Report Regarding Unacceptable Customer Service at 160 S. Noble Rd., Ormond Beach, FL 32174 on August 29 8:30pm

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the service I received at the Planet Fitness on August 29 at approximately 8:30 PM. I arrived at the facility, accompanied by my daughter, intending to utilize my Planet Fitness membership. Upon arrival, I was informed by the general manager, Noel, that I would be denied access because my membership was initially registered at another location.

Despite my efforts to resolve this issue by contacting the original location to request a membership transfer, I was informed that the transfer could not be completed over the phone. I requested a day pass or any reasonable accommodation to allow me to work out, but Noel refused to provide any solution. His demeanor throughout the interaction was indifferent, and he showed no interest in addressing my concerns as a customer. As a long-standing member of Planet Fitness for at least three years, I am deeply dissatisfied with this experience, especially as I had intended for this location to become my primary gym following my recent move to the area.

Due to the unacceptable level of customer service I received, I have decided to cancel my membership with Planet Fitness. I believe that the treatment I experienced reflects poorly on the values and standards of Planet Fitness, and I cannot, in good conscience, continue to support a business that does not prioritize customer satisfaction.

Just came here at 3 am to make an account and was helped with great enthusiasm and even given a tour. Drew informed me of all the perks and amenities with great patience as well as answering any questions I’ve had. Gym is clean and was shown around as I expressed concerns of another planet fitness not having a good reputation on cleanliness in their bathrooms/showers. Instead of speaking good about the place I was shown how the standard of this place is kept and it’s well reviewed.

Planet Fitness Review (True 24-Hour Location)

I recently joined a new Planet Fitness that just opened near my home, and I’m genuinely impressed with the experience so far. It’s a true 24-hour location, which is a huge plus for someone like me who prefers working out during off-peak hours. Being able to go any time of day or night without worrying about closing times gives me the flexibility I need.

What makes this location stand out even more is that it’s one of the few gyms of its kind in the area. There aren't many 24-hour options nearby, so having this open close to home is incredibly convenient. I don’t have to waste time driving across town or rearranging my schedule just to get a workout in.

The gym itself is clean, spacious, and fully equipped with brand-new machines. Whether you’re into cardio, strength training, or just need space for stretching and functional workouts, there’s more than enough room and gear to accommodate. I rarely have to wait for equipment, which is a refreshing change compared to other gyms I’ve tried.

The atmosphere is friendly and laid-back, true to Planet Fitness’ “Judgment Free Zone” motto. It’s a welcoming place for beginners and regulars alike. The staff is always helpful and the environment feels safe, even during late hours.

Overall, I highly recommend this Planet Fitness location. If you're looking for a clean, 24/7 gym with great equipment and a comfortable vibe, this is a fantastic choice.

It is great. All brand new with new equipment kept very clean. Lockers, clean showers, and great employees to guide you in right directions and take care of any problems. Open 24/7 and close to a McDonalds, Breakfast and lunch cafe, soon to open Pizza shop, and a very good Italian Ice and ice cream place. Lol Just what we need after a workout.LOL

Kayla was the rudest person I’ve ever met and will be the sole reason me and my family go to Amped. She actually told me that, as a member for over 6 years, I could find another BATHROOM to use if I had run in to relieve myself in an emergency type situation and would check in after wards so I didn’t pee my pants. Had to dig my phone out of my bag too… so she rudely told me to use some other bathroom somewhere else first. The freakin nerve of this kid!!! She then gave me dirty looks to no end and I am just appalled by the behavior of this employee. I won’t be back to this location.

Jenna and Keifer (hope I spelled it right) did a great job and were a great help to myself and my friends. They helped us out with the day passes and accommodated our belongings. Aside from this, the gym is TOP TIER. All equipment is new and it’s plenty spacious with lots of equipment. 10/10 would recommend.

This new location of
Planet fitness is very nice and very clean. Love how clean it is!!! The locker rooms are great and have excellent lighting, which is a welcome bonus. Obviously the equipment is all new. There are no actual barbells so it’s a more basic gym experience. No barbells and no squat racks or platforms even though there would be plenty of room for that and a sled / turf area. I go here for my cardio and cables days and it’s perfectly fine for that. It’s rarely crowded and anyway you can check on their app to see if it’s currently a bit more busy.

My only suggestion would be to please turn down those raging giant fans over the cardio area. It’s like a wind tunnel, it’s so strong, which is actually not beneficial when you’re sweating. Just my two cents. I do my best to find a treadmill where I won’t blow away.

Been member of PF black card for 10 years approximately. I do two one hour treadmill. Requested have tv switch to CBS since 4 tv’s were double other station. They Looked through me as if transparent. Leaving. Didn’t feel belonged.

Today I visited the newly opened Planet Fitness location with my wife and my son and was immediately met with an ear-piercing screeching noise emanating from one of the treadmills. When I inquired about the noise, a male employee stated that the treadmill needed to "break in." This was unacceptable, and the machine should have been shut down immediately.
Furthermore, as a Silver Sneakers member through my Medicare Advantage plan, I was informed that my membership was not yet accepted at this location. This was disappointing, as I rely on this benefit for my fitness routine.
I felt like I was discriminated against and humiliated.
Despite six employees being present at the front desk, none offered any solutions, such as a temporary pass, a discount for the inconvenience, or even a simple apology for the situation.
Given the lack of customer service and the unacceptable noise levels, I will not be recommending this location to others.

After following the owners instructions, none of the issues I encountered were corrected.

Update March 15:
About two weeks after a terrible experience I had at this planet fitness Location I went back in to sign up with my Medicare Advantage Plan. After a bit of confusion, I spoke to the general manager who was able to sign me up without issue. Since then, I have gone to the location twice a week, and I have to give it a much better review in terms of equipment, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff.
It does deserve five stars, but I can only give it for because of my Initial experience.

I felt persecuted and noticed a certain implication, others people does the same but she only came at me. Annoying woman! Gym doesn’t have enough equipment. I travel the USA from Oceanside, CA, to SC, and all points in between, and I have been a Black Card member for several years. I'm particular, especially with the cleanliness of the men's locker room and bathrooms, tp and paper towel stock, music volume, hospitality of the staff, and overall appearance inside and outside of each PF that I use. This one passed my quality standards just fine. Much better than the other local PF. I'm just passing through during crazy loud bike week.

I'm glad this gym is conveniently located, open 24 hours, and clean while the other ones in the area are closed so I can come in early and according to my schedule. I also like that they don't blast the music like other planet fitness I've been to. The quieter the better so I can listen to what I want on my headphones. Deserves a 5 star. Welcome to Ormond!

Please take the lesser reviews with a grain of salt, this gym has not even been open two weeks yet, please give them some grace and realize they still may be working things out with equipment and staffing. Personally I am grateful to finally have a nice planet fitness in ormond that isn’t on beachside or isn’t in Daytona. As a long time Daytona gym goer this is great to have in town. Everything is immaculate, new and clean. The staff seems super friendly. The women’s locker room is very spacious and their stalls are extremely spacious as well. This is a great gym for the price of the membership.

So far, they have wasted my time 4 times now. First time, they advertised they were open and were not. Second time, I went back to be told they open at 2pm but did not advertise that. Third time I went back, computers were not set up to accept insurance, but assured me they would be set up the next day. fourth time, went by today, still not accepting insurance, and blamed it on the corporate not sending the representative from Jacksonville down in time, informed me to call tomorrow. This is unacceptable; as a business owner myself, I should have been compensated, allowed a guest pass for the day, or some sort of customer service to diffuse this, even after voicing all of my concerns; instead, I received there is "nothing we can do; check back tomorrow.".

My only disappointment was that planet fitness has been advertising new equipment and plate loaded hammer strength machines for awhile now and this gym has a lot of cardio machines and smith machines, but no hack squat or any plate loaded machines. Hopefully in the future
