This gym is excellent. It's large, clean, and organized. The locker room contains a steam room, multiple showers, and is always clean. The gym itself contains 3 squat racks, a tall set of stairs, tons of dumbbells and barbells, tons of ellipticals, treadmills, and stairmasters. There's 2 rowing machines, a stretching area, a TRX area, 2 punching bags, a rock wall and a sand pit. Next there's a large open space to push sleds, work in plyometrics, and more. There is also an outdoor tire flipping/battle ropes area too. There's more equipment on the floor but I'm just trying to get the highlights.
There is a parking garage for the gym and the first two hours are free. I go to this gym anytime between 9am and 2pm and it doesn't get overcrowded. There's some serious body builders and figure competitors for sure. The staff is really friendly, the guy whom works the desk, Dan, is a great guy. Also, there's a lot of classes to take and they come included in the price of your membership. PHG offers numerous discounts. I definitely recommend buying a year's worth membership as it will come out much cheaper than paying by the month in the long run. This is a 5 star gym.

Power House Gym is a serious heavy duty gym with football player grade professional equipment for lifters looking to take their workouts to the next level. When you visit, make sure to sign-up right away because you get a huge discount if you do and sign up for a year contract. If you only sign up your second time you will pay much more. Powerhouse plays great music but their speakers are kind of crappy so it doesn't sound so great. If you like playing your own music on headphones you will have a hard time hearing it over the music blaring here. Some call this the Jersey Shore of gyms lol

This gym is quite impressive with its size and equipment... there are many opportunities to build quality muscle here. Special thanks to Jorge Vazquez (JV) for keeping the space immaculate..and for providing a very respectful and homely vibe that made me feel comfortable being there. Only reason I did not give 5 star is for lack of management to keep things organized... and HIDDEN FEES. Aside from that, you can make the most of your workout here.

Powerhouse is an awesome place to train. There is an amazing amount of equipment for any interest or fitness level. From beginner to professional, whether your interest is in bodybuilding, powerlifting, crossfit, cardio, or specialty classes, there is something for you. The best part I have found about Powerhouse is the people, both the staff and members. From the first day everyone was welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Everyone is there to train. There are some awesome athletes there that at first may look intimidating, but if you give them a chance, they are the ones that are the most helpful.

The gym has horrible managment. If you try and cancel your membership they will ignore your emails and charge you anyways. And then send your account to collections for thousands of dollars. DON'T SIGN CONTRACTS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!

Do not join this gym !! It is filled with jocks, someone nearly punched me for no reason - simply because there was a line at the water cooler and I happened to be in front of him. Obviously droid rage.

Additionally I am getting charged 8 months after I cancelled my membership and I am having to fight them.

Avoid like plague.

I will have to say that PowerHouse Gym is an amazing place. The staff is on point when you come into the building and are willing to help you out. They greet you as you come into the gym making you feel like you are not just a number to them. I am grateful for what they have done for me, and the support that they have given me as well. There is no other better place to workout in my mind here in Tampa Bay. The atmosphere is amazing, as many of the member will come up and say hello, and are willing to help you out when you need it!

Best gym in Tampa on all fronts. Corporate gyms just want your money regardless of the experience. This is family owned and operated.

Nice facility as far as hard core gyms go but they will rape you on a membership and throw hidden fees at you right and left. Location is poor.................if you have a condo at Channelside you are OK. Other than that you have a rough crowd mixed with a wanna-be Kardashian society. Equipment seems to be kept up. 2 stars is very very generous...........................

Avoid this place- poorly managed, outrageous HIDDEN fees. a looooot of unethical business practices. Never again.... Even after I stopped going there they kept charging fees only because I signed up somewhere between August 2013 and August 2014, at least that's what the manager (Matt) said. Ugh! Hated it

get ready to start paying for no reason. You will be charge a lot more than what you should pay. Employees and owners are just looking for the money. They don't care about you, they only care about the cash they're taking from you.

I only have one qualm. Look carefully at the contract before you sign it. Apparently, you pay an annual fee, that is charged in August... but if you end your membership before then and it's within the same calendar year... expect the fee in August. Kinda sucks to get billed as much as 7 months after ending a gym membership, so those who are pinching their pennies be mindful. Otherwise, good gym, nice machines and very friendly staff.

Amazing club!...best in all of Tampa bay by far. I hesitate giving a positive review because it may lead to too many more members! Lol
I do get the parking complaints however. Maybe they can just validate tickets or something.

If it weren't for the parking stress I would definitely give this club a full 5 stars.

All 3 owners have gone out of their way at some point to help me out!! Look forward to many more great years here. I just hope I can afford it!

Powerhouse gym located near Channel Side in Tampa is the best gym in the area. It is designed to meet the needs of people who workout really hard, as well as they have a unique variety of equipment both cardio and weights. Last, the staff and people at Powerhouse are very friendly, it is clean, and there is a certain level of RESPECT that people have in there for those who workout hard that I have not found at any other gym. I'm thankful that Powerhouse is open and a great option for me as I enjoy working out daily and being able to challenge myself physically which I can do there!

I started working out at Powerhouse over 4 years ago and it was great. After my first contract ended I signed up for a month-to-month 2 year contract. It all went down hill in the first year of my second contract, over crowding lack of care and the owners only caring about the money. It became a night club that featured weight machines. Now 3 months after my contract ended I am hit with a annual fee. I reviewed my contract and left it open for "interpretation" well needless to say it's easier to just pay it then fight it. I would consider Powerhouse a terrible kindergarten vs. a good gym. No one cleans up after themselves or share. I am extremely happy with my switch to LA Fitness and would advise anyone to go to any gym other then Powerhouse.

This place blew my friends and I away! We visited Tampa for a track meet at USF. They got it all! Ropes, bumper plates, chains, tires, sledgehammers, everything! I'm over 6' and 230lbs. There were guys in there that were huge! House of Champions for sure! The Southern MECCA! The staff was very polite. We were treated like family! Loved the fact that there was lots of women and regular peeps. Not a meat head crowd. Upscale for sure! Loved the steam room and towel service. Took a spin class and the wife took a Les Mills class! Best gym in the country. Got to try the chocolate peanut butter smoothie! Had egg whites and brown rice with veggies at their smoothie place right there in the gym! Really? Where can you do that? Not even at GOLDS VENICE CA!
