An injury has kept me out of Planet Fitness for well over a year and am now facing another spinal surgery. I will not be able to use a gym during my recovery, which may be up to another year. I can no longer drive. I have attempted to cancel my membership several times, and have been told it has to be in writing and sent certified mail. Then I was told it did not have to be certified. I see that I'm still being billed and this has been going on for months. Finally, today, 9/7/25, I was able to cancel online supposedly, but they insist on billing me another month. It should not be this difficult to cancel any membership to a gym. I expect not to be billed for this month, and for previous months, but would settle for this last month.

I was a member at this location for 5+ years as it's the closest location to my house. Had a disturbing encounter with an aggressive member one night. No follow up or support from the general manager of the location. Which is ironic because my phone was literally ringing off the hook the one time I gave him a low CSAT score. Anyway, I changed locations. It's worth driving an extra 5 minutes each way to avoid this place.

Besides how they handled that one incident, this is the smallest and most crowded PF location I've ever visited. It doesn't help that the local high school is a few blocks away and they hand out free memberships to teenagers. I'm all for giving teenagers healthy outlets but it felt like the free members were pushing out the paying ones because of how small this place is.

All of the employees are really helpful and nice, and I’ve made some good friends I talk to on a regular basis. It’s summer while I’m writing this, but fair warning, when school is in session, avoid going 3-4 PM when they get out because the nearby higher schooler take up machines with groups of 3+ people and minimal structure. There was a recent remodel to the gym (recent at the time of me writing this, at least) that changed a lot of things that I think gives the gym more range, as far as levels of experience go, they got better cardio equipment, removed the 30-minute area nobody used and changed it into an area with extra dumbbells and hip training machines, a hack-squat machine, vertical smith benches on top of the angled ones (better for benching and squatting), a supine press that works different parts of your chest depending on your grip, and a weird hip thrust machine where you have to strap yourself in like it’s an airplane seat, and I’m probably forgetting some stuff, but that’s all the new stuff I can remember. Overall very clean and high quality gym though, 10/10 would recommend.

I think they do take into account member feedback. The place is always clean and machines are always in working order. There was a cable machine that was out for a few weeks but that happens and I'm glad to see they've added more cable machines in their recent remodel!

Employee refused to turn on French Open men's tennis finals on any on the televisions. Instead, we watched corn hole, home improvements, cooking, news, etc. An employee accommodated the request yesterday for the women's finals, not sure why it couldn't be done today. Employee said he "guesses they can change channels for really big events but not this." #1 vs #2 in the world at the finals of a Grand Slam is a big event. Satellite Beach is a tennis town. Please be more flexible.

Like it better than crunch, so far. Some of the trainers at crunch were rude when off the clock and working out on their own, and taking up multiple machines at once. At Planet it's a little more chill. If been a member before, but came back after a hiatus and trying 2 other gyms. Give me a discount if this gets a lot of views.

Not wild about the Manager at this location. Planet fitness only accepts payment from a bank account no other business I work with requires this. The PF Manager made up that LA fitness wont take a credit card which I have a subscription to currently paying with a credit card. I would like to speak with the owner concerning my issue if they are able to contact me. Manager explained that the GM or the owner would be unwilling to speak with me.

Andrew is a great manager because he’s hired great people who are knowledgeable and friendly. The gym is well equipped, clean and well maintained. I love the hydro massage beds, the massage chairs and the red light therapy. They’re a great supplement to the equipment and work out rooms. I hear they may expand which would be tremendous as we’ve grown so fast. I love my gym!

Andrew, the manager and his entire staff do a phenomenal job in running a top rate fitness center. They keep the place clean and the equipment in good order. They ensure all the clients abide by the rules so that everyone has a nice experience. My wife and I enjoy the Black Card privileges. The fitness center is a five minute walk from my home so we have no excuses 😂

One thing beyond the managers control is the fact that this fitness center now has in excess of 8000 members and that often makes it necessary to avoid core hours in order to have a workout without excessive people in the fitness center. The owners at this Satellite Beach location should cap membership at its current levels and put perspective new members on a waiting list. South Beach fitness Center is a mile down the road. These people could go there. This would actually show the community what an Outstanding Fitness Center, Planet Fitness has. And what a privilege it is to belong to this fitness Center.

So in the meantime, this fitness Center continues to sign new people up on a daily basis and I can see the numbers going to 9000 10,000 11,000 on out to 15,000 members. This is way too many and it should stop now.

They have about 400 treadmills and about one of each weight lifting machine. In the summertime there are kids wall-to-wall because they go there for free. They typically tie up the equipment while playing on their phones and checking TikTok. No one really enforces any of the policies that are set to make planet fitness different. There are usually a bunch of newbies trying to figure out the machines and stuff, using them incorrectly, not wiping them down etc etc etc etc

Walked in wearing flip flops. Got a Gatorade. Asked to charge to my account. They said ok. Minute later asked to leave for flip flops. I asked if they could take off the Gatorade since they had already let me in. I had taken 1 sip. They refused. Never had a problem with footwear before. I found this to be poor service. They should have let me in or taken off the Gatorade. I felt rudely scammed.

The people who work at Planet Fitness are what set it apart from other gyms. The courteous staff at my local Planet Fitness, along with the hydro bed massagers and red light therapy, makes you believe for a moment you might be at an exclusive and expensive private gym. The black card membership is well worth it for the amenities alone. Don't hesitate to join your local Planet Fitness. Commit to go a minimum of 3 days per week. You will thank yourself later! My coworker and I come to this gym on our lunch break and love this gym! The staff is very proactive about making sure the cleaning stations are full of paper towels and cleaning solution. The staff also clean the equipment constantly. It is one of the smaller of the planet fitness locations but it has a majority of the equipment that I've seen at other similar gyms. The showers and locker room are very clean. When equipment is out of order, they are pretty quick to repair it. I would definitely recommend!

Gym was clean, due to the great staffed employees. The daytime management is lazy, rude, and needs to be approached by higher ups.. I saw the taller gentleman in a black shirt being abusive towards someone with a mental disability. No, that's not cool in any book. Your manager not being educated on said condition gives him no right to act with such behavior. I better see a different person come out of him than the self entitled "kid" that was present today.

Nice place! Agree it is a bit small. The Smith machines all have a slight angle to them so they are not straight up and down. Feels strange bench pressing that way. Overall a good experience. It does get busy though.

I have been a member of various gyms beachside since the 90's. I never considered a franchise company so I was hesitant at first...but when I went in, the equipment was new, it all functioned (unlike some other places locally...) and they are constantly cleaning and wiping down the equipment, even more so since Covid...The staff is amazing , friendly and always smiling and helpful...Can't recommend any ways to improve it--it's awesome...and the hydromassage chair...awesome...Two thumbs up to the Sat Bch PF !!
