Oh, wow, where do I even start with this gym? A shining beacon of incompetence run by the entrepreneurial genius herself, the owner, who clearly missed the memo on how to run a business. I went in to cancel my membership in person, and they managed to botch it spectacularly by canceling only my membership and not the family plan that included my wife. Did I notice? Nope! My bad for not obsessively checking my credit card statements for four months while they kept sneakily charging me at a lower rate, probably hoping I’d never catch on. Sneaky, sneaky!

When I finally wised up and confronted the owner, she canceled the membership correctly this time (miracle of miracles!). But refund the $180 they wrongly charged me? Oh, no. Apparently, this gym is so strapped for cash that $180 is the difference between keeping the lights on and holding spin classes in the dark. She wouldn’t even meet me halfway, which is honestly just peak customer service, right?

And then, the cherry on top: she had the audacity to tell me my wife needed to come in person to cancel the membership—only to turn around and cancel it herself without my wife present. So, which is it, Karen? Are we playing by your imaginary “corporate” rulebook, or are you just making it up as you go because your piggy bank’s looking a little light? For a small gym where she’s the owner, you’d think she could muster a shred of accountability and refund the money she basically pilfered. But no, clearly she’s clinging to every penny like it’s her lifeline to keep this sad little gym afloat. Save yourself the hassle and steer clear unless you want to fund her next vacation.

I joined this gym on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by everything inside! Not only is the staff absolutely amazing but this is a hidden gem of gyms! I highly recommend joining this facility. I love this gym, it’s a little bit small but very well equipped, they have any piece of equipment you can think of. It’s never busy and I never have to wait for anything and it gives almost a private gym feel. It’s a rugged powerlifting/boxing gym feel which I also love it’s also 24/7. The sign up process was kind of weird and a little confusing but it was super good for the price so I would HIGHLY recommend!!!

If you go to cancel this gym membership make sure to follow up. I was charged 4 additional months after I called and canceled plus they turned it to collections and it dropped my credit score. They business practices is suspect.

Edit* quitting is hard. It took a couple of months to get them to stop charging me. It was always hot as hell in the gym. We were told that it was to keep muscles warm which we believed until winter came then it was very cold. Truth is, they're cutting corners. A lot of the equipment and bathroom are run down too. Our finances just wouldn't support going to a gym that cost that much when LAFitness is cheaper and has a pool. We miss the nice people, but it wasn't a good deal for the money.

No joke...The name says it all. I've heard so many people say, "X company treats you like family." In this case, they actually do! I've never felt this welcome from any gym in the past. The people running it are genuinely concerned for you as an individual. The people ATTENDING it are just as genuine. I look forward to seeing people here. I feel very supported.

I'm going to this gym to improve my poor health and it's been a slow climb, but I'm getting there with the encouragement I get from both staff and patrons. My fiancé has serious trouble with his back and hips, but with diligent effort in the stretch class run by Anthony, he's seen significant improvement. He's also dropped 2 pants sizes since we started going!

This gym is CLEAN and they offer small towels as well. There's a lot of equipment, much of which I'm not familiar with yet. Any of the staff are happy to help you learn how to use it correctly and can give pointers as to what to use to target certain areas. Special thanks to both Eddies for all the help teaching us.

The main focus here is YOU and the staff makes sure you feel like you're at home. Thank you!

This gym is an absolute hidden gem (play on words intended). I had some medical issues and needed to regain my strength. Plus, I didn't want to go back to the corporate-owned gym that I quit when Covid first hit because they weren't being careful. I wanted a place that wasn't packed and kept things as clean as possible. Tampa Family Fitness has met my needs in, what I feel, is a safe environment. I've regained my strength -- and then some. The next step is to hit the cardio equipment to take off some of the healthy weight I've gained while bulking up. This place is a little bit like Average Joe's in the movie "Dodgeball'' and I mean that as a good thing. The people here aren't wearing flashy clothes and they're not here for a social event. They're here to get a good workout and that's what a gym is for.

I Liked the gym however bad business, they tell you it's month to month when selling the gym membership explaining how it's no big deal if you can't continue because i made it clear i did t want a contract or unknown fees, however forget to mention that you have to give a 60 day notice to cancel a month to month contract continue to charge you than add Ridiculous late fees DURING A Pandemic end up costing a years worth of membership when people are losing everything, why not be misleading and take advantage. Sad because i used to brag about how much i liked the gym because it was family owned they act just like the big corporate bullies. Eve. called trying to resolve i got chastised and the manager just argued with me stating at the bottom of the paper (Month to Month ) contract it's a clause smh I guess i should bring a lawyer to the gym with me now too

Sarah and Eddie have earned my business for life. My first day walking in I was having trouble with my bank card, Sarah said “just go ahead and get your workout and come back tomorrow to pay. You need to without (she meant that in the kindest way) so go ahead and we’ll get your membership set up tomorrow. Beyond that, the gym is always clean, including the bathrooms, the people who frequent the gym are always positive and motivating you to do better, and there’s plenty of room and equipment to get the best workout possible. I love this place. It’s definitely my go to gym. Signed up for this gym membership a couple months ago and not only is it 24 hour access, but the trainers there are amazing! I lost 50 pounds! Everyone is super professional and the equipment here is remarkable. The best part is that they allow you to have a gallon of water (unlike planet fitness). I would 10/10 recommend this gym.

BEWARE!!!! Do not give this gym any of your money in advance! Not worth it, and then to be taken for 3-4 months HIGHWAY ROBBERY! They make up rules as they go along. I prepaid for 12 months in Dec 2020. No early contract or clauses that I cannot cancel at anytime. I selected this gym as the rest of my family went there for martial arts classes, which included a gym membership. Out of no where they advised the gym membership was no longer with the package of martial arts. So with no one in my family having gym access I requested to cancel. I called, left a message that I would like to cancel. They must receive a lot of cancellations as their prerecorded message stated if you are cancelling you must come in person to cancel. However, I still left a message stating my name, number, and that I am requesting to cancel my 12 months with 3 months remaining. Please call me back to understand how the transaction will take place. Two weeks pass, no call.

I now make my way over there, walk in, speak to the owner. He asks for my name and we have nothing to do, you prepaid 12 months so we won't cancel you either come or don't. I said, I don't want access, I want a refund for the remaining months. He said, you prepaid so you lost it. I said where did I sign for those terms? He said you didn't, thats just how we do it. So you can come back between now and December. Why waste people’s time and have them come in if you are keeping their money!

The gym has old equipment, broken ACs, smells, some days it smells like old sweaty locker-room and others like a Clorox bomb was setoff on-top of on top of old sweaty locker room.

Again, I only chose this gym because of the martial arts my kids attended that is located in the gym and dealt with the quality due to convenience. Once they removed everyones gym memberships for martial arts students, where my family cannot also workout there was no reason for me to accept the low quality. There are cleaner, updated, and cheaper gyms around that have rules established that not only benefit the owners whims.

Clarification based on the owners response:
A. I paid full price for the year at the prepayment rate… no huge discount. Lol!! Price I paid 250.00 (equates to est $21 vs regular 26 monthly rate) + 35 member fee. Given convenience mentioned above made it comparable price wise to other gyms even though quality was a subpar 3 at best. That does not change the fact the members should have a cancellation process with a refunded amount.
B. Glad the ACs are finally fixed hopefully equipment will be next.
C. You are correct, my husband was informed of the irrelevant excuse given the day of cancellation to all Muay Thai members. Which speaks profoundly to your whimsical business decisions and further supports my review. Abuse of privileges for non paying members should not impact paying ones. Sounds like a business records problem to me. However , that still won’t take care of the many homeless that seem to be members from Florida and Nebraska Aves I watched come in the evening using only the bathrooms as their home bathroom and never working out.

In the end, now you have AC (lol), equipment unchanged, flippant business decisions still occur, still people abusing the privileges, and you still keep people’s money. Thanks for the response.

I started out as a new member during the time COVID peaked. This gym remained operational and followed all the guidelines especially in terms of cleanliness during this time. I thought I would workout here until my gym opened back up. After 1 year I never returned to my old gym as a member and made a great decision in staying on board. This gym is amazing..#1 unlike gyms I've worked out they FIX their machines quickly and always bring in challenging new equipment. #2 the facility including bathrooms are immaculate. #3 the owners who are married are both fantastic! They never seem too busy to converse about the new machines, life, goals etc. If anyone is in doubt and seeking a new gym with up to date hardcore equipment -- look no further. If you enjoy boxing, muy tai and other activities they have that too. I've even enjoyed a stretching/yoga class that was free since I've been a member. Give it a try, you won't regret it. Cheers!

This gym used to be a Calta's 24/7 Fitness. The new owners care much more about cleanliness of the gym and actually care about equipment being fully functional (as opposed to prior owners). There are machines for just about every exercise you can imagine, plenty of loose weights and dumbbells, plenty of benches, multiple squat racks, and plenty of cardio machines for everyone. It is a much more pleasant experience than ever before to work out here.

I’ve tried every popular gym chain out there, but have never felt more motivated to continue my fitness journey than when I joined Tampa family fitness. Sara and Kathy’s spin classes are great!! Boot camp with Kathy was the best workout I’ve ever had. Cardio kickboxing with Ace will literally kick your butt. Every member of this gym is super nice and willing to help. My wife and I have been members to this gym since 2011. Since it has changed over to Tampa Family Fitness this place has changed from good to really really great! The new owners really care about this place and it shows. My 10 year anniversary of marriage is coming up this August so I have been going to this gym alot since January 2018. This place was always good but now it is incredible. This gym has a much better great vibe. You can tell that they really care. Tonight my wife was able to workout for the first time in a long time and she was extremely impressed by the changes this place has undergone. After visiting the locker room she was blown away. Very clean and many amenities have been added that were not present before. She informed me that the woman's locker room was extremely clean and included very tasteful decor. Beyond the cleanliness she said they have very nice soaps included and also a curling iron and hair dryer. Very impressive! Personally I have noticed that the owners clean the equipment regularly and there are always towels and spray bottles accessible to clean the equipment after you are finished. Hi: I joined this gym "Family" two months ago and I love this gym! The inside air is always cool, the energy is always calm and I am excited to get up every morning to come here to work out. I wake up everyday excited to ride my bike here and "Get It Done." The machines are always clean and the atmosphere is safe (for women) and peaceful. I tried for months to get my access card turned on. Every time I went in, the staff would tell me the owner is the only one that can turn it on. Like this is a complex task. Apparently the staff members are just too stupid to do a simple task like making an access card work. After a couple of months, I gave up.

Poorly operated and maintained gym. I was a member for about a year, when I switched gyms. Originally chose this gym because of its location but trust me, it’s worth the extra few minute drive. It’s fairly standard gym with some cardio equipment and mostly free weights. A good amount of the equipment is poorly maintained, broken, or rusted. But honestly it’s the customer service and management that caused me to write this poor review. There’s an annual $40 “maintenance fee” that they wait until the last part of signing up to tell you about. They also fail to mention that if you would like to cancel your membership, you have to pay for two more months before it goes through. EVEN THEN (as I did), they may continue to charge you because the employees don’t really know what they’re doing. If you ask the "manager" to try and fix something (such as an improperly canceled membership), he says he can’t. All around, a skeevy way of running a business and you’d be much better off putting your trust and money in another establishment.

This is an awful, awful place. Most of the equipment is rusted or broken, the staff is comprised of smug, lazy, muscle-heads who aren't authorized to do much of anything. The environment makes me feel like I am going to be shot or stabbed at any moment.

I tried to cancel my account back February but the greasy-haired counter jockey refused saying that he couldn't authorize it and that I would have to come back during a week day when the owner/manager was there. This was impossible because I work from 9 to 5 and my commute is an hour away. The only way I could have come in at that time would have been if I had skipped work for a morning.

It was not until after I had gotten severely injured in March that they actually let me out of my membership. I went into the gym with second degree burns all over my face and arms and asked them to cancel my membership. The guy agreed, offered me some sympathy, and did some stuff on his computer which I thought would finish the matter. As a precaution, I told my bank to no longer accept any charges from the third party billing company the gym uses to collect every month. Now, some four months later, I just received a notice from a place called National Acceptance Company saying that I owe $61.40 because my account with Calta's is "seriously delinquent". Last I checked, that account was cancelled.

Don't go to Calta's Youfit is a much better gym with much friendlier people. It is cleaner, has a safer enviornment, and it costs the same for monthly membership.

Calta's 24/7 Fitness is a great gym open 24/7 with a boxing gym great prices very clean and well maintained new cardio machines just arrived trainer are great and very friendly you should definitely go check the gym out you will love it

I have never wrote a review before, but felt absolutely prompted to review my experience with this gym. I came to this facility, like many people, eager to join due to their competitive low monthly fee and gym size. However, I was met with the most UNPROFESSIONAL service I have EVER experienced in an establishment. I have nothing 'personally' against anyone employed by this establishment, but the manager of the gym is not very professional. I was charged an unexpected fee to my account. So, I called up to the center, spoke to the manager who then went on a rant insulting me because I did not expect the fee they charged to my account. Very emotional and unprofessional for someone who is supposed to be managing the place. I was displeased. Upon releasing my membership/affiliation with this establishment, I paid off my remaining balance. Per usual, a customer EXPECTS a receipt. So, the manager wrote 'paid' and the amount on a sticky note handed it to me. A STICKY NOTE!?!! I was insulted. And, there's no wonder he wrote it on a sticky note because, the next month, I WAS CHARGED AGAIN, even though I had paid them off. I should have known that something was fishy about this place when every time I walk in, there are no more than 5 people working out. They don't get much business, and for GOOD reason. I wrote this review as a warning to others like me who simply want good service and professionalism from an establishment providing service. But, I must remember, you certainly get what you pay for!

Dirty broke equip you gotta take a number to workout cause they only have 1piece of equipment to share the staff are impolite and arrogant this place is not a good enviorment to get a good workout on dnt let them trick you into a contract there no way out of it if you are unhappy
