Row house was a very enjoyable place from May of 2020 until August of 2024 when ownership changed. Under the new ownership of Shane Ward, and the total lack of guidance from General Manager Summer Trent Garcia, Row House was run into the ground and locked their doors on November 8th, 2025. How to destroy a business in 15 months? Just ask Shane Ward and Summer Trent Garcia. They thought they knew EVERYTHING and from day one in the business, it was obvious that they knew nothing.

Chris was incredible! I had been on vacation for over a month, and getting back into the workout wasn’t easy, but he went out of his way for us, which meant so much.
JJ was also amazing—the best part of the session was that it felt like I not only had a trainer but also a life coach. His energy and inspiration made the experience unforgettable.

Row House is truly something special. The energy in the room is electric the moment you walk in, and the vibe stays with you throughout the workout. The staff is incredibly friendly and genuinely outgoing—it never feels forced or overdone. They create an environment that’s both welcoming and motivating, no matter your fitness level.
The workout itself is fantastic. Using the rowing machine gives you a full-body workout from head to toe, and I always leave feeling stronger, accomplished, and recharged. I started at the Rowhouse when invited by my nieghbor. There was an immediate feeling of being welcome and part of a community with the same goals in mind. I struggle with back pain which concerned me bc I have had a hard time finding something I could do to get a fantastic full body workout!!
I found it at the Row House and ever since my first visit I have been hungry for more. I made a commitment to be there 3 or 4 days a week.
The place is spotless. Equipment top of the line. The coaches are amazing and the rest of the staff the same!!
I have found a love for rowing.
I am so grateful for being invited by my neighbor and for all the people that help make Row House an incredible experience.
I know that after 15 years of trying different workouts that left me hurting and in pain that I have found my match. I know that I can get back into the shape I want to be in and achieve it with no pain. An answer to prayers!!
To those of you that don’t know this, rowing is the 2nd best thing to swimming. I can say from my experience, that no doubt it is the best workout I have had in a very long time!
The best part is that any one of any age can do it and you can make it your own!!

Rowing is a new activity for me which began at the Row House Lakewood in January 2025. I am hooked! Rowing is a full body workout stimulating the core and leg muscles. It is also an aerobic exercise but the intensity is up to you. There is no undue pressure to perform. The instructors are terrific! They motivate and inspire me throughout my workouts. The support staff is very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Row House rocks!

Row house is a great workout and a wonderful place. Everyone is fantastic. Arrica doesn’t know it but she’s my life coach and the voice I hear when I want to hit the snooze button instead of getting up to row. Our coach, Haley, was fabulous. She kept us motivated and made it fun too. It was a really good workout. There was another coach walking around and watching to be sure we were all doing it correctly. That was great because a few of us were new.

This was my first RowHouse experience and it was phenomenal! I am a 16-year rower who was not particularly fond of erging, until now! It was a great workout and I pushed myself sooooo much harder than any time I’ve erged by myself! I’ll definitely be a regular at RowHouse when I return in January! I’m an on water rower from out of town and have always found erging on my own to be pure drudgery and torture. Came to Row House hoping for a better experience, and they did not disappoint! Instructor and music made the 45 minute Full Row workout motivating and (dare I say it) actually fun! Will be sure to return to Row House UTC when I’m back in the Sarasota area.

I enjoy attending Row House regularly to exercise with "crewmates" on Concept II rowing ergometers. It is great exercise and fellowship as we are led by our trained coach to achieve individual goals. We leave each session with a euphoric form of fatigue that only rowers know.

Perfect workout! I've been going to Row House UTC for several months now. The owners are so warm and welcoming. The facility is extremely clean and comfortable. What I like about this particular workout/class is that it truly is for everyone at all stages of fitness. The initial instruction was plenty to understand form and equipment - very simple. They remind you of the importance of form during all classes - not just the first. The coaches are extremely motivating and clearly knowledgeable. I enjoy the time off the rower for floor exercises - even here, they cater to all levels of fitness and there are many variations for what you are comfortable with. The length of the class is perfect as well - 45 minutes. I've done many group classes that are one hour - sometimes can seem a bit long. The beauty of rowing is that it works so many muscles in your body that you do not need one hour - and you can push harder if you need more. Overall, it is always a wonderful experience and I am glad they are in the Sarasota area!

I came into RowHouse with zero experience or expectations. I’m glad to have joined in the summer while I can’t bare to exercise outside, which is my preference but weather dependent. Colleen is a very enthusiastic & motivating row coach. I have enjoyed the Restore classes due to the stretching in between rowing as well as the slightly less intense row pace. I feel I get a great work out and push myself more than I would outside of a class setting. Roberta & Kaylee at the front are always kind and welcoming. It’s no wonder the classes are almost always completely full. I recommend RowHouse!

Rowing on the erg is challenging but emotionally and physically rewarding. Once you get the stroke down, the movement gets smoother and more beneficial. My usual routine is three sessions per week and the total meters rowed vary on what my body allows me to accomplish. I recently breached three million meters... and all major milestones are great! RowHouseUTC is a super studio, with great owners, great counter staff and the coaches are phenomenal. Try it, you'll like it and your body will love you for i!.

I've just started coming here within the last month and love it! I am a 53 yo woman, not in great physical shape but have been doing a walking regimen for over a year. I'm not someone who enjoys going to the gym. But these workouts are fun! Very interactive, the coaches are great, it feels very inclusive and welcoming, not at all intimidating to get started. Back in the saddle!
Now that we've settled into our move, it was time to get the mind & body, back in sync. With the rising humidity, it's hard to get a good walk in, outside, so I needed to go back to basics. There's not a better way, than a rowing class of Colleen's. I can get a great workout, in an air conditioned room, with other teammates.......after all, we're all in the same boat.😂 We all want a good work out, without feeling, like you're going to faint from heat exhaustion. Colleen, works us hard, but she encourages us to drink our water constantly, during the 45 minute segment.
Once again, my energy level, and stamina is raised, and I'm re-ignited. It's another great day, to be alive, it feels really good.

I never did rowing before. I saw the ad for rowhouse and have been thinking about trying it for 6mos. I am not that active but wanted to find something that was full body workout but have fun doing it. I finally took the 3 free classes and I will say I felt so welcomed! The teacher of the class Maria explained everything showed us how to get set up and I literally was hooked! If you’re looking for a great workout that’s not overwhelming but fun. I highly recommend!

I was so excited to take my first rowing class and when I arrived I was greeted with outstanding customer service . They welcomed me and explained the pace of the class , how the machines work and showed me the proper form for the most effective physical outcome. I appreciated that because I surely didn’t want to hurt myself. I have slight lower back and knee issues and when I was done I didn’t feel any pain. It’s a total body work out, so get that epsom salt bath ready 😂

Rowing and exercising at Row House UTC is one of the best gifts I gave myself. The facility is immaculate and aesthetically pleasing. The owner and staff are friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. I’ve only worked with Coach Colleen so far. She’s a wonderful role model. She keeps the class - or should I say “crew” - focused and motivated. The equipment is in tiptop shape. I love reserving a time slot knowing I’ll have rower ready for me. The rower keeps track of my distance and splits then sends those stats to the app on my iPhone. I can’t wait to get back on the rower and work on improving my form and my splits!

I received a free class to the Row House. I had never done it and typically I work out from home but I thought I would give it a try and I have to say it is one of the best workouts I have done. It is engaging and I like the comradery of the class. It do MudGirls and Spartan races and I thought this would be a good challenge for my body to prep for an upcoming Spartan and I was right! I highly recommend rowing! It's a good heart healthy cardio to keep anybody in shape.

Really loved the atmosphere and unique classes that Row House provides. It’s an INCREDIBLE workout and it’s actually fun, yes the f word! It challenges you and motivates you to keep up and push yourself. Your class stats after every session are logged in their system where they email them to you or you can log into the app to check them out. This allows you to continually check your progress and always have a goal to crush your previous stats or stay steady. In addition, the owners and staff were beyond kind and so helpful. I will absolutely be returning for more and I can’t wait!!

I joined just over a year ago and have been very happy at Row House since. When I first signed up for introductory class I was very nervous as I had not exercised beyond walking in over 10 years. I was very excited after my first class, first that I was able to complete it and second because I felt it was a good challenging workout that I could actually do . It is only 45 minutes and you can begin slower, at your own pace and have the opportunity to consistently challenge your body and improve. The coaches are supportive and encouraging and the class is made up of all ages and sizes and exercising background..it really is a work out that fits anyones skill levels. I was pleased to have lost 15 lbs without changing diet over the past year and I know it’s from the calories I’m able to burn… very motivating! Also, they celebrate individual achievements and there are milestones you can strive to achieve.. also motivating and gives you a sense of pride I. Reaching them and feeling inspired while sometimes inspiring others. The owners are warm and make an effort to create an inviting environment and offer treats and surprises throughout the year during special days and holidays

This is my favorite cardio. It gives me a sweat and a goal. my BEST split time to date is 152. going for 149 now. I have only been here for a few months and honestly WORK TO MUCH and can't get here enough. But the VIBE is positive and the people are at all different levels and all are loved and encouraged. This is the best 45 min of the day!!!!!

Signed up for my second class at UTC, great experience rowing with the crew and getting encouragement by the coach and crew throughout! Arrica was an outstanding coach that pushed the class to get a great workout. I liked it so much I signed up for more and look forward to rowing with this welcoming crew. If you are worried about starting don't be I am 64 and while I got a great workout, I also felt like I fit in right away! Hats off to the coach and studio, this is a great place for anyone to start their journey back to fitness!

I have come to this establishment for almost a month now. I enjoy working out with our instructors as well as my classmates. I like the atmosphere and the environment. I have been at several other gyms in the past but the Row House makes me feel welcome and part of the group. Row house was fantastic. The customer service was way above par. I was given undivided time and attention for my first time and even got a welcome sign with my name on it placed on the row machine. The biggest problem is that it was VERY loud. Not just the music, the teacher's screeching was painful - and I had ear plugs in and in my experience I am not overly sensitive (just protective of my hearing, as we should all be!). I also didn't appreciate signing a waiver that said the coach had told me certain things - even before I met the coach! - and that she would address any injuries I had yet the coach didn't even ask me about injuries (I did bring it up) and got no feedback on my form throughout the time there (no one did). I was there for a free demo but had to leave half way through because of the loud and screechy volume. Probably a great experience if you don't care about these issues.

Boy! Are you missing out on fun. Do you want to work out your whole body? Then rowing is what you’ll love to do. You work out with your row mates which keeps you motivated; but wait—there’s also an instructor in the front of the class that plays all types of music that keeps you motivated and helps to keep the stamina going.
I joined a few months ago and I wouldn’t do anything else. You stretch, use weights; what more could you want then this perfect workout. The best thing for me is a more defined body and one heck of a good time.

I’m 63 years old and I’ve been going to the RowHouse for approximately one year now. Some of my friends from Pilates suggested I take Rowing in between my Pilates classes for a change. Well now I row three or four times each week, for approximately 50 minutes each class, to stay healthy and fit; without the constant pounding on my joints. The classes are awesome. You really get a workout and hardly even notice how hard you are working. The coaches are really professionals in what they coach. And they are ALL so much fun. I have met a bunch of members who feel exactly the same way as I do. It’s like a great big family. You never feel out of place.
The owners are great too. They are always around to talk and listen. And they work out in the classes too.
If you want to workout, but all those other gyms and classes are just not your thing, then I would definitely recommend Row House UTC. You will feel better, look better, and make a bunch of friends in the process.
