Seriously Strong Training specializes in helping fitness beginners learn the ins and outs of the gym, nutrition, and strength training. Our personal trainers work diligently to understand what you want to accomplish, what obstacles are in your way, and then work with you to develop the perfect plan to overcome those challenges. Our mission is to equip you with the skills and knowledge to feel comfortable and confident going to the gym. If you’re uncomfortable going to the gym, if you are worried about getting hurt, or if you need someone to hold you accountable and to teach you, this is the place for you.

Mark is a great trainer - knows his stuff and keeps things interesting!

The monthly check-ins and goal setting are great, and I'm seeing real results. Love the programming with constant changes to keep things fresh. The app makes everything easy to track too.

I love working out at Seriously Strong because of their one on one, Always knowing they’re right there spotting. I’m now lifting 100 pounds deadweight at age 74. My goal was to play Pickleball with strength and speed. Definitely improve my leg and shoulder strength. Pulldowns have my arms looking better and I just feel better. I know I wouldn’t have gotten here on my own, I just wouldn’t have stayed with it, but they make it fun at Seriously Strong.

When I first made an appointment for a free strategy session at Seriously Strong Training in St. Pete, I was honestly expecting to sign up for the fist month and then stop. I’ve now been training with my coach Mark since November 2024 (9 months) and I don’t want to quit.

From the moment I walked in to the gym I felt completely welcomed. I was greeted with a smile by all of the trainers. Everyone was so friendly and I got immediate good vibes. I had my initial strategy session with the director, Andrew, where we discussed my previous experience and my fitness goals. I could tell that Andrew truly cared about my experience and was very knowledgeable in his field.

My next session I started working with my trainer, Mark. I can’t say enough good things about him. Mark is incredibly intelligent and highly educated in strength training and nutrition and I am fully confident in his ability to tailor a plan that helps me achieve my goals. Even with my weird work schedule and eating habits, Mark was able to set my nutrition goals and tailor a workout program that works for me and I continually see the positive results at every monthly check in. I always look forward to our weekly sessions. I get a great workout in and always laugh and have fun throughout (even though I complain about everything he makes me do). My workouts that he creates for me to complete outside of our training sessions are always clearly laid out and easy to follow but continually challenge me to be better and lift heavier. Mark has helped me in so many ways in the last nine months and I feel so much better both physically and mentally after starting at SST.

I would absolutely recommend SST St. Pete to anyone. It really is a different environment than training at any big box gym. The atmosphere of the gym is extremely inclusive and non-intimidating and all of the trainers are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and they all know you by name. Seriously Strong Training (SST) is seriously the best gym ever!!

I got started with SST St. Petersburg in June 2024 and I’ve had a great experience working with strength coach Mark Torres. Thanks to Mark’s guidance and support, I’ve gained a significant amount of lean muscle while losing body fat since over the past year. The results I’ve gotten have translated into me feeling more confident in myself and healthier overall.

On my first day I met with Director of Operations / Head Trainer Andrew Cao to develop a game plan. Just like Mark Torres, Andrew is incredibly good at what he does and they are experts in the field of strength & conditioning. The same can be said for the other strength coaches, they all do a great job and are very well-qualified! Most importantly they are all good people. The gym is a very inclusive environment and I felt comfortable right away. I feel that it’s a great fit for anyone looking to get stronger or improve their overall fitness and body composition in general.

I’m grateful getting to work with Mark Torres and I know his other clients say the same. I meet with Mark every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 6-7am. Our sessions are a highlight of my week and I always feel amazing after. Outside of our sessions, Mark puts together easy-to-follow daily workouts for me to complete on my own at my gym that help me reach my fitness goals. Mark’s knowledge of exercises is unmatched.

Additionally, at the start of each month we do a monthly check in where I take an InBody test and we discuss my progress and both short-term and long-term goals. This is something that really sets SST apart from other gyms that offer personal training. Mark keeps me accountable in maintaining a healthy diet and monitoring my macros, which I really appreciate. I work in pro baseball and have a very busy schedule. Mark has helped me tremendously in making the most out of my free time to get my workouts in and having a healthy lifestyle.

While I’ve worked with personal trainers before, SST has been a whole different experience. All SST trainers are genuinely invested in you. They design a program to holistically—and realistically—achieve your specific goals, which they adjust as you meet (or don’t meet) milestones on your fitness journey. And my trainer, Dave Albaranes, is truly top notch. To every session, Dave brings his expertise in exercise physiology and experience as a strength coach for athletes, which I appreciate. He explains in easy-to-understand language technical aspects of weight training and how the body responds. And he’s always encouraging, with a great sense of humor. Honestly, I can't recommend this place enough!

From the moment I called to inquire about training here, I felt welcomed and supported in my fitness journey. I came in without much skill or experience, and my trainer Jesse has helped me learn and accomplish so much in a very short amount of time. Life changing experience! I've been working out at Seriously Strong for almost three years now. One sunny summer day, I stepped on a scale. The number on the scale shook me so much that my immediate next thought was, "oh, my scale is broken, surely" So I drove to Publix and stepped on their scale to get a more “accurate” reading. It was then that I realized nope, the scale was fine it was actually gravity that was the problem…After my brief meltdown, I decided to make a change. I’d given myself countless “Today’s the day!” speeches in the past, so I knew I needed to try something I’d never tried before.

*Enters Seriously Strong Training* On my first day, I met with Andrew and he walked me through the whole process, he was both encouraging and knowledgeable. I then got paired with Avery, which was the best thing to happen to me in 2023, arguably. She answers my never-ending questions and puts up with my complaints and whining with a patience that most saints would envy.

Everyone at SS is an expert in their field and it shows. They’ll create a custom plan that works for ~you~, you'll definitely be challenge to a point that’ll have you questioning every decision you’ve ever made. But, whether you just want to not flinch at the sight of a scale or get absolutely ripped. They’ll meet you where you’re at, and get you where you want to be.

I highly recommend this type of training environment if you can afford it. The 1-to-1 attention in an exclusive, dedicated gym space takes a lot off your mind as you no longer have to deal with sharing equipment with 100 others in a conventional gym. Seriously Strong Training is the best place to spend your money in St. Pete. The program WORKS! I was frustrated with fad diets and struggling to lose weight and keep it off. So I signed up at SST and it's the best thing I've ever done for myself! I used to hate exercising and I dreaded working out in the beginning; but now, 5 months into the program, I enjoy it! I have so much more energy than I did before, I have lost weight and fat, gained muscle, learned self discipline, and I'm so much happier! All the stress and guilt I used to feel over my diet and lack of exercise is gone! Even though I have a long way to go, I don't worry or stress or get impatient, because I know I'm doing it the RIGHT way. My trainer, Avery, is amazing and she makes every training session fun! It is such a relief to have an expert lead me through this journey. I never would've gotten this far without SST and Avery! The program and trainers do the hard part, and all I have to do is show up and follow instructions. The self discipline I have learned from this program is unbelievable! It has helped in all parts of my life. I never would've thought that going to the gym would make doing the dishes easier! I couldn't be happier with my experience at SST. I am truly experiencing a lifestyle change, and I know that it's only uphill from here! The reason to choose SST, is the price. You get what you pay for! I wanted to quit when I was a couple months in (because I used to quit every time I would try something new that was hard) but I couldn't quit because I had invested financially. I'm so grateful that I didn't quit, because now that I'm past that point, it feels easy! So do yourself a favor, and don't choose the cheap option. Coming out of COVID, I dealt with what I assume a lot of people experienced: a lack of motivation and a need for someone to point me in the right direction. SST provided an amazing solution to this problem. For almost 9 months, I had the pleasure of working with three of the SST trainers. All of them were amazing in their unique ways. I've been training at SST with Avery for the last 3 months.
I have just had my monthly in-body assessment and have lost 10% of overall body fat and gained 7lbs of lean muscle since starting mid-Jan. Avery sets up a customized weekly training routine that address the goals that we've set for each month. SST also uses a great app called Trainerize that I input my at home cardio and activities into to track.
The gym is great! Always positive and friendly vibes and a great group of trainers Also, excellent, expensive SOtheA equipment. I never thought I would get excited to wake up at 5 a.m. to go to the gym, but my trainer Jesse and all the folks at SST make it one of my favorite places to be. So far I’ve met or exceeded all my muscle gain and fat loss goals I set with Jesse while having a lot of fun in the process! I’ve always been a little intimidated at the gym, but Jesse has given me the confidence and knowledge that has taken me from a totally sedentary person to someone who loves working out. Jesse pays so much attention to my movement and making sure I have good form that he was able to spot an old foot injury that I never even told him I had. He tailors everything to my specific goals so I feel like not a minute of our time is wasted. Also, I’m transgender all the folks at SST have been nothing but amazing and welcoming. I can't recommend this place enough for anyone who is new to fitness and looking to make a sustainable lifestyle change. As someone who hasn't been physically active most of my life, I had a lot of anxiety and apprehension about attempting to start strength training as a woman who recently turned 40. Every experience I've had with the staff at Seriously Strong has been seriously positive and encouraging. My trainer, Aaron, is the absolute best!! He is super knowledgeable, patient, and has made working out (gasp) fun. Lol! He does a great job explaining the muscles every exercise is intended to target and how to do it properly so I don't hurt myself. He is encouraging in way that's not pushy or over the top and makes me want to push myself more than I've ever done in the past. I even voluntarily went to an 8am workout session, on Christmas Eve, and a Saturday when it was freezing outside. If that's not an indication of the magic he's working, I don't know what is 😂

I had a mysterious pain in my leg when I started working with him and after 3 months I almost didn't notice that it was completely gone! I've also experienced a significant decrease in normal 40-something body aches and pains, and the software they use to track progress shows concrete results of how much stronger I'm getting 💪🏾.

The gym environment is also very welcoming and inclusive, which is important to me as a black woman. Even though there aren't many other folks who look like me in the gym, I feel completely comfortable and supported by everyone. I have no regrets about the investment I'm making in my health and wellness, and hope others who are in similar situations consider reaching out to this awesome team!!

After becoming a 100% remote worker during the pandemic, I found myself 25+ lbs heavier and totally lacking in motivation to even leave the house. I knew I needed to do something to start piecing my life back together post-pandemic, but I had no idea what that thing was. That's when I stumbled upon Seriously Strong and I'm so glad that I did.

It’s difficult to encapsulate in a single review the positive experience I’ve had with Seriously Strong and specifically Ethan, my trainer.

I started my fitness journey as a result of being sick of feeling bigger, having a general sense of lethargy, and realizing that I needed to achieve greater balance in my life. In less than a year I have lost close to 40 pounds. But the positive experience goes well beyond the numbers.

Ethan is a trainer that is hyper focused on coaching his clients through proper technique, being hyper focused on achieving goals, and helping you navigate the myriad options that exist when choosing a plan that works. Rooted in Seriously Strong’s organizational approach to fitness, Ethan helped me establish a plan that is continuously fine-tuned to achieve optimal results. His competencies include but are not limited to:

- Teaching the concept of cycles in fitness plans aka the opportunity cost of your choices (some time periods you can dedicate more time to it some you don’t, but he was clear in what results to expect based on your choices)

I have been going to the gym for years and primarily used weight machines. Since joining Seriously Strong Training a few months ago, I have learned new free weight, mat, natural weight, kettle ball and other exercises, as well as perfecting form. The training program is focused and includes nutritional guidance, helpful videos for each exercise and continual monitoring to track progress.
The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to details. My trainer, Kris Einboden, is very patient, offers helpful tips and encourages me to push harder. I’ve been going here for a few months now and absolutely LOVE it. Athena is my coach and she has become more of a friend - the workout flies by since we’re talking the whole time. She’s very knowledgeable and does a great job of kindly adjusting form when needed. The atmosphere is friendly and the gym is super clean. I also have a strange habit of leaning to one side due to weakness in one hip and they’ve been working with me constantly to even me out by allowing me to see myself on video in a grid on a large screen and do special exercises - pretty cool. I never would have known or realized this if I didn’t have the 1-on-1 attention. If you’re questioning it- just go for it. I have a feeling you’ll love it there as much as I do. My only gym experience before walking in here was messing around with the various machines, getting confused and/or discouraged, and going home deflated. In the last six months, thanks to Seriously Strong, I've gained strength and confidence. Now, I know what I'm doing in the gym and I know how to train effectively to reach my goals. My trainer, Ethan, has been amazing. He is constantly supportive, brings great energy (even early in the mornings), and has been a wonderful teacher. More than just your normal gym. Way more. If you say “I’m a little sore today” they grab a massage gun and teach you stretches. They deal with diet, mobility, psychology, etc etc… Way more than just a gym they are are serious recourse for managing your body. Just go. I’ve been with SST since July 2019. On my first visit I knew that this place was different. Most of my experience in working out was mostly the traditional cardio type workouts but I wanted to get stronger and I didn’t have a clue about weight training. And even if I wanted to try my hand at lifting weights it is always taken over by a bunch of dudes. At SST I don’t have to wait for any equipment. It’s just me and my awesome trainer Aaron. He guides me and is very knowledgeable about proper technique and definitely challenges me. I’ve made so much progress in more ways than one from weight loss to muscle gain. I've been with SST since September and it's been a great 4 months! Athena is my trainer and she is such an awesome inspiration, as well as a delight to break up the 'sweat' of working out.
She is super knowledgable about nutrition and answers any questions via text within a few hours (usually less). I love that she holds you accountable without making you feel bad if you had an off day... or two.
I don't think you could go wrong with any of the trainers here, but I'm SUPER happy I got her.

Awesome gym, I have been going since they opened the St Pete location. I've always had consistently excellent trainers, who are results oriented. Every month we sit down and talk about our goals, and reassess where I am at. Constantly moving ahead with my fitness is important to me and they fit the bill.

The location is always clean, has excellent equipment, and is spacious. There's not a lot of people in a gym for one-on-one training, so if you feel conscientious, or require some breathing room - this is the gym for you.

I started training at Seriously Strong 2 months ago and can't believe the results I've seen! I've always be a skinny guy and have had trouble gaining weight. Training the past couple of months I've gained 15 lbs, I'm radically stronger, more muscular, and have had to buy all new clothes because I actually have muscles now, haha. For the first time in my life my friends and family are noticing the change in my physique, and the boost of confidence that comes along with it.

All of the trainers are incredible people, super friendly and encouraging, like you've known each other for ages. I've been training with Andrew and he's awesome! He keeps me honest, truly cares about my health and interests, and continuously impresses me with his wealth of expertise. Andrew radiates positivity and cheers me along the way, providing me the psychological strength necessary to achieve my physical strength goals. I've tried many training programs before and have never come close to results like this.

The trainers walk you through every exercise you do to make sure you're doing it with proper form. I had a dominate side when I first started, which limited my potential to lift heavy things. Andrew got me calibrated through a tailored program that restored balance between my left and right side - and now I'm lifting heavier than ever.

The environment is nice and clean with plenty of room to train. A couple of kind gym dogs may greet you coming in and say their farewells when you leave. Oh, and don't forget the nitro brew coffee on tap!

At Seriously Strong, they're very data-driven. All of your measurements will be taken in the beginning and periodically throughout your program. You'll be given access to this cool app that tracks everything and shows you visually how you're improving over time.

I have been in and out of weight rooms since i was 15 playing high school and college sports. I have continued to workout consistently after college well into my 30's. My Fiancé and I discovered Seriously Strong Training about 4 months after we had our first child. We have not had the healthiest of habits Post Child, due to lack of sleep and lack of time. I used the facility while visiting St. Pete. The staff was great, and the facility was sparkly clean. It's a great place to train with a variety of new, well maintained equipment. Highly recommend!

Seriously Strong is the ONLY place to go for personal training. My son and daughter in law have been clients of Seriously Strong since they opened. After much encouragement from them, I began training with Seriously Strong about 3 months ago. They have improved my balance, muscle strength, flexibilty and joint issues that were bothering me. I have always tried to stay fit and lead a healthy life style but at 66 years of age, strength training is really what I needed.
I feel remarkably better than I have in years. Don't be afraid, you can be strong and get healthy at any age. They will help you acheive goals you never thought possible!
My personal trainer is Kyle Riley, but I have worked out with all of them and they are all great! Highly recommend!

This place is second to none! I am very inexperienced in working with weights or having any type of real workout routine. I can't believe how patient, professional, dedicated and encouraging Sam has been. From day 1, everyone in the place knew my name and made me feel welcome. Because of my travel schedule, I have had the opportunity to work with most every trainer there and they are all great. I can't believe how friendly and encouraging every trainer has been at every session. Because of Sam especially, I am amazed at the results! I am not a gym rat and usually feel quite awkward in gyms on my own. I've been in and out of a few of them over the years and worked with a few trainers but to date Seriously Strong and the trainers there are the best I've ever had. The place and the people are not intimidating at all. They are friendly, welcoming and fun. Also, their method of training and skill level has been superior to any other I've tried. I absolutely recommend the trainers at Seriously Strong!

My wife and I have had several workouts with our trainer and I already feel a difference. I've never done much legs after surgeries I've had and am already increasing my weight and developing better form. The same goes for my bench as well😁! You can schedule group classes which are great to jump into or schedule with your trainer the times you need. Overall I am loving the training and facilities! Oh and for all those early risers COLD BREW ON TAP🤩!!!!

Such a nice place to workout! The staff was also top notch. Aaron was so knowledgeable and helpful. He tailored the workout based on our conversation. I got to use equipment that I’ve never used before which activated muscles that I didn’t know I had. So focused on functional and healthy results. This gym was clean and everything worked like new. Great workouts and even better trainers! All of the trainers are very knowledgeable, encouraging, and helpful. The workouts are comparable to workouts I did as a college athlete, but the trainers do a great job making sure everyone, at every level, feels comfortable and is able to do the exercises. After having scoliosis surgery fifteen years ago I was left severely limited in strength, mobility, and motivation. I had been in and out of the gym ever since without any real guidance. So I decided to reach out to Seriously Strong Strength Training located at 533 28th St S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712. I met with their fitness director Andrew Cao, who evaluated my ability level and overall goals. His enthusiasm and helpfulness no matter what level of training you’re at is beyond compare. Seriously Strong has helped me build a proper foundation in which to train and grow from.

Over the past 7 months, my core, legs, and posture have all noticeability improved. My stamina in and out of the gym has grown tremendously. Education plays a key role in my development and ability to surpass my training goals each time. Not only does Seriously Strong provide the physicality but are a wealth of knowledge on the human body and the methodologies we train with. I love this place! Amazing trainers that are super fun and welcoming. They give you awesome tips and tricks that I haven’t heard before, even playing D1 sports in college. They tailor workouts to what you need to work on, and the group classes are the perfect size (2-4)! It’s a small space, but sometimes we head outside to do parts of the workout. And it’s air conditioned inside! Thankful it’s not one of those “garage gyms”, it’s very nice and clean.
