Always clean, great staff and trainers. I love that there are so many different ways to work out here. Great variety of free weights and machines. Highly recommend for every age group.

Premier Health & Fitness Center is hands-down one of the best gyms in Tallahassee! The facility is always clean, well-organized, and has everything you need β from top-notch weight and cardio equipment to group classes and a great pool. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The trainers are knowledgeable and always willing to help you with form or a workout plan.

29sept25: I have decided to give Premier Gym a try, I paid for the Summer membership from June to September 2025. I was drawn to this gym because I had heard it had swimming pools, I love to swim.
My experience: I enjoyed this gym, the staff is mostly friendly as you enter the building and throughout. I have to give shout-outs to the young woman (worked in the early mornings, has braids I believe) and the young man (tall with brown hair) who always said hello to me and answered any questions I had. Also, shout-out to the gym cleaner also friendly and said hello (chatted about our beautiful Black Natural hair).
Pros -- the two swimming pools, I loved swimming and thank you to the lifeguard and a couple of frequent swimmers answering my questions on improving my swimming technique. Variety of areas to the fitness gym to workout. Clean gym. Good customer service. I love the exercise equipment Jacob's Ladder, first time seeing it and I used it consistently. Steam room and Sauna are comfortable (twice utilized). The run/jog track is great condition (be careful because individuals just walk in any of the lanes instead of following the lane rules, I run and sprint as well as do another movement on the track so those individuals move out of the way soon, ha!).
Cons -- the swimming pool with the lanes constantly busy so I work out early morning and had to jump in the pool immediately when the building opened then go workout in the gym afterwards, all before I dressed and went to work. Also, no coverage for pools so weather conditions would close the pools often. The exercise equipment is decent condition and some need updates. Gym hours is not helpful to someone like me who works full-time employment, I would have liked a couple of days with 24/7 hours. Gym location is far so it cuts into my fitness time as well as work time. The Premier Gym app is decent, needs more interactive improvement. I am a USAF active duty Veteran and no discount provided.
Overall review -- the main thing is the cost of this gym compared to my pros and cons is not worth it for me. Out of five stars, I give it a 3 and a half.
Thank you,
Tara G.

The front desk dude was cool and the guy from the the tour was nice. But whoever decided to give military discount ONLY to active duty is not the smartest. What place doesnβt give military discount to veterans, reservists, or national guard when thereβs not even an active military base nearby? EMT and First Responders get one, but not a veteran? Gym was equivalent to Leach from FSU if you couldnβt make it down there, but at $60 a month at the cheapest option.

Great facility with more options than most gyms in TLH. Machines are pretty tight though. Weekend hours are too limited. The community is why I keep going back though, friendly people with so much fitness knowledge in one place.

Emily has absolutely terrible customer service and was extremely dismissive and rude towards paying customers like myself. I've been paying $76 a month for 10 months without going to the gym after a car accident, today I went to shoot the basketball on one goal, and was rudely asked to leave after the power went out. Emily in the front desk staff or administration wouldn't look me in the eyes, had sparky remarks and no sympathy when I brought up the fact I've paid over 700$, without ever coming, I come one time and I'm asked to leave I can't just shoot the basketball on one goal. She said her name was Emily. Everyone else was very kind and understanding. Props to the rest of the crew.

Lockers with built in combination locks available.
As of February 2025, $18 for a day pass.
2nd floor has a track.
Separate yoga, fitness, and cycle rooms.
Free weights, cardio machines, indoor basketball court, and out door pools.
Facilities and equipment are a bit dated, but solid nonetheless.

Probably the best-equipped gym in Tallahassee, with pricing to match. Locker/changing room excellent, spacious, clean, well-maintained. Generally courteous atmosphere.
Just returned after a while away and was pleased that the MUSIC VOLUME in the main floor gym area is now MUCH LOWER (QUIETER) than it used to be. MUCH MORE RELAXING, so you can focus on your workout!

Nice facilities. Extremely expensive.
If you're going to cancel make sure you do it A MONTH in advance or they'll immediately charge you for the next month and say you "have the flexibility to come in until the end of the month." π Billing is the 10th but they process memberships on the 1st. Apparently. I was informed that I should have canceled on the 17th of the month prior. None of this was explained to me when I signed up for a month-to-month membership to see if I would be able to come often enough to justify a longer-term membership cost. I'm extremely unhappy and will never consider Premier again, even if my fitness goals change. Another gym will be getting my business.

Please, please, somebody open a gym with a basketball court other than Premier! There's probably hundreds of members spending double what they should ($60+/month), all because this is the only gym with an indoor court. Wondering if Premier has lobbyists preventing competition since an Amped Fitness franchise (who traditionally has a basketball court) opened without one.

Please fix the hot tub!
Trying to be nice believing what Premier's management says about the hot tub improvements. But, we find apparently conflicting information with respect to what they have told us. Recently, on May 31, 2024, the building permits office was questioned about the status of the hot tub, which is public information. It appears the ball has been on Premier's side of the court for more than a moment, now. Here is what we found:

This fitness center is HUGE. Iβm talking spacious locker rooms, a cafe, a pool with lap lanes, an indoor track, basketball and racquetball courts and a massive cardio/weight area. I canβt speak for the classes they offer, but there are quite a few and a lot of people seem to go to them.
Premier Is more expensive than other fitness establishments in Tallahassee but it comes with many benefits other places donβt have.

Iβm moving so I had to cancel my membership. I was charged for an extra month when I went to cancel because I was 1 day off of their β2 week cancellation windowβ. Iβd understand if I was doing it the day before, but 13 days seems like plenty of notice to cancel my membership. It does not seem right to make me pay 100$ for a service I wonβt be able to use at all because I wonβt live in Tallahassee anymore.

Premier fitness and health, I will obtain an attorney and I look froward to my attorney representing me in court against the racist ideologies, the discriminatory, bias, aggressive treatment from your staff.
The moment I walked into your facility, I have treated everyone with respect. And was unaware of any confrontational or disrespect I shown to any member of your staff. Mr. Owner, your allegations are ridiculously.
I will not allow you or anyone else to tainted my image. You judge me because you thought I was homeless, and financially strapped.
You will be held accountable for your actions. I will not be setup from previous conversations you might have had with a prior fitness center I once was a member in which I have attorney in that case as well.
Your cameras will show my respect and no malice against anyone at premier. Good day!

Just canceled my membership due to them charging me a late fee because my credit card was placed on hold, by the bank for a fraud alert. Even though we have been long term members, they would not waive the fee since this happened before, 5 years ago. Seriously? This really does happen to people! Every other subscription that is on my cards were nice enough to pick up the phone and call me to get the new number without charging a fee. Bottom line is if they need the $25 more than they need my business, then I am happy to find another gym. It is a good thing they are supported by TMH since that business model would never fly otherwise.

A little pricey gym but itβs worth paying for sauna, steam room, several pools. However I donβt like couple things: they close at 10 Monday to Thursday, at 9 at Friday and earlier at weekends so itβs sometimes hard to get there and work out comfortably after a workday, also lots of lockers are rented out and I always struggle to find a vacant one and I think that most of reserved ones are nor really used most of the time.

Premier is a traditional American gym that has everything. Weights, machines (although bit old, but well maintained), basketball, racketball, lap pool, aerobics pool, steamroom, and just about every fitness class you can think of like yoga to TRX. The lockerooms are clean with shower. The culture is very friendly with a good mix of people from serious bodybuilders, high school students just starting out, and retired couples trying to keep fit. No judgment, come as you are and dont be afraid to ask for some help.

Premier Health & Fitness Center is a perfect example of an organization who clearly takes it members for granted. Sure, they have a nice facility and they are centrally located, but at no time do they actually care about you as a member. You are just a number and just someone they see as dumb enough to pay their overpriced fees. So, if you want to overpay for a gym, and be treated like cattle, Premier is for you. I urge you to not make the same mistake I did for 3 years. They are not worth it, and you, as a paying customer, are worth more.

I love the gym and the staff, but for being the most expensive place we should get more. Two months after signing up they notify us that they no longer include classes as part of the membership. So, I still am required to pay full price and get less than what I was initially promised.
Additionally, the hours could be better. Close at 9 on the weekends and 11 on weekdays instead of 7pm and 10pm. For 20 a month I could go to a a 24 hour gym, I pay more than double that and feel like the only benefit we get is a pool and an indoor track

We have been members for a few months now, mostly because of convenience. We originally loved their racquetball ball courts, but now they are down to one. Their equipment is older, and seems to stay broken once they go down. Family swim has also been taken away. But, all in all, you can get a pretty decent workout done.
Biggest issue with Premier? Lack of cleanliness. Sooooo many people using machines and not wiping them down before or after. And no encouragement or influence to do so from staff. Between covid and just general germs, this is disgusting. I don't know know if it is ignorance or laziness, but the wipes and towels are there and people just don't seem to care. I can't even imagine the amount of germs and virus and is getting spread. Staff will see and just say nothing, nor do they come over and wipe it down. Now I have to wash anything there before I touch it knowing cleanliness is not encouraged. Truthfully you could just compare the germs on the equipment to a public bathroom.

They took advantage of my son's disability for financial gain. My son has a mental disability. Subsequently, I manage his accounts for him. Knowing that he would not remember to notify them in a timely manner, I notified Premiere via email that his membership needed to be cancelled. No one responded to my email and the continued to withdraw funds from his bank account. When I asked for the funds to be returned to him they claimed that we needed to have completed a form by a certain date. They acknowledged that they received my email and that they did not have the professionalism to respond to make me aware of any additional steps that needed to occur. Nevertheless, they refuse to refund my son's money. What makes this worse is that my son lives on a fixed income and can not afford to loose this money for services he has not benefited from.

The staff are great but managment are not very forward thinking. I have graduate degrees in sports administration so I'd like to think I know a little about this topic and can provide some perspective.
Premiere is the best facility in North Tallahassee. It is also pretty much the only facility too, aside from Forest Meadows which I wouldn't even count. But, if an LA Fitness came to town it would put them out of business pretty quickly.
If you're a swimmer you have few other options. If you lift weights, there are plenty of places with equitable equipment and probably better equipment if you're willing to travel a little further. If you play basketball, you can play pickup on their two small courts. I witnessed staff having to break after fight yesterday, so bear that in mind. If you play racquetball, you'll have to limit yourself to one court even though they are actually three courts there. They are gradually removing them citing lack of use, but I've never seen any instruction, any rules, or any type of effort to promote the sport. Basically, unless you already know how to play it looks like an empty box. They're also used to be pickleball too, which is the fastest growing sport in the US, but it looks like that is a thing of the past as well.
In my opinion, Premier is expensive for what you get. I understand that there is a pool to maintain, but in the 18 months I've been there, I've not seen any effort to update equipment. Again, if one of the larger chains came into Tallahassee oh, I think this club would be in danger of losing a lot of customers. I went to Premiere to play racquetball, but the loss of another court, not to mention I cannot invite friends to play because the court floors are not regularly cleaned or maintained, means I'll be moving to another facility. A sad tale. Premiere was conveniant to me, but in the end I'd rather drive further for better.

Iβve been a member for a number of years now. While I joined mainly for racquetball I also used the entire facility. In that entire time Iβve never seen any kind of promotion for racquetball but amazingly enough have been asked by people that walk by and watch us play about how to play. The place started with 3 courts when I joined and is down to 1. Not because of a lack of interest from members but the facility/staff doesnβt support it in my opinion. The gym/weights area has also declined tremendously Iβm not sure if itβs since COVID but there is truly a change in how they take care of the place all around

Would have given a five star but they are making it harder and harder to be a member. Other gyms are not as nice with amenities but getting to do the group classes is almost a wish now. They won't add more classes so their members can get into them. There is most time 5 to 11 waiting list 3 days out . You have to go through apps to register,, then temp check then Scan and also re-register AGAIN THAT IS NOT near the area you are going to, before you get in the class. The worst part is other gyms don't force you to wear a mask. At this point. It's a hassle and stressful. The governor says there is no mandate, but some businesses refuse to let you in without one. It's time to move on. Most have their vaccine, covid rate is low and those that want to keep a mask can keep on but others see it as useless.

I enjoy my early morning workout with friendly staff. The aerobic pool isn't as warm as it used to be in the mornings which sucks, but everything else there is clean, in good repair and it's the best fit for me for a gym. My favorite person there is Bob- so if you see him, smile big! He's the guy who kept the pool warm enough until they told him not to. He'd always check on us to be sure we were all set. Overpriced. I got a membership over the summer because I needed a lap pool closer to home compared to the public one. Every time I went the pool either had bandaids in it or it was dirty. The pools are consistently busy and you will be sharing a lane majority of the time. Most of that lane sharing is going to be with a person that is water jogging, but everyone needs to exercise and they paid for the pool too. They usually empty the hot tub every few weeks to clean it but it doesn't get filled timely. There were more than a few times I didn't see a lifeguard the entire swim.

I would have given it at best 2 1/2 stars. It has most if not all functions that you can expect from a gym. But here is where it all ends. Upper and lower body workout machines are antiquated, going back 15-20 years at least. Reupholstering does not change it. I just came back from Philadelphia where I joined a gym for 1 month. The equipment there was far more advanced. Also, Premier cleanliness is mediocre. Swimming pool and hottub are broke quite often. Walking track is worn out. To summarize, it seems like the gym including it's management need a rejuvenation.

It's been updated and painted. The restroom changing rooms are fancy.
The staff are nice. There are a lot of seniors. The price is reasonable.

Premier gym is by far the best and cleanest gym in town and staff are great. I have been training with brandon for a couple of months and he is very good and is getting me too my goals. I definitely recommend Brandon if your looking for a trainer to help motivate you and to help reach your goals.

Excellent gym and fantastic personal trainers. I have been working out with Brandon Roberson for several months and have seen incredible results. Brandon challenges me, keeps me motivated, and inspires me to keep working consistently towards my fitness goals. He has an upbeat and cheerful personality that makes it actually fun to work out. I would highly recommended Brandon to anyone looking for a trainer - you will see results! The child care staff are also terrific and my children really enjoy going.

I joined Premier last year and immediately took advantage of all the many facets they have to offer. I met with Shannon Moore, Premier's registered dietician, she helped me sort out the food part of my life. Then, on her recommendation, I met with Brandon Roberson. Brandon is a Personal Trainer at Premier. I actually feel like I am slighting him with that title. He is so much more than my trainer. He is my coach. He is my cheerleader. He is my game changer. He reminds me that I can achieve more. I know for a fact I would have never gotten as far as I have without his consistent encouragement, although some mornings it does feel like punishment ;-) Thank you, Brandon and Shannon and really, all the staff at Premier for creating such a welcoming environment and culture. #gottahaveit

Great location and equipment. I have been working out with Brandon Roberson, one of the premier trainers, for several months and he has really challenged me, taught me more about weight training and helped me reach fitness goals. He is great!

The price is high, but the facility is nice. There's plenty of equipment, but as with most gyms, you've got groups of patrons that just ruin it... too many people taking up multiple pieces of equipment and just talking, instead of lifting.
Update after a year:
I became disgruntled and left when they removed family swim. My wife and I used to love taking our daughter to the pool, during the small couple-hour window on Saturdays. We both had memberships and were both paying for this amenity... very disappointing to have a feature taken away.
On the other side of the coin, the "play-care" is top notch. So while my daughter is not allowed to enjoy family swim any longer, she is able to play with her friends while my wife works out. We can trust the workers in the day-care area, and feel it is a safe system. This is the primary reason my wife kept her membership.
I now workout elsewhere.

Was there for about 15 minutes for business with the sign-in front desk staff. Very professional and helpful. People leaving and who had been working out seemed pleased yet tired. Didn't go into gym, exercise areas, pool, or changing rooms.

One of the better gym facilities I've been to. They constantly keep everything very clean and are always upgrading equipment. Everyone is nice and respectfull. (No judging at this gym) Which is a plus for whomever is looking to start their fitness goals as soon as possible.

Seriously the best gym in tally should be 24 hours. We have to be serious about our health especially considering this is the TMH foundation, most hospital personnel work during the day.

I am impressed with the facility, running track, pool etc. I found the staff who works there nice. However, here are some things I did not like. They close at 10 PM on weekdays and 6PM on weekend which is early IMO for about $60 per month membership fee. Also, takes very long to fix if something gets broken. In the showers soap containers are often out of soap. Sometimes I like to chat with others there, above are the common concerns they talk about. I'd recommend the management do an online feedback/satisfaction survey to better address the low points.

Lots of well kept equipment. The staff is always super helpful even for making suggestions for different services. I've gotten a massage for my back pain with a recommendation of masseuse from the front desk; Had an upbeat cardio workout in Power Barre with Becky; and had my little sister in the daycare center as well with not problem. We always get the whole family there and there's something to do for everyone.
