I work in a cargo van, providing cargo services throughout the east coast and center of the country. I visited all the locations of this company, I can't understand how a company doesn't control its franchises, This location is disgusting in terms of both cleanliness and organization of the men's bathroom, The size of the accessible shower is ridiculous. The truth is that they should remove the franchises that don't meet the requirements. The showers are disgusting and the size is ridiculous.

I live close to this planet fitness and I go to another PF that's a bit farther because this planet fitness is to small, overcrowded, I wouldn't even dare use the lockeroom if you not trying to catch something. There's never the machine you want available at the moment. The drinking water they provide thru the water fountain taste like pool water and smells like straight bleach. This PF on Fowler sucks

On September 7th, 2025 at around 3:35 PM, I had one of the most disrespectful and unprofessional experiences I’ve ever encountered at a Planet Fitness.

I wasn’t feeling well and had stomach issues all day, possibly food poisoning. While in the restroom using the facilities (for about 30 minutes), I suddenly heard a knock on the door. A staff member, who later identified himself as Billy, said to me: “You’ve been in there for 1hr and I need to leave as you are trespassing.” He then essentially threatened to call the police to have me removed from the building — despite the fact that I am a paying Black Card member in good standing.

This was humiliating, disrespectful, and completely out of line. At no point did Billy attempt to handle the situation with professionalism or courtesy. When I confronted him afterward, instead of acknowledging his mistake, he became defensive, lied about how long I had been in the restroom (first saying 1 hour, then changing it to 45 minutes), and dismissed my concerns. He even stood with his arms crossed, turned his back to me, and refused to listen.

The implication that I had somehow “sneaked into the building” or was “squatting in the restroom like a vagabond” is unacceptable treatment toward any member, let alone a loyal paying customer. I have visited Planet Fitness locations all over the country and can honestly say this ranks as the worst experience I have ever had at any gym.

Planet Fitness promotes itself as a “Judgment Free Zone,” yet my experience was the exact opposite. If this is how members are treated, especially when unwell, then management needs to seriously reevaluate how their staff interact with paying customers. I am extremely disappointed and expect this incident to be addressed.

This particular location has some of the friendliest staff I have experienced and is a clean gym. It breaks my heart to not give five simply because of needed equipment upgrades. The whole black area you can just skip. Two hydro beds that are flat. No incline options. They are nicely worn in by years of diabetes and if you weigh less than 200 pounds you probably won’t feel it. The massage chairs are from 2000”s. The old hurty coin operated ones with no air fusions your father probably used. Charm goes a long way, but is no substitute for updated equipment.

Lots of space to work out in & a younger crowd works out here typically, given that USF is nearby. The 24/7 hours are very convenient & most of the staff are friendly & willing to help with anything you need. Showers in the locker room could be cleaner but body wash/shampoo is provided in them so that's a decent plus. Located off HART bus routes 6 & 48

Gym is one of the worse for people. They use multiple machines and equipment at one time so others can't use them. You can never get on the smith machines because people stay on them to to do all their body parts sometimes for more than an hour each time. There is no gym enforcement of the rules. Never going to this PF location again. The employees who are working between 3:00pm and 4:00pm on 07/27/25 were not inviting or acknowledging anybody walking in. Both of them were more focus being on the phone like their lives depended on it rather than saying “hello” like other PF locations that I have been too. The whole vibe there is just off and mid. I had to leave mid workout just cause I didn’t feel comfortable there. You’re better off going to the PF in Bears or MLK. It’s a whole different vibe over there and more fun and more spacious.

I've been using the Planet Fitness on Fowler Ave for about 5 years and I'm very happy with them. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the equipment is great. I don't use the showers or locker room very much, so I can't speak to that, but it's a great place to get a good workout.

I usually don’t leave reviews but felt this needed one, I’ve only had the gym membership for a few days, but had a bit of a questionable experience today. I was on the stairmaster and I was told by an older lady with gray hair and glasses that I should stop stomping as hard on the stairmaster, and that it may break. I was walking on it normally on 15 speed, doing 30 second HIIT segments. I took some offense to that anybody that knows anything about these machines would know that it takes a whole lot more than 165 pound 5 foot four male using the stair master normally on a high speed to break it. I don’t understand what’s the point of going to a gym if the staff stop in the middle of your workout.
I wanted this gym membership because it was close to the house, but I might actually go to crunch now. What’s the point of paying for a membership if people complain about you using the machines? In my many years of working out this is the first time this has happened. I used to be very overweight, and telling somebody with body dysmorphia that you may break the machine is insane.

One of your afternoon staff (female, short brown hair, glasses, white) who was having a 15min conversation with her friend who was on a machine had the audacity to tell me to take my phone conversation to the lobby. Unbelievable. The lights are too bright in the morning and the cables aren't smooth and neither is the assisted pull up machine. The morning staff is awesome! Love Asher and Leslie!

This gym is a great place strength and cardio exercise in a friendly environment. They have great equipment, helpful staff, and optional amenities for premium membership (massage chairs, hydro beds, tanning booths, etc). I recently started going to this gym and decided to buy the gym essentials bundle. It was terrible, the slippers broke the second time i wore them, the towels was more of a small rag then an actual towel, the bag is made out of very thin cheap crappy material and the zippers broke after a few uses. The only good thing was the lock and even that was made out of cheap material. I spent 33$ in total and i was better off throwing them in the trash.

Just an okay gym. My main gripe is that they do not fix the equipment in a reasonable timeframe. They have four stairmasters and three have been down for over 2 months. Repairs take forever. I started going to the Planet Fitness on Waters because that’s not an issue there. Newer equipment and better management. There’s two employees that I would like to highlight which is the black guy forgot name I think Brandon with glasses with short cut in the morning is a very professional and great employee treats everyone with fairness and respect 🫡. Also , the Spanish guy overnight wears a cap 🧢 is great only employee in all planet fitness that I go to asks me how long do I want on massage chair very smart and respectful individual. Now message for the middle age Caucasian women that work morning. They have a very uptight and dismissive Demeanor like they hate their job and life and it shows they don’t greet me when I come in and leave and do stare at people like if they are not apart of gym . When I came in they looked at me like I came to rob the place and I gave them my information and they could clearly see I was a VIP member the massage tables require coins and she did not tell me the front counter three people made me feel real uncomfortable. The equipment that I see on Waters avenue in largo Jim is not the same as this gym. They did not have the equipment like the other gyms in the restrooms were disgusting. They were looking at me so hard when I asked for a session on the massage tables all three of them which was working that same shift was staring at me so hard I had to say isn't this a no zone atmosphere. As I pointed to the sign and said this is where I belong right? So why all of you are looking at me like this. They didn't say nothing they just stopped looking. Then the lady behind the front counter asked me twice was this my home gym and I told her twice it wasn't. I let her know that I just moved in the area in this gym is more convenient for me. I had to tell her that twice and I let her know that she asked me that two times already but I was wondering what does it really matter if you can pull my name up in the computer and see that I'm a VIP member for years now so I can go to any gym I want to? I frequent this branch because of proximity from apartment and university. General rating:
Equipment/machine: 3/5. Crunch had more and better machines.
Staff: 3/5 if the staff were the guys. They’re not as friendly as the ladies. Ladies 5/5!
Locker room/Shower Area: 2/5. Dirty and smells most of the time
Crowd: i go between 10-4 weekdays. Not too crowded.
Massage room/extra facilities: 5/5. I think one of the reasons why i chose PF aside from proximity. I just wish they could accommodate more time for massage chairs if no one is using them.

Everyone at Planet Fitness have always given me encouragement/a positive place to go when I was on my own at one point and just needed to work out to improve my mental/physical health by working out. I have had several bad experiences with a lady by the name of CARMEN she's spanish or Asian but the lady lacks proper customer service skills and claims she's been there for 10 years because she follows the rules honestly you guys will be losing more and more customers due to her inability to be kind and respectful she's actually the complete opposite me Being the business owner that I am I would have fired her a long time ago. She will continue to cost you guys money and ppl will continue to leave your gym.

Equipment was in good sha pe. The AC didn't work well. It was warm and stuffy by the Smith Machines.
