staff aloof they don’t know how to notate properly, or properly pass along messages accurately. They are not properly trained, but I’m stuck honestly wish I could switch my membership. I’m just tired of the lack Leicester customer service. I have to deal with. I’m better off working out at home.

For the value, location, size and lack of being packed you can’t beat this planet fitness. It is always clean and there is a lack of any odors. The machines all work and are in great shape. The staff is super friendly. I see some people complaining on here but I have had zero issues. The parking lot is not huge and I can see that being a problem but I usually come everyday at 845am and it is never busy. I came on a Saturday and there was barely anyone there. It is larger inside than it looks. Full disclosure I have never used the showers but the bathrooms are always clean when I go in there. Love the big ass fans and the amount of air they move. Some women may think it is cold in there but I feel it is about perfect. I consistently use the aqua beds and love that option after a long workout. The signup was clear and easy and the check in process is quick and seamless. I bring a guest a lot and they have never given me or my guest a hard time or pressured them to sigh up for anything. Good spot. Glad I found it.

The parking lot is extremely small and shared by multiple businesses. Very limited parking during busy hours, and even during the day on a Monday around 1:00 p.m.. parking lot is not RV or 18-wheeler friendly.
Numerous staff working, the 2 hours we were here. Here only one person walked around and was attempting to clean. Stash should be walking around continuously and cleaning. This is a medium-sized facility that is very dark inside with different type of lighting from fluorescent to LED, black ceilings which make it really dark inside.
The cardio area is well stocked, the machine area has all the old style machines in there but they all still function well.
The men's and women's bathroom are filthy, the same trash on the floor from 2 hours ago when I first walked in. No staff has cleaned anything or checked. It appears. Overhead fans with air conditioning so it's not too humid inside.
If I lived here and wasn't just visiting, I would definitely find a different Planet Fitness go-to that was nearby instead of this one. I would use this one as a last resort. No interaction with the staff other than check-in.

I would not recommend planet fitness in general but especially this location. I’m in the process of starting a small claims lawsuit against this location and I would guess there’s enough for a class action if others have had similar experiences. They charge sporadically and ghost “late fees”, a refusal to connect you with a phone number for upper management, the owner and/or and corporate and charged an annual fee the day after they forced us to come in to cancel the membership.
Terrible customer service and the charges they state when you sign up is not the what you actually get charged. Beware before signing up and giving your credit card information to these people.
I would give 0 stars but google won’t allow me.

This appears to be an older Planet Fitness location, and unfortunately it shows. I signed up for a membership and made this my home gym, but plan on transferring to a newer location (even though it will be farther away). The staff is nice, but upon my first visit some of them were too busy talking to one another and on their phones that I actually had to interrupt them to ask where I scanned in.

The locker rooms are old and not as well-maintained as other clubs I have been to between loose shower heads, drains, puddles of water outside of showers, and a strong smell in the locker room (I know locker rooms smell, but I’ve been to other PF that don’t have this problem). Additionally there were no hairdryers in the men’s locker room. The overall equipment is good and there’s a large amount, but I did get on one broken stair-stepper machine that another member joked “that works sometimes”.

I read in another review about the classes/New Hire Orientation and signed up on my second visit, but turns out those aren’t held if there isn’t a trainer available. If this is the norm for all Planet Fitness locations, then the option needs to be removed from the app. Also the location where it says for classes to meet on a sign is littered with storage boxes, even though there’s a table and chair that are meant to be for consultations, meeting, etc.

For the monthly price of less than $30 for a Black Card membership, it’s decent, but would not be my first choice location in the future.

First time in this area at this time of night. I’m writing this review because I came here tonight to workout and despite Google maps and Apple Maps showing the club being open, the person inside has the door locked. I saw the lights on and someone walking away from the gym which makes it look open. Even the Planet Fitness app doesn’t show an open time for Monday. I have a job out here that causes me to have late nights. Driving to this location after verifying if it would be open is a massive waste of time and gas. I tried letting the worker know that he should notify someone to have this changed. He was rude and argumentative. At first telling me “I’m not responsible for what it says on the site”, then decided to point at the sign on the door mean while I’m telling him to let the person who would be responsible know. To then start an argument with me about the semantics of whether or not it’s Monday. I didn’t think it would be a difficult matter to notify the person running this location to update their actual hours. As I write this I watch another person try to enter. Which definitely shows I’m not off base to believe this location would be open at 2:30am on Monday because all online services are indicating this.

Edit: this is a response for the owner. If you are now aware of the issue and you’re asking me to bring that to the manager when I’m not from the area. I can see why your reps treats gyms goers poorly when there is an issue. Reps reflect the attitude of management and management reflects the attitude of the owners.

Walking into the gym today. It was a clean environment. Not too loud and not too quiet. No issues period. However, that changed when a thicker woman (i’m assuming the manager) got under my skin. Her lack of customer service was astonishing. I was baffled, bewildered, in awe and for all the wrong reasons. The most disappointing part of this is that I enjoyed Planet Fitness before this. Been a member since this gym opened. During all that time I have always walked into an exceptionally clean facility, even the women's bathroom. The employees have never hesitated to help me when asked - everything from a machine I could not reset to fixing a cord on the TV. The staff communication style is difficult to understand. After your paying a monthly membership fee and being scolded for allegedly sleeping on the massage beds by the assistant manager. The massage cycle ran two times and the very young manager was offended by a members comment. He then offended me with a verbal warning ⚠️. This is a nice PF location.

Black Spa facilities are good too! 2 hydro massage bed, 2 hydro massage lounge chairs, 2 massage chairs & tanning /red light available.

I came in the evening on a Saturday about 1.5 hour before they closed & am satisfied with the machines used & black spa services. Not too crowded & diverse crowd as usual.

Plenty of machines with high ceilings.
AC keeps facility chilled. I realize now that those big machines in their Florida locations are AC machines to keep whole gym cold (thought it was just ugly thing sticking out).

There are a decent amount of bathrooms, lockers & showers.

Staff is friendly & nice! I never noticed that PF had merchandise. Their beverages are a good price, especially for Black Spa members.

Also, I noticed if you decide after your workout to support nearby businesses, there is an açaí spot/juices & plenty food spots to grab a quick bite.

It's clean but it is a hot box in the weight area. Literally walking from the cardio area to the weights, you feel an immediate rise in temperature.

Every time I go, it's so congested in the weight area. You're working on top of everyone else. It takes so much longer to complete my workout because I have to wait for others. They need to build another PF in the area.

And Yea, I'm aware of the crowd meter. I am like many others have work and other obligations so I can only attend the gym when time is allotted.

The gym was fine up until summer started now and they have all these stupid kids packed up in the gym going there for free. Its not fair to regular adult members to share the gym with in mature children who are playing around most of the time without any kind of supervision as they don’t cleanup after using equipment. Really disappointed in this gym. It is over crowded, way too hot the ac is either broken or they aren’t keeping it on. Lacking machines like newer PF gyms are. We transferred here from another location and the staff was helpful but this gym is tired… over crowded and terribly hot. Sad to say but after one workout I’m going to be looking for another planet fitness or a different gym. The lacking AC in the weights area was the deciding factor but it’s really crowded even at 8pm… I think they have outgrown this location.

You have to ask them to come out of the bathroom if you need to use it. I started going to another location more because of it. I don’t know how the managers haven’t addressed this.

It has a lot of cardio workout, but there is no free weights (bar) or there’s not many option for machines for example if you trying to do squad or dead lift but there is no bar they have smesh machine instead. There is no Leg hamstring extension…. If you’re trying to do cardio most of the time this gym is great but if you trying to lift weights I would go to other gym.

I live off grid and outside and this is my bathroom and I love it I can go take a shower most of the time when they're open 24 hours anytime I want and and it's just a good way to live you can't beat it for $24 a month
