Gymnastics centerAbout the Club
Suncoast Gymnastics Academy is located in Odessa,FL and has had the joy of working with children for over 30 years. Our goal is to provide educational programs through physical activity that hold high standards for learning. What is most important is what your children learn here at Suncoast. All of our programs are geared towards developing our children from the inside out, using athletic activity and the lessons learned along the way to produce happy and healthy children.
We hope your experience here will show a team of staff that can empower your children through the sports programs that we offer. Our success is not defined by the number of trophies on our shelves, but by the smiling faces that walk through our doors.

We love SGA!!! The coaches are so good with our son who is high functioning autistic, and they're all very talented and uplifting, patient, and encouraging! They're also very well organized, especially for having so many young staff members. They really do an awesome job teaching the kids and making it fun, too! We definitely recommend! :-)

We've been attending Suncoast with our 3 kids for years now, and have done Gymnastics, as well as Taekwondo and dance, and we've enjoyed all the instructors. The kids have had a blast as well!

We switched to this gym a few months ago in the optionals program. Heather, Sergey, and Christian are fantastic coaches. It's a welcoming environment and Heather really understands how to get positive results from the gymnasts. She helped my daughter heal from a terrible experience at our previous gym with compassion, patience, and positivity every day. She has built up my daughter's confidence level and supports her in only positive ways. It shows in the progress she's made in such a short period of time. The environment here is fantastic - love that there is always music playing to keep the mood fun.
The front desk ladies are always friendly and helpful. Brent is always walking around smiling and engaging with people. I love that the teams pretty mich have an entire gym to themselves so its not overcrowded and there are multiple of each apparatus so the girls are always getting their reps with minimal waiting around.
The coaches find ways to keep the girls having fun and watching my daughter love her sport again has been the biggest blessing our family could ask for.

I wish I could leave a good review. My hopes were high but after an incident at summer camp I will not recommend this location. The ownership was not kind to my concerns and I wasnโt taken seriously. I was bluntly lied to. They didnโt resolve the incident and donโt seem to have a care to.
My son was excited for ninja classes but weโll find something else. Wonโt waste another dime here.

Weโve been part of the Suncoast Gymnastics family for a few years now, and I just wanted to share how genuinely caring and thoughtful the team is. Recently, we had an unfortunate situation that wasnโt even their fault, but Brent still went out of his way to make sure we felt supported and valued. His kindness and professionalism meant so much during a really stressful moment. Itโs rare to find businesses that treat their families with this level of heart and integrity. Truly grateful for this place and the people behind it!

Weโve been attending Suncoast Gymnastics for over four years, and while there are some positive aspects, I feel itโs important to share our experience for other families considering this gym. My child has only moved up one level during that time, which has been disappointing given the length of our commitment. The class sizes are consistently large, which leads to long periods of waiting between turns. I completely understand the challenges that come with group instruction, but the lack of individual attention seems to really slow progress. There was even a time that my child was super excited to show all the skills she had been working on at home (and aced!) at the end of class, but the coach said, not today, sorry.
Unfortunately, the coach isnโt able to adequately monitor, evaluate, or correct each gymnast during class. This is likely due to the size of the groups and overall structure, but it does impact the childrenโs ability to improve.
The facility itself also leaves a bit to be desired. The bathrooms are often in poor condition (though Iโm glad to hear theyโre finally being renovated), and the air conditioning is weak at best. Itโs tough just sitting in the waiting area so I can only imagine how uncomfortable it must be for the kids working hard on the floor.
Another area that needs improvement is communication. They recently added star assessments to the app during evaluations, which sounds great in theory. However, there is no follow-up or explanation of what those evaluations mean, whether your child is progressing, or what they might need to work on. You donโt even know if theyโre eligible to move up.
With all that said, the one bright spot, and the reason weโve stayed as long as we have, is that my child really enjoys the friendships sheโs built at Suncoast. The social environment has been a positive part of her experience.

The coach for the 3:30 Ninja class is AWESOME!! He has such patience with the kids. And a great teacher! Itโs too bad that some of the kids donโt listen and it takes away from the class. Parents need to recognize this. His entire team is amazing!!!

We have been at Suncoast for over 3 years doing a variety of classes. I will start by saying the coaches are amazing. Coach Jase, Coach Gavin and Coach Aubrey are wonderful in the Ninja school. Coach Riva is great with the little ones for gymnastics. Every dance class we've attended has been excellent, by both coach Tanya and Misti. Also, Alex at the front desk is amazing! However, the new make up policy is horrible. I've had multiple times where my kids were sick so I didn't want to take them but also don't want to miss an expensive class! The lack of make up options and flexibility encourages parents to bring in sick children and the place becomes a germ fest. Prior to new ownership, there was unlimited make ups and smaller class sizes. The huge class sizes make it hard for the coaches to keep track of the individuals and focus on their skills. I understand the need to make money as a business but the cut off for class sizes is getting larger and larger! I feel bad for the coaches who care and are trying to give each child their attention because it becomes difficult with so many kids.

The teachers are truly so kind. The front desk is horrible. The directors are horrible. I have multiple emails that were sent to a director which never got a response. I enrolled 2 kids in a class and when we showed up for another week of class, was told one kid couldnt join cause he was too old. Asked why I wasnt told this prior so I wouldn't have a crying kid, answer was 'well i did tell the front desk last week when they called to ask'. Ok so when was i going to be told so i wouldnt drag a kid to a class for him to have to sit and watch other kids have fun for an hour?!
Was told to email the same director who never responded to emails over a previous issue. Called back to cancel, was told my card was removed and when I checked online, it was not. Had to call back again to get it removed.
The preschool director was kind and tried her best to get it sorted out so I appreciate that. But their communication & organization is horrible. My kids have left there crying too many times.

I love Suncoast Gymnastics! Their coaches are trustworthy and like family. The coaches are experienced and truly dedicated. I'm so impressed with our daughters progress. Our oldest daughter competes for their competitive compulsory gymnastics program. They have a bunch of cool programs like dance, musical theater, tumbling, trampoline, and even parkour. They offer so many different options for entertainment, such as holiday themed "parents' night out." Your child can also always try a class for free before signing up. My kids have gone here for approximately 5 yrs. My girls love Suncoast, and that's the most important aspect.

Recently went for toddler time, had a great time however cleanliness is severely lacking. The whole place smells like feet. The low balance beam had visible dried blood. Visibly dirty surfaces like the plastic ride on car, which is something that is easily wipeable.
Was wiling to overlook and quietly not return however my child now has a foot fungus within 3 days of visiting, and this is the likely source.

My two daughters have been going to gymnastics here for 1 and 2 years, and only one of them have moved up to level 2. My girls do not have any type of disabilities or focus issues so I believe the class sizes are too big and crowded areas for the coaches to give the proper instruction and attention. Some of the coaches are great and I have tried switching the days and times and coaches to see if that would help but nothing changed. We were about to switch to a different gymnastics and held out because we were enticed by the marketing of them opening a sister gym which would make for โsmaller class sizes and quicker advancementโ Which just seemed like a scheme for the facility to make more money, because then they had โbring a friendโ and friends get a discount if they sign upโ. Plus, now I see all kinds of new families and class sizes are still 7-10 kids per coach. I donโt give many reviews but this is just a heads up for people looking into this gym, what to expect.

Very INSENSITIVE & IRRESPONSIBLE coaches and front staff. The coaches and front staff are hardly teenagers. Our daughter was in the first level of gymnastics for more than a year though she was really good at it, I let the coaches know but they did nothing about it. The manager reached out when I gave a bad review after being frustrated for so long, he tried moving her to different class but our daughter developed hatred towards gymnastics for being in the same level for such a prolonged time. Thank you Suncoast Gymnastics for making sure she develops absolute hatred towards gymnastics!! She learned doing cart wheels on her own watching YouTube videos, when she showed them to the coaches, the coaches ridiculed her that she was not upto the mark. She has been the best in class right from when she was a toddler and it makes me feel bad that she hates it now. Please don't waste your time coming here and searching for a parking spot. I'm not taking down this review like I did before, it needs to stay as a reminder to uplift every kid's spirit and not to discourage them like it happened in our case.
Update : The manager picks up an argument with me via text message saying I was unreasonable at giving a negative review. His tone was really harsh and I now know why they do not have single one star review lately. I wouldn't be surprised if they reach out to me again.

My daughter started her gymnastics journey here. Staff was amazing as well as her coaches, Alexis and Brandy, they understood how my daughter works and this made her love gymnastics even more. Brent is honestly the best, patient and very understanding owner. He will do what is possible to listen and try to fix what needs fixing โค๏ธ. The communication needs some improvement but other than that, we were happy.

Unfortunately this was not the best gymnastics experience for my daughter who came from another gym out of state. Their coaches never provide insight on student development and requirements for progression, parent portal never helpful either with updates. Coaches also never provided students with weekly strategyโs and work on areas students need to progress. Really sad. Save your money and find a better gym.

Go elsewhere. They are all about the money and not the child. Some of the coaches reduce girls on the team to tears, yell at them, and put them down. No professionalism at all. Regret spending all the money we did and to still continue to have issues. We left because we were unhappy and the coach told the girls they kicked us out. Really, why say anything at all? Then they blocked her from competing in her first meet and kept charging me after we had been gone. Find a gym that cares about your child, it's not this one!

Now a little over a year and my two children love this program. My daughter who cheers loves the fact that there is a mix of tumbling and core body strength. My son constantly practicing and trying to improve his skill set. One of the most impressive things I like about the program is the mental aspect. Coaches will explain to students why they are pushing them to accomplish an obstacle instead of just letting them give up. The class ends with the Ninja Creed. This is a list of principles that help build character in our littles.

My daughter has been in the Suncoast Dance Academy pre-combo class (3 to 5 y/o) for the past year and she has LOVED it! Nicole keeps the class fun for the girls while still helping them learn the basics of dance. We plan on registering for next year's classes and will stick with SDA as long as my daughter continues to enjoy dancing!!

Leaving 2 stars bc the gym is clean and most instructors are good. HOWEVER, one of the receptionist/front desk lady is so rude, Iโve called a few times about make up days, switching coaches etc and 9/10 times I get a certain lady and sheโs just completely rude and acts completely bothered that I even called in. Most recently I called in around 10am and when I asked about changing coaches she said โyouโre going to have to wait a few minutes bc we just opened and my computer isnโt even loaded.โ (The hours indicate they open at 9) she placed me on a 6 min hold and when I repeated my question she immediately said โmm nope nothing available.โ Which was hard for me to believe but I said ok bc I figured Iโd ask in person. Iโm not the only person with this problem as me and other parents (many other parents) have talked about this and they all have the same issue.

We just pulled out of Suncoast for another smaller gym. A couple of years back we signed up and it seemed fine at first, but the class sizes started becoming so large that it became a waste of money. The best coach eventually took on the sales person role and it was.more about how many kids and how much money they could pull through the doors. I became do fed up with watching week after week, class after class just watching our girls go through the motions and receiving little to no coaching. Then on Saturdays during meets when parents would show up to watch they squueze in birthday parties at the exact same time. Last week we had a one hour tryout with a new facility and witnesses better coaching than they had recieved all year at Suncoast. I guess with trinity growing the way that it is they know there are enough people to keep signing up to the point the owner isnt worried about losing anyones business. The facility is really nice and the equioment is top notch. Hopefully they get this fixed, its only hurting the girls. If your not one of the top spenders they rarley give you or your child much attention.

Very disappointed with Suncoast Gymnastics. There are other better run facilities in the area where you will get your money's worth and better results. You pay to work with a particular coach and particular class and the first event they separate the kids into unfamiliar groups and bring in an entirely new coach. The new coach of course has no idea what's going on so the routine they had been working on for at least a month goes right out the window. The event then equates to watching kids hop down a mat, hold an adults hand and walk down a balance beam, skipping, rolling on the floor, and said adult forcing them to do some kind of roll over a bar. Child went from loving gymnastics to wanting no part of it and being completely turned off about it. The hardest part isn't the wasted money but the disappointed and heart broken child who went from being really excited about something to just wanting no part of it.

New review. Let me tell you that the coaches are nice and great with the students.
Ownership is another issue.
Recently he started an Acro program. Hired a coach then required us to get an AAU and USAG membership. Purchase a competition leotard(350+) compitition Jacket(150) as the season went on he had no involvement in the program. He did not seem to care that the girls placed First in almost every event and even had a 2 first and 3 seconds at states. Out of nowhere he fired the coach and dismantled the Acro program. The front desk was chaotic at best.
The owner did not even know we had Nationals coming up. The girls were devastated.
As a side note he did not charge us for the half of the month the acro was cancelled. He called it a refund. They had no classes.
I have written to both USAG and AAU about our concerns.
Old review. Great staff. Competitive gymnastics and trampoline.

I absolutely love this gymnastics facility. My daughter started 10 weeks ago and even though she had some basics she was a little scared but with the amazing coaching staff she went from a level 1 to a 3 in 4 weeks. I went from 1 class a week to two and it's worth it. Thank you Suncoast coaching staff especially Coach Rachel for what she sees in my daughter and pushing her to do more.

The administration is efficient and helpful when scheduling classes. They offer lots of programs and is available for birthdays. I highly recommend it.
