This place exceeded my expectations. Cleanliness, availability of programmes and friendly professional staff. Machines and equipment are cleaned after use and the range of programs and services are impressive. I was quite disappointed they don't have a sauna. That us much needed but plans are underway to complete their swimming pool. A great experience in an excellent location.

I just turned 68 and decided to join a gym. I’m active as a scuba diver for 50 years and want to stay in shape to continue my passion. My Medicare silver fit plan covered the cost. The signup was easy and I love the gym setup. I was assisted by a YMCA staff member named Pursha. She was very professional, accommodating and very pretty. She made it easy for me! My focus is primarily on the machines to keep my body in shape for this sport. I go during non peak hours and have no issues. There’s a lot of eye candy here too. After going to planet fitness for several years, I decided it was time to move to another gym with more equipment and classes.

YMCA has been wonderful! Grisel assisted me with enrolling and was very kind and accommodating. I always go here super early and it’s never super packed. Lots of different classes to choose from (LOVE cycling with Blake, she’s awesome) and a very friendly vibe!

I decided to downgrade this to a three-star review. And this is important, so pay attention. For the last 5 months, I have not been going to this ymca. Yet, every month I get charged $47.

You would think, that if they truly cared about their clients, they would call and ask :

"hey, how are you doing? Just wanted to make sure everything is okay. We noticed that we're charging your card $47 a month, but you aren't coming. Is there a reason why? Is there anything we can do for you? Would you like us to put your membership on hold?"

So for the past 5 months, I haven't received anything from YMCA. So a few weeks ago, I misplaced my credit card, and I had to cancel it and order a new one. That happened to be the one that's on file with ymca.

You should see how many times they tried to charge the $47. Since April 1st, which is my billing date, they I've tried charging it over and over, I would say about 12 times.

And then came the phone call. I think they left a voicemail, but I know for sure they texted me and they asked me to please come in and update my credit card because they aren't getting their $47 a month.

Do you see the problem here? Some won't, and that's why the world is the way it is. We live in a fallen world, where the love of money is the root of ALL evil (not 96%). It blinds people from seeing the truth.

Great facility especially the gym! I would however be very particular of what trainer you pay for, as some are more professional and not rude like others. I highly recommend James as a trainer due to his professional level and patience. The trainer Martin, not so much because I don’t think trainers should be raising their voice at you or give unnecessary attitude because you are of course paying them, for a service! I didn’t pay to be disrespected by a man!

I walked in to ymca going to workout with a couple friends some of which who were over the age of eighteen mind you i'm17 and i am told by a rude employee (Mischele) that i wasn't aloud to enter and when i asked her why she began to give me and my friends extreme attitude and said "because i said no" no explanation just straight disrespect as we leave the building she proceed to make snarky comments to her coworkers about me and my friends. insanely disrespectful and considering we treated her with nothing but kindness up to that moment. this is unacceptable, very immature service and she shouldn't be allowed to evening get a job in the first place. The disrespect genuinely shocked me and i wouldn't be making a review in the first place if i wasn't seriously confused on how she got a job in this place. Ymca hires anyone at this point. unbelievable

The South Dade YMCA has been such a blast for our family! The classes are super fun, and there’s something for everyone, no matter what you’re into. The place is always clean and ready to go, which makes working out way more enjoyable.

Our kids are all about the sports clubs—they get to run around, have a great time, and burn off all that energy. And there’s complimentary child care—seriously, it’s a lifesaver! You can drop off your toddlers for up to two hours while you hit the gym or join a class, and they’re in good hands the whole time.

Love the upgrade! I have recently been much more driven to work out at the YMCA, mainly because the cardio and weight lifting areas have been renovated. The place even got new flooring. I've been billed for two months from this facility without ever being a member.
Almost 4 years ago I cancelled my membership with the YMCA after the homestead branch closed down. I have never even set foot in this facility, yet somehow, 2 months ago, a membership was activated for me at this facility and I was being billed as a member, even though I now live a few hundred miles north. How did I not notice? Well, 1 digit of my phone number was incorrect, and 1 digit of my email was incorrect, which is odd, considering my previous contact information with the Y was correct, as I have email correspondence from the previous branch still with my correct info. I have requested multiple times for management to correct this issue, and have been told my membership was cancelled (though it shouldn't ever have begun), and have yet to receive a refund for either month I was billed, though I was told 1 of the two refunds was processed. After multiple phone calls, and email to management, I have still not been contacted back by the YMCA to explain how this was possible, apologize, or show ANY attempt to rectify what amounts to either fraud or at the very least negligence of privacy and record keeping of previous member's personal and financial information. For a nationally recognized organization, this is appalling.

This Basketball League is AMAZING!!! We put our son in this league last season and it was the best decision we could have made so we enrolled him in the Fall League. The coaches, athletic staff and players are all wonderful. It promotes a healthy attitude towards completion, sportsmanship and physical activity. Part of the basketball enrollment fee includes access to the gym. In todays society when kids are not interested in sports or going outdoors (like my generation) this league excels in encouraging the kids to come out to practices and games. We have a great time on Saturday nights cheering our boys team. Great job YMCA for offering these healthy outlets for our kids to enjoy.

I love this gym! It's clean. The times I go it's not crowded. The people at the door recognize me! The staff is highly knowledgeable about working out to rehabilitate injuries. I am grateful for the employees who disinfect the machines. I enjoy the Zumba and strengthening classes and the ability to use either room when class isn't in session. The sitting area downstairs is comfortable.
