About the Club

My name is Dylan Carlson and I am an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist based out of the Saint Petersburg area! I have expereince training people of all ages and body types and offer something for everyone. I have been training others for around 3 years and am passionate about helping people reach their goals and live a fulfilled and healthy lifestyle!

I aim to get all my clients strong, flexible, and athletic. I take my time to intentionally program my clients’ workouts and design each program specific to their needs and goals. Everyone comes in at a different level and I love the task of working with all different abilities and body types!

I first met Dylan about five years ago during small group fitness training, where he was the trainer. Back then, my approach to fitness was just to “turn off my brain,” go through the motions, and exercise every day—without really seeing results.
With Dylan, everything changed. He is extremely knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to give the perfect advice. His stretch and mobility exercises are truly the best, and they’ve made a huge difference in my training.
Today was yet another example of his professionalism. I joined the Last Saturday of the Month Training at St. Pete Strength Center, which he offers free for the St. Petersburg community. It was an amazing one-hour session, followed by a refreshing cold plunge at The Balance House.
I’m grateful for his guidance and highly recommend him to anyone looking to train smarter, not just harder!

I’ve been training with Dylan for a year or so now. Honestly, I thought I was in pretty good shape when I went to him and just thought, he could help me get to the next level but man was I wrong. He had me working muscle groups and techniques that I’d never worked on probably my whole life. Within the first few weeks I was seeing incredible gains. I have a lower back injury and he was immediately able to target the muscles needed to give me massive relief around that injury so I could really work on areas I avoided for years. I really can’t say enough great things about working together with him. He’s calm, reassuring, encouraging without intimidation and really wants to see you succeed. Started working with Dylan with a pretty specific goal in mind: help with marathon training and the hip tightness I was experiencing from training. Couldn’t be happier I did. When I started we only had two months left before race day and he created a plan to A) Build core and leg strength to help handle the demands of training and B) help with overall mobility with a focus on hips.

Easily noticed the difference by the end of the 2 months. Hips are pain free, got a PR in my race so that went great, and will 100% use Dylan again during my next training block!

While I worked with some physical trainers earlier in life when I was playing sports, now that I am in my forties I was a bit intimidated to get back into it because I didn’t want to get injured and or over pushed. I have found Dylan to be excellent with sincerely individualizing our workouts to meet my specific goals and energy levels.

He is intuitive but also good at consistently checking in with insuring I am getting what I want out of each session and good at adapting our sessions if I want less of a push day and or am feeling I want more of a challenge.

He finds a good balance of strength, mobility, agility, and flexibility training exercises, that is less boring than only focusing on weights and lifting. He is easy to communicate with and I have found his services to support me not just with my physical goals but with reducing my overall stress as well.

The smaller private gym setting is also a big plus, since I rarely see more than 4 people there at any one time. Compared to my past trainers who have complicated payment structures, Dylan has by far been the most relaxed and easy to work with, while at the same time providing me the gentle push I need to stay top on achieving my objectives.

Dylan has been a game changer for me. I starting working with him 3 times a week about 6 months ago and the results are unquestionable. I came in super tight, weak, and very much out of shape. We talked for about an hour on the phone, before my first session, about my goals and about my motivation. I told him I wanted to be athletic again and I wanted to be able to keep up with my toddler. Since then, he has been diligently working with me and progressing me through a variety of workouts focusing on increasing my flexibility, my explosiveness, and my strength. We also tighten up my food intake and what I should focus on while at home or traveling for work. I have lost about 15 pounds, about 6% body fat, and I am hitting personal bests on every exercise we do. I feel the best I have felt in a very long time and I don’t see me stopping any time soon!
