Very friendly staff, they also organize small socials for customers.
The trainers are easy to relate to and they offer exercise options for all levels. You can book the classes of interest one day in advance, but also have access to equipment to run your own routines.

Haley decided to change the motivating rock music to fluff music on her own behalf without any consideration of the early morning lifters. Ironically the early lifters arrive at 5:30 and she doesn’t arrive until 8:00 . Myself and many other of the early morning lifers do not wear ear buds because they significantly reduce situational awareness.

As far as a YMCA facility, I find this place truly lacking amenities & size in comparison to YMCAS in Central Florida & throughout the US. One example: there is no indoor pool, the pool that exists is only open part of the year. We deserve better in St. Augustine!
I do enjoy the chair yoga classes offered; being new to this experience, I find Kate A's class especially instructive & helpful.

Faith, Family and Fun is what the YMCA’S should be around this country. The St Augustine faculty is a nice place to exercise. Mark and Shaama at the reception area are exceptional! They have a kind spirit and willingness to make your experience special.

The Head Life Guard ( I’ll call him Grumpy) is just that. He is rude, curt and has no idea what good customer relations are. I hope my employees are not as rude to our valued customers like this man is. Also the 45 minute swim time on the hour is inconvenient and silly. I’ve never heard of such and I have never experienced that in any facility around this country.

If you are going to work out in a gym, this is a very nice place. If you are going to lap swim, be prepared for a 40 minute swim only and rudeness.

I have thought about joining the Y many times, but I am a family of swimmers. This Y seems to be the only Y in North Florida that does not have a heated pool. They seem to remodel the GYM and Basketball courts every few years, but can't add a heater to the pool.

On vacation and went to Y to play pickleball. I showed my card. She asked if national member. I showed her Logo on card. Not good enough she called my local Y. Not good enough she checked a website and refused entry. Also told me I was at wrong time and that their website not current. Save your time and go to the beach. Not Christian or even friendly.

Great place! I’m a member of the Y back home, which apparently doesn’t participate in the “Nationwide” program, but this nice lady said I could have three visits anyways. I was there when they opened on a weekday, and it was remarkably busy. Much busier than my home Y at 5:30 in the morning. I don’t get down here often, but I’ll definitely go back to this Y the next time I’m here.

Great local "Y" feels like a safe place. Though the building is small, and older, great pains have been set in place to keep the equipment up-to-date. Workout room and gym floors are resurfaced every year. Locker rooms are sufficient, but could use updating. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Workout classes are for young and old alike, and spinning is offered. Basketball and pickleball are offered at certain times throughout the week in the gym. Kids camps and tournaments are run at different times during the year. The non- heated pool is open during the summer months. The building is wheel chair accessible, with plenty of free parking.

Terrible Y. I was willing to look past how filthy this facility is given the generally friendly and accommodating service. My patience, however, has run out given my latest experience. After being told via email that the basketball league I regularly enter a team into was an ‘open age’ league. I had a young man on my team physically removed from the court mid game, after he was already signed up and paid. The excuse from the Y staff members was that the young man (15 years of age) was too young. This, after being told the age was open and this, after having competed multiple times against other mid to late teens in this very league. The situation was handled disgracefully. When I challenged the staffs position and behavior with evidence I was dismissed and told this particular young man couldn’t play. They suddenly change their story, singling out one person for no good reason creating a terrible service experience for both he and I. This is against the very mission of the YMCA.
Given this disgrace and the regular cleanliness issues I will never again be a member of this facility or enter a team in any of the leagues.

My wife and three sons were in St. Augustine for vacation. Our oldest Caleb which is a junior in high school has a regional fhsaa weightlifting meet the day after we return home from our trip. So he had to workout daily. And had to be able to do Olympic style workouts. The outside crossfit area was awesome. Very big thank you to Zach, Wesley, and Lorraine for all of their help and input. They went above and beyond to assist us. I recommend this YMCA to anybody in the area. I wish our YMCA had the equipment outside like this one. Our experience and time spent here was awesome. Thank you staff so much.

The people are friendly here and there is a large room filled with many types of machines for working out on. On your first, you may utilize a free guide who will show you how to use each machine. My favorite part are the workout classes! These include yoga , stretch, and low-impact aerobics. It's fun and just a block from Saint Augustine beach!
