First off the new gym remodel is awesome! The cleanliness and all the new equipment is top notch. I go there all different times of day based on my work schedule. When I go there in the afternoon, I am always greeted by staff, there is constantly staff walking around the gym and re-racking weights people leave behind and making sure everything is neat and organized for the next people that come through. I feel when you have a constant staff presence walking around. It encourages people to make sure they wipe off equipment, it keeps them from just sitting at machines for 1520 minutes while they talk on their phones and it keeps people re-racking their weights. However, when I go in early mornings, the staff never even says hi because that would mean they would have to actually look up from their phones. They never walk around the gym, they never really do anything. Every plate loaded machine is loaded with weight and nobody around using it. People sit and camp out at machines and nobody says anything to them, half the time people don’t even wipe off their equipment. Kinda sucks coming in early mornings because I spend more time on racking other people‘s weights so I can use a machine or pre-wiping the equipment because I watch people just walk away from it without wiping anything down. Definitely a much better experience coming in here in the afternoons. If you can, I would definitely avoid coming in early mornings because you will be disappointed.

It's a basically a prison yard gym. I'm doing my workout and a man randomly starts making faces at me and flips me off. Staff didn't do anything about it. It was my first time going to this gym and I'm never going back.

I have been going to PF for over 10 years, and I have seen A LOT of them due to travel. This PF has, hands down, the most equipment I’ve ever seen, including some equipment I’ve never seen in a PF before. I’d give it four stars for appearance, just because I have seen nicer interiors, but I’m not here for appearances. I just moved into the area and will be coming here often. Great PF!

I stop by here after eating at Anderson Road Cafe if I don’t feel like dealing with Dale Mabry to get to EOS. This place has the same essentials, but EOS has better massage chairs. Nothing beats the Planet Fitness in Gainesville though.

This low rating doesn't reflect the gym itself, but rather the employees' behavior in allowing coaches from people who aren't actually gym employees to gather students around the machines and teach classes inside. I've seen at least three or four people teaching classes there. One of them gathers three or four people daily, and they spend about 30 minutes or more holding the equipment. As far as I know, it's against Planet Fitness's rules to have instructors who aren't employees. I know they're not employees because none of them wear the gym uniform.

And there's no point in telling me to go see the manager, because the manager certainly knows, because I've seen that the employees are friends with this one, and probably with the others as well.

And I prefer not to have to speak directly to any manager because I don't want to identify myself, since the employees and probably the franchise manager know what's going on inside and just don't care.

I usually go to EOS Fitness, but I’ve found myself really appreciating Planet Fitness as well. The atmosphere here is much quieter and less crowded, which makes it easier to focus on my workouts without distractions. The equipment is always available, the facility is clean, and the overall vibe feels more relaxed compared to other gyms.

It’s perfect for days when I want a slower pace and a stress free environment. I can get in, get my workout done, and not feel rushed or overwhelmed. Definitely a great balance to my routine, and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys a calm, comfortable gym experience.

4 months ago is the opinion I gave about this location today Wednesday August 27, 2025 I visited the property, I was surprised by the changes they made, at least the men's bathroom is something else now, I gave it a four-star rating because they don't have private rooms to change in after a shower. Below this comment is my previous review which I had given one star. I leave you as proof of the change the previous photos and the new photos

As a cargo van driver who travels all across the country, I’ve had the opportunity to use Planet Fitness locations nationwide — and I can confidently say that this is by far the most disappointing and unsanitary facility I’ve encountered.

The location at 7310 W Waters Ave, Tampa, FL 33634 is in serious need of attention. The **bathrooms and shower areas are filthy**, with visible mold, grime buildup, and clear signs of neglect. Hygiene standards here are far below what’s expected from a brand that promotes a clean and welcoming environment. Additionally, **the lack of properly functioning equipment** makes it frustrating to get through even a basic workout.

Planet Fitness usually maintains consistent quality across its locations, but this gym is a glaring exception. I sincerely hope management takes immediate action to bring this facility up to standard — because right now, it’s doing serious damage to the reputation of the brand.

Not a very busy gym at least when I come in late night. Perfect for me. They are in the process of remodeling and getting new equipment downside is the Dust and black card extras have not been able to be used😪,I hope they keep up with with the cleaning a little better. This isn't about your renovations. What's the point of having rules if you do not enforce them? This morning I saw people walking around and working out in socks and sliders and others working out in jeans. You say to rerack equipment, but I had to basically clean your 360 room just so I could make space just to workout. You label where weights go, but I had to remove every single weight off of a bar set just to get to the weights I needed because they weren't organized. Then let's get to the restroom, the toilet seats are stained and gross, it costs $25 for a new seat, it isn't that hard to replace. And why are we still using hand blow dryers when they have been proven in numerous studies to be less hygienic, and this is after a pandemic. Oh, that's right, why would your employees care, they are too busy on their devices or hanging out to actually do anything about it. This location needs new leadership. It was appalling.

Equipment in poor condition, witnessed several members just get up and walk away from equipment with no wipe downs, weights all over the place, dumbbell racks empty because multiple sets of dumbbells were being "held" or "reserved" by people, and the staff just let it happen. This was a major disappointment. The men's room was dirty, dirty, dirty. The showers were covered in caked hard water and needed a major spray of that CLR stuff. One of the showers was only hot (but plenty of it) with absolutely no warm making it unusable. When using the shower I did find and adjustable water temperature, I squished five mosquitoes on the wall. What? Yes.

One of the sinks had no water and that's why no one washed down the bowl full of shaved beard. The second sink had spilled toothpaste on it. Seriously?

At 5am, the attendant was spending his time on his phone. I opted not to disturb him

All of that said, the equipment area was great with lots of options and well spaced. The 30 Minute Circuit was great with only one other person when I was here. They have a nice and large parking lot that is well lit.

Sort out the locker room and this could be five stars.

Disappointing Experience

I’ve been to several PF locations and have always been satisfied with the cleanliness, but my recent visit to this particular location was absolutely disgusting. The entire place was filthy, with caked-on dirt and layers of dust everywhere. It was clear that the gym hadn’t been properly cleaned in months. Equipment, floors, and even common areas were in need of a clean. I was shocked and even considered leaving but I was already jittery from my pre workout. I hope the management addresses this issue soon.

For weeks, my fellow peers and I have been taking cold showers. Whenever the issue is addressed, the general manager interrupts, displaying a lack of interest. He hangs up abruptly, exhibiting rudeness and prejudice, devoid of compassion. His demeanor is consistently angry and unprofessional. Unaware of our identities, I intend to express my dissatisfaction on all my platforms, giving the location a negative review. Considering the substantial monthly expenditure, the persistence of cold showers post-workout is unacceptable. Gently informed the staff about a HUGE cockroach on the handle of a bicep curl machine, like where everyone TOUCHES and puts their hands!!! Staff was dismissive and I watched, not one person went to go take care of it. 4 people behind the desk on their phones and nobody can remove a cockroach and sanitize the machine. Went to this gym for a good 5 months because I lived within walking distance, and it definitely had its pros and cons. First off, staff for the most part are very nice people. That being said I did feel very out of place the majority of the time due to everyone knowing each other and the lack of Spanish I knew. Also my high school gym had better equipment. But for the price you pay there isn’t much better you can get!

I’m a truck driver so Iv been to a lot of planet fitness’s. What I like most is how clean they are.
This one has to be the worst one I have ever been too… the showers are so bad only one worked they were moldy and smelled terrible.
The staff was rude and sat on their phones the whole time! I told them about the showers and was met with anger!

The gym itself is a nice size. Has ample equipment. Locker Room was ehhh ok. The part that gets me is the whole place and the people working out here are DISGUSTING! I did not see one person (males mainly and females too) wipe any equipment or anything down. It was just plain nasty. No workers enforces any cleaning. I saw at least 3 guys literally go in their pants to scratch balls and went straight back to working out. This is Monday 4-22-24 8- 10:30pm. I was so disgusted i just left. The guys had no courtesy they just bombarded every machine and stayed there as if they owned the gym. No employee regulated or enforced anything its like what are they here for. We can get around waiting hours for equipment to free up but not cleaning anything i cant get past. Im starting to rethink my 7 year membership with planet fitness. The staff would not say anything when we walked in. My wife said the tanning beds were old and so dirty they could not be cleaned properly. All the equipment is so old and worn down. Too many gym rats working out in groups and dominating machines and not allowing others to use the machine. Even the restrooms are dark and dated. We will not be back.

The bathroom room and shower room floor looked as if it had never been clean. Some type of moths were all over the shower walls and ceilings. The showers smelled of mildew. Shower heads leaking, gum and hair all over the floor. Employees are aware because I saw one walk in the bathroom. None seem to care because they were all ganged up behind the front desk when I walked in. Locker room was disgusting, gym stuck to floor , trash. This place hasnt been cleaned in a long time. The equipment was older as well at least the treadmills. This is definitely not the usual planet fitness. My recommendation is to stay away and go somewhere else. I would go eat a large pizza and skip a workout before I went back here. The manager obviously doesn’t care. Clean house and start over.

I'm in the area temporarily and wanted to check out the PF in the area (black card member). The other one off of Waters is ok, but this one is the worst planet fitness I've ever been to. Just dirty, and the smell was awful. Like other reviewers said, the members here didn't have any respect for other members, just people pushing around to get to machines. The place was filthy, the bathrooms were disgusting, and above all the smell that hits you walking in was horrendous.

I travel for work but am local to tampa area. I wasnt around my home gym. This location is by far the worst PF i have ever been to in the 48 states ive been in. That says a lot. The staff dont greet you, its filthy, it smells terrible (rotten), and is ridiculously packed. The equipment is bad and the free weights are all over the place. Needs to management immediately.

I normally don’t review places especially negative ones. The staff seems nice and all. I just bought a membership and I got to the gym and it was disgusting. The women’s bathroom was absolutely filthy. I go to use the stair master and a roach starts climbing on it. I never canceled a membership so fast.
