Planet Fitness has a lot going for it—clean facilities, helpful staff, and a welcoming, judgment-free environment that’s perfect for people at all fitness levels. The equipment is well-maintained, and the affordable monthly rates are a big plus. I also appreciate the added perks of the Black Card membership, like massage chairs and access to other locations.

That said, the membership structure is the biggest downside. There’s no household or family plan available, which makes it difficult and expensive for families or couples who want to stay fit together. The Black Card option allows guest(s) but the primary account holder must be present. For families or partners with conflicting schedules, that makes it nearly impossible to use the gym together unless everyone has their own membership.

As a parent, I know how challenging it can be to coordinate workout times—and having to purchase multiple memberships under one roof just isn’t practical or affordable for many. A household plan or shared membership model would go a long way in making fitness more accessible for families who are trying to prioritize health together.

Overall, I enjoy working out at Planet Fitness and would still recommend it. I just truly hope they re-evaluate their membership options to better support families and households.

PF continues to be great for the RV lifestyle. With my Black Card membership, I have access to any PF in their network - now 78 different clubs across the US and Canada. Sweet!

This was a nice easy workout on the Thirty Minute Circuit that felt good after driving across from Fort Myers this morning. After that, a shower and then I was back on my way. My only complaint was that there were quite a few flying bugs in the shower but they fell in the spray and no longer a problem.

All of the equipment in the Circuit worked fine and there were very few people sharing it with me at 11am on Sunday. I'd use this one again.

Like gyms everywhere they insist on playing Loud music, despite the fact that most of the people in the gym are wearing headphones, which obviously indicates that a) they don't want to hear or what the gym is playing and b) they'd rather listen to something else.
How nice it would be to not have someone else's music playing aloud over the speakers.
This gym doesn't have a sauna.
Like gyms everywhere, there is a problem with people sitting around on the equipment while they play with their phone instead of working out.

As evidence of their lack of attention to detail, there is a large space above one of the windows where outside air can obviously come in because the seal is gone, if they were paying attention to maintenance, this would have been repaired a long time ago and would probably help their air conditioning bill.

The suggestion to contact the gym staff is nonsensical and not useful.
Unless planet fitness makes it a corporate policy to not play music in the gym, this is not going to change.
That would indeed be a welcome change. Because then everybody could happily play whatever they want on their own headphones and not b bothered by the background noise.

Noise pollution is a reality in the modern world people are more in need of some quiet than someone else's idea of background music

***FIRST IMPRESSIONS***

My first time getting back into using Planet Fitness in a while, and at the one picked for me based on location, I'm met with clogged out of commission toilets and a huge puddle of standing water that I can presume is from aforementioned clogged toilets. That's unsanitary, and a competent health inspector would have a fit.

Two employees walked into the bathroom with what looked like they intended to clean the bathroom as I was writing above. I left to try and get a good workout. I go back 15 minutes later. They're gone, but stagnant water is still there.

I've only had my membership for about a week so far but it has been a great experience each time I go. There are plenty of machines to choose from so it's a smooth, stress free workout. My favorite part so far is they have fans built-in to the treadmills! As someone who gets very hot, very easily, that is a huge benefit. Bc of this I am able to workout longer. They also have hydro massages and tanning beds for black card members. Also black card members can bring a guest.

As I enjoy hydro massage lounger 2 (my favorite one, by the window), I reflect on what the year has brought. Months ago, I left a review that the Royal Palm Planet Fitness establishment was exceptionally good, but could benefit from a second leg press machine. Today, I entered the gym, coincidentally to complete a leg day workout, and discovered, to my delight, a new hack squat machine. This is even better than a second leg press! Thank you, Royal Palm PF. The new machine is a very high quality addition to your stable. In addition, Royal Palm PF is one of the cleanest and best maintained that I have visited in Palm Beach county (and as a Black Card member, I have visited quite a few).Happy New Year, Royal Palm PF. This is the Best Gym I have ever been a member of. The atmosphere is open, friendly, and inviting. I believe everyone is entitled to try to make themselves better physically. No one ever gives you a backward glance or snickers at your attempts to exercise. The Staff continuously encourages guests to ask questions and seek advice. I only wish there were more Physical Trainer Classes available where we could get our "routines" started and launch them into the Best Strength Training Program of our lives. Currently parked outside of Planet Fitness in Royal Palm Beach, FL where I have been a member for 10 consistent years. I was told that they do not offer a paid in full option any longer and now require a checking account and a credit card on file to be deducted monthly from your account. This is exactly what I was told the last time i renewed, but they stated if I want to pay in full then I would be forced to to pay for 18mon instead of 12 which I did. This is the punishment for being a loyal member for a decade? I am unable to have anything connected to my checking account and have consistently paid in full every time regardless of the time frame that was forced upon me to pay for. Im awaiting a call from Stephanie (the local AGM) to see if this right will be wronged and will update this review at that time. Letting a loyal member of 10yrs walk out the door and refusing to take their money is wrong and plain insulting on many levels. I'm hoping this is corrected quickly and my in full membership renewed.

UPDATED:
I have since recieved a call from the AGM (Stephanie) stating there was nothing she could do for me and would have her manager (Carlos) call me to see if he could help. I have yet to recieve a call from him. I have done my best to stay in contact with my local management as the follow up has recommended. This is clearly degrading and saddening at the very least for a 10 year loyal member to have to go through this. I would appreciate any help from corporate to right this wrong. Every now and then a customer comes along presenting a company with the opportunity to do the right thing. I'm hoping they decide righteously in how they want to be viewed by the public and the many other current members I still call friends over the past 10 years.

I usually got to the one here in south Florida on forest hill and military trail after I drop my son off at work but my back and arms were bothering me a little bit from my upper arm/shoulder body area was a little sore today (been awhile since I actually actively workout on a regular basis) and decided today (07/03/2024) that a massage today would help me feel better and ease some of that soreness! And that it did! My son also enjoyed his massage as well! Mostly of the time the staff is unfriendly in general. They just don’t care about anyone else around. Many times I see people SMOKING around the workout machines which is unbelievable and no one care. Also, hardly they refill the paper dispensers. The gym (space & machines) is nice!

This is by far the worst Planet Fitness I have ever visited !
The employees are not supposed to train nobody but if you are a female young and thriving they will definitely help you and train you even for free.
They have a lot of entry level employees and the worst of all is that I do not know what they are doing because definitely they are not cleaning nothing.
The restrooms are disgusting and smelly.
Clearly they think every person that goes there are entry level or rookies in a gym.
They do not know what it means no judge zone !
No training of any kind !
And I have seen people with disabilities not being helped by the staff but I have seen many young ladies being escorted and trained all over the gym by the staff.

Well in my opinion I think they need to get a new manager they have four stair machines three out of four were broke down as I went around the gym there were other machines that were broke down pieces that have fallen off just sitting on top of the machine. Today I came into the gym by myself because my wife have a black card membership and I usually come and work out with her but she's now pregnant and I've been gaining some weight because we can't work out together I decided to come by myself. The staff decided to approach me in mid of my workout to tell me I cannot be in here without a membership I explained to them My wife is now pregnant we usually come together but they said it's a liability I said to them can they look in the computer and see that we always come together I'm on her membership and they said no I could either leave or get a 1-day pass so I got the one day pass enjoy my workout but my mind was telling me to just cancel this membership. Only because of the service. I let the staff know in this day and age you have to be careful how you approach people because what if I identify as my wife's name. The only reason I come here is because it's close to my house but because of the service I'm now debating on canceling membership and going somewhere else with my money. If I'm wrong please reply because I believe you can look and see my wife and I always come together like I said. Decided to go back the following day only because my wife gave me a 7-day pass because she's a black card holder when in their scanned it they said I cannot enter unless she's with me You guys need to be very clear about this in your instruction My wife been a member since I believe 2021 now I'm going to go to crunch because I cannot even work out today I'm going to try out crunch and if I happen to like it I will be canceling planet fitness because I can't do that have a good day

This Planet Fitness on Southern in Royal Pam Beach is a good location except for one important issue. I joined in 2023 after seeing that they have personal training available to help with learning the machines and stretching equipment. After asking numerous times and being told “no one ever applied for that position” I finally cancelled my membership. Now, i received an email wanting me to come back and once again saying they have “free in-club fitness training “. Don’t know if I should trust them or not

I have cancelled my gym membership at planet fitness in person of Royal Palm Beach since mid January 24 and have been billed in February and now March ,someone is not doing their job correctly and I am being charged for their negligence.

I canceled my membership in person December 28th, 2023. Two months later, I check my reserve account and I see that I am still being billed. I called PF on Feb 12th and spoke with Mikah regarding the issue. He cancels my account over the phone, signs my cancellation for me and then tells me that I should be getting a full refund within a week or two. A month later, still no refund. I go to PF in person this past Saturday to address the issue. I was explaining the situation to the front desk person, meanwhile Mikah was right behind him the whole time on his phone, being no help whatsoever. He finally intervenes and takes down my info and says to call him Monday for an update. He ignored me for two days and passed me on to Carlos. He gives me a bunch of excuses and tells me that he “has to do some investigating into this.” This is exactly why Mikah and Carlos work at PF, this isn’t a murder case that needs to be solved, it’s a simple refund or not. I call this morning now for another update and Carlos doesn’t remember me, asked me “what’s this about?” So Carlos has amnesia and Mikah is incompetent at his job. Great Duo. Your employee failed to properly cancel my account, take accountability!

7 complaints of ice cold showers, and no hot water ranging from 1 month to 3 years ago, and all the PF pr replies is to acknowledge, and then steer into contacting the manager..... Have you ever thought that people are reading these reviews, they're adding up, and the management seemingly does not care? I want to point out the staff at this gym...I've been going for a couple months and there's a couple crews really don't know there names but they did work last night (sun night) let's call them the high school sweethearts that there always smiling at the desk greeting people or dusting or filling up the towels and taking out the trash...it seems like there keeping the place running and also if somebody starts slamming weights there on it with the horn and just want to say another crew usually they work on Friday nights let's call them do rag and glasses...when I see them ready to do the rounds they do there thing...I think the gym is great clean and the people you got working there atleast as far as night crew goes keep it movin...overall gym is good place to be and they should be recognized

I was not impressed. I went in for a tour and to see about joining. The young lady asked if I needed her to walk around with me or could I handle it on my own. I believe a tour usually has a guide, to provide information. If the staff can't even bother with a tour, a simple sales tactic. How can I expect them to be available with information about how to use the various machines? I feel the annual fee of $50 and the monthly fee of $25 would be a waste of money without the support of a friendly, and motivated staff.

Giving it a 1 star because I was stuck taking a cold shower at 7 AM
I told the Assistant Manager at the front desk there was NO hot water. He said there was a 'hot water switch' that he has to turn on. He said hot water is a safety issue....which made NO sense to me in 2023.
He asked me if I wanted him to turn the hot water on. (After I already had to take a cold shower)

If the assistant Manager and staff know hot water is an issue, then they need to be responsible to turn it on in the morning for guests to have a hot shower.

It's just silly and incompetent.
