Great instructors and great local and national communities. I started the style with no experience and Cuong Nhu and was taught everything I needed to know.

An excellent place for you to be stronger both physically and mentally. It has dedicated instructors whose passions are martial art and teaching. The diversity of martial art techniques taught here makes the dojo standing out among others.

The founding home of Cuong Nhu Oriental Martial Arts. This space resonates as the spiritual center for all the senior leadership as well as many of the sensei's who trained and grew while attending UF. Today, you can start your journey, the dojo promotes a family learning & growing environment.

Martial Arts , and especially Cuong Nhu, benefits all individuals in a multitude of ways some of which include: learning self-defense, physical and mental fitness, confidence, leadership skills, camaraderie, and acquiring life-long friendships. Cuong Nhu is the perfect style for everyone of all ages, levels, and abilities. No matter your beliefs or what you set as your goals in life, Cuong Nhu will compliment and enrich that experience. As an added benefit, at Tallest Tree Dojo, family members and friends of all ages and ranks workout on the same floor at the same time, so there is no "waiting around" for individual classes or worrying about your youngsters -- Parents, get your workout and self-improvement training alongside your children!

Love practicing at Tallest Tree. The instructors spend time helping every student, and everyone is friendly. We work hard but also have fun. Also, you learn seven different styles of martial arts in Cuong Nhu, and Cuong Nhu teaches you the hard and soft style of martial arts.

So grounded and focused on what matters the most in martial arts: the students. It's a non profit style that focuses on self-defense and character building. The instructors and students are some of the most amazing people you will ever meet. They take the time to get to know you on a personal level, catering to what matters to you in your training. I've trained here for over 7 years and every time I step foot in the door it feels like home.

Disclaimers first, I am one of the co-heads of school and I've taught at this dojo for about 25 years. But from the very start this dojo has been special, first because it was where the founder of the style, Master Ngo Dong, taught for so many years. And secondly because of all the great people who have trained and sweated and worked together. Many are now scattered around the country and around the world at other dojos, but we still have the best students anywhere.

I grew up in this karate style and among these people. You won't find a more sincere and grounded approach to martial arts. Cuong Nhu is an excellent integration of seven different martial arts styles unified under a single philosophy, and there's so much to draw on and learn from. Tallest Tree has been a part of the Gainesville community for over 30 years- check them out! They'll become family.
