I love coming here. They hold me accountable. Build me up and they have safe workouts that I can do at my own pace that are still really intense! They're short and sweet so you feel really productive and I just keep feeling stronger and stronger. I love the inbody scan and I love that. If there was a 10 star option, I would give that. Rock Solid is exceptional. You are constantly challenged. The trainers have all your information each time, so machines are already set up, allowing you to move quickly through the routine and keeping your heart rate up. They regularly assess your progress and workouts become increasingly challenging, so you never feel bored. They really listen and act on your workout preferences and are wonderful for safely exercising you around any injuries or physical limitations. Yes. It is expensive but even just once a week has provided great results and the friendly, knowledgeable trainers make every session a delight. I highly recommend!

Two months in with their small group personal training program and I am seeing real results in muscle tone and strength gains from 2 weekly 30 min sessions. I am a busy professional so this is perfect for my schedule and Patty and her trainers (Matt, Nino and Stephen) are knowledgeable and encouraging. I would never push myself this hard on my own but they do, which is why the short sessions are so effective. Being strong makes life better on so many levels and Rock Solid Fitness is helping me get stronger with every workout!

Update: I am now 10 months in with consistent workout sessions with the Rock Solid Fitness team. I show up and they tell me how to do all the heavy lifting! Honestly, I only love it when it’s over. But that is what it takes to get the results that make a difference. It isn’t just about looking good in sleeveless shirts and our favorite jeans, it’s about being strong and jumping up off the sofa or from sitting on the floor without a second thought. We take ease of movement for granted until we can’t. And nothing is more important. l keep getting compliments from friends and colleagues on how I am reverse aging asking what I am doing. I am doing this, twice a week for 30 minutes, consistently.

Rock Solid Fitness - ROCKS !
I’m a late 60’s retired guy from a high stress job who goes to the gym regularly but got stuck in the same old … same old, uninspired workouts ! I couldn’t face the fact I was babying myself and not working up a sweat:/) .
But that all change when I wondered into Rock Solid Fitness in Dunedin, my new home town. The combination of a 30 minute workout, twice a week was very appealing .
Little did I know everything was about to change. My coaches seemed to really care about my progress, their love of the art of manipulating your muscles for maximum gain and desire in making every second of your thirty minute workout payoff …impressed !
That coupled with their upbeat enthusiasm and encouraging manner were the winning formula for me !
I’m nearing the end off my second month and I’m seeing real results from my workouts which has given me confidence and the desire to live my best life.

I began to have episodes of lower back pain last Christmas after doing reformer Pilates for a couple of months. It ultimately became a daily/nightly issue. Despite 4 recent physical therapy sessions, it still was not improving. My back would actually hurt after PT. I found Rock Solid by a Google search and read the reviews. I had my free assessment and trial workout yesterday. I met with Stephen and Matt. After a lengthy discussion about my specific concerns, Stephen performed an evaluation of my hip alignment and saw that things were off—he guided me through several exercises and then reevaluated, finding a marked improvement. They also had me use the lumbar machine among a few others.

Not sure if it was the hip alignment correction, lumbar machine, or a combination but during the night the lower back pain was noticeably absent. It is almost 6pm as I am writing this and I have gone all day without the pain. Just a nice all over mild soreness from a good workout.

***One Month UPDATE***

My back pain did recur initially, but each of the trainers knew how to check my alignment (one leg would present longer than the other) and would help me with specific exercises (5x5) that would bring immediate relief before my workout. I was able to do them at home a few times as well. However it has been several weeks since I have needed to do this.

I NO LONGER HAVE BACK PAIN!!!

I even just traveled on 3 flights (2 were back-to-back (no pun intended)), and NO PAIN!!

As a 3 year member of RSF I highly recommend this business. I love their philosophies and their staff. I get the maximum out of each workout. At other gyms I have had trainers listen like bartenders to people’s life stories and that’s why I wouldn’t train at other gyms. One of my favorite things about RSF is that each staff members trains me with a different skill and viewpoint. Nino gets inside my head and pushes me to my max, not talking too much but places his encouragement strategically. Matt is the king of microadjustments whether it is the machine or your form getting you to the right place for maximum effort. Stephen taught me how to maximize my breathe to boost my effort. I use these techniques at every workout and they are a gamechanger. Patty, the owner utilizes her knowledge of physical therapy with a keen eye for observation to push you. I am addicted in a healthy way to the RSF workouts and am working at the highest level of 5/5 maximum effort. (That’s why the overuse of the word maximum)

Ok, you want the all inclusive package, go here, it’s as good as it gets and worth everything you put in! Walk in, put your phone away, do a session designed just for you, high five 🖐️ your trainer, see ya in a few days and watch your life change with a smile knowing your living your best life! Not paid to say this… it’s real bro! ladies too ;) That said, being a gym goer for nearly 13 years, I have been astonished at the ease and effectiveness of the program offered as well as the personal attention to detail from every single trainer here. Do it! Seriously, I’ve been the person at the gym 6 days a week, 1-2 hours a day and yes, that works, but what I’ve discovered is this twice a week, 30 mins each sesh program …. Works as well if not better and saves me up to 11 full hours grinding at the gym alone. I can’t say the alternative doesn’t work, it does, but here’s the best part for me, you have to do everything yourself at the gym, plan the workout(research and develop), keep track of weights, reps and difficulty… go to the gym with a ton of people taking up the machines you have planned to use(then in the fly adapt) and your focus has to be on point to make actual progress. Like I said, I did it for 13 years… and it works, but it’s a ton of extra work.
Compare that to showing up, and doing the workout with your personal guide and trainer, nothing else??? Yeah, DO IT!

What a great experience I had. I am vey familiar with the gym and exercising. The staff new just what they were doing and got me and incredible work out in a short amount of time. It would be hard to get a better work out in less time. And the InBody machine they have is totally awesome. I will go back occasionally just for that alone. It tells you so much about your body in literally a few minutes. I didn't even know this technology was available for such a low cost. I would pay far more just for the testing that was done. I have been working with Rock Solid Fitness for about two months. I love their program, just 2 times per week and I have seen positive changes in my body as a result. I went into Rock solid a little skeptical. I’ve been in many gyms in the past and did not expect that this would be any different to any one of the others.

The fist thing I noticed was the personal experience. The staff there are genuinely happy to see you. They care !

When I got into the exercises I noticed the second thing. The devices they are using are different from any I had tried in the past. They seem to be designed to work the muscles through a much larger range of motion. I felt like my muscles were working throughout the rep.

The best thing though is the one to one experience. The coach got more out of me than I would have ever given in my own and kept me being safe throughout. She wouldn’t let me compromise my form in order to complete the exercise, all the while pushing me to my limits.

Try a class! You’ll see for yourself how beneficial an exercise routine like this set up can be for you.

My 13 year old son started with the youth program at Rock Solid Fitness about 2 1/2 months ago. My son competes at a high level in Jiu Jitsu and we were looking to get him some knowledgeable weight training to take him to that next level. We have definitely found that at Rock Solid! The instructors are kind and highly skilled with next level knowledge of what he needs to achieve his goals! They always push him to his full potential plus more and my son leaves there feeling strong and sore (in a good way)! In this last 2 months my son competed at one of the highest levels of Jiu Jitsu tournaments and came home with Gold! Yesterday I worked with Patty Durrell and participated in one 25 min session of RSF type training. Two minutes into the session it was very clear that Patty has a full understanding of the most important concept of exercise when we use it as a modality to achieve improvement in life or sport at any level. I was looking for a personal trainer that would be encouraging and help me achieve my fitness goals. I have tried the big gyms but felt I wasn't getting a good workout. Found Rock Solid Fitness on Google and really liked the idea of 2x weekly workouts that are efficient and effective. Drew explained the options, walked through a typical session and set me up with a free introductory workout. Nino, Stephen and Matt are great trainers. They explain the exercise, the benefits and keep me on good form. I quickly realized that I had not been using the weight machines correctly - not getting full range of motion, not putting on sufficient weight to challenge my muscles and poor form. The trainers talk you through the exercises and I've found that I am stronger than I realized and can take on more challenges. I've worked with all 3 trainers and all are very encouraging, particularly for out of shape newbies like myself. Rock Solid is not your cheapest option but I have wasted enough money on big gym membership fees. The training is focused, efficient and successful.

Stopped by this studio on a whim one day and boy am I glad I did. I was 4 months postpartum, struggling with weakness and hip and lower back problems. Called to speak about getting a personal trainer, Patti answered the phone, and was incredibly rude. She was so concerned about solicitation, she was evidently in the middle of a conversation with a client, and was upset at being interrupted. Maybe letting the phone go to message, give the client her undivided attention, and make callbacks later would have been a far better solution than being disrespectful and rude. Going with another fitness center and personal trainer, AVOID THIS PLACE AS LONG AS PATTI IS HERE!!!

EDIT: Patti called an hour later to apologize for her actions. While I truly appreciate her doing so ( I upgraded from 1 star to 3,) I still have no desire to work with Rock Solid Fitness, because I know if you're not a client, one is treated with contempt. Working out at Rock Solid has been a very positive experience for me. I am middle-aged and knew I needed to start weight training to stop losing (and build more) muscle. I also have been diagnosed with osteopenia, so I needed to build bone mass. Although I'm not super athletic, I realized I needed to do something.

I had never worked out in a gym before, so I was very nervous about it. This experience was perfect for me. Patty gave me a great intro session which immediately took my fear away and had me looking forward to more. She really listened to what my goals were and created a plan for me.

I've worked with her and many of the trainers at Rock Solid and they're all very skilled in training and stay very conscious of your form to protect you. I've learned a lot from them and I've never felt I couldn't do something with their guidance. They're also all a great bunch of people.

It didn't take long for me to start noticing results. The first thing I noticed was that I can climb stairs soooo much easier now. I also feel stronger in my body. As someone who is usually training for half and full marathons, I've always found it difficult to fit strength training in with my run schedule. At Rock Solid I get all of the strength training I need in two 30 minute sessions a week, it's super easy to fit into my schedule. I had never been to a high intensity training facility until I found Rock Solid fitness. Everything about it excels! The people who work there are kind and so positive. The coaches are educated with a B.S. or Masters degree, and as a result know how to build your muscles 💪 and advise you on nutrition. Love going to Rock Solid Fitness and training 1:1 with the staff. All of them are there to make sure you are exercising with the right form, so no injuries allowed! I love getting a half hour workout which addresses my muscles and doesn’t let me waste time on nonsense. The music is perfect for me - good tunes and not too loud. The place to shower is small but spotless. And the equipment all is in top shape. I never feel underdressed or uncomfortable because of my size and age. Parking is easy. None of the “massage chair” extra charge nonsense. The staff follow up and ask how you are feeling in addition to reminding you of your “self care” chores. Friendly accountability is the rule. I also like that they ask you how you like to be coached - I’m not into yelling or cheering, but I like to start the day by accomplishing something good. The people there make sure you do a good job for yourself and you know it!

Rock solid is different from any gym I've ever been to and a very different experience from personal trainers I've worked with. I was looking for a trainer that could watch my form like a hawk, really push me to get results, and who would take a back injury into consideration. I also didn't want to spend my life in the gym. I was surprised when I first visited Rock Solid and found that it really checked all my boxes.

The staff are all very qualified, they hold you accountable, educate you about your eating, sleep...etc. They are also fun to work with.

The plan is data driven, they have a system that gets results fast, and they don't get shy about pushing you along. I always leave sore, but in a good way....nothing injury related.

In my opinion, Rock Solid is great for people that don't want to be gym rats, want to gain strength the right way, and want that personal attention from people who know what they are doing and really seem to care about your health.

I've been a loyal customer for 5 years. The completely unexpected advantage that Rock Solid Fitness has is their business model of individualized training. When they thought they would need to suspend personal training due to the safer at home orders, they proactively reached out to set up virtual training, including determining what equipment would need to be shipped to me. But because of their small setting and thorough screening process they put in place, Rock Solid was able to maintain business during the safer at home orders. I never missed a workout. And I never felt unsafe being there.

Since my total left hip replacement surgery, RSF has guided me to obtain great gains in my flexibility for my legs and lower back. I hate exercise. The thought of it makes me want to grab a beer and a slice. But I'm a Rock Solid disciple. The trainers are actually professionally trained, not a bunch of gym rats who needed jobs. they hold you accountable for form and timing (you'll hear 2-up, 4-down in your sleep) and the result is I get a better workout in 30 minutes than I would spending 90 in a gym - who has that kind of time. I'm 66 and haven't aged gracefully so I've got bad knees, shoulder - if I were a horse I'd be in an Alpo can. The Rock Solid team designs a program to accommodate all of that. Each session begins with a run down of physical issues you may have. You can also get great nutritional tips because as they're fond of saying, you can't out-train a bad diet. I'm living proof of that. And you can get great wellness information from their monthly seminars. It's my one-stop shop for health.

My concerns going in to this is that it wasn't for me, a 37 year old who is use to going to a gym of dudes lifting hundreds of pounds.
