Seriously Strong Training specializes in helping fitness beginners learn the ins and outs of the gym, nutrition, and strength training. Our personal trainers work diligently to understand what you want to accomplish, what obstacles are in your way, and then work with you to develop the perfect plan to overcome those challenges. Our mission is to equip you with the skills and knowledge to feel comfortable and confident going to the gym. I’ve had the pleasure of working with two incredible trainers, Kris and Caleb. Kris takes real time to understand you and your goals, then offers thoughtful advice and nudges you to try new directions. I was struggling to balance energy, recovery, and training, and Kris was instrumental in getting me back on track while reigniting my passion for weightlifting. Caleb is another great coach who prioritizes your goals and builds a routine that fits you. He has a sharp, practical mind for health and fitness, and he’ll help you understand the importance of the mind-to-muscle connection and how your body works as a whole.

I've been training at this gym for a while now and couldn't be happier with the experience. The space is always clean and well-organized, and the environment feels welcoming and professional. The trainers are knowledgeable and kind, and my trainer Kris is absolutely amazing.
As a true beginner, I was nervous to start strength training, but Kris made the process approachable and empowering from day one. Kris took the time to really understand my goals and create a personalized program that evolves with my progress. What truly sets this gym apart is the holistic approach—Kris doesn’t just focus on what happens during the workout, but also supports me with nutrition, daily activity, and other lifestyle habits outside the gym that impact my progress.

I joined SST as my personal training contract at a large gym was about to expire. I had been training for a year and was looking not only to step up my training but to get away from the corporate structure of larger gyms that appear to favor profit over their clients' (and trainers') best interests. There's nothing wrong with profit - we all have to live - but why not prioritize both? I can never fully understand the inner workings of any gym as simply a client, but I believe clients are perceptive and pick up on more than those at the top may realize. What I see at SST are trainers who like and respect each other, have fun together, and care about their clients. I would go far as to say they think of each other as family, which is why it didn't take long for *me* to feel like a part of the SST family. This is a gym for everybody. I've seen people who look to be middle- or high-school aged, college-aged, people like me who are approaching their 50s, and beyond. SST focuses on personal training with the added perk of periodic group classes. The trainers tailor a program according to your personal goals. And they hold you accountable, which is exactly what I was looking for, especially in the area of nutrition. They hold multiple certifications, and, from what I can see, regularly engage in professional development. They're just all-around great and super likeable people. Whether you're new, experienced, looking for physical transformation or inner transformation, this is the place to be. I'm genuinely grateful to be a client.

It's hard to put into words what my time here has meant. This gym hosts a team of encouraging/fun professionals who are dedicated to getting you where you want to be in your fitness journey. I joined with a specific goal of kickstarting myself back into being consistent with working out and preparing my body for pregnancy. I was transparent with the team that I would only be able to train with them for a few months due to my budget, and that I wanted to make the most out of my time there. They never guilt tripped me or pressured me into signing any crazy contracts. They were excited about my goals and immediately jumped into action.
Now let's talk about who trained me! Caleb, you are so much fun, your energy was exactly what I needed to push through these sessions. You hilarious and extremely dedicated. Your work ethic helped inspire mine. Thank you for the constant coaching, mid rep you would make the smallest adjustments that made the BIGGEST difference. I truly learned sooooo much about form and effective movements. I am leaving with so much confidence and eagerness to keep learning. You were always there I never had scheduling issues and truly you have been such a joy to work with I cannot thank you enough for everything.

I have been going to Seriously Strong Trainings Tallahassee gym for two months now. I had been struggling to go to the gym for awhile and my last ditch attempt was to get a personal trainer. I originally decided to try this one based on the glowing reviews. I was paired with my trainer Justin who has been amazing with my health journey. He explains everything clearly and matches my pace that I need to continue moving forward. I am constantly challenged in ways that I would not have done by myself at the gym. I am also beginning to understand more about the way my muscles move and react as we workout. The vibes in the gym are great as Justin and crew know how to make everyone feel comfortable and having a good time while working through difficult workouts. The personal training experience at Seriously Strong Training is next level and very different than other gyms and personal trainers. I have been at SST for a year now and have been happy with my results. I’m leaner, stronger, and have improved mobility. I used to dread working out, but now I look forward to my workouts with BK every week.
- BK engages and pays a lot of attention to me during my workout, making sure I maintain proper form to get the best results. I get lots of cues and feedback from her throughout my workout such as stance, grip, posture, pace, breathing, etc.
- Their app tracks my exercises, including reps and weight so I make sure I’m pushing myself enough. They also track body weight, fat, and other body measurements like chest size, biceps, hips, legs, waist
- BK designs a custom program for me and will switch things up based on my progress and to keep things interesting/challenging. We meet monthly and quarterly to see if I’m target. I had some issues with my knees and ankles which we worked through, which then gave me a better foundation for my strength goals
- BK’s approach is holistic, and sometimes when I had a problem with a set, she would help me stretch or massage the muscle to get it activated
- Personal training is all SST does, and the ratio is strictly 1:1. The gym is purposefully not overbooked and not crowded—I can focus and always have the equipment I need available
- My primary assigned trainer is BK, but if I have scheduling conflicts, there are others I can train with as well. Since they have pretty high standards for their trainers and protocols, I get a consistently great experience with any of the trainers there
- The culture and environment is welcoming. The people are friendly, know your name, know your program and goals. The facility is clean and well equipped.

I started at Seriously Strong Training because I wanted to lose some body fat and improve my health. In 6 months I've knocked those goals out of the park. I've dropped 8lbs of body fat and gained lean muscle mass that has totally changed the way I look, and just as importantly, the way I feel. I've been to a few other gyms and the things that really set this one apart from the rest is ( It's always spotless!), and the level of customer service I get from not just my coach Josh, but the entire team. Firstly, I must say that I HATE working out. It is definitely not something I do for pleasure. However, I know that I need to do it in order to keep my body going. As a 70 year old, I definitely need some help.
I moved to Tallahassee from SW Florida in early March and immediately looked for a personal trainer. Previously, I had been working with a trainer at a gym. While the sessions were helpful, it was always busy and I didn't feel like I was getting all the attention I needed.
Seriously Strong provides 1:1 coaching. Since they only work with you as trainers, the equipment is readily available. You don't have to compete for equipment. They do not overstaff - so you never feel crowded.
My trainer is Caleb. Although he's much younger than I, he doesn't make me feel like his great-grandma. He gives me excellent attention, providing me with the guidance and stimulation I need to do the work. He watches carefully to make sure I'm not hurting myself, but also pushes a bit, so I get stronger every session. If I feel something is not working, he is inventive and finds a different way to obtain the same result. His creativity keeps me coming - even though I hate it.
I love that when I arrive, all the trainers shout out a greeting; and when I leave, they are very encouraging. All the staff at SST are really upbeat and have marvelous senses of humor. They are truly motivational - never judging.
I cannot recommend SST highly enough. If you are on the fence, just do it! Truly a beneficial investment into your health and well being.

I've been training at SST with BK for a little over a month and have met all the trainers. Everyone at this organization does an excellent job of making clients feel safe, supported, and challenged in the best way. BK has a great eye and gives excellent feedback and cueing for all exercises, and I have pretty high standards as I am a PT, pilates teacher, and former professional ballet dancer. Whether you are just getting started on your fitness journey, or if you are very experienced, SST is a wonderful place to get some high-quality training in a very positive and welcoming environment. I spent 2 months training at Seriously Strong with Caleb, and it was a great experience from end to end. Caleb is energetic, personable, and knowledgeable. As someone who had hardly set foot inside of a gym before hand, Caleb made me feel at ease and was very accommodating. He is great at demonstrating exercises, and took the time to critique my form and give helpful advice. He also provided easy to understand explanations of each of the exercises and how those exercises impact the body. He even had advice to give on nutrition. Caleb was responsive to messages outside of class, and the app was very helpful and easy to use for tracking workouts outside the gym. Seriously Strong offered premium service that you rarely get anywhere these days, let alone in a gym. For anyone who is serious about getting fit, even if you are a beginner, I can highly recommend Seriously Strong and Caleb.

I am 68 and have led an athletic lifestyle my entire life. However, after injuries and surgeries, I had trouble returning to my groove. I had done all the doctor’s prescribed physical therapy and was still a long way from getting back to my healthy form.
I had been dissatisfied with the attention and coaching from my physical therapists. It was as if they had a script for “X” injury/surgery, and they followed a sequence of exercises that had little to do with my condition or what I was expressing to them as to where I was in my recovery. This unfulfilling experience led me to Seriously Strong Personal Training.
I have been working with my trainer, John, on my desired schedule for over a month, and the results are pretty amazing. After such a short time, I am feeling my form again, and through his coaching I am beginning to know how to be a better “body manager” for my very well-worn, 68-year-old body.
My experience with John has been fantastic. He and the entire staff welcome me on each visit and check in with me. John inquires about my physical activities since my last session and how my body feels and asks what is feeling good and what is tight. He is so knowledgeable that he adjusts the workout to address my specific check-in feedback. After each exercise, John, again, checks in with questions such as, “How did that feel.” “On a scale of 1-10, what was your effort level?” He is also so knowledgeable about anatomy and kinesthetics that he takes the feedback I give him and, on the spot, adjusts the workout to address specific muscles and pushes me to work hard but respects my limitations. Following each session, he loads workout videos into my online accessible file for me to use at home. These professionally produced videos of guided exercises emphasize proper technique and build on what we did in the previous session and prepare me for our next session.
For me, this experience with Seriously Strong Training has exceeded my very high expectations in working with a personal trainer. They should consider a name change to Seriously Strong, VERY PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL Training.

I highly recommend SST to anyone looking to achieve their fitness goals, especially those who may be unsure of where to begin. This is my second journey with SST, and once again, the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. My first time with them was as a beginner, where I learned essential movement patterns and gained insights into structuring effective workouts for my fitness goals. Now, returning post a back injury, SST has been instrumental in helping me solidify these movement patterns and establish a strong foundation for my fitness journey.
My trainer B.K. has been amazing! She listened to my fitness goals and created a fantastic program that has improved the quality of my workouts and, by extension, my daily life. I strongly recommend SST Tallahassee to anyone considering personal training. SST is a private gym and training sessions are always a 1:1 experience with your trainer, which means you are getting their full attention and the gym is never crowded. This is the best training experience I've ever had.
When I first got started I had multiple meetings with Gustavo (the director for this location) and Justin (my trainer) where we discussed my goals and SST's philosophies and programming. These conversations helped convince me that they are total pros and are as serious as I was about this. These conversations set proper expectations about what it would be like to workout here, and all of these expectations have been met.
This facility itself is incredibly well-run. It's always spotlessly clean, the equipment is kept in great condition, and communication is very prompt about any upcoming events, policy changes, gym closures, etc. None of this surprises me now that I know that "Be Our Guest" is on the reading list for new trainers at SST - they sweat the details and it makes for such a great experience.
My results speak for themselves so far: At this point, I have been training with Justin for nearly 5 months and he has helped me achieve results I have not been able to reach on my own or working with past trainers at other gyms. I've added 30lbs to my all-time max bench press, I've run the fastest 5k that I have done in four years, and I've consistently added muscle and dropped body fat % month after month, I attribute this to showing up and following the program that Justin prescribes.
Justin currently programs 4 weeks at a time for me, and at the end of each cycle we do an InBody scan and take measurements. Then we review what the data says and the progress towards my performance goals and discuss any other changes that have occurred in my priorities, etc. He then incorporates this into his next 4-week plan for exercise and nutrition. Justin helps me interpret this information so that I'm getting the right takeaways from it to keep me moving forward.
What I love about the experience working with Justin is that 1) he's hilarious, but 2) he's adapted to my style and what motivates me, while still bringing a strong and clear perspective to what and how we need to do to achieve my goals. I have set aggressive goals for myself, but I know that hitting them will never be at the expense of proper form and safety, eating the foods that make me happy, or building in enough rest and recovery to keep me healthy along the way.
SST works hard to create a community with monthly events and an active online community through the SST app. Even though I primarily workout with Justin, each of the other trainers take just as much an interest in me when I see them at the gym and I super appreciate that they all know me by name.
tl;dr if you're thinking about joining SST Tallahassee you should do it!

I can't say enough about SST or my trainer, B.K. I was in pretty good shape before SST, but my strength was not where I needed to be. Over the last year, B.K. has helped with my mobility (bad posture and rounded shoulders), and I am so much stronger and fitter now at 44 than I was at 18. Everyone at SST is great, its like Cheers, where everybody knows your name and yells hello as you walk in the door, and the encouragement and education is top-notch.

I strongly recommend SST if you’re looking to achieve results and enjoy the process. The trainers are knowledgeable and caring, and design programs based on the individual goals and abilities of each client. I love that they teach proper form, and especially love the check-in cycles for goal setting and tracking.
Since I started training with Josh a year ago, I have improved my strength, endurance, mobility, and eating habits. I have gained muscle and improved my confidence and mood. Josh and BK (the early bird trainers) make my 6am workouts enjoyable and I always leave feeling energized and accomplished. I have also learned a lot about nutrition and wellness from Josh, who is always happy to answer my questions and share his expertise.

Started training at Seriously Strong about 2 months ago. It is worth the investment. I came in with lower back issues and worse, wrist issues that prevented me from doing daily activities. This is a great gym. My trainer (B.K.) is awesome. She had been training me for a while at another gym, and I followed her to Seriously Strong when they hired her. They provide FANTASTIC one on one training...by appointment only. There are usually 1-2 other clients working with the other trainers at any given time. I have restrictive issues with knees and a shoulder that she has helped me improve dramatically. I wish I could rate them (and definitely B.K.) higher than a 5.

The SST team met me where I was in June 2022 and has change my outlook on eating and strength training. My amazing, wonderful and funny trainer, Justin, worked around my ankle injury (4 ankle surgeries in 4 years) prepared me for ankle replacement surgery and I was back in the gym 2 weeks after ankle replacement surgery.

I've been training at Seriously Strong Training (SST) since May 2022, and I am very happy with how it has been going. I've trained with other personal trainers in the past, but SST is superior to everything I've experience before.
My trainer is Justin, and he is outstanding. He's very knowledgeable and an excellent communicator. We started with the basics, essentially learning how to move and keep proper form, and have advanced at just the right pace since. Our sessions are 55 minutes long, and he's sure to give me all 55 minutes.
I don't have time to go into just how good SST and Justin really are as I could write pages, but I highly recommend it. For anyone considering personal training, don't waste time and money elsewhere. This is the best that I've seen.

I’m beginning my fourth month at SS and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The entire staff is friendly, and the overall environment at the facility is extremely welcoming. Very much a “we’re all in with you on this” vibe. The facility itself is clean and well maintained.
My trainer, Justin, has been great to work with and has proven himself extremely knowledgeable about not only strength training but overall health maintenance as well. I’ve also been working with a metabolic specialist and Justin’s advice regarding nutrition, eating habits, etc. is always consistent with the information I get from my specialist, oftentimes before I actually see the specialist. He continually checks in to make sure I’m where I want to be and that I’m happy with my progress. The sessions are always both challenging and fun. I will say he knows far too much about the rock group KISS for someone in his early 30s (not that there’s anything wrong with that at all 😂😂😂)

I am so happy I started my fitness journey at Seriously Strong Training this past October 2022. I had graduated from nursing school and had a lot of free time to spare. I told myself I could finally workout. However, I was unsure of what and how to manage things at the gym on my own. It seemed very intimidating for many reasons. I didn't feel confident dealing with the weights or using the machines. One of my biggest goals was to get stronger since my job as a nurse requires me to do a lot of physical activity for 12 hrs straight in one day and sometimes for three days in a row. I wanted to set a good example for my patients and be physically able to safely do so. I have seen improvement and felt healthier since starting. The trainers at SST as super welcoming and I love that I can trust my trainer, BK. She is very knowledgable, caring, safe, professional and thoughtful. Training has been a second form of therapy that I didn't expect to get when I began SST. BK is someone who not only checks in with your physical state but alwas asks how you're doing before a session and adapts to those needs second nature. There's a geniune intuition that only comes from a professional and well educated person who loves their profession. I always feel challenged and heard. If something does not feel right while lifting, I am encouraged to say so and we address the issue. I am learning not only about lifting but building habits and meeting goals. I absolutely love the way that form is taken seriously at SST. As a nurse, preventing an injury is of great importance. Bluiding strength and stamina as I age is another reason I joined and I cannot believe all the great things my trainer has taught me that I am able to achieve. The feeling of accomplishment is amazing and cannot imagine leading my life without training. I must confess another reason I joined was due to the amazing changes I saw in my husband. The amount of motivation and happiness I saw after his sessions made me curious. I haven't trained with any one else except BK but the gym has a wonderful and inviting vibe that puts me at ease.

I came to Seriously Strong because I wanted to work on my functional strength. My back was always sore from long hours sitting at my desk and no amount of stretching seemed to fix it. I knew that increased strength would help, but my workouts at Planet Fitness only exacerbated the issue! OVERVIEW: I Googled personal training in Tallahassee and found that this place, out of hundreds of reviews, did not have a single one that was less than five stars. (Not a single Karen? Really?) I thought that they had to be paid reviews or something, but, after reading some of them and looking at the profiles, they seemed legit. So I signed up. After having attended, I believe I understand why it has these reviews. This place strives to do the very best it can, and it constantly ensures that you are as satisfied as possible. I achieved *far* better results after four months there than I did when I exercised/dieted on my own for about a year and a half. You get your money’s worth.
MY TRAINER: Justin
WORKOUTS: My trainer worked with great attention to detail. He was very patient with me considering my total-amateur approach and well explained/demonstrated how to properly execute workouts. He caught the little things that I did incorrectly, like moving my feet or wrists the wrong way, and he assigned plans to remedy those bad habits. By catching the little things, I was able to attain better results without putting any more effort into the exercise (just a change of habit). And, of course, learning the proper form sets me up well for the long-run.
KNOWLEDGE: My trainer knew not only a vast array of workouts and proper forms—he knew a lot about nutrition, anatomy, and so forth. He thoroughly answered all of my questions, not only about how something should be done, but why it should be done that way.
CHECK-INS: They conduct monthly check-ins to reveal your weight, body-fat percentage, muscle mass, and so forth. Your trainer goes over everything with you and answers any questions you have. I found the process to be motivating; it was proof of the hard work paying off.
NUTRITION: My trainer closely worked with me to ensure that my diet allowed for the maximum utilization of the workouts. He went over what my diet should be, considering my preferences and already-formed eating habits, and assigned specific goals on the app to guide me in the right direction. I sent him pictures of whatever I was eating every day, and he would offer feedback. Even small differences in diet substantially impacted my results, so the dietary advice and monitoring was a great bonus.
THE APP: Their app is surprisingly well designed. I wouldn’t expect a small business to develop a better app than the countless other workout-assistant apps that exist with hundreds of thousands if not millions of downloads, but they somehow did. For the at-home workouts, your trainer assigns you the homework assignments; all you need to do is open the app, start the homework for the day, and enter your values as you go along (e.g., the reps and weights used). If you forget what a certain workout is, there’s a thumbnail you click on to display a video demonstration. There’s other features as well, such as a DM function to ask your trainer any questions. The interface is more intuitive than MyFitnessPal or any other workout app that I’ve tried.
COST: The cost is standard for a personal trainer ($75/hr), but the service seems to be much better than standard, and they don’t charge you for the extra time your trainer spends on you outside of the gym (e.g., designing your at-home workout schedule, answering any questions you have over DMs, or checking-in/advising your dietary habit). They require a minimum of 8 sessions per month, but this seems to be the minimum you need in order to create good habits. Their contract stipulates that the payments are month-to-month, so you can cancel any time if it doesn’t become financially feasible. (I, unfortunately, had to cancel after a few months for this reason. But I definitely would have continued longer if my budget had permitted it.)
CONCLUSION: Try it out. It’s worth it.

I’ve been working with Josh at SST since February 2022. Over the past several months I have seen and felt so many positive changes! Two specific things I wanted to work on was my joint mobility and guidance on food. Both of those have seen massive improvements since I’ve started! My ankle mobility has improved so much that I’ve been able to get my squat 6in lower from when I started, the fact I can even squat confidently now is a win for me! I’ve been able to find “food peace” and eat intuitively with my trainers guidance. He’s taught me how to listen to my hunger cues and choose good foods that match my training goals!
I feel I should also mention how comfortable the atmosphere is at SST. I was intimidated thinking of someone intentionally watching me workout (because normally that’s your worst nightmare in a gym right?) but from my first day everyone was so friendly and I never felt judged or embarrassed for my lack of gym knowledge!
I am so thankful to Josh and the whole team there for teaching me skills I’ll use for the rest of my life! And as a bonus, since my husband saw how much I was learning and enjoying working with SST he ended up joining me and now we get to go together and support each others goals!
I would absolutely recommend Seriously Strong Training to anyone I meet!

I've been at Seriously Strong for about 6 months now and I have to say this is the best gym experience I've ever had. I came into my strategy session with a pretty good idea of where I wanted to take my fitness journey, but I have been impressed with how much my expectations have been surpassed.
All of the trainers I've met have been great. Personally, I train with Justin. This is one very knowledgeable dude. I come from a powerlifting background with years of experience and I still always learn new things from him. Justin does a fantastic job of catering to my personal goals with fun and diverse programming. I always feel like his program design is intentional and I know it is backed by up-to-date research.
The facility is also first-rate. They have everything on hand for any variation of any lift you can think of and plenty of room for multiple clients and trainers to use the space simultaneously without bumping into each other. Everything is clean and well organized. You can tell the trainers respect the space they are in.
I highly recommend checking this place out. I'm glad I did and I'm stoked to have this team backing me while I get seriously strong!

I have been at SST for around four months now to train for Mt. Kilimanjaro, one of the 7 summits of the world. I believe there is genuinely no better trainer than Justin to prepare me for this & I still feel very lucky I managed a spot with him at SST.
Working with Justin has challenged me both physically & mentally, in the best ways possible. I have achieved personal goals I know I couldn’t have outside of SST. I have been putting on pounds of muscle, taking off inches, & increasing my endurance. I have also gained the knowledge & confidence to go to the gym on my days off from SST. Justin’s level of expertise surrounding alpine training, nutrition, and pathophysiology have long surpassed the value of any other trainers or programs. For instance, I was told by my physician I couldn’t weight lift again with my scoliosis, but with Justin’s help I have been able to get back into something I love without the concern for injury. Working with him has actually helped alleviate some of my scoliosis pain & has changed my posture/shoulder alignment back within the normal range!
On a personal level, he is my greatest source of support for my summit. Whether it’s spending the extra time to help me pick out gear or nudging me forward when training gets hard, Justin is someone who is truly invested in your goals. Not to mention his perseverance to get you in the gym if you have a crazy schedule (current college student working in the ER & preparing for medical school).
It’s hard not to sit & brag on my trainer considering I am at SST for something out of the ordinary, but SST is a GREAT gym. I remember walking in my first few sessions & being surprised every trainer knew my name. I never feel intimidated walking into the gym & get excited for our monthly progress checks. 10/10 would recommend any trainer at SST, even if I may be biased :)

I've been working out at Seriously Strong Training for just over three months. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. I'm 56 years old and have never really been overweight. However, I've never been able to build noticeable muscle mass or lose body fat. Whenever I would try to get in shape, I would lose weight, but my body composition stayed the same. I would quit out of frustration or because I injured myself. As a result, I've lead a sedentary life for a number of years now.
Since I started at SST, I've lost five percent of my body fat and gained about seven pounds of muscle. I can see muscle definition everywhere. For the first time ever, I have noticeable abs, and my wife comments often on how impressed she is with the change in my body and the healthy lifestyle I'm living.
The most important thing about SST is the emphasis on technique. At my age I was concerned about injuring myself. I have some age-related arthritis in my neck, and my trainer Joey has been extremely careful to design activities that avoid aggravating it. I feel extremely safe, my technique has greatly improved, and my confidence in working out on my own has grown tremendously.
SST also emphasizes healthy diet. And by "diet" I mean healthy, sustainable habits, not starving yourself. I'm eating well all the time and don't feel deprived in the least.
SST's environment is fantastic. I've felt at home since day one. Everyone is incredibly friendly and fun to be around. Joey is one of the nicest people I've ever know, and the staff and clients are all terrific people. I've never felt comfortable at fitness centers, but SST is smaller and more intimate. We generally have no more than five staff and four to five clients at any given time. The facility and equipment are maintained in spotless condition. I'm a germaphobe, and I can say I feel completely safe
I feel better than I have in years. My success motivates me to work harder and inspires me to live a healthier life. In addition to strength training and eating well, I'm doing plenty of cardio and stretching regularly. My body looks better than it has in decades, and my muscle definition looks better than it ever has. I had resigned myself to the idea that I would never have this type of success. I was totally wrong. I'm proof that it's never too late to start taking better care of yourself, but it never would have happened had I not started training at SST. I am extremely grateful for what they are helping me achieve!

Justin is my trainer and he does a wonderful job putting up with me - even when I’m on the struggle bus. He genuinely cares and wants you to meet your goals! He works with you to help you get the most out of your body—diet, exercises, planning for the unplanned and planning for success!! If his book isn’t full then I’m explaining it wrong. But tbh - you can’t go wrong w any of the trainers! They clearly hold themselves to high standards and thereby make sure they’re helping you achieve your own.

I cannot even begin to sing enough praises for SST. When I started coming here a few months ago I was incredibly nervous about the whole thing. I fully expected the stereotypical gym bro vibe and that I wouldn’t feel comfortable. I couldn’t have been more wrong; the guys at SST are all friendly, helpful, goofy, and just fun to be around. As my trainer, Justin has been absolutely amazing. He has been a wealth of valuable knowledge about nutrition and exercise and you can tell he really cares about the success of his clients. By far my favorite thing about Justin (other than his sense of humor) is his supportive and considerate nature. He always pushes you to do your best but is also very understanding if some days your best is a bit less than normal. Like another reviewer said, I just wish I had come here sooner!

When I first reached out to SST, I was overweight, out of shape, and overwhelmed. I knew I had to make a change but I had no idea where to start. After a strategy session with Gustavo, I was partnered with my trainer, Jonathan. Jonathan listened to my concerns and developed an individually tailored plan to help me achieve not only my fitness goals but my nutritional goals as well. Jonathan has made himself available to me every step of the step of the way.

I can tell you after working with them for two years and now training with Gustavo that all the trainers here are experts in their field. I would be thrilled to have any of them as my trainer. I've increased strength significantly, built better habits (like being more active on a daily basis), and feel healthier than ever before. The accountability I get from Gustavo outside of the gym is extremely helpful and keeps me on track with my goals. He has even worked with my chiropractor to create workouts around my aches and pains so I can be certain I am doing exercises appropriate to what I have going on. Before joining Seriously Strong Training, going to the gym terrified me and I had no confidence in myself/what my body can do. I was intimidated by the thought of weightlifting, and I had little to no knowledge about healthy eating habits. I wanted to change my lifestyle, but was not sure how. Before joining SST, I trained by myself at the gym but I didn’t feel like I was really progressing or gaining any muscle. Since I started training with Josh, I’ve seen my strength go up more than I ever thought possible! I spend less time in the gym now and see way more results. Also, I’m getting stronger so I’m able to eat more food now without gaining body fat — a very nice added bonus! I cannot recommend this gym enough. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. Since my initial consultation, I have felt very comfortable and confident that I can reach my goals at SST. I started training about three months ago and have already seen tremendous progress. The environment of the gym is one of a kind with trainers and clients who are friendly, upbeat, and very kind. Josh is my trainer and he is AMAZING!!!!! From the very first day, he has been a great motivator and definitely a huge part of my success thus far. The SST team is the very best. If you have goals and you are willing to do the work, SST can get you to your goal. I personally work with Gustavo Ramos. Gus is extremely knowledgeable about nutrition, anatomy and exercise physiology. Gus studies your weekly life routine and with that knowledge adds his exercise and nutrition recommendations. I started with SST in March 2021. I am very pleased with my gains in strength and muscle mass and losses in % body fat. I have also observed and met the other SST team members. They are a quality group. I am a veterinarian that specializes in equine sports medicine so I know SST is the real deal. I’m so glad I found this place! After losing some weight doing cardio-based group fitness classes, I was ready for a change. I wanted to begin resistance training, and learning to perform the movements the right way was important to me. That’s really hard to do without the help of experts. SST cares about your goals and will tailor a program specifically for you. It is only fair to write this review since I considered Seriously Strong Training (SST) based on their fabulous review ratings. I was impressed with the information (marketing) of their website. I moved to Tallahassee last year when the country literally shut down due to Covid. During that time, I stalked their website and reviewed all the articles and testimonials because it was a way to keep me mentally motivated until I could train. I didn’t want to go anywhere else until I scheduled my consultation. After that meeting, I couldn’t wait to start my fitness journey with them.
First of all, I love my trainer, Gustavo but all the trainers there are FANTASTIC! What puts SST above all others is that during my one hour session, I matter! It is a one-on-one customizable training session based on my personal goals. Gus not only gives me non-session workouts, but he checks in often to make sure I stay accountable to my fitness goals and to my macro goals. I love data and they provide that for me in one awesome app.
I was looking for a place that I can train for years to come and an accountability partner to motivate me to reach my goals. I found the place at SST and found my partner with Gus!

Nothing but great things to say about SST. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, and they do a great job matching clients with trainers based on their goals. As a moderately active skinny guy, I joined SST looking to get stronger and bulk up a little for my wedding. Jonathan has helped me improve my eating habits, look and feel great, and get stronger than ever. He’s taught me how to lift safely and effectively — my form on every lift is so much better now than it ever was when I was just learning stuff from YouTube.
The gym puts a lot of focus on regular feedback, reevaluating goals, and tracking progress over time. Every three months, we spend the majority of a session reflecting on what’s been working and not working. The whole SST team is receptive to constructive feedback and I feel like we’ve been able to align my training really well with my goals as they’ve changed. There are smaller check-ins on a monthly basis as well.
Gustavo (the head trainer) is a super nice and professional guy. I think he’s really succeeded in creating an environment that’s welcoming for all clients. He also gathered a lot of client feedback that has directly influenced their training handbook and other materials.

I have nothing but great things to say about SST. I had a rather unique situation, and Gustavo was super helpful with structuring a plan and path for me for the short time I was there. He paired me with 2 solid trainers, Joey and Kelsey who were phenomenal. Joey's in depth knowledge on a variety of areas surrounding fitness and nutrition, and his laser focused not taking any excuses attitude, really gave me the drive, push, and insight I needed to hold myself accountable for my journey. Kelsey and Joey were always making sure my form was on point, payed genuine attention to whatever momentary complications my body might have had had during our sessions, and both did a great job with helping me push past my limits to uncover my strength potential. 2020 was a year most of us would like to forget, but SST made sure it was a year I would always remember. SST agreed to take a chubby client on in January and changed my life. I went from 240 lbs to 201, lost fat in places i didn’t know i had it, and gained SO MUCH muscle. There is a lot of influencers and body builders out there today, but Jonathan Hoch knows what he is talking about and GETS RESULTS. Jonathan helps you understand which workouts target which muscles, which movements you want to focus on, and proper technique. The mentality is to learn it now so you can retain the knowledge forever. I started coming to Seriously Strong Training in July and started training with Lindsey. From the beginning, I could tell that I was going to enjoy my experience. I came in with little to no experience about strength training and was a little hesitant. Lindsey made sure to properly gauge my knowledge and took the time to make sure that I learned the fundamentals before getting into lifting. I really appreciated Lindsey teaching me about listening to what my body needed when doing certain movements, incorporating mobility exercises to strengthen my weaker areas, and emphasizing the need for recovery in between sessions with stretches. All of the staff are wonderful and inviting at every session. I thought I’d write a comment - a kind of heads up - to anyone looking for a serious gym. I’m entering my third month at Seriously Strong Gym and am quite satisfied with the level of service so far.The trainer that I have, Rachel, is a conscientious professional that, by all appearances, takes her job earnestly as do all of the trainers at this facility. The mood has always been up beat and everyone that works there knows your name after the first visit. The clientele seem dedicated which keeps me keep focused, and represent a varied cross section of society. As an additional benefit, that I like very much, is that it is not a fashion show gym where the beautiful people come to show off the newest in gym attire. This is a trainer gym to help me gain the strength that I’ve lost as the years have passed. Rachel knows this and has built a regiment that keeps me at the forward edge without getting injured or too sore to function the next day (close on a few days though). The only downside that comes to mind is there is no shower facility. But I have one at home lol.

I have been a client at Seriously Strong Training for about nine months now. When I first sat down for a consultation, I was nervous since I had never been to a gym before. I was 26 years old and had weighed the same weight since middle school, 117 lbs. I wanted to gain muscle mass and be in overall better health. Athena (who now is at the Pinellas County location) talked me through the training program and introduced me to a trainer who worked with me for a two-week trial period. Within those two weeks, I had gained 4 lbs.
As soon as I signed up for a full membership, I started training with Joey Marino, who has been amazing. I've made incredible gains in the time since I began training: I've gained lots of muscle mass, reduced my body fat, gained nearly 20 lbs as I'd hoped, and have a consistent meal and sleep schedule due to working closely with Joey.
Seriously Strong Training is like a family. I never thought I'd feel that way about a gym because I'm not the stereotypical athletic type. But I look forward to my next visit each time I leave. Joey makes training fun and worthwhile. And I love interacting with the other staff, who are all kind, interesting, and encouraging.

After proposing to my girlfriend in October of 2019, I was determined to get in better shape prior to our wedding. I had previously struggled working out on my own during and after college. By the time I proposed, I was the heaviest I had ever weighed.
Signing-up with Seriously Strong Training was a serious commitment to bettering both my health and fitness. I initially signed-up for a 6-month contract in January, which included two 1-hour sessions a week or eight sessions a month.
Personal training isn't cheap, but Seriously Strong Training makes it worthwhile due to the level of attention, training, and equipment they provide you as a client.
I'm fortunate to have a great trainer in Jonathan Hoch, who worked with me to create a personalized fitness and nutrition plan. Jonathan is a great listener, which means my plan changes week to week or month to month based on how well it's working for my goals.
(In my experience every trainer at Seriously Strong Training has a similar work ethic.)
After my 6-month contract expired, I switched to Virtual Training. However, I'm hoping to get back into the gym again at least once or twice a week in the near future.

I went in for a one-hour trial session expecting to do a few pushups and go over basic form on a few exercises, but let me tell you, these folks aren't playing around. Half an hour in, I thought I'd turn to jelly, and by the time the session was over, I'm honestly surprised I hadn't. My trainer was very professional and helped me make sure I didn't actually break anything (it's been a while since I excercised regularly), and I'll definitely be back soon.

This gym is seriously awesome, in the past I’ve always had a hard time creating a solid gym routine, so I decided to use a personal trainer to help hold me accountable. I’ve been training with Gustavo (Goose) 5 days a week since December and seen awesome gains. More importantly though he has been really helpful in helping me overcome what I like to call laziness withdrawals. When I felt nauseous, tired, or weak, he has adjusted the trainings to maximize my performance to not only to help get great results but keep my motivation high. I look forward to my continued gains. I can't rave about Seriously Strong enough. Not only they paired me with a great trainer (Lindsey!), I also gained a friend from it. I've learned so much about becoming healthier and stronger from Lindsey, and that includes tracking macros, using proper technique, and focusing on mind-muscle connection during workouts. Everyone there is incredibly friendly as well. At first I thought it was a bit weird that everyone seems to always be in such good mood, but I realized that it's hard to not be in that type of mood when you're surrounded by positive vibes and a "can do" attitude. On some days, Snooky (the owner's sweet old black lab) is in attendance and would let me me hug and kiss her, when I'm not being too clingy. Such a cutie pie.

Best gym I've ever joined, by far. I first did the 2-week free trial, which encompasses 4 personal training sessions, and I can't speak highly enough about how comprehensive the trainers are in terms of developing a work out plan for you, based specifically on your strength training level and the goals which you hope to accomplish. Athena was my trainer for these initial 4 sessions, and she seriously knows her stuff - she's also an excellent teacher and will push you to succeed, not push you to fail. I am now in the small group training sessions, and I appreciate the teaching and coaching I'm able to get in these sessions as well. Nadine, like Athena, is a great trainer.

So I’ve been doing personal training at SST for about 3 months now and each session has been amazing! At first I had reservations about signing up but my experience so far has only been excellent. Every trainer there is knowledgeable about various exercises and the muscles involved. I came in not knowing anything about weightlifting or strength training and have learned so much about it thus far. My trainer, Joey, always has positive energy and is very charismatic and keeps me going every session! Even though it’s personal training, it always feels like every trainer there works with you and combines their knowledge to facilitate your improvement, almost like you’re part of a family. Over the past few weeks Joey has helped me establish goals as well as help me better understand my diet and what I should be eating to further improve. My trainer, Jonathan, has helped me to set goals, monitor and better understand my diet, and emphasize consistency. I have always wanted to lift weight, gain muscles and loose fat, but never ventured in the weight section of the gym for a few reasons. I did not know how to lift and simply hated going to the weight section as a woman. That’s when I started researching personal training in Tallahassee. I came across SST. Athena was wonderful. She paired me up with Lindsey who is such a delight to work with. She made me feel welcome and comfortable. She understood that I was new to training, was patient, and gave just the right amount of push to ensure that I was progressing. Since working with Lindsey I have lost weight and gained strength and muscle. She has a ton of knowledge on nutrition and is always learning new ways to utilize food as a fuel. I would have to say the most valuable lesson I learned from Lindsey is to stop seeing food (especially carbs) as an enemy but to enjoy great healthy foods that make me feel good and energized. I amended my cycles of binge eating followed by starvation, and the results have been phenomenal both physically and emotionally.

Andrew and the guys at Seriously Strong Training in St. Petersburg welcomed me on my first day like I was a long-time member. Andrew in particular fixed the problems with my squat which had caused me to have chronic pain in the front of my hip joints. He also greatly improved my press and deadlift. I first became aware of Seriously Strong Training when I met Gustavo Ramos 2 months ago. His passion and comprehensive knowledge of strength training were immediately evident. As a personal trainer myself, I wanted to take my training to the next level. I joined SST in January ’19 after seeing what an amazing job Athena did with my wife, both her body and mind. Having Arthritis in my back and both knees for over 10 years, I was concerned with how my body would react to becoming more active and lifting weights again. All apprehension was gone after teaming up with Jonathan. Instead of avoiding my problem areas, Jonathan attacked them in a controlled and safe approach that has increased my strength and mobility to levels that I haven’t seen in more than a decade. Jonathan is the real deal; he brings a thoughtful and motivating attitude to every workout. And I’m blown away by his wealth of information he shares about the body and how the body is supposed to move. With every workout I’m getting stronger and smarter.
When I started training at SST I had three simple goals: 1) to drop my body weight 20 lbs., 2) to feel strong again as whole, and 3) to increase my overall mobility. In a little over 3 months I dropped approx 25lbs, went down 3 pant sizes, went down two suit jacket sizes, and overall became a healthier me. I started with SST at the beginning of the year and have been going once a week since then. Athena is my trainer and she is boss! I’ve lost a lot of unwanted weight, getting stronger every week and am starting to feel good about myself for the first time in ages. It’s affordable and, you can plan your sessions to fit around your schedule, which I love! If you wanna get strong then go check SST out. I’ve tried doing it on my own at Planet Fitness and it’s always super busy, much harder without professional guidance and not nearly as enjoyable. At SST you will get trained by a professional, you won’t have to wait for someone else to finish on a machine or feel cramped for space, you’ll have a laugh but most importantly you’ll get stronger. 😁

I was nervous to get back into the gym scene but as I’ve consistently been going there I see all walks of life that come through their doors and there is one common goal I think we all share and that is being serious about becoming a better you! The gym is organized, clean and the trainers take such pride in their clients and want them to succeed. At the gym and with my trainer , Athena Landy, I receive patience, support, the knowledge and technique to do the proper lifting required to be the better me. I am a female and if you’re like me you may be thinking I don’t want to get bulky (or maybe you do, no judgement) or lift heavy weights, well let me tell you, your trainer knows the body and goals you want and they will get you there! Monthly progress measurements are completed each month and they use apps to help guide you with your scheduled appointments and nutrition tracking. Each time I go in, I am working with my trainer but there may be 2 other trainers with their clients at the same time but everyone minds their business and is focused on their own goals. I am encouraged each time I go and not only am I seeing results in my body I am feeling stronger, seriously strong! This gym rocks! I knew I needed to incorporate weight training in my routine but weight rooms at your average gym can be intimating when you're a newbie. Seriously Strong is so much more than your average gym! It's one on one personal training with hands down the most skilled trainers around. I've been training with Gustavo (aka Goose) for three months now and I have seen far more gains than I was able to accomplish on my own or in group classes. Goose is very knowledgeable and has an infectious positive energy that makes early AM workouts - dare I say fun! The entire staff is welcoming, the gym is well equipped and always clean. Since the beginning, our sessions have been challenging, informative, and encouraging. Just do it. And I don’t mean that in the Nike cliché way. I mean do it…sign up for Seriously Strong…it’s more than worth it. My trainer is Gustavo and he is insistent on making sure my form is perfect – every rep, every set must be perfect. He seriously cannot help himself, but I appreciate it because I feel and see the results. I’m actually kind of impressed with myself. 😉 Gustavo does not only train me, but he teaches me how to correctly weight train. I have gained skills and techniques that I would have never ever figured out on my own. I now realize that I’ve been doing a lot of exercises wrong over the years ever since joining Seriously Strong. Moreover, Gustavo makes sure that I never ‘overdue it’ to the point of possibly injuring myself. He always asks me how my body is feeling and that’s important to me because I have had a previous injury. Correct form is necessary to build a resilient body. I’m doing it right and things are getting tight! Ok, enough of that. Let’s be real: Like many of us, I work a full-time schedule and hold down a demanding job that requires every bit of brain power in me. At the end of an exhausting day, I don’t want to have to figure out what gym equipment to use, how much weight to pick up, how many reps and sets to do, and figure out what I need to do next, every single time. I just want someone to tell me what to do, how to do it, tell me when I’m doing it wrong, and walk out of there feeling good and getting results.
