Planet Fitness in Ormond Beach is hands-down one of the most enjoyable gyms I’ve been to. The entire front wall is one huge window, and catching the sunrise during an early morning workout is absolutely unbeatable—it’s like getting a motivational boost straight from nature. The staff and members create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and the facility is always clean and well-maintained. And yes, I’ll even forgive them for calling the fire department on me that one time—lifting extremely heavy can definitely rattle the average gym-goer! Overall, it’s a great place to train, stay consistent, and start the day with an amazing view. Highly recommended.

This location gets two Stars because it's clean. I asked the lady at the front desk if I could get help turning on the rowing machine. She said they were solor powered and rarely work. The shower has nowhere to put your shampoo or soap. None of the soap dispensers are have any soap. The main thing is there's nowhere to have privacy to take your clothes off to get in the shower. There's no TV in the locker room like there is at all the others

Joel is the absolute worst manager possible. After having a fraudulent account opened she said there was nothing that could be done after I have called months to have this resolved and hundreds of dollars charged. She was unhelpful, rude, and dismissive of my concerns. Stay away from Planet fitness in general but specifically Ormond. It seems ok to work out here but this is not the place to get a quiet relaxing massage 😢. I usually love using the massage chairs at PF but the relaxation area here has everything all bunched together and the rooms are open so you can literally hear everything! From the weights being lifted to the hydro massage chairs it’s all very loud !

I have been vacationing in Ormond Beach. My sons have been members of the planet fitness for many years. I decided to check this planet fitness out this evening. I was parked and speaking to my employees overseas via Skype at the planet fitness on South Atlantic Avenue. A lady came up to my car and started knocking at my window and shouting. She scared me and interrupted my conference meeting via Skype.. The fitness employee was Alice with a black T - Shirt and black pants. She started screaming that I was not allowed to be at her parking lot. I muted my meeting and started driving away because it was very important meeting. I was embarrassed. Alice should pay attention how she serves the customer and their tourists guests. Her rudeness and arrogance are unacceptable. We will never go back to this location. I will ask my sons to change their membership to a different company. The Planet Fitness doesn’t deserve our money to raise its revenue…

This place is super clean. I see most people wiping down the equipment after they use it. My wife and I took advantage of the free personal trailer as we are Black Card holders. Izzy was super nice. We couldn't move the next day, but, nice guy. I would recommend it to anyone.

I've tried canceling this membership several times. I have not been in the area due to the fact my father has terminal cancer. I have written two letters trying to get this canceled. One in October and one in November. I have written emails. I have called this place and they still will not cancel and now my bill is getting higher and higher. Wouldn't you think this owner would have a little empathy for someone like me but I guess not they could care less. They probably just throw my letters in the garbage. Was back in town for one week and I did not make it over there to cancel it.
If you want to belong to a gym that doesn't really give a crap about you unless you pay them, please go ahead and join this gym
I regret it everyday. But spending time with your loved ones is much more important
Just wish this manager or owner would actually open their eyes and cancel my membership after trying to reach out four or five times be letters, emails and a phone calls.

Yet another example of why I refuse to be a customer myself. My boyfriend’s cell phone was stolen from a locker. Another one of my friends had her ENTIRE gym bag and purse stolen. There are also creepy men everywhere and they follow you out to your vehicle. Employees must see this all the time, I have not seen any change since. Did you ever get your cameras fixed? Be careful. This place is a hot spot for getting your stuff swiped. Be cautious. Btw, none of their items were located. It's very busy and few folks wipe the machines off after their use. The staff is limited and a bit overwhelmed with the flow of people coming in so you can't get the attention you need or have to wait extended times to shuffle thru the machines but for a long standing older planet fitness it seems to do the best it can. If you look at the case fatality rate. The number people who die, who get it, it's over 3% when you get to 70 and over.
That's a real risk. You look at 60 and under, it's less than .002%. OR ABOUT LESS THAN TWICE THE FLU.

"Really what you need to do is protect people who are OVER the age 70. Protect them from the risk they would have if they were exposed to the V$RUs because they are in that 3-5% death rate from getting the disease.

I've been to planet fitness all the united States. This is the only one that doesn't let you charge anything not being next to it at all times or the machines.

This club has some of the rudest & nastiest staff I ever seen. Lauressa is especially rude & nasty. I’ve been going here for years as a Black member here & a club in CA. I was told to switch my club membership 2 days ago or pay $5. I did that & when I came in Lauressa demanded my ID. The manager who refused to give me his name berated me for my “bad energy” towards their staff. They are simply horrible & a bad example for Planet Fitness!

The people are not helpful nor doing their jobs. You must mail a letter or go into the gym to cancel your membership. I mailed two letters over the last couple of months and my membership wasn't canceled. When I made it to the gym they claimed they didn't receive either letter and charged me another month to cancel. This PF location is so outdated and Not disabled friendly. The one shower they have downstairs is used by everyone, people going in to pee and it stinks, fans don't work so it's a miserable shower. Planet Fatness on A1A in Ormond Beach SUCKS.. I was a member of this PF for years before moving to Tennessee , and never had a problem..Now I have a black card from TN. and when I went there on Friday night, I was trespassed by the police. Why was this? did a break a rule? or a law ?? No I parked out back behind the business .Every space in the front was taken, except for Handicapped spaces. When I finished, I went to my van, where I was parked. A Ormond Beach young rookie cop, prevented me from leaving, by blocking me in ,parking his patrol car directly behind me. He had a lousy attitude, as he began asking me a bunch of questions. I asked him what was the problem , and he thought it was suspicious that I would park in back of the building., as if my question was stupid. I informed him that I was a black card member of PF, and this meant nothing to him. He began asking me more questions , and I politely informed him that I was tired and wanted to leave and would not be answering a bunch of questions about my life, which did not concern him. Did I break a law ? or a rule I asked, and if so then we could discuss that, but he said nothing except lets see some ID. I told him I wanted to leave and he said I was being detained.when he returned, he had a piece of paper that he wanted me to sign . I refused . He told me that I was trespassed from PF in Ormond Beach, and could NOT return within on e year.
. I did NOTHING wrong, broke no rule, was respectful of everyone, and yet because I stood up for my right to remain silent, I was TRESPASSED from Planet Fitness, where I have a contract to use this facility. ..
. Bad enough , but when I called Kyle, the manager on Monday morning, I was told that even though no one from Planet Fitness had trespassed me that night, the cop did.. PF management has a deal with the cops where the cops can trespass anyone they deem a problem. That includes anyone who dares to legally stand up to the harassment form the cops, by refusing to answer a series of questions.. UNFAIR......I asked Kyle to stand up for me but he refused
I don't need to be in any place where I am subject to harassment, The concept of a " judgement free zone" is a JOKE. , at this PF.

First of all the place is a closet, I was only visiting and decided to run in and do a fast workout… wouldn’t have returned anyway because of how outdated it is compared to the other planet in Daytona. months ago I’d had an issue with a girl who was being incredibly difficult. Would have been the first time working out there but didn’t make it past the front desk. I of course returned the energy and let her know she needed to work out her teeth 😂 today the manager came to me while I was stretching and told me to leave because of the gang sign teeth lady incident. No problem. No one wants to work out in a crumb gym when CRUNCH FITNESS is literally around the corner and thank you bald guy with bad breath that you could smell from 6 inches away. This location HAS to be a joke. It’s so tiny inside and has the strangest narrow staircase that goes to the smallest locker room I have ever seen. There’s also NO signage that even says where the locker room is to begin with lol. I also definitely got strep throat after visiting this gym so that tells me there’s no cleaning going on here, which by other reviews on this place it checks out. Crunch fitness is building a new location about a mile or so up the road and I’ll most likely be taking my business there. I absolutely do not want to go back to this gym.

On May 20th 2024 I parked in the parking lot for a few minutes to change my clothes in the back of my van before going in to work out. The manager Samantha began to beat on my van heavily shining a flashlight in my van through the opened windows with a very harsh voice told me to leave because a school was next door. I thought this was crazy because I have been a black card member for years and go to planet fitness all over the country and never had a situation like this before. I then go to work out because I am a member. This woman Samantha was extremely disapproving of me to the point she would walk away and not assist me. I then decided to record this interaction for evidence of this crazy behavior towards me the customer. I know that this emotional breakdown that she was having started likely because i have a large magnet on my van that says “Jesus Saves” to bring hope to everyone who sees it. I am very hurt by how she treated me. Planet Fitness is a judgement free zone and Samantha was not only judging me but being very hateful towards me. So I record the interaction with my phone to show the management of how I was being treated , she calls the police and has me removed from the property for a year. I will likely seek for legal action on this matter to protect others from this treatment. Samantha the manager kept saying that there was a school next door for some reason? It’s possible that she was under the influence. Be warned!

this gym is for females. they will complain if you make to much noise or put to much weight on the smith machine. friday sat and sun are not 24 hr! and there is a 30$ maintenance fee which they dont put to use. come on with that lunk alarm! also the bar on the flat bench sits a bit to high. Hi planet fitness,

You will be pleased to hear that myself and my workout group on Facebook will be boycotting planet fitness based on a single employees extremely disrespectful behavior. Then again, you have continued to employ her despite repeated complaints and so it is clearly planet fitnesses opinion that “Daytona trash” aren’t welcome at your Ormond beach location. Of course, all of us “Daytona trash” would be visiting your Daytona location if it hadn’t been closed for renovations for weeks on end.

I was curious about what those renovations were intended to do for that club but with all the other gyms in the area and your miserably unhappy employee Samantha, who was only too happy to angrily and defiantly tell me her name because? apparently, she can behave like this because this is how planet fitness does things.

What happened specifically you may ask? Well, I parked my car in your parking lot, went inside, worked out, took a shower and returned to my car. I was in my car browsing Facebook before I left when she came out of the door quite literally yelling at me through my window, despite the fact that I had had no contact with her throughout the night. She told me I couldn’t be in “her parking lot” which it apparently is. I told her, “okay, I have a membership, I’ll just come back and check in”. Problem solved, yes? Nope, She told me I had already checked in and exited and so I was not allowed to renter the facility. She then proceeds to further her insult by telling me that us “Daytona trash” are not welcome there.

Instead of fighting with Samanth- at your ormond beach location working the overnight shift, I just left. I’m sending you this message but this will certainly not be the last place I post this story. I’m positive that as many people as possible should know about how you conduct business and as a professional IT technician, I know how to “get the word out” if nothing else.

Don’t worry, “Daytona trash” like me and anyone else I reach that is also “trash” won’t be troubling your ormond location or any other. There are 8 other gyms in this town alone and I would go to any one but yours at this point. Bye bye.

This place was good up to I meet the supervisor. She is bad service to customers. I don’t recommend it. Not know how work with customer or resolve a problem. She needs more skill to be successful. Sad this happened to me . I wish the owner contacted me true my email . My passion is workout 🏋️‍♀️. And she make things harder for people . 😞

Awesome Planet Fitness, just a walk from the beach. It is never too busy and everything is always clean. They have a nice amount of free weights, lots of cardio options, a room dedicated to core strength and an upstairs locker room. 2 sets of bathroom, very nice!

Rude employees. Place is a complete mess, the roof is falling in with debris all over the machines. A lot of machines are older and do not operate properly. Nobody follows the express workout rules and employees do not enforce the rules. Will not be returning.

The gym is fine. -3 stars because it smells like mold. Very strong mold odor soon as you walk in the door. They Im sure it would cost 10’s of thousands of dollars to do a legit HVAC job here but it’s not the place you wanna be breathing heavy at… very stuffy hopefully someone from high up comes here and does an assessment of what it would cost to fix it up cuz I don’t get how people can be okay with working out here everyday.

I prolly don't have to tell you how ideal this gym really is. It's smack dab in the middle of all my other interests around town. The gym floor has always been neat and my weights accessible. They really do have a membership for every type of lifestyle, from multiple gym sessions a week or if you'll just need a couple a month. They have a membership that fits.

no functional showers, not open 24 hours, choc full of inconsiderate tools who believe that the equipment is a lounge chair for them to relax on while scrolling through their Instagram while resting 20 minutes between sets.. ( not exaggerating). aforementioned tools cop a huge attitude if you ask to work in, as they don't know what that means. what ever happened to gym etiquette? when I mentioned it at the front desk, they refuse to address it. I avoid this particular location like the plague because of all this, even though it is very close to me. vastly prefer palm coast, even though it's 30 minutes away.

I was parked outside eating dinner at 11 pm on December 6th when the lady working came outside to my vehicle POUNDING on my window shouting that there’s no overnight parking.

I told her I’m a member of the gym and was about to come in, to which she yelled there’s no showers and walked off.

Literally shaking, I went inside to ask for her name which she responded with “Why?” after pausing to look up from her cell phone.

I told her that I would be including it in my review & told her that she really scared me.

She replied that she treats everyone that way.

This behavior is 100% unacceptable — regardless of anything.

It is NOT ok to try and offend or scare others period, and as a representative of the PF brand I sincerely hope that she will receive training on appropriate customer service as her normalized actions are dangerous on top of it all.

Having been a black card member for years and traveling throughout the US and Canada I have never experienced such disrespect at any PF facility, and rarely at all in life.

I won’t be emailing the local manager to repeat this message so feel free to pass my experience & suggestion on to them, Corporate Representative.

I've been to Planet Fitnesses all over the country and this one is probably my favorite which is good since it's my home gym! I mean, where else can you have an ocean view from the elliptical for $20 per month! There are many people who appear to be in their 70s, 80s and up who work out here and that's very inspiring to me as I hope to be able to go to the gym when I am that age which won't be long ;). The place is next door to a high school so I also see lots of teens there which is also cool since it's great to see people developing fitness habits early. The gym is always clean and the equipment, while very well-used, is typically always working. The staff is friendly and responsive--I asked them a while back if they could tune one of the TVs to HGTV and they did! AC is nice and cold which is critical down here. All in all, a great place to work out.

Currently sitting in the parking lot of this location because I felt pushed out. I went inside to work out and kept noticing people staring and judging me, within the minute of walking in the front desk workers were looking at me funny. Later when I went to go workout there was an older couple who wouldn’t stop staring and giving me dirty looks. I’m in the same type of gym clothes I’ve worn to other planet fitness locations and never gotten judged like this. This isn’t okay saying Planet fitness’s whole this is a “judgment free zone”.

The gym is nice and clean with plenty of machines. The only downside is that the locker room is 1)upstairs 2)not clearly labeled 3) very small. The men's locker room has 30 lockers, 1 stall, 1 urinal, and 2 showers. Gets the job done but small in my opinion. All together a good gym!
